***BLURB CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BOOK FOUR***

Alice
It’s been seven days since I rejected my mate. When the inconceivable truth came out that he’s been working with the Task Force for years, I couldn’t even look at him. This is the Task Force that tried to round up my family, kill us, and experiment on alphas to learn how they tick.

Mitchell’s adamant he had no choice. But the truth is he betrayed us–betrayed me. That dishonesty shattered our bond so deeply, I don’t think it can ever be mended. If that’s not bad enough, my heat is coming–a dangerous time for a lone pack omega. I may have no choice but to bring him back to service me through it.

Meanwhile, the other omegas are developing new, dangerous powers they struggle to control. I’m terrified someone will be harmed, so I need Mitchell to come back and help me guide them. He and I are capable of instructing the omegas successfully–if we can stop fighting long enough to partner together.

If we do this, will my heart survive being close to him after his betrayal? Will we harness the omegas’ powers in time to successfully defend against the Task Force? We’re going to find out one way or another, because the only thing that is certain is that they’re coming for us–soon.

Awake at Last is the fifth and final book in the Alpha Compound series by Anna Fury. This paranormal dystopian MF omegaverse romance features a rejected shifter mate and his omega attempting to find their way back after a devastating betrayal.

I've loved this series and am so sad it's over. I was so excited to read how it all ended and if they would defeat their enemies and it definitely didn't disappointment!

As usual with this series, this story is hot as all hell and the story kept me gripped throughout.

Looking forward to reading the Stone spin off.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I have waited forever for Mitchell and Alice's story, and the wait was well worth it.

The book picks up where Book 4 leaves off. The pack has discovered Mitchell's secret about his ties with the Task Force. Alice has rejected him as her mate, and he has been exiled off Stone's compound. He is trying to get back into their good graces, especially Alice's, while he and the pack are trying to get ready for the impending Task Force attack.

This book was everything and more. Mitchell has always been my favorite in the Alpha Compound, and he was fantastic in this book. While he admitted his culpability and deceit, I also love that he was unapologetic in his determination to protect his mate and his pack. I always found his dominance and swagger super-sexy, and he did not hold back in this book.

I am so glad that we got to know more about Alice in this read. While we got bits and pieces from previous books, she was always in the periphery. It was great to get in her head and to know more about her, about how driven and fierce she is, especially when she stands up to Mitchell.

It wouldn't be an Anna Fury book if it wasn't spicy, and this one is Ghost Pepper level. Anna always bring a unique spin to her sexy scenes -- this girl is still recovering from the Omegamatic scene in Book Four -- and Mitchell and Alice definitely brought the heat in this book. There is even a super-hot scene that made my Stone Malice heart full.

While this book can be a standalone, I strongly recommend reading the entire series to get the full Alpha Compound experience. It is bittersweet that we say goodbye to this pack; these characters have become near and dear to my heart. I am looking forward to Stone's pack in the next series.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Anna Fury for providing an ARC. **

Mitchel and Alice have a lot to come to terms with, after the betrayal that he was working with he Task Force the whole time. Because of that lie, he and Alice never truly bonded. But now it's all out in the open and Alice isn't sure she can ever let herself go back to the way things were.

This book is filled with redemption. Action. Angst. And lots and lots of steamy scenes as Mitchel and Alice find one another again. Meanwhile the Task Force is breathing down their necks and threatening everything they care about.

How is this series over? I need a minute because I loved every second of this book. Fury poured her heart and soul into Mitchell and Alice’s study and it shows. This is, undoubtedly, my favorite book in the series.

At the end of the last book we were left with Mitchell being forced to leave Stones house because of the lie he kept from his pack. Obviously this really hurt and devastate his pack members, but it really messed up Alice. We watch her she struggles to both love Mitchell but also it’s so deeply hurt by him she is unsure of whether she can forgive him for his actions.

I think for Fury does a great job at characterizing Alice. I was rooting for her the entire team and I loved how strong and vulnerable she was. She Wanted to be A good omega leader for her pack because her back was hurting. But she was also hurting and dealing with the after affects of rejecting her mate.

