Broken
When Aadhyaman Dubey bumps into Naila Kapoor at a popular Hong Kong nightclub, sparks fly. Childhood friends who've grown apart, they are intrigued by each other's adult selves.
But Aadhyaman has a problem. A sociopath for a brother and a power-hungry business magnate for a father make it hard to explore a new romance.
Naila on the other hand can't forget Aadhyaman but is increasingly pressured by her parents' insistence on getting her married.
An invite to the Dubey mansion for a party ends in disaster with Naila getting engaged to Akshay, Aadhyaman's brother. She looks to Aadhyaman for help but fate intervenes and she's left standing alone.
Can Naila and Aadhyaman overcome the many obstacles in their path and find their way to each other? Or is Naila destined to spend her life shackled to an abusive maniac?
Set in Hong Kong, Broken is the first book in Naila and Aadhyaman’s story, in the Heartbreaker Series.

This book is a rollercoaster ride that left me gasping in shock one moment, shedding tears of sadness the next to blushing at the sexy chemistry the very next moment!
This is my first book by Anna C that I have read, and I am so glad I got introduced to her fantastic books!
Broken is a story that will connect with everyone. Apart from the romance, the main highlight of this book is the contrast between good and evil, and the fight of every woman to live life on her own terms.
The author sketches a dark, violent, and horrifying picture of how rich men like Akshay abuse their power, and how women become their play toys. I was shocked, felt helpless, and then angry at this gaping disparity in power between men and women. When the heroine gets abused, no one believes her. Even her parents agree with the culprit. And I wanted to rage at them to stop being more concerned about their reputation, and think about their daughter!
So many social injustices are brought to the front through this book, and I applaud the author for being brave enough to write the ugly truth here.
Anna’s writing style is fluid, and vivid. She created a technicolour picture in my mind, and I easily traveled to Hong Kong from the comfort of my home here!
I stayed hooked and pulled an all-nighter because once you start you won’t be able to keep this book down!
So, I give it 4 out of 5 stars and Njkinny recommends this thrilling romantic suspense to all adult readers. There is mention of rape, and sexual assault scenes so be aware of these trigger warnings before reading this book.
I am so eager to read the next part and hope it releases soon! So, before it is here go and grab this engrossing read now!

Remember the old Bollywood movies which used to start with a flash back of the previous era, how the present situation depends on that little background scene, that's exactly how the story starts, a very important part of the story.
Two Indians at Hongkong, giving their best to live a better life and dreaming of getting big. One got lucky with a lotto scratch card and became rich and the other one's helping gesture made him rich but as we say money comes with its own drawbacks and it ruins your inner peace plus your innocence.
The current story is all about the young generation, with their values and some bad incidents which bring a hell lot of challenges and difficult phases in their life. There are secrets hidden, revenge to be taken and lessons to be learnt.
I loved the idea of the author to present the flashback and to create that idea of suspense about getting to know it at a later point, also the way the story flows and the twist at every possible end.
Though it's an emotional ride, the suspense part makes it a thrilling experience too. And the end will blow your mind, there are so much left hidden, so much to explore more in the upcoming book of the series that I am already excited and curious.
A good read 👍👍
