Three stars ⭐⭐⭐

Emily was simply doing her job when someone heartlessly shot her boss in front of her. Kostya is an assassin. He takes Emily with him when he leaves so she can't go to the police. From there, it gets really steamy! There's several intense scenes that take your breath away. Other than the smut, I wish I liked the actual story more.

safety:

rough sex
spanking
no cheating/sharing

I love listening to the melodic bass voice of Skyler Morgan, especially when he deepens it for the sexy scenes lol. I enjoyed this storyline of Kostya and Emily. The animal sanctuary was touching for the tough alpha assassin showed he is unemotional and capable of love.

Piper Stone has, in my opinion, given us the best book of the entire series up to now. 'Beautiful Devil' is the second book in her "Saints and Sinners" series and it describes our Hero to a "T". As a matter of fact, this book is written so well it could pass as a standalone even though it's part of the series. And speaking of the series, if you've followed along up until now, then you'll recognize the antihero in this book, Kostya aka Ghost, the assassin. With me so far? The premise is dark and gritty while the characters are full of personality, whether good or bad, yet somehow I always wind up rooting for the bad guy. And the heroine? They're usually strong, independent women with tender hearts. I just love Piper Stone's stories.

“Beautiful Devil” is one of the best books I’ve read by author Piper Stone. It’s the 5th book in the ‘Sinners and Saints’ series. You can read and enjoy it as a standalone. However, if you’ve read any of the other books in the series, you’ll recognize the antihero in this one – it’s Kostya, the cunning assassin referred to as the Ghost.

This is a tricky review to write because the book is full of so many twists and turns, and I don’t want to spoil any of them for you. Emily is working after hours at her new job as a waitress in a small diner in New York City and witnesses the assassination of her boss. The killer didn’t expect anyone to be there except his target and forces her to go with him as he flees the scene. Because the stiory is told from dual points of view, we are made aware of Emily’s thoughts regarding lessons her father taught her about weapons and self-defense. Her father was an undercover DEA agent who was extraordinarily successful at his job … until he got caught and paid the ultimate price. Now his wife and daughter are equally at risk, even though he did what he could to protect them. Emily doesn’t even understand everything her father was involved in, but she does quite clearly understand that she’s being held captive by a cold-blooded, cold-hearted monster of a man who could at any moment decide to kill her. Kostya knows he’s not at all worthy of a woman like Emily, but he can’t seem to resist his feelings for her, no matter how much he tries to do so. He’s a master of self-control – except when it comes to her.

I’d never have expected I could want an unremorseful, paid killer to have a happy conclusion to his story - but somehow, I did! Kostya is a surprisingly deep character whose layers are slowly revealed to us, and to himself. Emily is a capable and resilient woman, simultaneously sweet and strong. Before the book even begins, she’s already had to step away from her chosen profession, deal with heartache and heartbreak, and cope with a lot of pressure and responsibility. Be warned that particularly in the first steamy parts of the book, there are some seriously murky issues of consent; if you’re familiar with the author then it won’t surprise you, and if you’re not, just remember it’s fiction. Even when they’re arguing about something, the heat level between Emily and Kostya is off the charts. Emily’s mother and Kostya’s second-in-command are good secondary characters, as are a special dog, lioness, and lion cub. The ending is fittingly dramatic and satisfying. I’m looking forward to seeing what this author has planned next!.

This is the fifth book in the Sinners and Saints series each book can be read as a standalone with a sexy guy determined not to find love yet the women, he takes to ensure her silenced steals his heart without even trying. Buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a deliciously story that can be read in an hour or so 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, arranged marriage, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe love (to be expected in the mafia world). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!!
Emily grew up with a father who was an undercover DEA agent, never wanting his job to touch her but if it should he taught her how to protect herself enough to run or keep herself safe, she also knew how to shoot should the need arise or find herself in a situation that requires it, and she mastered the skills of protecting herself. One evening at work she finds herself in a situation she never thought she would be in, yet she comes face to face The Ghost. Kostya sexy as all assassins known as The Ghost with a reputation proceeding him, doing a job as instructed taking out the owner of the restaurant but he didn’t count on a beautiful woman being there when all this took place and so making the decision to kidnap her taking her with him to his island to makes sure she says nothing to no one changing their paths. The chemistry is insanely intense regardless of their current situation throw in a few twists and turns, a father who loves his daughter, and the chemistry neither counted on. His bosses told him to kill her no witness especially since she saw him kill her boss in the restaurant she worked as a waitress and now that word has gotten out that he took her she is still alive putting further in danger but keep in mind she is trained to protect herself, even with a weapon but can she stay alive now that he has brought her into his world, will he keep her safe, can he protect her, will he protect her or follow his bosses instructions, what happens when they find out who her father is, and where are they headed to happiness?.

