So far this is the best book on the topic of inclusive education I have read. It confronts intersectionality, as well as similarities between how we construct disability, race, gender and sexuality in our society. It is a breath of fresh air, it's not perfect, but far from the idealist, perfect and euphemistic texts I have had to read in the past.

Fantastic and in-depth work. For those unfamiliar with disability studies, the introduction and first few chapters provide and invaluable background. Throughout the text there are concrete examples and application to make you classroom more holistically hospitable for the whole range of students. I have often felt pulled to either the middle or the fringes in my classroom - this book's whole goal is to show a way to meet every student where they are at without causing your own mental breakdown. They do this not only theoretically, but offer practical steps in a variety of contexts that anyone can take. This is another work from my M.Ed. that will be living in my classroom, because I am going to want to use it in lesson planning.

Excellent for concept, theory and approach, but wanted more assessment technique and concrete programming.
