I found answers, but my fight is only just beginning…

One of my guys has been kidnapped. I don’t know if the Anti Magick Alliance took him or if it was the Human Extinction League. But I do know I’ll do whatever it takes to get him back.

My magick is growing stronger by the day. I can feel it surging beneath my skin. I just hope I can put thoughts of my past out of my head for long enough to focus on what needs to be done.

Because even if I succeed in my rescue mission, there’s still the small question of evading prosecution for trying to burn my ex alive, figuring out how I’m supposed to save the world and who I’m supposed to save it from. Oh, and learning to navigate the four powerful mage boyfriends I’ve ended up with.

Kole wants me but can’t get too close or he’ll want to devour me. Literally.

Tanner knows what I need before I do.

Mack won’t give in to what he wants because he’s the daddy of the group and should know better.

And Luther can’t stand me.

But we’re bound together. The five of us.

The five of us plus… one more?

‘Blaze’ is the second book in The Phoenix Prophecy series. It is a full-length paranormal reverse harem novel with graphic sexual content, sword-crossing, possible triggers, and a cliffhanger. It is aimed at readers 18+.

This is the second book in an ongoing series it's not long maybe a couple of hours of reading. This picks up where we left off Kole has been taken by the league to lure out Nova. They believe she is the phoenix mentioned in the prophecy but want proof. Now with both Nova and Kole in a perilous situation, their bond finally evolves to the next level all whilst the rest of Nova's new family attempt to locate and rescue them by any means necessary.

This throws a twist into the mix in the form of Nova's past and a certain found individual. Nova as usual is far too trusting wanting to believe the impossible the rest of the gang are more cautious and pessimistic and with the danger escalating on all sides these lot are going to have to think fast if they want to keep their little star safe.

This was fast-paced and enjoyable the sexiness here definitely upped its game be aware this series also contains some M/M which I loved. It’s well-written and an easy read and I’m now invested and excited to see what happens next.

The story is starting to get a lot more body and I’m curious how it will further develop. If you’re looking for good spice, look no further 🥵 Apparently Nova and Kole’s sexual performance does not get effected by being in life threatening situations, good for them 😂
This girl turns into a cat in heat when being in the proximity of any of the men, can say I blame her though.

Okay some of you may have seen my review of book one on GR earlier today and I was so mad that it ended on a cliffhanger really abruptly, and that I couldn’t afford the following book. Well I managed to get a free trial of KU, and the ebooks are on there! So I just inhaled this book in about an hour and a half.

It most positively didn’t disappoint after the first book. There was a lot more action and still loads of spice! It’s a really short read, but I think I’ll end up demolishing the whole series by the end of the month.

Read this series if you like: spice, werewolves, witches, magic, reverse harem!

This series started out strong and it was really interesting, which the premise still is and I'm intrigued by it. But this is also only book 2 of a 6 book series and I'm already feeling like it's going a little too slow. So for now I'm taking a break from it and may come back to it so I can find out what will happen.

My expectations for this second installment weren't that high, and it still failed to meet them.

We enter the story with Kole having been taken, and Nova receiving the text that she needs to come alone if she wants him to remain alive. Okay. Fine. Not in any way original, nor do we expect that Nova will suddenly develop a brain, the chesty little scarecrow that she is... in fact, I think we've already learned that her name is the brightest thing about her. But at the very least I was hoping for the people around her to be smarter.

Unfortunately, the extremely thin plot is very generously supported by a cast of characters that are only as intelligent as each particular scene needs them to be. And lest we believe that age or experience might lend their helping hands of wisdom to some of these folks... also no.

In other words, the characters are only developed enough to support the (completely transparent, frustratingly predictable, and threadbare) plot. That's it. They're provided names, hair color and styling, and a single emotion that makes up their whole personality (if we're lucky). The real tragedy is that the story is too emaciated to handle actual complexity, so instead we get detailed sex scenes as a filler. It's like the drive thru attendant at a Taco Bell offering an amuse bouche.