Beautiful, you bet! Devilish? Delightfully so!

Overall: 5 of 5 stars Performance: 5 of 5 stars Story: 5 of 5 stars Reviewed: 12-20-22

Kostya Baranov was just doing the job he was paid to do. A very dangerous, very violent, very illegal job, when Emily Shepherd walked in and became an unwitting witness to his devilry! Oh Boy! What’s a handsome, confident (sounds sooo much better than cocky) soulless hitman to do? Why take her and keep her as HIS possession of course! Easy peasy, until it isn’t! “Beautiful Devil” is a fast paced, romantic suspense thriller that completely captivated me! The writing is Piper Stone perfection, beautiful and blazing 🥵 hot, with witty sarcastic banter, excellent scene setting, a plot that had me on the edge of my seat while feeling every emotion imaginable! The characters are all defined and developed beautifully! Some are familiar, having made appearances in the previous stories in the series, and some are being introduced for the very first time in this story. No spoilers, but I will say there are heartbreaking backstories in this one and yes, tears aplenty! There are characters who I initially liked/disliked, and through plot development, I later had a complete change of heart! Again, no spoilers, when you listen you’ll understand. While listening, I hung on every beautifully narrated word! I laughed and oh man did I cry. At times my heart was literally in my throat. I loved the way the suspense built to a crescendo! I had to use every bit of restraint I possessed to not up the speed. You could cut the tension in my mind with a knife. I owe hubby a first class meal for snapping “NOT NOW” at him when he interrupted my listening! I really loved the storyline! At times heartbreaking, and at times heart warming, I felt all the emotions, all the feels and I truly wanted a happy ever after for Kostya and Emily! I was invested in them, I was invested in their story, THIS story. Brought to life by professional quality, emotionally on point, flawlessly timed and truly entertaining narration, this complete package is truly deserving of five Fabulous Stars! I will be re-listening for certain!

I really wanted to like this book. It had a great premise, and I love the whole I’m kidnapping you and we fall in love, but damn Emily ruined it for me. I get it she was scared and was a captive, but she was also sleeping with him constantly. And not scared then might I add. Nope she was loving it. He continually showed he cared deeply for her, even if he was a little one dimensional and a little dramatic relent a style, but he still tried and she actually started to hate him more and get worse when she should’ve started going in the other direction. It became painful to read. She was obnoxious and insulting. Again I get it she was “trained” by her father but she also kept saying how she started to have feelings for Kostya. Yet she was condescending and flat out a bitch.

I expected by the midway mark to be making progress and a little spark other than in her internal dialogue to be there. Kostya kept warning her his patience with her remarks and behavior was wearing thin, and I was actually rooting for him to put her on a plane and send her home by the 46% mark. If she would’ve just opened a little bit and softened but nope. Also she asked him extremely personal questions only to berate and reject him when he asked questions. As the book wore on Kostya became redeemable Emily did not. She just turned into this bratty bitch. Which sucks because at first meeting she was great actually. Not whiny, but also not too I am woman hear me roar. She was just a cool calm and collected chick, but woof that left quickly.

I had to dnf this one. It just was like watching your brother and his shitty girlfriend and I don’t know I couldn’t put myself through it anymore. Yes he was demanding and controlling. And I cringe in every book where the guy spanks our h, but damn she was not it. Maybe I’ll come back to it, but it would have to take a serious turn and Emily would need to chill out quite a bit and start working with him to understand what’s happening instead of the I’m your prisoner and hate you yet we sleep together constantly and he caresses and cares for her deeply. It got so old.

Beautiful Devil is fifth book and final installment in the Saint and Sinners series. A dark mafia romance. OMG! If you've read the other books in the Sinners and Saints Series, you already know of Kostya or the Ghost as he is sometimes referred to. When Emily Shepherd comes face to face with the Ghost in the diner, she just began working in it, is just after he has assassinated the owner, a kindly man she believed to be a friend and protector, she is certain she will be killed as well. Somehow in a surprising twist for them both, Kostya decides to kidnap and bring her with him back to his island retreat. He is every bit the brutal and demanding man but as the passion and addiction develops between them, they find that neither of their lives will be the same. There are so many twists, turns, surprises and danger as well as exciting sexual encounters that are revealed with each turn of the page that I was hooked from the start. As the story continues, the secrets and trajectory of the story changes to where you wonder just how much of a coincidence their meeting at the diner was or was it all part of a plan set into motion long before either of them could comprehend.

