After months of chatting online with the mysterious Charles, Nathan leaves behind his life in a small town in Pennsylvania to move to London for a man he’s never seen.

When Nathan arrives in London, Charles is nowhere in sight, only a limo driver with mysterious instructions…

Redeeming Jayden
JAYDEN BARRON

Twenty-two-year-old artist Jayden Barron is summoned home from New York City by his father to assist in the family business of painting and selling replica art to international rogue buyers. Nothing prepares him for what he encounters when he arrives, however. His entire family is missing.

Those his father has been dealing with rarely return missing people alive. The family attorney sends Jayden out of the country for his protection, straight into a haunted castle with a singing ghost who leaves him lilacs in the middle of the night. Fortunately, the castle also has Harlan Wendell.

HARLAN WENDELL

Affluent, generous, thirty-two-year-old, German translator, Harlan Wendell has every material possession he could want, but no love in his life. He hires young Jayden to recreate his family portraits lost in a fire. It isn’t long before he realizes that Jayden is much more than an employee to him, and they begin a relationship that fulfills both their desires.

When events take a dramatic turn and secrets are revealed, can Harlan protect Jayden and their love?

Not my cuppa. Read like it was attempting to be a bdsm how to guide w little to no real info beyond vague references and a few scenes. But there’s so much smex in each book it felt like they were meant to be erotica w a bit of plot thrown in.

I get that I sound super mean here but I wa t to be clear bc for many, that’s EXACTLY what they WANT.

Also the audio isn’t exactly bad, more so the voice doesn’t do the books any favours. Kind of flat. Like it’s a reading NOT a full performance. It’s read as an observer retelling it rather than an actor becoming the characters if that makes sense.

The books also leave lots of loose ends regarding side characters. And a high number of things get a level of emphasis that implies it’ll matter later. …. But then has no actual purpose.

It felt like what I’d expect to see from a very new author who is still learning to find their style, but not quite there yet. I do think the author has potential, but I also felt that their publishing and editing team could have done a LOT to help polish these stories up. The bones are there. I’d be interested in seeing what the author would do with the stories if released after a dozen or so more titles/few years more experience under their belt.

I think if they’d have had a younger narrator it would have helped too. Most of each book is from the pov of a College age young man (20 ish). The narration is by a guy who sounds like he’s at least in his 40s. Tone, cadence, pitch, etc come across very differently w a gap like that. The voice matched the older characters well. But no so much the younger ones.