I was always on team forgive Mitchell, but I loved the scene Fury included that pinpoints the moment he made his choice and why he did it. His pack needed to see that.

During the last 1/3 of the book, I was on edge the whole time. I cried, laughed, and rejoiced. This was the perfect ending to one of my favorite series.

But I am so ready for Stone now!!!

This is by far my favorite of the series! Mitchell is just such a great man! The twists and turns in this book had me on the edge of my seat there for awhile. Alice is so badass, really this whole group of Alphas and Omegas could be my friends or family any day!! What a brilliant way to end the series!! Can’t wait for the spin-off that’s coming later this year!!

Killer plot✔️✔️
Hot growly Alpha men✔️✔️✔️

The finale!

This book is Mitchell and Alice's story. It's the culmination of the series so it's best if you start with book 1. The genre is omegaverse.

The last book ended with Alice rejecting Mitchell and him being exiled. He has a long road to redemption with his mate and pack. He puts in the work for both. (I don't want to do any spoilers). Alice has a journey to acceptance as well. Mix in the Taskforce threatening their safety, and the time line gets moved up. By the end of the book everything becomes clearer and gets resolved.

I love the redemption arc and seeing Malice come back together. The characters are endearing and have string development. I hated to see the last page because I can't get enough of them. Stone's story is coming next and I can't wait! Read this series. Anna has done a great job with the story line and keeping intrigue infused in it.

This is the fifth and last book of the Compound series by Anna Fury. Mitchel and Alice are the Alpha and Omega of the pack, the first couple to be mated but he never shifted and she never had a heat. There is no doubt that they are mates but they have been out of sorts since book 2 and, finally, we found out why on book 4. In Awake at Last we witness their past, their present and a glimpse of their future.
The book is so well written and, if you had the chance read all the books on the series (I strongly recommend that you do), you will see how the writing evolved and the author’s world became more mature, heartfelt, wildly sexy and real.
I can’t give it more than 5 stars but, writing this on the high of the last chapter, feeling a lot of emotions from this story, I can, honestly, say that Anna Fury is a mandatory author for me.

Ok, so I have been clearly biased this entire time that each book has been progressively better and better and I've fallen in deeper love with the characters as I've read the series but HOT DAYUM!!! This book was SO FREAKING GOOD!!!! It was HAWTTTTT!!!!!!

I can't even begin to describe how sizzling the chemistry between these 2 characters is. They've always been some of my favourite characters and Daddy Mitchell did NOT disappoint. *fans self*

The fifth and last book in the Alpha Compound series. This book was really amazing, and it definitely did justice to being the last book of this series.

First off, the main couple is two people who have been together since the beginning (although this is the first time we're getting their povs), and now, they're working on rebuilding their broken relationship. A proper second-chance romance, with a lot of emotional development, heart-to-hearts and therapy. The plot does justice to their long relationship, the goal of this book being to strengthen them further, and not to discard their initial years.

Secondly, the MMC in this book has to rebuild trust with the entire set of people in the pack. This gave way to a lot of wonderful scenes with the previous four books' MCs - it was a great way to end the series, to revisit all the characters we've seen so far.

The author has also done a great job at setting up the plot and characters for the spinoff series! I'm already hugely invested in them, and I can't wait!

Could not put it down

I was lucky enough to get to read this book early as part of Anna’s ARC team and it did not disappoint! I was trying to read it ‘slowly’ as I knew it was the last book of the Alpha Compound series but devoured it in two days (would have been less had I not been working).
Highly recommend this series, great character lots of spice and a few plot twists that even I didn’t see coming (and I can spot a plot twist from miles away!!). Can’t wait for the spin-off series. Enjoy

What a great series

This series was spectacular and this book no less so. I don’t want to give any thing away so be prepared for ups and downs, moments of angst, and some very steamy scenes. I can’t wait until the series continues.

This book was all about redemption and forgiveness, told from both POV. Pretty action packed and surprisingly kinda dark towards the end. I don’t think I would read this series again, though I will read Stone’s book next.