I have stated in each of my reviews of the stories of the Sinners and Saints books that the latest one is the best in the series and in the case, I truly believe that this story is the best. While this story can be read as a standalone, you would be doing yourself a favor if you read the previous books in the order written so you can understand why Kostya's story had to be the final story in the series. I am sad to realize that there won't be additional stories to look forward to but reading but learning the finality this book gives to the story that probably started long before book one is worth my sadness.

A simply captivating read, totally engaging I loved every moment of this book
After reading some of the other books in this series it seems that there is a vert close connection between Kostya and the cunning and extremely elusive and effective assassin known at the Ghost.

The story is filled with lots of action and captivating characters that when you begin reading hold your attention fully, Emily is a waitress working long hours at a diner, she unfortunately sees her employer killed and the filler forces her to leave at his hostage.

Emily had a very unusual upbringing by her father who had been an undercover DEA Agent who had known how important it was that she be able to protect her self if needs arise, she could shoot and fight and protect herself if needed and it was a skill she had mastered.

This was a very deep and complex read and the characters had been written beautifully with a great deal of care and attention and it is this that makes this book such a captivating read. I hate to be one of these reviewers that give away too much about a book they have read and subsequently spoil the plot for future readers so I will say no more.

I congratulate the author Piper Stone on a book that has been a captivating, engaging and very well written book from start to finish. I am honoured that I had the opportunity to ARC read and review it and look forward to future titles.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

“The reality of what was happening between us was entirely different than I’d anticipated.”

Another winning entry in the Sinners and Saints series this time we have Kostya, the ruthless assassin called the Ghost. Dangerous, violent, and unremorseful he’s the last man I would think of as the hero in a romance novel but here he is and yes, I found myself caring about him and wanting him to find love and a HEA. I also believe no one but Emily could have ever found a way into his heart and brought it to life. He’s such an amazing and complex character, I never guessed there was so much underneath the surface.

I’m not saying anything about the plot. Read the blurb and avoid spoilers in other reviews. This is one of those books you don’t want to know much before you read it.

This series is hands down Piper’s best yet. I’m still amazed as the first book in the series, Beautiful Villain, was such an average start to it. I actually recommend you skip it and start with Beautiful Sinner and go from there. The series just keeps getting better and better and I really don’t want it to end. Most of all I’m waiting for Niccolo’s story. I just know his will be best of all. I’m guessing Piper will save him for last and am positive he will be well worth the wait. In the meantime I thoroughly enjoyed Kostya and Emily’s exciting love story. It’s got everything I love in a dark Mafia/Bratva romance.

Kostya Baranov is not a kind man. He is a killer. He certainly didn’t expect to find a witness to his job. Emily Shepard was just finishing up at work when she was in the wrong place and the wrong time. Now she is a captive for this big strong scary man. But there is something about him that draws her in. When Kostya finds out who she truly is, he punishes her for her lies. We start off with a BANG. Literally! Witnessing a hit and then being taken. Then you wonder who this woman is. She doesn’t like the city and seems to be hiding. But she can kick butt. She is a fighter and I love that about her. She is smart and can hold her own. These two burn hot from the beginning. Kostya is the Ghost that you read about in the other books in the series. He is hard, cruel and will not allow anything or anyone to get in his way. With Emily, she slowly breaks down his wall. Kostya makes her see that the passion that he has for her is more then she could ever want. We also read about his past along with Demetri and the Kozlov. We need to find someone for Diego. He deserves to find happiness.

Emily is not oblivious to the dangers in the world, but she doesn't spend much time worrying about those dangers until her boss is murdered in front of her. Kostya, the assassin, takes Emily with him, rather than shoot her too. Her has never taken a captive, but she now belongs to him. There her adventure begins. She has lost her previous life completely, and is constantly hunted by very bad men. Only Kostya can keep her safe.
Emily is not your typical heroine. A pediatrician, she has a tender heart. As she falls in love, she is not happy about it. She does not believe Kostya is capable of loving her, or anyone for that matter. He has never known peace or love in his life. Somehow this anti-Hero develops feelings for Emily that he never imagined. This love story is a little bit different from Piper Stone's other work. It's rougher, less gentle in the end. Dreams don't exactly come true. It is, however a six star book in a five star framework. This conclusion to the Sinners and Saints book is poignant, and spectacular. Don't hesitate to one click this one.

