Italian Protectors #3

My Fluffy Mafia Daddy

Rate this book
I've been locked in a warehouse for eight years.

I was playing in my treehouse when the evil men took me.
They brought me to a warehouse and threw me in a cage.
Now I find myself standing in an alley covered in blood next to a dead body.
I have no memories and no recollection of who I am.
The only person I can see is the man at the end of the alley.
He's big and brawny and I think he's the teddy bear in shining armor I've been waiting for my entire life.
He tells me to come with him because if I don't, my captors will kill me.
But is he the forever Daddy I've been dreaming about?

Or is he here to kill me too...

This is the THIRD book in the Italian Protectors series! It follows BENEDETTO, a.k.a. the cinnamon roll Mafioso who rescues puppies, and his secret partner! It has an age gap, Daddy kink, snuggles and cuddles, and it wraps up the suspense plot with the Diabolo's warehouse! Guaranteed HEA (and explosions -- BOOM)!

I've read this series as my reading goal of reading 1 book/month out of my comfort zone.

2⭐ because I laughed a lot, but other than that, this series is definitely not intended for a serious reader of the ddlg kink/age regression/age play or just in general a daddy kink. Read this as a light, somewhat silly afternoon read.

There's so much to unpack here, I don't even know where to begin. At this point I'm wondering if the author is taking a piss, like, is this a satire? Is this a parody on mafia books? No idea.

All 3 books in this series follow an exact formula that the author uses in every single book, almost word for word.

The Little is always a small, malnourished boy with blue eyes and no body hair, the potential Daddy rescues him and takes him to his penthouse. Then this boy wakes up in his room, has a filthy fantasy about this Daddy and jerks off, the Daddy calls him out to have breakfast that he prepared, and eventually they plan a trip to the Little's club, where this Little is playing in his onesie and plushies, goes to the hot tub naked and then has a sweet breakfast.

At this point the plot starts creeping in and it always has to do with the other rival mob families and drug or trafficking business, so while they're solving that, the author squeezes in some sweet words or groping, weird interactions with the relatives and public displays of affection and in this very short process the MMCs fall in love and get engaged.

Same plot, every book. Exactly the same.

I was really looking forward to this book though, I thought Benedetto's story will have more substance, but these mafia bros with their "big italian noses" are the mob only by name, they're more talk than action and Benedetto has proven to be just as without character and awkward as his brothers.

🔵 In this book the author tackled a sex trafficking ring and I think the execution was a complete and utter mess. These boys were in a warehouse, in cages for years, being raped and drugged, and while Wesley/Callum manages to escape, he's been there for 8 years, so I'm guessing he's traumatized, at least. He gets no therapy. No time. He just plunges into the Daddy kink.

"Benedetto trails his palm down my back. "I only came here to rescue you. I didn't plan to save any other boys.""

So the fluffy Daddy who rescues puppies and growls and grinds his teeth for the lamest of things (like his brothers), wasn't planning on rescuing the other trafficked boys? Huh.

It's really strange how in this world, there isn't a mobster who isn't a Daddy and there isn't a small twink who isn't a Little. Brothers, their business associates, relatives, they're aaallllll into this kink, not to mention this whole warehouse of boys they rescue in the end? Yep, you guessed it. They're all Littles and they all have their stuffies in those cages with them.

"I think I might be a Little, after all." Warmth bubbles up in my body. "I like the idea of playing with rubber duckies."

🌶️ The spice was almost non-existent in this book and it wasn't happening, all talk, no action.

There are some interesting debates about the size of Callum's dick. He's packing 10", OK, but the author has a weird depiction of it. His dick was supposed to hang almost to his knees and then when it's erect, it comes almost up to his pits. The math is not mathing.
And not to mention the Fluff Daddy apparently has an even bigger dick.

"You see that boy?" I let out a growl as I grind into his palm. "You're not the only one with a big dick around here!"

O...kaaaay.

And check this food - positive sex scene out.