Holy heck that was spicy
I knew that Malice was going to be hot, but That was a whole other level. The chemistry between those two is like...lightning.😏 besides the spice, there was so much action and pack bonding along the way. You really get the Alpha pair view with Malice and how they care for every one of their pack members is so genuine. This came to one crazy and heart stopping ending, but it was wonderful nonetheless. I am ecstatic to see what this author brings us next.

This series and the amazing characters that Anna beautifully brought to life, live in a special place in my heart. I was devastated at the end of book 4 and was anxious how things would play out.

Mitchell made an uh oh....and Alice (and the entire pack) was all tore up over it. But what happens when the pack alpha and pack omega are needed as a united front...now more than ever? This.

I loved how Anna kept Mitchell true to himself, and ultimately kept his personality just the way Alice fell in love with, even if I was hoping for more groveling at the beginning LOL Alice is such a strong, bad ass omega, who through a lot of turmoil was able to overcome many obstacles. The PLOT, angst, seggsual tension, and spice were just *smooch* perfection and I do not think I could have asked for a better ending to this series.

Just do yourself a favor and read this series, you will fall in love ( or maybe start your own heat 😜). You won't regret it!

Daddy Mitchell. You now own my soul. With Samson right behind. But y’all I think daddy Stone is going to wreck me hard. This book though was amazing. I love Mitchell and Alice so much. Samson was my fav prior to this book. But man I knew these two would take over. Such an emotional ride and so loved the entire series. Cannot wait for the spin off.

Holy Freakin Amazingness! I absolutely devoured it!!!!

Prepare your B.O.B, grab a spare pair panties, turn on your fan and get your mind ready for this bittersweet read / final book in the Alpha Compound series.
Damn.... Anna Fury is wrapping up this series with a bang (pun totally intended). She brought all the STEAM, hot growly alphas, badass heroines, and a truly captivating plot that is riddled with twists and turns.
Mitchell and Alice have been on my radar since the beginning of this series.
Mitchell is all strong/sexy/alpha/determined MAN, and Alice is a caring/protective badass.
And...
As I expected, their story, had me hook, line and sinker from beginning to end.
Holy Moly what a journey it was for these two. It was beyond steamy, heart pulling, sexy af, a little suspenseful, and was sprinkled with some omegaverse action.

I can't recommend this series enough. I've loved each and every one of the Alphas and Omegas and this ending was perfect.
Although... Thank god for a spin off though because a few characters definitely need their own stories and I can't wait!

I have enjoyed this series so so much! It has been my fastest read for an entire series, and it reminded my how much I LOVE the angst of a dystopian world. While romance is the the biggest theme within this series, there also is an ongoing storyline where you are left at the edge of your seat wondering what could possibly be next.

I've been trying to pick a favorite couple for this world but it has been IMPOSSIBLE. I've felt so connected to each couple within their particular story, and all I can say is: I NEED MORE.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ALPHA COMPOUND SERIES!! Loved every single minute of it.

This one took me the longest to read out of the entire series and that’s mainly because I didn’t like Mitchell at all. I liked Alice but there was always something off to me about Mitchell.

I predicted in my review of one of the other books early on that Mitchell and Robert were working with the task force, and I think this is why Mitchell gave me the ick constantly.

Every time I got to his chapters I didn’t actually want to read them, honestly even Alice’s chapters where she was with Mitchell annoyed me.

The only reason this book gets more than 2* for me is the omegas and their new powers and for Stone and his ex-pack/new pack. Stone was the stand out character for me in this book and I can’t wait to read his book in the spin off series.

I’m sad we didn’t see any of the actual sexual encounters between Mitchell, Alice and Stone as it was mentioned and there was clearly a lot of flirting going on for Stone and Alice and we had that sneak peek in the car but it’s literally in the last chapter from stones POV that we find out they have gotten together a few times and it’s just mentioned in passing. What was the point of having the sexual tension between Stone and Alice throughout the book, then have the little play in the car, then having an entire bloody conversation about it and then not actually showing us. So disappointed.