Great Series

Spice 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
There was actually so much spice in this book with the same repeated descriptors that I got bored with it.

I really enjoyed the series and this book is getting the overall rating for all 5 books. I have given the books individually 5 stars but realized it wasn't really fair to other 5 star books when this entire series has one issue that had me grinding my teeth by the last book, and that is the lack of basic editing. You don't even need a professional to pick out the easy to find errors. From missing words and the wrong words to changing between past and present tense it drove me nuts. Especially during important scenes and sex scenes. It really messed up the flow.

This book also seemed to have more sex than the others, which I normally love, but there was sooo much of it that I found myself flipping through and past them by the 60% mark so I could get to the plot and story. I still highly recommend the series but there is no excuse for the easy to fix errors that a 3rd grader could recognize to make it to print in every book by this author or publishing co-op.

Wow talk about things work a full circle in saying that, this story was exhilarating. Piper Stone has handed us a brilliant book probably the best one I have read and I absolutely loved all the other books. The fantastic characters Kostya and Emily they were so hot for each other and then he would have reminded her he is a Devil a bad man, after all he is an assassin and killed her boss in front of her and taken her hostage. He has been told he has to kill her considering she saw him kill her boss. Emily worked as a waitress before her life turned up side down when Kostya rolled up into her life, so when news gets wind that he has her, her life will be in danger now Emily was trained in all weaponry, Bullets and knows how to defend herself but can she defend herself against him and anyone else. I do recommend getting this book to read it is so worth it you will not be disappointed.

Another magnificent addition to this series!
I absolutely loved everything about this book. It's a compelling read that is fast-paced, action packed and erotic - it was impossible to put down.
Once again this author gives me a mafia read that has it all - action, intrigue, danger, violence, deceit, lies, secrets, assassins, murder, stalking, suspense, emotions, inner turmoil, intense passion and twist and turns that makes this story a very exciting read.
These two characters are totally opposite, one takes lives and the other saves it. Kostya is an assassin and Emily is a doctor.
The chemistry between these two is combustible with some steamy scenes that is off the charts blazing hot. As their relationship develops so does the danger surrounding them.
Kostya and Emily took me on a thrilling journey that had me on the edge of my seat with my heart racing and my blood pumping, I loved every second of it and their happy ending!
Highly recommended.

I just love Piper Stone’s stories! This is the story of Kostya (The Ghost) and Emily. Kostya is an assassin and is dark, dangerous, ruthless, broken, and emotionless. He is out to destroy those who have “leaked” his information. Emily is a pediatrician who is working as a waitress while she is also taking care of her sick mother. Emily is caring, smart, sassy, and strong. Her father was part of the DEA so he taught her how to protect herself and how to get herself out of situations if they should arise. Only this time, she isn’t able to get out of this situation.

Emily wants to hate everything about Kostya, but her body keeps betraying her. Kostya wants to dominate Emily, but somewhere along the way, he starts to feel a protectiveness over her. This story is full of twists and turns, drama, violence, passion, intensity, chaos, deception, secrets, and truths. I cannot wait to see what Piper Stone comes out with next – I will definitely be reading for sure. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

His beautiful flower…

Emily Shephard is a pediatrician by trade but circumstances have her taking a job in a diner when she abruptly returns to New York. There she witnesses the murder of her boss by Kostya. He is an assassin who leaves no witnesses but instead of killing her he decides to takes her captive. To say they butted heads is an understatement. She was strong willed, fierce, defiant, demanding and passionate. He was demanding, brutal, dangerous and a true killer. Their storyline is intense, dark, violent, action packed, sexual and passionate. When secrets are revealed and betrayals come to light will either of their lives be the same?

She was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hot and spicey! Piper has written another charts book full of heat and sin. She takes us back to the underworld filled with demons and devils. This book is an adventure that is as good if not better than the other books in this series. He was everything she hated and gorgeous to boot. She has been taught to take care of herself, but her training never included anyone like him. Will he overwhelm her with his strength and animal attraction? A current of heat that flows between them surprises them both. Kostya was an assassin/problem solver and Emily was a waitress with a secret. Their story is filled with many twists and turns. If you like hot twisted explicit scenes this is the book for you. There are triggers in this book, so beware.