When Wesley unleashes in my mouth, he picks up my scrambled eggs with his bare hands and stuffs his face. "Fuck yeah, Daddy!" He tops the scrambled eggs off with five white chocolate - covered strawberries. "Suck my fucking cock! Make me shoot cummies!"

🔴 It's amazing how all of these Italian big-nose-big-cock Daddies can all cook like there's no tomorrow.
But the one who tops them all, is their dominatrix Nona, who, at this point, I'm almost certain is this author.

Words like cutie, sweetie, sonny, smithereens, dialogues between men that are completely not-believable and being as open about sex in front of your relatives so it's almost cheap and tacky... yeah, that's ridiculous, to say the least.

It certainly doesn't depict a Mafia family with 3 ruthless pitbull Daddies, it's more like a bad action flick where these guys think they're bad, but they're momma's boys stuffing themselves with pasta every day and hoping the cute younger blonde guy is going to look at them.

They're pathetic poodle mobsters and Nana is a filthy wretch , spying on them being intimate with their partners and getting off on it.

"Nana turns her camera around. Get back to the kissing. It's been years since I've been this wet."

Nana nudges my ribs. "When are you going to give me grandchildren? Constantine and Gianluca haven't done it yet, so you're my only hope. You need to get to work in the bedroom."

You know, for all of Nana's kink experience, she somehow hasn't managed to realize that she's dealing with two men and none of them can get pregnant.

I reach between Daddy's legs and grope his dick. "You like kissing me, don't you, Daddy?" I lick his lips and i rub his crotch. "You're so hard."
"Oh yeah," Nana drawls. "Get to the good stuff."

🟢 And then we get to the final conflict resolve. The action scene.

Man, that was RIDICULOUS.

Are these guys mobsters or what are they exactly? They're having weird dialogues, completely not fitting into a terrible situation they're in, being held captive by another mob family , and here they are talking back and forth who's going to kill who, and in the end it's the 3 little twinks from the warehouse that rescue them ! 😂

"They have enormous italian noses that take up their entire faces." Yeah, these other mobster dudes also have "italian noses", who knew.

"This is an electronic cattle prod industrial farms use in their operations across country. You have one more chance to cooperate with us," Anton says.
Yes, because this is exactly what a mafia guy would say to you while keeping you hostage.

"Give us our boys." I fire ten shots into the ceiling to prove I'm not fucking around, "We won't ask again."
Take it directly from the mobster book - when you finally free yourself and have a gun, you shot 10 bullets into the ceiling, not at your captors!!! 😂

Benedetto tilts my chin up. "Are you okay, baby boy?" Leaning in, he rubs his nose on mine. "Did those scary men give you an ouchie?" Benedetto, my man, this is not the time or place! These guys haven't even made it out of the warehouse yet!

"They raise their machine guns and fire a barrage of bullets into the guards. Ratata."

Well, the poodle mobsters finally caught on that they have to put the bullets into the guards! 😆😆

"Oh hell yes. My Daddy is more badass than 50 Cent."

See, now I KNOW for sure this is Nana writing this book.

🟣 Another cringe-o-cringe moment comes when Callum is finally reunited with his family. His parents now have another son and he's - yep, you've guessed it! - a Little. Where are they making them, my god??

Not only that, his mom has an interesting take on age gap relationships.

"That's a perfect age gap." My mother presses her hand to her heart. "You know, when I was in college, I dated a guy in his fifties. We only quit dating when he passed away."

So many things wrong with this sentence.

This is fiction and in fiction I can get behind age-gap relationships, but in reality? No. If that mom was in college dating a man 30 years older, she was groomed and I don't support that. The author should've worded it a bit different, but fine, Nana doesn't know different, we're used to it already by now.

This series has been an interesting ride. Not well written, almost silly and how it got such high ratings is beyond me.
Maybe the good old editor quit his job and moved to Ibiza instead. I don't know, could be many things.

