Sam Gregory is a Watcher, a human-angel hybrid built for eternity and hell-bent on avenging his father’s murder. He’s given up earthly distractions to hunt the demon responsible, so when he crosses paths with Chloe Thibodeaux and discovers her empathic powers and an intense attraction, he fears she’s at the center of an ancient prophecy that involves them all.
Confronted with options, Sam must discern between free will and predestination. If he makes the wrong choice, literal hell on earth breaks loose. If he makes the right choice, he and Chloe ride into the sunset and the world will ever know how close they came to losing everything.
Making the right choice sounds simple, until the woman you’re falling in love with might die in the process, and the only thing you want is her.

The storyline was somewhat fresh and unique. I also enjoyed how Sam and Chloe dealt with their quest. Accepted it and did what was necessary to turn it around.
I think that the story was so intricate and full of twists and turns. And I would enjoy it more if the story was longer - giving all the elements more time to fall more naturally into their place!
Christy Lynn did a wonderful job of narration. The story comes together beautifully!
I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This story continues in the life of a full-grown Chloe and what occurred after her grandmother died. You also get to actually meet Henry's son Sam, and all his anger and insecurities. Narrator does a good job with the characters and the Entire Storyline
Sam (half angel) and Chloe (empath) — is their love because of fate and prophecy, or is it true and of their free will?
I liked watching the chemistry and attraction between Sam and Chloe build naturally through the story as they dealt with inner conflicts about whether what they feel for one another is real or not.
There was also an outside conflict in the form of an unstoppable villain who had plans for each of them.
The narrator did a nice job bringing the story to life.
We found out a lot about Sam's backstory and family. Chloe's family is mentioned a few times. I was glad to see the next book will address some of the questions I had.
A nicely woven story with unique world building. An enjoyable listen!
I enjoyed this listen! I do prefer duet/dual narration for most books. She did a great job narrating both female and male parts. I always listen at a faster speed than 1×.
The level of description was ok. I really liked Sam's character. I loved several aspects of this book, especially the approach to empaths, fallen a gels, and a demi-angel type species called the Gregory.
My heat rating is based on the length of scenes, the amount of occurrence, how explicit, and how filthy/unconventional the scenes are. There are a few scenes. Not unconventional and explicit but not very maybe 2/5 🌶.
This is an interesting and intriguing story line. It is a new story in the "Midheaven" series. The story has empaths and angels. This one is about Sam and Chloe. Sam is half angel and Chloe is an empath. I like how these two worked out whether what they were feeling was true, fate or part of something bigger. The story is good and the narrator did a really good job. I did listen to the audiobook of this story.
Chloe and Sam. Both out of their depth. Chloe lost her grandmother when she was 16 and the few short years since then have meant she doesn't have a clue on the things she ought to know given her gift. Sam, having tried to avoid his father for soo long, also doesn't know whats next. They are thrown together and with a prophecy to fulfil. Alterations are made, and the ending shows much more intrigue to come for the couple.
Are our choices that make up our lives, truly our choice? Or is it fate? Sam (half angel) and Chloe (empath) struggle with prophecy and fate, or if the are acting on their own free will. Clashing at first, their attraction grows and romance develops. I found the story interesting.

Not really my cup of tea in the end, this novel didn’t really hold my interest to the point of caring what happens moving forward unfortunately. This will be a series but not one I’ll continue with. It did have a bit of potential but it didn’t hit home for me.
2.5 star listen narration was done ok but didn’t save the rating. Sorry!
A story of fate or free will. Sam is a half angel and Chloe is a empath find themselves struggling with prophecy and fate. When the two meet they clashing , but their attraction grows and romance develops. If Sam makes a wrong choice, hell on earth will breaks loose. The right choice brings love, but a death can make the right one the wrong choice.
While I can't say this is something I'd typically read, it certainly made for an interesting work listen. I can say the beginning was a little slow for my interest but once the setting is set it did pick up.
Overall, it was a pretty interesting listen
I received a free copy of the story and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story offers a unique take on the constant struggle of good vs evil. In this case angels and demons. There is a love story tied into the mix. Not from either side but from the humans or one particular human caught in the middle.
There was also a prophecy thrown in. Who doesn't like a good prophecy!
This book was really good. It was different than what I’m used to, and I really liked the storyline. Angels, empaths, healing abilities, fallen angels….really cool stuff! I loved the relationship that developed between Sam and Chloe, I was really hoping that’s where it would go! Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I loved this audiobook. The storyline and characters are interesting. The need to prevent evil from prevailing is the key for Chloe and Sam. They are not sure if they can do it. If they fail what will befall the future of humanity. Narrator Christy Lynn did a great job.