By the time I knew my interest was on life support. Then we get and I was just done. Unplug me, because this book turned me into a vegetable.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I made it to Book 2 since Nova is such a weak, senseless Hootie McBoob of a FMC. But whatever, I'm sure it won't be the last time I get hoodwinked by inflated reviews.

If you’re looking for plot and development you’re not going to find it in this book nor the series but if you’re here for the spice… sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Being honest this second book was filler, we got some new information but nothing other than that.

We see each character and their interactions between them but are we seeing any development or more information about them? Not really.

Im not a fan of Nova as the FMC she is stupid, there’s no other word for her, who tf goes alone to something that’s clearly a trap and KNOCKS?!!
She’s a little useless if we’re being honest, her character is just so bland, she doesn’t have a backbone and I feel like she doesn’t really have a personality.

Who in their right mind think it’s a good idea to do the funny business while being a prisoner and knowing they’re being watched?!

Is the real Sam going to get in the picture?
Is Nico going to have a redeeming curve and become part of the harem?
Will Nova learn to do something other than whine?
Are Kohl and Tanner ready to talk about their trauma?
Is Luther going to take his head out of his ass?
Do we get to see more of Baloo?

All valid questions if you ask me.

Wait what....that last chapter....I was glued to my kindle and it just ended, what a cliffhanger that was! If I was reading a physical copy I would have checked the back of the book to make sure no pages were missing!!! This is the second installment of the Phoenix Prophecy and wow, what another great book. The spice and drama continues and I really can't wait for more.

So far, I’m still enjoying it.
The plot is is still iffy at this point.
I can’t exactly tell what the hell is gonna happen next, which I don’t mind right now.
I’ve still got tons of questions.
In fact, I’ve got more now than I did before.
So I’m still in for the ride…

Back with more of The Phoenix Prophecy series with book two, Blaze, by @caraclareauthor . As far as first series goes, this PNR RH is off to a great start!

We pick up where book one left off - with Kole in the hands of the enemy and Nova is the only one who knows. Determined to save him, she sets off on her own, which proves to be the wrong move since she’s the one they really want!

With Kole & Nova behind enemy lines, that leaves Tanner, Mack and Luther on the hunt to save them! Only problem is, the other side is cooking up all kinds of torture and deception!

Despite all that, the steam was really good and one thing is for sure … things are likely to get worse for these four before they see the prophecy through.

Really loving how the storyline is playing out so far. Super excited to see what happens in book 3. Watching our MMC’s fall for Nova is the absolute best. This series is full of short books which I really like but I’m having to get use to as the books don’t feel as action packed as a 400/500 page book and always leave me with a cliffhanger. Book 3 let’s go!!

It's Getting Interesting

Definitely invested in this cute plot. Glad Mack finally came around, but why "Daddy?" Gives me the creeps. Just call him Mack

And what's this with Nico? Hmm I have some thoughts about the 3rd book, but I'll wait to read it.

First and foremost! These books go in order and pick up right where the previous book left off. So if you haven't read "Nova : The Phoenix Prophecy" go read it first, you won't be disappointed! Otherwise, this review will have some major spoilers and also make no sense.

"So, then where the fuck is he? And why did that creep just lie through his teeth to a pair of cops?" - Luther

Trying to find Kole is like looking for a needle in a hay stack! The guys and Nova can't figure out which group has taken Kole or why they did so. Well. . .maybe Nova knows something. . . Kole's a top priority and one of her "guys". But is her idea a good one or will it only worsen things?

Nova's still trying to wrap her head around this new life she has been plunged into. Her magick is growing which is very weird considering where she originally started. A normal human in a toxic relationship in a small town nothing more. But now. . ? Sparks will fly for more reasons than one! Nova's going to get Kole back no matter what! Can she find him first? Should she be as worried as she is about the Viking? And was that a wolf's howl?