I'll say this : as a part of my reading challenge in the future months, I'm going to stick with this author. Yes, yes, in October I'll start with her #Deadly Daddies series, which involves precisely the boys from this warehouse. They're all Littles, as we already know, so I'll definitely check it out.

I hope Nana made some drastic changes to the stories, we'll see. 🤨😀

Disappointing

Like all of them books in this series, the asking of belief that one needs to suspend is to much to make sense.

I'll start with the things I like , because in all honesty I've only kept reading in hopes that things would click for Aster and the story would finally pay off. I absolutely love the basic theme of the books. This one just tugged on my heart strings. A big fluffy Mafia Daddy looking for his boy, and the boy who's lost and totally confused? Yes please! Having characters that make recurring appearances, that's awesome because they are funny as hell.

However, when you read the story it never lives up to the potential. As with all the books, you get to about 14% where you have to decide if you want to keep reading or abandon ship. If you've been through the whole series it's a hard decision to make because the execution of the promise it's lackluster.

As with the other books the series, the amount of repetitive thoughts (like almost word for word separated by just a few pages) makes the continuity issues in the book utterly frustrating. I'm not sure if the author has an editor or arc group, but the book and series struggled with need of it. Are they American born or did they move here? It's a small detail that in little ways is important as it comes up in the book and series often and speaks to who they are and their connections.

Believing that these men are mafia is impossible to say the least. At one point our unnamed boy said Benedito was tougher than 50 Cent. Not in any universe could these characters be mistaken as badass. I was actually hoping Benedito would boss up, but no he fell short also. He's supposed to be this badass, however it's all talk. Nothing in the actual story shows how he (or any of the Mafia characters good and bad) are believable as hitmen, enforcers, etc. They read like a parody of a parody of Mafia men.

Ok sooooo while this one is small...a whole family of kinky people who are all up in each other's business. Even I did a hard blink on this one. I just can't as much as it would be awesome... Just no.

I was ABSOLUTELY routing for this book. I wanted it to pick up to finish strong, but instead it took the ridiculous up a notch. The ending was rushed. It was however and thing I did love about the book. It could have been fleshed out better though.

Ugh, sadly I don't think I can recommend the book.

My Fluffy Mafia Daddy is the third book in the Italian Protector series and best read in order. Benedetto rescues a boy covered in blood holding a knife who doesn’t remember anything or even who he is. This story is a little darker, raw and grittier that the previous stories. There are some sensitive topics in the story. I really loved that Benedetto wasn’t just fluffy but also a little chubbier that most Daddy books give us. He felt a little more realistic. My favorite part was the set up for future stories!! I cannot wait to read them. Overall, an excellent story. Well written with pacing that grabbed me and didn’t let go.

Loved Callum and Benedetto! Another great pairing, but as far as the plotting and flow of this book, I felt like I was on a roller coaster! WHAT A RUSH!!! I couldn’t keep up. It was seamless! You managed to pull that off in a way that very few authors could! I was impressed! I’ve always loved your books, but this one was on point!

I read the other two books in this series, and I don’t recall them being this terrible. But that’s what I get for not writing a review, so I can recall how I felt about it. But I at least finished those, so I thought this one would be similar. Not to mention, I love a good rescuer trope.

However, from the very beginning, the inner thoughts of both characters made me uncomfortable. Wesley has endured years of trauma, yet his first thought upon seeing Benedetto is lust?? Yeah, no. And it just gets worse from there. Again, I can’t recall much of the other two books, but I feel like I’d remember if I hated them as much as this one. There’s something very ick about how the author has handled such a serious and sensitive topic. Even the less ick-inducing issues were problematic. Who thought it’d be a-okay to shove a kink in Wesley’s face after the sexual trauma he’s endured?? Yes, he needs friends and to feel safe, so introduce him to Arlo, Rusty, and the other brothers. But in what scenario should their kink be front and center—and taking him to a kink playroom!…as a surprise!!—before telling Wesley about it and asking him if he’d be comfortable with it. Good grief.