We find out about Mel and Orion having a baby but we don’t see anything else about it. Obviously if they are still around the ranch for the spin off we will see it but it seems that they will be moving to their own new compound in Canada so we might not see what happens with them.

I’m happy to read more about stones spin off as I loved stone and Asher in this book.

I was so much more invested in the side characters than the two main ones. I feel so disappointed that this was the end of the series as it brought everything down for me what had been built between everyone in the previous books. If it was me writing I would have written Mitchell off as dead and had stone and Alice get together as second chance mates and stone could take over both packs, then we could see how the girls fare with their powers, see the baby being born etc. we may still see this but it will just be in passing as it’s a new branch for a completely different pack.

🔥 “I want you begging for it, mate. So when you’re ready to beg me for my teeth, let me know.”
~~~
I adore Alice so much! We got some glimpses of her in the previous books but here we got to learn what an amazing woman she is. I loved how strong and supporting she was of the pack even when she struggled herself. And she’s so caring, thoughtful, kind and protective. Even more, she’s an absolute badass! I loved this bratty omega so much!
And then - there’s Mitchell… Oh, you growly, dominant, possessive and magnificent male! I loved that he was unapologetic about all the difficult decisions he had to make to keep everyone safe and his determination and effort to rebuild the trust with his pack. He’s so confident, resilient and strong - a true leader. I loved everything about this bossy alpha!
I absolutely adored Mitchell and Alice’s relationship. If you’re looking for “couple goals”, they are it! I loved them so, so much - they were meant for each other and meant to lead together. Yes, they had a lot to overcome but Malice showed us that anything can be dealt with as long as you’re willing to work for it. Moreover, those two were so hot together... Talking about blazing hot passion and some very, very naughty playtimes… That truck scene and the pack run almost melted my reader! And if this story wasn’t hot enough on its own, after reading the bonus epilogue, I had to put my device in the freezer to cool it off. 🥵🔥
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! Everything happening with the pack, the Task Force, the omegas trying to learn to control their powers, the suspense and the twists - all of it kept me glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is a magnificent finale of a really amazing series. I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
I’m sad that the series is ending but I’m super excited for the spin-off and cannot wait to see what will happen next!
I honestly thought this book was going to go in another direction and when it didn’t it was down hill for me. The threesome couple in book 4 (?) should’ve warned me, but I had hope. The writing wasn’t the issue, but the characters were. I love the overall subplot that drives through the entire series, but Mitchell sucked as a main lead as did Alice. Everyone forgave him so easily and I think the author needed to build the forgiveness more because kicking him out was too kind. Or rather the author didn’t write the plot out detailed enough to immerse the reader to feel bad for Mitchell. All I felt was just that the dude was cocky and he had to wait out everyone else,like yolo no regrets. I don’t care if he didn’t care his actions, but I wish he regretted how he could’ve communicated his actions. If we change the scenario, like ops I cheated on you because I had to choice. I have no regret and I would have never mentioned it, would have taken that secret to my grave/death, because I had no choice. The fact that he would never say anything disturbs me.
This is why I say everyone forgives too easily just so Anna can end her book and get the sex parts. If she didn’t make it such a big deal in the first place, I wouldn’t be nitpicking so harshly on this point. After this I won’t really support the author since she was a big ten/ten for me because it felt new and was good, but after the recent few books her work just feels like it’s going down hill. Her work is now at most two stars out of ten. If you are low on your backup, backup list of books, maybe see another tv show again and then maybe read this book.
A Dystopian Shifter Romance
Alpha Compound Series Book #5
Awake at last
Authour: @annafuryauthor
Okay, I'm going to say it… I'm not ready for this to end.
Well, we just got right to the good stuff, didn't we? It did not take long for the spice to come out and play 🥵.