We get to see everyone again! I was so happy to see all of the cast back in this book. I enjoyed seeing more of their personalities and the buildups between the cast. Even if the builds were of characters platonically liking one another more and having more respect for the other. Along with some angst and holding feelings back. . .

"I have an idea, little star."

. . .

"I have a feeling you're going to struggle to sleep tonight. So, why don't we play a game with our professor instead?" - Tanner

Mack's trying to deflect Nova and Snow's ideas on things. Being the "daddy" of the group he doesn't believe he should have such impure thoughts. *Clutches pearls as Nova walks around the house in a certain get-up.* I love Mack and how he's trying to maintain balance and some form of order. But when you have a fire bird living under your roof? And she's still learning to control her magick. . .chaos is sure to be around the corner.

I loved the scenes with Nova and her feeling her magick! There is one scene that is a bit violent and has some gore, but it was a fantastic justice-served moment. I love watching characters have their moments of utter release and letting go of things or emotions that no longer serve them!

I was really happy to find brief recaps of things within the book! Whether it be about places or people it was nice to have little, helpful, memory joggers. But after reading the first book the cast has become a group close to my heart that I remembered the majority about!

There's a lot of spicy scenes in the book! I would say almost a third to maybe a half is spice. I mean with Nova's new relationship with Tanner they are kind of all over one another. Everyone knows how it is when you are with someone and you have decided to move past second base. Plus, who wouldn't want to just be all over Tanner? Even if it's just hugging, holding hands, or just ruffling his hair! He's a big sweetie and I loved seeing more of his abilities within the book.

The author gave a tease about a bathtub scene. . . You will NOT be disappointed by it! It was perfect and definitely a scene you didn't know you needed until after you read it! This book contains all the actions within it. MF, MM, MFM, MMF even if some are just little teases. I also love how the guys are having different buildups with Nova, not all of them just falling at her feet at once. Also like seeing how Nova's slowly realizing she isn't alone anymore. There's also language, violence, and gore.

This is a great continuation of Nova's story! I love all the cast and seeing deeper sides of them along with some backstories about characters. I cannot wait for the next book, so yes. . .expect that cliffhanger. But the next book is set to come out at the end of this month! (September 2022) I need it!

Enjoy the read with our favorite little star and her guys! Don't forget to give the author some stars!

"He does not hate you." "Ah. He does." I lean over and kiss her cheek. "Maybe. But it doesn't matter. I love you enough for two people." Book 1 pg. 247

***Spoilers Ahead***

I did end up finishing this series despite the rating being 3/5. (It's worth noting that I automatically give 3 stars if I FINISH a book, because my ADD will not let me finish something I don't REALLY like.) I did like the books overall, I think the biggest reason I finished was because of how much I liked the characters. I usually don't mind a good insta-love story, especially when it comes to fated mates, because it makes sense with fated mates. However, it wasn't yet accepted that they were fated mates and already one of them was telling the FMC that she loved him. Which is just kind of cringy to me? I just felt like the overall plot was almost an afterthought. The world wasn't really explained as much as I would have liked, leaving me confused in some areas. There were also some chapters that were from the villain's POV. Which I don't mind, but it was kind of a curveball and I had no idea what was happening and had to read the chapter twice. I loved the love stories between the characters, and I think there is a lot of potential for the fantasy plot aspect it just felt lacking. Like we kept leading to something great just to be a bit let down.

Note to the author: there needs to be a better trigger warning, please!

Nova has survived being beaten, raped, and branded by her boyfriend. One night when she is sure he will finally go to far an kill her, something ignites inside her, literally. The next thing she knows her apartment, her boyfriend, and herself are on fire. She somehow ends up completely unharmed. Only problem is, she lives in a city that is run by the Anti Magick Alliance so when the paramedics notice her clothes are burned but she is not, the whispers start. Luckily, her neighbor shows up to help her get out of the city before she is classified a witch and burned at the stake (maybe literally?) for using her powers against a human. Her neighbor drops her off at the bus station, gives Nova her coat and $200 and tells her to flee.