This is another great story from Piper Stone. I was on the edge of my seat it was so good. There is a kidnapping of a witness with plenty of steam and action. Kostya is an assassin and after Emily saw him kill her boss the alpha male takes Emily with him to his island so she can't tell anyone. Their chemistry is outstanding and super hot. There are twists and turns, violence, darkness, spankings, domination, and lots of action. Will Kostya keep Emily safe? Will Kostya keep Emily alive or listen to his bosses orders? Intriguing story. Loved it.

All I can say is WOW! I love this series and this one is really a fantastic episode. Kostya, aka The Ghost, is the man to hire for high-risk assassinations. He kills a man he suspects has compromised his identity, only to find Emily witnessing the murder. Rather than killing her as well, he kidnaps her and ultimately takes her to his secret home. Their attraction leads to some really hot sex scenes. The suspense and dangerous situations never end. Kostya sees himself as a criminal with no redeeming qualities. Emily alternates between hating him and being drawn to him. Great characters and an edge-of-your-seat story!

Skyler Morgan narration brings out the action, heat and grit in this book. Perfect to listen to.

Emily witnesses a murder while working in the restaurant and the hit man has been ordered to leave no witnesses. Kostya is the assassin. He takes Emily with him when he leaves so she can't go to the police.
Emily is one smart, caring, smart, and strong woman. Her father was part of the DEA so he taught her how to protect herself. Problem is she can not see away out this. Her head says no but her body keeps saying yes to the the very demanding Kostya.
This story is full of twists and turns, drama, violence, passion, very hot senses , intensity,

Talk about bad timing or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's just the situation Emily Shephard finds herself in when she comes in contact with Kostya. Beautiful Devil is the bumpy, emotional,  beautiful journey of a killer and his hermosa flor. Things definitely are not traditional with these two and to say they have a rocky start would a gross understatement but, this author takes us on a steamy, wild, unexpected ride along the way. Ms. Stone never fails to bring an incredible story and this one is no exception.

Ghost!!!!! I cannot believe a story about an unrepentant assassin could make me cry so much and so hard. Damn, tears still flowing as I write this review. I shouldn’t like Kostya so much but he endeared himself to me in so many ways. What I really loved about Emily was her “no holds barred” attitude with Kostya. No weeping flower. She was his flower. I am pretty much without words for the emotions this story brought out. This story wrecked me for the day. Piper, fantastic story.

Beautiful Devil by Piper Stone is a standalone dark romance with elements of BDSM. This story has a HEA and no cliffhanger.

Kostya Baranov is an assassin who is in high demand. Emily Shephard is working at a diner and witnesses her boss being murdered by Kostya. Kostya was not expecting anyone to be in the diner and is unsure what to do with Emily, so he takes her with him until he can decide how to handle her.

This book is dark, twisted, very spicy and against the odds they fell in love, but there are secrets that can tear them apart.

Beautiful Devil continues the Sinners and Saints series with the story of Kostya, an unrepentant sinner who nevertheless hides a side of himself that's worth saving. And Emily, who at first appears to be all sweetness and light, hides secrets and a darker side that prove to be just perfect for Kostya. While this book has the usual villains, set in a world of organized crime as it is, it has one very unique savior and a sweet happy ending.

Another phenomenal read in the Sinners and Saints collection. An assassin known as the Ghost takes Emily hostage as she witnesses a crime. I wouldn’t think I’d like Ghost so much, but boy I fell in love with him! The story actually brought tears to my eyes. They both had there share of demons but were so perfect for one another. Oh, and the heat between the two were off the charts! I would highly recommend this series! I received an advanced copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

So many twists, turns, deceit, violence, and love in this great read! Kostya was abandoned at an orphanage as an infant, but he survived and thrived in a Mafia environment not knowing his origins. He was known as the Ghost and was obscenely wealthy. He would not leave any place in his life for love, until he kidnapped Emily after a botched assassination. Strangely enough he discovers she is the daughter of a deceased DEA agent who had been tracking him. Great read with strong characters and great world building.

Kostya knows that Emily is the daughter of an enemy, but he cna't let her go. He finds that she's the light to his darkness and he's drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Emily knows that he's a bad man, but she's powerless against him. Their passion ignites. So hot, so steamy and with such a complex action and danger interwoven throughout. Layers upon layers of intrigue kept me up till the very end! Loved it!.