Wow, this book brings all the feels, anger, sadness, rejection, and a huge betrayal, later love, protection, strength, and family. It all boils down to a very emotional book for each and every character. Good thing Alice is there to help the pack even if she is struggling herself. With Alice mind and body being at odds with each other, is there any chance for Mitchell to make amends? I loved every minute of this book and was finding it hard to finish as I knew it would be the end of these characters I've grown to love so much. But it's okay. I'll relive this when I reread this series because I know I will. This series ended on such a high note that I'm excited to read the spin-off series.
Alice and Mitchell are 100% couple goals, and there is no doubt that they belong together and that they're both born to lead the park together. Alice, you're a badass, and I loved her story. I'm so grateful for these series and getting to be inside the minds of each of the characters. Thank you, Anna!
No offense but this was the biggest load of gaslighting garbage I've ever read. She should have dumped Mitchell's lying, gaslighting ass and gotten with Stone.
It also ACTIVELY KILLS ME that Mitchell's like "yeah I've given them one week to get over that I've spent the last three years lying to them, that's enough" and everyone just . . . agrees. Because that's pack dynamics. That's a convenient excuse to make everyone deal with Mitchell's shitty decisions. And the fact that at point he says "I've spent all day apologizing" when, to that point in the story, the words "I'm sorry" had never actually left his mouth. He never apologizes. He says "I made the decisions I made for good reasons" and everyone just has to throw their hands up and say "okay?!"
Like even though though he's valid af for the good reasons, I'm not arguing that, the way this was all handled in the beginning of the book was offputting af and I could not get over it the rest of the book, which I skimmed. It was bad. It was all bad. None of it was good. Mitchell sucks. Alice deserves better, even though I didn't really like her either. No one deserves Mitchell though.
Title: Awake at Last
Author: Anna Fury
Genre: Omegaverse
Spice: 🥵 yes
Series: Alpha Compound, book 5
Thoughts - when the secret was revealed I was ‘who is this person 😳,’ because I felt the betrayal… so when the grovelling started I was here for it. Special mention for when Alice goes through heat 🫠 this was such a great way for the series to end (even though there’s a new series with Stone in Canada, which Ive lined up for the next month). Definitely series recommended if your after an omegaverse that the story evolves along with all the characters.
Plot - Mitchells MMC secret is out and the pack is suffering for it. He’s not ready to give up though because family stays together, right? he won’t let anything happen to his family and his mate, even if it takes the ultimate sacrifice to keep them safe.
* Found Family
* Alpha/omega
* Dystopian
* Strong MFC
* Shifter
* That spice 🌶️
The finale to the series....or is it??
I do not believe this is the end. It cannot be!! There I said it. I need to know more about Stone's and Clay and Asher and what happens next in Mitchell's pack etc. etc. I just...need MORE!! More Alphas and Omegas ....more EVERYTHING!!
That said, Mitchell and Alice's story was absolutely phenomenal. There was so much heat and angst and heartbreak. So many twists and turns, new revelations and many much-awaited answers. I went on an emotional rollercoaster right alongside the characters. This series is definitely my top read of the month and a must read for all omegaverse lovers. Newbies just try it!! You won't regret anything!! 😊❤️
Awake at Last by Anna Fury is a dystopian omegaverse romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Thomas Locklear and Avery Reid. This is the fifth and final book in the Alpha Compound series.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Alice and Mitchell. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Thomas and Avery did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dystopian romance, shifter romance, omegaverse romance, or romantic suspense.
Mitchell & Alice are couples goals! Usually when you read a series the first books the best. But this series kept getting better and better. It was the level of spice and the ongoing story. They are both so freaking good. We get the conclusion of the Alpha Compound Series and I am so damn sad it's over. The chemistry and relationship Alice & Mitchell had was phenomenal!! I loved them so much.
I have said it a million times, I wanna live in this world. I will always be a die hard @ fan because of this series. Can't wait to see what other stuff she comes up with.
Good All The Way Through
If I had words to describe this book, I would give you a long and drawn out review. However, the best I can do is that... I wanted Alice to never forgive Mitchell. It seemed like the only thing that was right. But, I knew it would happen. I never imagined how hard I would root for them in the end. There were restless nights working my way through this book. I set it down and picked it up and agonized over it.
The drama of it is real. And, part of me would go through it again and again because I know how much it was worth it.
