When a scientist goes missing, along with all his research, it’s up to Jake Noble to stop a nuclear war.
A doomsday device is on the open market. Jake Noble, along with Ezra Cook and Gwendolyn Witwicky, are dispatched to eastern Europe to track down the missing scientist. They find themselves hunted by a terror organization hell bent on changing the world. It’s a race against time. Will Jake have to sacrifice a friend to stop a global catastrophe?
I was born and raised in sunny Saint Petersburg, FL on a steady diet of action movies and fantasy novels. After 9/11, I left a career in photography to join the United States Army. Since then, I have travelled the world and done everything from teaching English in China to driving a forklift. I studied creative writing at Eckerd College and wrote four hard-boiled mysteries for Delight Games before releasing the first Jake Noble book. When not writing, I can be found indoor rock climbing, playing the guitar, and haunting smoke-filled jazz clubs in downtown Saint Pete. I’m currently at work on another Jake Noble thriller. Noble Storm (Jake Noble Series 6) is an adventure that will keep you reading
Another great adventure from author William Miller. If you are not already familiar with Jake Noble, you are missing several very enjoyable stories. To me Jake is a combination like an Daniel Craig's 007 character. This book, Noble Storm, brings to mind the current events in Ukraine, but more importantly the corruption that is always driven by money, regardless of who suffers. I enjoyed every Jake Noble book I've read including this one.
More all action no fluff for Jake Noble. The dynamics between the two geeks and a super spy were so refreshing and fun. As always, the end has you begging for more. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Jake Noble must take his 2 CIA analysts with him when he goes to pre-war Ukraine to find a missing scientist. They find plans for a very powerful electromagnetic pulse device that could take out a country's entire power grid and they realize why the scientist was kidnapped. The 2 analysts - Gwen and Ezra from previous books - are not real field agents, but prove very helpful in their own way.
Although a bit silly and humorous at times, the action picks up as the story progresses. I've read the whole series in order and enjoyed it. Jake is sort of a slightly simplified Mitch Rapp or Court Gentry, so I'm bound to like the character.
It's good, but it lacks something. I found as I read it, I knew what would happen next, no real surprises and no tension. It's pretty obvious how things will progress and even the ending, for both the good guys and bad, were predictable It is still entertaining enough, but hopefully things will improve
A leading Ukrainian physicist is developing an EMP. An electromagnetic bomb, that his government can use against their enemies. Unfortunately, the enemy found out and kidnaped him so he could finish the bomb for them. Millions of lives are at stake. Jake and his team are tasked with finding him. Problem is, his team is a couple of geeks. Can they really help him save all those lives?
Still too much time with boring stuff and no action. At least less religion this time. I think the author needs to spend some time reading old Ludlum and Follet. It would be good to make a book a little believable at least. Makes it more nail biting and a better overall read.
Jake Noble at his best! Action and adventure at its best. Have read every book in this series and have decided this is my favorite thus far! If you like adventure with a bit of spy drama you will not be disappointed by Noble Storm!
Fast paced, read in 3 days. Hats off to all the computer geeks in our intelligence community. Evil people just can't be allowed to do as they please. Set in A setting of Ukraine and Russia, just before the invasion.
I have read the Jake Noble Series and found them totally enjoyable and could not have waited for book number six. As usual good reading good excitement. Good story.
