Pack Bound #3

Shifter Bound

Rate this book
A spy, a lone wolf, a desperate choice...

Lone Wolf, Iain McShane, yearns to roam free, but how can he leave his Pack now with an enemy spy right in their midst? An enemy that might very well be his mate – an impossibility given Lone Wolves never mate. But whatever she is, Shifter-witch, Eloise O’Brien, is certainly a mystery he wants to solve. She might seem meek and lost, but he can sense power deep inside her, power that could tip the balance in their fight with the evil Darkness that’s threatening to tear his Pack apart.

Eloise has betrayed her Coven and almost killed her brother to save the Were Pack she once feared and hated. Now, learning the truth of who she really is – the prophesied Nexus, a witch of unspeakable power – she must make a choice between the light and the dark, between Iain, the Were she is coming to love, and her once beloved brother and Coven who are now working for the Darkness.

But how can she choose when either choice will lead to the destruction of someone she loves?

The emotion-packed third novel in the award nominated Pack Bound Series, Shifter Bound, is full of mystery, action, sexy romance, fated mates, a tortured hero, and a heroine caught up in prophecy.

The intriguing Pack Bound saga continues in another thrilling romance that keeps readers on the edge of their seat as the wolves and the witches struggle to accept the changes that are taking place in the pack and with the never ending attacks by their evil nemesis.

All the characters in this series are strong and compelling, easily captivating readers with their lives and their romances and Eloise and Iain have a strong sizzling attraction that is pulls them together but their romance is full of strife and upheaval that tugs at readers’ heartstrings and keeps them fully invested in the story emotionally as well as being kept intrigued with every things that is going on.

The suspense and intrigue of all the exciting events that take place in this story keeps readers on the edge of their seat with anticipation as well as keeping them wondering just how the pack will overcome all the adversity and insecurities that flow from the pages as their enemy comes up with new ways to kill off the pack and anyone who gets in their way. There is lots of twists and turns to ensure that the readers can’t possible guess what will happen next.

I was completely caught up in the suspense of the story as well as this emotionally turbulent romance where both the hero and heroine seem to think that neither has a chance at a ‘happily ever after’. This series continues to enthrall me and their enemy continues to incite some very strong emotions from me as well, so needless to say I can’t wait to find out what happens in Moon Bound which is supposed to be released next month.

Book three and the story continues as both witches and wolves try to get a grip on the changes that continue to happen. This focuses on Eloise and Iain as we follow them as they get to grips that they are mates and that Eloise learns that she is actually more then she thought and that Morrigan is trying to take away her power. It’s a fast paced and action packed fight against the darkness , it’s sexy, it’s steamy and it’s filled with mystery and suspense and I very much enjoyed it.

Shifter-witch Eloise grew up in a coven with her twin brother and Morrigan. She was taught that werewolves were dangerous and evil. She was told that her magic was weak and mostly useless. When her coven sent her to spy on the pack, she started to realize that they were just like other people. Then her coven captured some werewolves and Eloise ended up betraying her coven and her brother to save the were-pack. Eloise ended up in a coma and watched over by the were-pack. When she wakes up from the coma, the pack has some shocking news for her. It is plain to everyone else that she is very powerful but she has a hard time believing them. She feels lost and out of control. The only time she feels comfortable is when she is with Iain.

Iain is a lone wolf but also part of the pack. Usually he is happy to roam but after Eloise rescued them, he feels uncomfortable about leaving. Is it because he is afraid that Eloise is a spy or does he have stronger feelings for her. When she wakes up from the coma, it slowly becomes clear there is a connection between them. Most everyone would suggests they are mates but lone wolves don't have mates or do they? No matter what he is there for Eloise and helping her with her doubts and her magic.

This is a good book but very long and complex. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Shifter Bound by Leisl Leighton is the third book in the Pack Bound Series. Each book deals with a certain couple while also dealing with a major threat to the pack. This book revolves around Eloise and Iain. I'm not going to lie. I don't really care for Eloise as much. I just feel like her character is a bit whiny to me. Granted that it was how she was raised, but even when she's proven wrong about her true self, she is still in denial. I don't like that. Then you have Iain who acts like he's a loner, but he secretly loves being around Eloise. They do that little "will they or won't they" dance that most couples do in books. While that is taking place, you have the main plot which I really enjoy. Overall, this is a good book to read. I do recommend reading the other two books in the series first, though. Readers don't have to, but it's highly recommended if the reader doesn't want to get lost or is confused about certain things. With that being said, I rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

Eloise and Iain . . .

Eloise O’Brien and Iain McShane, despite Lone Wolves such as Iain never mating, may actually be mates since both are feeling the pull. Iain has already noticed that shifter-witch Eloise appears to be meek, and yet he can feel the power in her that could win their fight against the Darkness.

