Pete Moon is a Reluctant Entrepreneur, Aspiring Publisher and Founder of 'Moonster Handmade Leather' - 7 Figure Global ECommerce Business.
He started out with a next-to-useless Media Degree at Cardiff University in the UK. He went back to study again at a Bible College, then swiftly 'failed' at becoming a Pastor. This led him to retrain as a plumber/kitchen fitter and then set up his first company.
In his "spare time" (burning the candle at both ends), he began to build a second business from scratch - what is now a multi-million physical products business, selling in 10 online marketplaces worldwide.
Currently Pete is working on a third digital products ecom business and is always dreaming about other possible future start-ups.
Pete's passions include snowboarding, biking & hiking mountains, faith, reading and dark chocolate.
I enjoyed this, but I found it more of a self-help/personal development book rather than a business book. It is basically what it says on the cover and mainly talks about creating a good mindset behind starting a business. Topics include having a growth mindset towards failure, continuous learning and putting things into action before feeling completely ready. The information was well-organised and easy to read.
Some interesting insights and helpful tips in relation to developing a mindset for starting your business, but a lot of it is focused on big business, selling products and for starting up a business to grow into a big venture so as a sole trader in holistic field of wellness found a lot of the information not relevant or workable for my circumstances, but did find a few elements interesting and helpful with creating a mindset for day to day living and some tips for perspective for starting a business in general. Interesting and pleasant listen but for me a background listen with very little relevance or help to start a business unfortunately as a sole trader. If you have a product to make, create, sell and want to create a large business with lots of employees may be more relevant. Received a free audiobook in exchange for leaving an honest review.
Strong foundational advice for a first-time Entrepreneur. As a cereal Entrepreneur of over two decades, I would have been satisfied with a few gems, however I think this book is targeted at the 'would be' budding entrepreneur and leaves very little for someone who has five or more years of boots on the ground experience.
The author is working very hard to pack in a lot of details and may wander off track from time to time (IMHO), but generally speaking it's all good sound advice.
Author breaks down the journey of an entrepreneur into 10 lessons. Each lesson provides a wealth of information and tips and tricks for entrepreneurs to stay the course. Author also takes a holistic approach to the life of an entrepreneur not just focusing on business aspects. A must read for budding entrepreneurs.