She flees to Phoenix Falls where she meets a group of men that take an instant interest in her well being. Kole, a seer and earth mage that is a recovering blood addict. Mack, the "daddy" of the group, professor, sheriff, and a polar bear shifter! Tanner, a water mage, and more importantly an empath that knows what Nova needs before she does. And Luther, a fire mage and officer in Mack's department.

They are convinced that she is part of a prophecy that will save supes and humans alike from the shadow king that is determined to return to earth to rule, and he isn't working alone. He has a the Human Extinction League, led by Ragnor, to help him return. And he is willing to do and use whoever he needs to, to accomplish it. Including his son, Nico.

Nico is a celebrity known for trying to bring supes and humans together, he also happens to look a hell of a lot like Sam, the foster brother Nova thinks she killed when she was a child. When Nova is led to believe Nico IS Sam, she risks everything to protect him. Luckily, she has her men around to save her from continuing to make the mistake of trusting him. But trusting him led to her finding out that, although Nico isn't Sam, Sam is still alive. Nova and her men are determined to find and save him.

Nova is lucky enough to have these four men in her life to help her not only survive, but also fulfill the prophecy she still isn't convinced she is a part of. There is just one problem, the prophecy calls for **5** mates. With how she is feeling towards Sam now that they are older, it makes sense that he is the fifth mate in the prophecy, and with the voice that keeps speaking to them telling them to find "the wolf shifter" it can only mean him, right?

The six of them must be willing to do whatever it takes to save everyone and everything from the shadow king, including sacrificing each other. Will their love help them on their journey? Or prevent them from doing what is necessary to succeed?

This is a new author for me and I saw this series advertised and just thought it sounded really interesting. Y’all when I tell you I DEVOURED these books. I read all 6 in two and a half days. What was sleep?? I needed answers!

Nova, our FMC, has lived her life thinking she’s human until one night while defending herself from her abusive boyfriend she suddenly sets some magic free. She has to escape or others she’ll be hunted down. She ends up in Phoenix Falls where she meets our guys. Upon meeting her they’re sure she’s the one that’s destined to fulfill this prophecy they had discovered and save everyone.

I loved this story. Not only was the premise different than anything I’ve read before but it constantly kept me on my toes. Each book ended on a cliffhanger that made me grateful this was a completed series. When I thought I had something figured out another curveball was thrown at the characters.

The relationships between Nova and each of the guys was absolutely beautiful. Tanner, our empath and water mage, is so sweet and I adored the retriever energy from him. Kole, seer and Earth mage, he’s broody and has this trauma he’s working through but his bond with Nova is everything. Mack, shifter and air mage, he’s the big brother/Daddy of the group and man let me tell you…he’s definitely a Daddy. Sam, werewolf, he’s got that same retriever energy as Tanner and is just so sweet and protective. Luther, fire mage, he’s broody and grumpy and we love him all the more for it.

This series was spicy, it was funny, it was heart wrenching, it made me cry, and I loved every minute of it. It’s slept on and I’m going to recommend it to everyone. Go read it.

First, I would like to thank the Author @CaraClare for sending me an ARC for this book!

Cliffhanger, cliffhanger, cliffhanger!!!! I loved loved loved the end of this book but was HATING that it was SUCH a cliffhanger!! It was written so well I was literally looking for more pages because I thought my copy was off lol.