Then there’s the actual writing style. It’s stilted and awkward. Definitely not how mafia men would talk. I mean, I’m already suspending a great deal of belief surrounding the fact that all three guys are gay and daddies—in the mafia, no less—so it’d be great if that was where the suspension ended. No big errors or typos at least. But then there’s the incongruity of Benedetto’s physical description. He’s described as soft, a teddy bear, “rolls” is used at one point, it’s mentioned several times that his ex dumped him because of his weight. But then it’s also mentioned he has a chiseled jaw and is very strong. And the cover model is definitely not overweight. So I couldn’t figure out what type of physique the author was really going for? No overweight men I know have a chiseled jaw. And, personally, I don’t look at overweight men as strong. It just didn’t add up.

I was wanting to start another of this author’s series, but wanted to finish up this one first. Now I’m rethinking reading any more from this author at all. I’m just really disgusted right now.

Not really my kind of book. The writing style felt very distant to me and despite the book being quite long for an age-play book, things felt very rushed. Considering everything that happened to, well, 'unnamed boy' there should've been a lot more emotion. Instead he's perfectly okay with sex, he doesn't have issues with touch or spankings and he voices his demands clearly.

The things I had hoped for in this book but which I found lacking:

- I had hoped this was an age-play book. And even though there's mentions of rubber duckies, pj's, stuffies and daddies, it didn't feel like it at all. The sweet and caring relationship was severely lacking, just like discussing limits and if they were compatible. unnamed boy had never heard of a little but he just decided he was one and wanted say daddy and that was that.

- I wanted this book to have strong protectors. What unnamed boy went through was terrible and I hated reading those parts. He begs his daddy to protect him and he's promised it won't ever happen again. Empty promise since he is indeed captured again and undergoes some more bad things.

- The ending is very rushed. Well, the whole book is rushed, but especially the ending. In a matter of a few pages all the loose ends get tied up. Sort of at least.

- I found all the names in this book very distracting and hard to remember which made the story difficult to read. At the end I couldn't even remember which names were friend or foe. It would've helped immensely if the writer would've written more about the bond the brothers share. But their relationship just felt empty. Like the rest of the book basically.

I'm sure for some people this is exactly what they like. At least there is an actual story and it reads consistent. For me however this was a disappointment.

Benedetto Ferrari used to be a Daddy but his ex left him because he was too overweight, refused to eat his cooking and cheated on him. Since then he has been devoted to rescuing abandoned puppies until the day he rescues a 20-year-old man in an alley. He can't remember his own name, why he is there or why he is standing next to a dead body, but when Benedetto looks into his eyes he feels emotions he thought he was incapable of feeling ever again. His new charge confesses that he loves Benedetto's size and wants him to be his Daddy - determined to say no he actually finds that he is unable to turn him down.

This is the last book in the Italian Protectors trilogy and comes to a conclusion around Diabolo's warehouse. I loved the dramatic ending to this series which put all of the Littles from this trilogy in danger and that even some of the Daddies were damaged too. It was great to see that they did achieve the aims they had and that we found out so much more about Benedetto's boy. I loved their relationship and the way that he tried so hard to treat him with respect and go slow that he ended up having to respond to his boy's actions and decisions. This is an MM BDSM-like DDLB relationship story.

Callum suffered horrific events so young and for many years (read the triggers). But it did not break him or his beautiful spirit. He was so sweet, spunky, and cute, making me fall instantly in love with him. I just wanted to cuddle and protect him. Good thing Benedetto stepped up and did just that. Even though he tried to resist Callum's sweetness (thankfully not for long, lol), it was a lost cause. Callum worked his way and healed all the pain Benedetto carried in his heart and soul. Callum knew Benedetto was the Daddy he always dreamed of and fought for what he wanted. They were super cute and steamy together. They were perfect for each other, each providing what the other needed to conquer their inner demons.
And of course, it wouldn't be an Italian Protectors book without the action, suspense, explosions, and bad guys being sent to their makers. There we're also some curveballs thrown in my the author to keep the reader on their toes, lol, so beware. And I loved how we got a hint of more mayhem to come with new intriguing characters. Can't wait!!

