Poet, author, musician, steel worker, award-winning photojournalist, amateur astronomer. I've worked security for Facebook and NVIDIA, volunteered for the American Red Cross teaching CPR and First Aid, and at WQED TV on the lighting and floor crew for Mister Rogers Neighborhood. As a Software Engineer, I wrote the first accounting software for Microsoft Windows which became Peachtree Accounting for Windows, and worked for a company where I helped pioneer internet video conferencing.
I've been a Line Cook, EMT, and HAZMAT Tech. I was also a Day Manager of the infamous Casa Marina Hotel in San Francisco, where I lived with Vietnam Veterans, drug dealers, prostitutes, exotic dancers, and people released by then Governor Ronald Reagan from the state's mental hospitals. Burning Man folks know me as Ranger Rigged with 12 events out in the dust.
I love hiking, sailing, body surfing, snorkeling, playing guitar, cooking, and stargazing.
I've had a lifelong interest in the sciences and science fiction and bring a broad range of experience to the genre.
