What happens when swashbuckling pirates meet time traveling twenty-first century women?
Edward Sutherland has always been a self-assured and confident man of the sea. He’s spent years alongside his friend and captain Jameson Mackall and until now has only ever wanted to find treasure and retire a wealthy man. He wasn’t expecting to travel through time and he certainly wasn’t expecting to meet a woman who would challenge and impress him at every turn.
Susanna Cole has lost her best friend in a boating accident. In a deep state of grief she is about to close her once thriving business when a stranger walks through her door with a letter from her friend. A letter dated 1724. Can she believe this man? Or is he playing some cruel joke.
Two strangers with one goal, to get back to the year 1724. There are plans to be made, treasure to be found and most importantly they must locate the one woman who can possibly help them in their quest. The feelings they are developing for one another will be put to the test when history as it is written comes into play and the life of Edward Sutherland is on the line.

Jennae Vale is absolutely fabulous. She knows just what her readers want out of a time travel book and she certainly delivers. This book had me from the get go and I hung on every word. I really enjoy the adventures that the characters get up to in this series. You never know what's going to happen next so it keeps you on your toes. The ending was perfect and it left me with a wistful smile on my face. I will not soon forget this book and I recommend it to time travel readers everywhere. Ms. Vale you have truly outdone yourself once again.
The Golden Hook is a fantastic read! I got hooked, no pun intended, on this series with the prequel The Dagger that sets the stage beautifully for this first book in the series. Edward and Susanna’s story spans both past and present, includes time travel and many other elements that make this tale a must read. He’s from the past she’s from modern day and they are both seeking adventures that will leave the reader wanting for more! The characters are so well developed and cross both the prequel and this book the reader is drawn deeply into their worlds and can’t help but care greatly about them. Though this is a series it can easily be read as a stand alone. I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review and I can tell you I’m so drawn into this world I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Jennae Vale, what can I say? The Dagger, The Green Skye at Night and The Golden Hook are books I looked forward to reading. I love this authors time travel romance stories. They are fun, the characters are well blended. There are battles, they are pirates after all, but the battle of wills between Rourke and Lizette ( Prequel) Danielle and Jameson in book 1 and then Edward and Susanna in book 2 ...they kept things moving. When you add Hawkes, Samuel, Charlotte and Addie to this mix ummm I kinda felt sorry for the guys, those women were strong willed and gutsy. The end of book two pulls this series together well. I would recommend this series in a heartbeat.
This is the third book in the series. Although it flows on from the others, it can be read as a stand-alone. I loved this book as much as the others. The characters were wonderfully written and the adventure was great. It was made special because it was set in both time frames, 1700 and 2021. Once again it is a nice change to get away from Scotland time travel. There are enough twists and turns to keep you reading. I received this as an ARC and freely give my review.
I love all of this authors books. I actually read this one before the previous two, which I will be reading shortly! This such a good story of a playboy pirate who found his match, too bad she is from the future, and likes her life there. Can she tame this wild pirate? Will he convince her to leave the future, since he loves being a pirate? This is worth the read to see what happens!
Wow, I read this in two days only because my eyes were to tired last night to finish it. I love the fact that Jameson’s best buddy got his story. How fitting that it was with the best friends. Jennae Vale has done it again. Keep writing and I will keep reading anything you produce. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Wow. Just finished reading all three books but this was a wonderful book encompassing all the characters from the prior books as they fit into the main characters lives. I hope there are more books in this series.
