This moving story is beautifully written. It demonstrates how abuse can occur in a seemingly "normal" family with no one aware of what goes on behind closed doors. It also shatters myths surrounding child abuse by explaining why children and some adults keep the abuser's secret. We now "really get it" and can fully understand and empathize for the first time with victimized children.