We pick up where we left off with Nova and the boys on a journey to get one of them back. The story picked up fairly quickly from the beginning and had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Everyone has been raving about the bathtub scene, and me oh my was that scene HOT, HOT, HOT, but my favorite scene was definitely Nova and Kole’s first kiss and spicy moments. Aside from that, my ALL TIME favorite scene from the book was the last scene with Johnny in it, I won’t mention what happened but gosh it was AMAZING, I felt SOOOO vindicated for Nova at that moment. I also love that in this book we see Luther open up to Nova more, feel for her, worries for her, and I love that Mack also opens up to Nova. We also are given more back story on some of the boys and that is SO amazing to see and to read about to see how they were formed into who they are currently and it felt so right for each of the boys. I am very intrigued to see what is going to happen with the boys, Nova, and Sam to see how that pans out! Overall, I would say that this was a great second book and almost surpasses the first for me! Cannot wait to see what the boys and Nova get up to next!!

Dark triggers for domestic abuse

Second book, and it's full of action, magic, alphas who show their soft hearts without fear, but will beat down to protect at the same time.

We get to see Nova do some explosive things, both magical and smutty filled 😏

This author knows how to write smut without losing the tender and strong love the characters are growing to for each other or already have.
They also convey abuse without victim blaming or making the characters appear anything less than survivors finding their strength and healing the best they can. Nothing is black and white, and we get to see that in Nova and how she builds herself back up after being pushed down by her ex and now by the league.

The character building is strong. To the point that even the enemy pulls at your heart, string a little. The world build is so on point, I can feel the divide in difference, and the unfairness of being a sup brings to just defending yourself.

Strong FMCs, even if one is a villain. MCs are spicy, strong, sweet, and frustrating alpha brothers from other mothers.
Smut level is so high that you need a fan to cool back down 😏

Besides all the great things, there is just something I can't fully put my finger on that prevents me from completely sinking into this world...I just find some things hard to imagine...

omg

i’m so happy this series found me. the spice was so much better than in the first book. more group scenes including kole and mack!!! i’m obsessed.

this book was about everyone trying to rescue nova and kole, after them getting kidnapped. kole got taken and the people who took him texted nova to go to a location alone or they’d kill kole. she ends up leaving and tanner, mack and luther figure out a way to find them. it’s kinda weird that kole and nova had sex for the first time while they were being held captive but whatever. they thought they were gonna die. so after getting rescued, nova kills johnny (her ex that started all this stupid drama) by boiling his blood and making him implode. they go home and we get a group scene with tanner nova and kole and then later a scene with mack tanner and nova. but then nico, “sam,” barges into the room and shows nova a video of her killing johnny and he tells her he’s her brother and that he can protect her and that she needs to leave with him. but the book ends when luther gets a call from sara (novas old neighbor) who tells her nico is NOT sam and that she has proof. ending with telling luther to meet her at a diner the next day.😱

I can across this series when looking through amazons kindle unlimited and it sounded right up my street and I wasn’t wrong although they are not very long books the plot is there, the character change and grow and new characters are introduced in a timely matter that doesn’t affect the plot. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a Viking male, a auger daddy that turns into a polar bear, a water mage who can jump into other peoples bodies and recovering addict, who was addicted to human blood, these males are fated to Nova, a woman who is prophesied as the phonenix, a human woman who will ensure that demons cannot crack the world and allow the demons to overtake the world.
The anti-magik league after kidnapping Kole and nova and torturing them to make Nova reveal who she really is. But their escape was possible with the help of Luther, Tanner and Mack. This book has mm mmf mmmf and is spicy 🌶️ but also has trigger warnings please check before reading. It is a big series with 9 books that vary between 200-300 pages each a paranormal romance that keeps you turning the pages. Cara Clare has done a good job in keeping you interested and wondering what comes next

THIS BOOK WAS A MASTERPIECE!!
We see more of Novas powers and more of the guys powers, there’s twists and turns, betrayal, spice that will make you hot🌶, true love at its finest and Men that will literally roam the whole world to find their girl🥺
Nova! I’m even more in love with her character! She’s so strong and selfless. She fights for her men just as much as they do for her! She’s a badass bitch! I can’t wait to watch what she becomes!
Daddy Mack/ Mack daddy🥵. Literal perfection! MY FAV, because I’m into DILFS😏. HE FINALLY GIVES IN, IT WAS DELICIOUS🥵.
Tanner!! The sweet cinnamon roll! He’s so good to her! He literally worships the ground she walks on.
Kole! I secretly want him to drink from her because I find biting scenes so fucking hot!
Luther! I want more from him, it’s always the assholes who are the hottest!
I can’t wait to see who the 5th guy will be!
The spice in the book was to Die for!! They are all so good to her! Can’t wait for more! Love this series♥️

