WINNER! 2023 Christian Indie Book Award WINNER! 2003 Best Indie Book Award (BIBA) Are Christians required to keep the Sabbath and the Torah feasts? What about the kosher food laws and circumcision? The Ten Commandments? What is the Christian's relationship to the Law? Torahism is the #1 book on defending against the theology of Torahism, which teaches that all followers of Jesus, whether Jew or Gentile, are required to keep the Law of Moses. It was written to help you understand and address the teachings of movements such as Hebrew Roots, Torah-keepers, Pronomian Christianity, and Messianic Christians, which can be unbiblical, dangerous and divisive.
REVIEWS "As a Jewish believer, I am asked all the time about the Hebrew Roots Movement. I never had a resource to direct people to. Now I do and an excellent resource at that. This book is very thorough and does not belittle their positions, but provides great answers to the challenges often raised. This is a must-read!" —Andrew Rappaport, Founder/President, Striving for Eternity Ministries

Timely! “…I am glad I came across this book, and I highly recommend it.” —Christ_Alone
Excellent and informative book “This book has been a tremendous help for me in dealing with close friends involved with the Hebrew roots movement. R. L. Solberg is to be congratulated and commended for writing this timely, important book from a sound, biblical, theological perspective. I believe—as far as I can see—he accurately represents their views, in order to interact with them in Christian love and respect.” —CA mom to 6
Helpful, researched, intelligent overview “I love this book. A torah-‘keeping’ family member of mine has also read this book and does not love this book. Quite the opposite . . . It’s been a blessing to me to read a well-thought out, researched, and compassionate approach to a belief system that has been divisive to my family. The arguments he lays out makes me go “Thank you! Someone else sees this!” I have read Solberg’s blog and watched hisYouTube videos for a long time, and am hugely thankful for the time he takes to research and put ideas and thoughts together in a cohesive and understandable way.” —turtledove
A great read for every Christian “This is a great book and highly recommend it for every Christian. Rob does a great job in approaching this topic in love, rather than with a whip. This isn’t one of those books where its us again them, but a book that attempts to respectfully bridge a gap between two opposing views. Unity doesn’t have to mean uniformity, and diversity doesn’t have to mean division. This book does a great job in speaking the truth in love that allows for diversity while still promoting unity. —Tony Lewis
A great exegesis of God’s Word “In a wonderful step by step sound exegesis of scripture R. L. exposes the false and dangerously deceptive doctrine that teaches Christians are still under the law of Moses …” —Private Citizen
I liked Torahism quite a bit. A couple years ago, I began to see friends posting about following the Torah and it made a lot of sense to me. I’ll be honest though, I did not know much of the Bible. After diving into Torah, it just felt off. I didn’t feel peaceful being under the law at all, and I could not, and did not want to, keep the law. One theme I was beginning to notice in a few groups though, was that some people were arguing about whether Jesus was actually God, and whether he should even be worshipped. A few people called Paul a heretic. I finally pulled out my bible and read through the New Testament. It really solidified my belief in Christianity but I really didn’t have a lot of answer when it came to discussing this with Torah followers. This book is a great resource! The writer did a good job with gathering up some of the main arguments of Torah followers, and had good answers for why they are off. Recommend! It is written clearly and is an easy read. I finished it in a couple days.
I cannot recommend this book enough! It is loving, respectful and clear in its refute of Torah keeping as a required way of living as a follower of Jesus. After hearing “Torah-ist” ideas and interpretations from both a close friend and then a family member, I was compelled to weigh their newfound beliefs. After years of it just not feeling right in my spirit, God moved to close the door on these false ideas through His word and Solberg’s teaching. I now had the scripture and articulation of what I knew in my heart from the beginning. Thank you for pursuing this text. God is using it to point to Him.
A phenomenal resource for anyone working through the beliefs of The Hebrew Roots movement, Torah-Observant Christianity, or what the author, R.L. Solberg, helpfully labels with the umbrella term ‘Torahism.’ Whether you yourself or someone you know has accepted the theology of Torahism, Solberg presents a thorough, systematic, and scripturally grounded counter to the claims commonly put forward by these movements. What’s more, he does all of this in the spirit of Romans 14; from a place of love for brothers and sisters in Christ who have unnecessarily obligated themselves to following the Law of Moses and think others should too. Solberg addresses key topics such as the Sabbath, Feast Days, Kosher eating, Jesus’ divinity, questions in church history, and more. Every topic and claim that I have encountered in my own experience with Torah-Observant Christians is addressed in this book in depth, with logic and scripture. If you are associated with this belief system, I ask that you put those beliefs to the test. Solberg will walk you through scripture to see if Christians are required to keep the Law of Moses or not.
Torahism is a very easy, and enjoyable read. My criticism put simply is the author ‘throws the baby out with the bath water’ as it were. The Westminster Divines, Puritans, Scottish & Reformed Presbyterian’s would all differ with the authors conclusions regarding the law in the life of the believer, and society.
Solberg's volume is not only needed in our climate of the growing Hebrew Roots movement but exceptional in covering all the essential ground. You may not agree with everything, but you'll find all the major talking points thoroughly addresseed. Honestly from what I can tell it is the only work of its kind and the go-to on the topic.
Absolutely excellent analysis of the problem of legalism in Christianity! I've been looking for a book like this for a long time with answers to the main objections of Adventists and others, and this book also presents a great overall picture of what Christianity's attitude toward the Old Testament should be.
If you or a loved one find themselves focusing more and more on the Old Testament, this book does a great job of explaining the general beliefs of those who follow Torahism, discusses what Torahist leaders use as justification for their beliefs and gives scriptural evidence to disprove the justifications. It is written with grace and respect.
Great summary of Torahism. Well presented and ultimately persuasive and loving. You can tell the author truly loves the Body of Christ and is striving to protect the peace and purity of the church.
A great explanation of Law and grace and a helpful survey of the Hebrew Roots controversy. If you know someone influenced by the system. It can provide a good resource for help ful conversation.
I am so thankful for Rob, his ministry, and his dedication to the truth. I struggled for years with arguments presented by ‘Torahists.’ By God’s grace, I never officially stepped down that path but some of the arguments stumped me. Rob examines a lot of these arguments in this book and lays out the truth of Scripture in a scholarly way that is easy to understand. Where the spirit of Christ is, there is freedom. And that is the message of this book.