Eloise risked everything to save the wolf pack. And she knows she is the Nexus, a witch of enormous power spoken of in the prophecy. So she now has to choose between the light and the dark. Will she choose Iain, the wolf she is falling in love with? Or will she choose her brother and Coven who have chosen to work for the Darkness instead? Because no matter what she chooses, she will lose someone she loves…

The Pack Bound series continues with book 3 Shifter Bound, and is an intriguing and somewhat additive read that keeps its followers coming back for more.

As the battle for survival rages on, Eloise learns that she’s more than she could ever have believed and apparently the destined mate of a troubled wolf. But Eloise isn’t easily convinced this future is her ultimate destiny, until fate and the need for strength and endurance demand that she accept the inevitable.

I liked the characters and the overall storyline and look forward to reading more from Ms Leighton.

Who would have thought that Eloise could grow to be such a strong character in this story after being such a doormat all of her life? Can Liam and Eloise make it through their doubts about themselves to be able to protect themselves and their packs against the darkness, Morrigan and Cain? This story takes you on an action packed read that continues the fight against Morrigan and the darkness that threatens them all.

This is book 3 in the shifter bound, pack bound series. It’s Eloise and Iain’s story. Cain and Morrigan are back creating havoc with the pack intent on stealing Eloise power. As the bond tightens between Iain and Eloise to fight the evil several in the pack must sacrifice to save the good. Great continuation of the storyline. This series is amazing. Each book is beautifully well written and keeps you wanting to turn the pages. This is the story of Iain and Eloise and their continued fight against the darkness. There are twists, turns and tears with Eloise learning that she is more than she ever thought possible and Iain is more important to her than anyone ever knew. A real rollercoaster of a book and series and I can't wait for the next one.

This Book 3 in The Pack Bound Book Series has a shifter witch and a lone wolf from the were-pack as main characters. She has been told she was weak but the were-pack tells her different after she helps. There is action, deceptions, twists, turns, maybe a fated mate and a continuation of series that I cannot wait to read more about. Make sure you read these books in order.

This is the third book, or the fourth if you count the prequel.  This story continues with characters introduced in previous books.  Yes it's a love story but it's so much more than that. The emotions are real and the characters have real flaws and insecurities.  I highly recommend you start with the prequel and go through in order.

I thoroughly enjoyed this third book in the series - it may even be my favourite so far! I loved Eloise - she's been through so much and is still trying to reach the family that's hurt her - and Iain is so lovely under the gruff. The overarching story really builds in this one - it will certainly keep your interest!

Book 3 in the Pack Bound series, Shifter Bound continues the battle for survival. With intrigue, conviction and strength there is nothing they won’t do to destroy the darkness. If you haven’t read this series, you should.

Shifter Bound by Leisel Leighton is well written. One aspect I really liked was how the characters grew and evolved. I love PNR and I think the author has really created a wonderfully complex story line. I also loved how I know the locations mentioned in the book and can picture them.

The third book of the series is dedicated to the story of Iain and Eloise without forgetting the other main characters in the series.
After spending a long time in a coma, following the battle with the forces of Morrigan and her band of evil possessed supporters , Eloise wakes up in the hands of Iain, the Lone Wolf who had vowed never to get tangled with the other sex.
The author takes the reader on a virtual journey filled with love, the discovery of love, hate, sorrow, loss battles and, the real meaning of family or in this case, pack or Coven.
With her specially gift, she touched the sensitive subject of good versus evil, commitment versus abandonment, magic , and love in all without borders or limitations. She goes further in the respectful study of mourning and grieving proper to each species described in this book.
A great read and sequel to previous books in this series deserving a rating of 5 Stars. I recommend this book and the series.

Since I read Book 2 – Moon Bound – I have been wanting to read more about Eloise. How she deals with finding out she was more then she was raised to think of herself & to realize she was the mate of a lone wolf is what you would probably think a person would deal with IF they where open to such things. You can tell she wasn’t and she fought it until she was shown (by herself at that) she was this great witch & a shifter. How she fights to remain her own person and not let anyone have control over her magic again is heartbreaking.

Leisl Leighton is an awesome story teller. This whole series so far has me wanting to keep finding out more about other characters and read her other books.

I received this book from netgalley.com for a honest review.

I received a copy of Shifter Bound by Leisl Leighton from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the summary and wanted to like this novel, but it was a chore to keep reading at times. The characters and threads of plot could have been pulled together better (more linear). There were flashes of real goodness, but then the story would get bogged down or off track.

Also, the primary characters' interactions seemed stilted and did not have great chemistry together.

I would try reading another book by Leisl Leighton to see if a future novel would improve in pacing and character development, but I wouldn't re-read this novel.

Another installment to the Pack Bound series. You will so get pulled in to the story and right along with the characters as you read. Eloise has come to love the pack that she was sent to spy on and the Were, Iain the Lone Wolf. She will have to choose as she finds out about her true self and powers she has. I so can't wait to read more of Leisl's work.
