So awfully bitter, you’ll know me by the aftertaste.
I can’t tell you where I’m going, and I can’t begin to understand where I’ve been, but I’m alive. Alive and alone, until a savior presents himself in tattered clothes and a frayed beanie.
Taking me under his protection, the promise of a tomorrow seems to be within reach after all. He shows me how to navigate the city, how to steal and survive. And just when I think I might have a future running the streets, my world comes to a halt for pair of stunning hazel eyes. The boy attached isn’t too bad either.
But when a group of armed men and a mom I didn’t know I had throw my world into chaos, I’m forced to choose between my head and my heart. Spoiler alert – young love never lasts.
This is a prequel novella for the I Love Candy Series, giving Candy the origin story she desperately needed. Trigger Warning - Described from the perspective of a thirteen-year-old runaway, there is violence and angst throughout. No abuse is described, although very faintly hinted at.
Maddison Cole is a married mum of two, and a serial daydreamer. As a huge fan of fantasy romance novels for the past 7 years, she has finally decided to put pen to paper (finger to keyboard doesn't sound as poetic) and begin to write her own.
As a child, life was moving around the UK and a short stint in the Caribbean, before Maddison has found herself back in the south east of England where she is now happily settled. With a double award in applied arts and an A-level in art history, Maddison is just your average musical-loving, Disney-obsessed, jive-dancing woman with a dark passion for steamy fantasy books.
Findin' Candy by Maddison Cole is a reverse harem dark humor romance.
This is the prequel to the I Love Candy series. This book can be read at any time since it is Candy's origin story.
I was so excited when Maddison announced she was doing an origin story for Candy, and she did not disappoint. Candy's story is heartbreaking, but it really made me understand how her personality and attachment issues came about.
I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, dark humor romances, or reverse harem romances.
MUST READ This prequel like just does such an amazing job of giving us Candys beginning. During the series Candys past is eluded to and we can pretty much picture how shitastic it was but I NEVER EVER SAW THIS COMING!!!!
All I can say is my poor poor Candy. Eff Patrick like seriously Eff him hard with no lube, MY POOR SWEET AUGUST....NOOOOOO.....😭😭😭😭😭😭 im broken!!!! And.....So THATS how Angus came to be???!!!! Thats definitely one way to depict dissociative identity disorder!
I wish so many things went different for Candy (and August) especially since I never saw that ending coming BUT if it wasnt for all that Candy wouldnt be then Insanely Crazy and Psychotic Badas* B*tch that she is. And Im grateful for her just the way she is. Just makes me wanna hug her hold her and squeeze her!
If after book 3 you could possibly have even 1 question left then it has to be about where/ jow Candy began and this bonus book covers where it all started and has some SERIOUS Twists. So bittersweet to see the series end. But damn did it end good!
Well Dang. I knew it was going to be emotional but I didn't expect to feel broken after that last chapter. My heart hurts and I've got mascara running down my cheeks but atleast I have the knowledge of what happens next.
A young Candy on the run from the people that hurt her, meeting a mentor, finding a friend and falling in love. It's a blur to a teenage girl that worried about losing her toes to frostbite and where exactly she's sleeping that night. Patrick is there to help when Candy needs him most with his knowledge of the streets and the skill to show our wee Candy how to get by with just a sly flick of the wrist. August is something that Candy never saw coming or ever expected. A decent, sweet and caring guy. I loved seeing their connection bloom and emerge as so much more. The past always catches up and catch up it does with Candy leaving us with a heartbreaking outcome and the true start to Candy Crystal the one and only.
This was an awesome read that will keep you reading from beginning to end. The characters are amazing and you will love finding out how it all started. This book is a must read and it needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.
I really enjoyed finding out Candy’s backstory and how she became the way she was. I was upset about August, but boy does that explain a lot! Not to mention the evolution of Angus!
Ooooh what a start to a series. This was a look at what made Candy into the person she is today and i loved every second. I can't wait to read the I love Candy trilogy now. Amazing read.
It was good!! But I went between 2-3 stars because it could have been longer!! But I still really liked it!! I just wanted more info about her and cheese.
