Jennifer’s newest book, DRAWING EVER CLOSER, is a daily devotional covering the wisdom literature and poetic books of the Bible. Each entry is brief, yet packed with life-changing truth. If you have only a little bit of time, you can fill your soul with words of life in a few minutes. But it is also an appetizer for deeper study. Jennifer provides additional Scripture references for you to do to a deep-dive if you wish.

I am a huge fan of Psalms and Proverbs. But my favorite section in her devotional is the one on Song of Songs—filled with truth that will challenge and encourage not only your marriage, but your relationship with Jesus as well.

DRAWING EVER CLOSER is beautiful, with lots of room for making your own notes. It will be an excellent addition to your devotional library.

A delightful devotional, beautifully thought through and presented. Each day has a devotion that is short enough for even the busiest person to squeeze into their day, yet packed full of insight and thought-provoking themes. Although this book is primarily aimed at women, there is nothing about it that suggest it is only for women. I loved it and will make good use of it in the days and years to come.

I really love this devotional. It is unlike any I have read before. It focuses on Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, and Job. These are books I have read before. But using this devotional has given me a new appreciation for those books. This devotional has so many golden nuggets of truth sprinkled throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent diving into each day’s reading.

I’m not sure I ever reviewed a daily devotional before, but I have to admit writing a review provides an opportunity to actually stop and think what it really meant to me. And I realize now that I prefer a devotional geared more to teaching than storytelling. This book has them both and does one of the things a daily devotion should: opens the way for further study. It will be an excellent addition to your daily quiet/study time.

This book is an excellent devotional guide. It covers Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon in 365 devotional readings. The readings are short, making it easy to add them to a daily Bible reading practice or use them as a jumping off place for further study. Though they are short, the content of each reading is substantial and thought provoking. I felt myself both convicted and encouraged at many points in reading this book. I highly recommend this devotional for anyone who wants to take their walk with the Lord seriously.

A daily devotional that helps you draw close to God every day. Simple enough to walk thru quickly in your busy day, but deep enough to strengthen you faith and spiritual walk. Whether you enjoy it during your daily quiet time before breakfast or grab a “snack” in the middle of the day, this book definitely offers food for your soul!
