Nadia’s life is spinning out of control!

When a threat emerges from the shadows, Nadia’s duplicitous yet tightly controlled life is thrown out of balance.

Finding herself alone and cut off from the Queen’s Wraiths, she can do little but witness it when the city of Agartha falls under attack. Aided by Harmiston, the new Chronicler in the Cube, she makes her way through the remnants of the chaos in search of her friend Victoria, who has gone missing.

When they enter the Royal Palace, the last place Victoria was seen, they find things are not as quiet in there as in the rest of the defeated city. The Queen of Agartha is being hunted by Kassemyr’s followers. To avoid her becoming a pawn in the vampire’s bloody game, Nadia must decide whether to keep to the Wraiths’ code and get the Queen’s Ghosts to trust her.

As more of their enemies come closer, Nadia has to do everything in her power to save them all, but even greater power may yet be within reach with someone else. Someone close to her…

I think it helps that these entries in the series are so short. There is just enough time for a little addition to the story. But not enough time to get annoyed that Nadia seems to be never changing, learning or growing. Or maybe she is, and it will be more obvious once the whole series is put together. In all fairness she is making some progress in her life in general, but her internal turmoil still feels slow to change.