I had high hopes for this book and after the first one was hoping it would have gotten better for this book..and was disappointed with the turn out. I was so mad at the rescue and the spoiler of the bad guys' plan. It crushed the suspense and was also completely unreasonable. Like Nova is aware they are using any and all tactics to get her to reveal her powers and what does she do when she is immediately confronted by her so called "brother"...she falls apart and immediately believes them. WTF!!!??? Then she's like save Nico, save Nico!! Like WHAT?! No questioning anything..I just got so mad I stopped reading this book at 70%. Like does no female have any common sense in these books anymore?! Like this woman is not a teenager, she's supposed to be 25yrs old. I really expected better of this writer as I was really looking forward to reading this series, but I'm not even sure I want to pick it up again.

Things are definitely heating up in this part of the series! In more ways than one too.

We pick up right where we left off in the first book, with Nova getting the ominous text message. This sets off a chain of events that will bring Kole and Nova closer together than ever and we get to learn more about the other men as well.

At this point it’s clear that Nova is close to both Kole and Tanner and growing closer to Mack and even Luther. I really enjoyed the way the book balances all points of view and there is even a new person thrown in the mix. Are they a friend or foe? Only time will tell.

The spice is ramping up too, Nova and Tanner are experimenting with adding things to their bedroom activities as are Nova and Kole and there are some group activities too. But the balance between spice and plot is at a good level in my opinion.

This one definitely goes also a bit darker with the violence/torture and blood.

Blaze is the second book in The Phoenix Prophecy and I'm kind of bothered that I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. After reading the first book, I really hoped that this one would grab my attention more, but it didn't.

The story starts right where the first book ended. There is some new relationship development between the characters, but it was all very superficial. The way that they talked to one another was awkward and felt forced.

While the plot of this series is amazing, the execution of it is not very well done. Everything just felt a bit bland and I lost interest in the book about 63% in,but finished it because I wanted to know what happens next. I still think that if you like paranormal books and want a quick and easy read, then you should give this one a chance. However, this just wasn't my cup of tea and I most likely won't be reading the rest of this series.

So...I really don't know what to think about this. I really wasn't expecting an incredible plot, but...I have a mininum. I am totally in with the main character that embrace their desires (not just the sexual ones) and don't try to hold on feelings just because, but when you're kidnapped and your barelyboyfriend tortured, I think that "self-care" together is the last thing on your mind when you're alone again while imprisoned, also there are some images that I cannot picture in my mind with a cage in between LOL
I liked the first book in this series, wasn't a masterpiece, but was fast-paced and kept me wanting to know more about the characters and the story, but after having finished the 2nd book I still know barelly nothing about the male characters, the only thing they do is f**cking, drolling for the girl without knowing her at all and running in circles.

make it make sense

This book isn’t doing it for me. Not telling the guys about Kole was just so stupid. Literally if they had her number and said she was being watched, why would she send a text versus leaving a note? She was so dumb for not saying anything. Having sex in captivity? No. They haven’t had more than one real conversation but she loves Kole? Be for real. Nova has no training and Kole wanted her to have control? How? Like now she’s a pro with her powers. This man can barely stand from being beat up so bad and y’all having intercourse? Ridiculous. The reason this gets a 2 over a 1 is because I still want to read the next book to find out what happens and who the fifth mate is.

How was the blood bond created? Who sealed her memories? How does Sarah even know she has a little brother?

Some grammar mistakes.