Fluffy But Deadly

This is the 3rd book in the series featuring Benedetto, brother to Constantine and Gianluca, Italian mafia hit men with hearts of gold. Benedetto is lonely after his boyfriend dumps him and fat shames him. Benedetto is just a teddy bear inside but deadly on the outside and when he stumbles across Wesley, aka Callum, outside of the Diavolos warehouse, next to a dead body, he wants to wrap him up and protect him. This book is a continuation of the brothers mission to destroy their enemies and also find true love.
Gratuitous violence, age gap, daddy/little, bff's, stuffies, therapy, crossover characters from Russian Protectors series and everything in between. IMO this series and previous series are best enjoyed reading in order. Also has an epilogue and bonus scene. I just found out that another spinoff is coming as there is still unfinished business with certain characters from this series. Yay! Get started, you don't want to miss out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Benedetto rescues a boy in an alley and it changes his, and the boy's life dramatically. I loved the suspense of this book that had me guessing until the end. The way these two characters react to each other shows just how much they are truly meant to be together. Heed the trigger warnings for this book as sensitive topics are discussed in the story line. If you've read any of Aster's previous books, you will recognize previous characters making an appearance in this one as well. You'll also get TMI from family members, adoring assassins, and of course...EXPLOSIONS!

Benedetto rescues 'the nameless boy' out side the Wearhouse . He had no memory of how he got there, who he was and why he was holding a knife with blood on it. Benedetto takes the boy home, trying to find out who he is.
The boy has always dreamed of a big teddy bear of a daddy who rescued him from his hell.
Very well written, bit darker than Aster's other books with a lot going on that may trigger some people.
But overall loved that Benedetto was a larger daddy who had insecurities, but the boy knew what he wanted.
Looking forward to reading the next in this series

ok so i dnf’d this book. the reason i dnf’d this book is because when wesley was like sucking on (i can’t remember his name)’s nipples and they said he was going into little headspace, whatever his name is started touching him and in my head i was just like, you just said that he was in the headspace of a child and you go to touch him like that??? that’s like touching a child!! it doesn’t matter what his physical age is if he doesn’t feel that age mentally and in that moment then you SHOULD NOT be touching him sexually. so yeah i didn’t read after that

Benedetto to and Unnamed Boy

This book was exciting to read. There is so much going on in this book.

Benedetto was part of the Mafia in New York where is two brothers are looking to take out their enemies that they learn that are not only selling drugs but have a human trafficking going on. Benedetto finds an unnamed boy in an alley behind their enemies warehouse. Due to the drugs in his system the unnamed boy doesn't have memories of his past but he does find a Daddy who accepts him.

My Fluffy Mafia Daddy was a Brilliant Book and very well written. The Twists and Turns that Aster wrote were incredible. Bendetto and The Unnamed Boy were so lucky to have each other, the love for each other that they had was Combustiblely Hot.  The way the characters were all there for each other was great. Nana is a trip and a half. I just love how both the Mafia families are there for each other at the end of the day.

Great ending for this series

This was another great Daddy/boy story by Aster Rae. I liked that we didn't know the identity of the boy until the end, it was a unique spin I had never seen before. I also liked that Benedetto isn't your typical muscular mafia boss. He's a little fluffy, loves to cook, and rescues cute little dogs. I have enjoyed this series and how it sets up the next series of daddies and their boys.

I was just shocked and excited about this story. There’s so much much more going on in this whole experience than I thought was possible. From the moment I started reading I felt so many emotional connection with every single character’s lives that was pouring out of them and their own happiness survived for better lives together.

Fast paced story of the powerful Ferrari brothers who are trying to take down the evil members of the Diavolos. It’s not just an issue of drugs. Now there’s human trafficking, too! Gear up for an exciting tale!!!
