A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

I had a glimpse of this couple’s encounter in the previous part and I was very excited to read their story!!!

Chasey was a single mom and Beck was a keyboard and synthesiser player for a famous rock star band.
When she caught her husband cheating on her, Beck was accidentally watching their fight and stepped in to stand by her.

Chasey and Beck’s journey was emotional and wonderful, and baby Luna was adorable!
An easy romance read, very well written, predictable, with no angst, yet I enjoyed it a lot.

Spoilers ahead, 2.5*

The h discovers her husband cheating and the H witnesses the encounter and offers to help. Time goes by and they eventually reconnect and get together. Minor drama from the ex

The beginning of this was slow as heck
I understand the h had been through so much but jeeze I wanted to shake her a couple times
I don't like when the h's bury their heads in the sand....from the moment her ex started talking about visitation a lawyer should've been her first priority

All in all not bad, my first from this author but I'd like to read about the other members of the band

No cheating
H is a member of a rock band but we don't get much details of his past
Poor h's husband was a scam bag who cheated when she'd just had a baby

I was waiting for this book since we were first introduced to Beck and Chasey in Only in Dreams, part of the Roadtrip series. We saw them again in the first book Fragile.

Stepping away from the typical rockstar trope, yes, Beck is part of a band, but he is much more. It is a love story of two people finding each other to be better people.

Chasey thought she was going to have her dreams of being a stay-at-home mom, but due to a bad choice of partner, she will be doing the mom thing alone, or so she thinks. After divorcing Aaron and finding a job, she is now standing on her own. Will she risk her heart again with Beck?

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

After really enjoying the previous installment of this series, I went into this book with high hopes and anticipation. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. That being said, it was by no means a bad book! In fact, I did enjoy it quite a bit, but my disappointment is significantly coloring my perception of it, when I think back on the story.

The biggest sources of my disappointment with this story was the pacing and the lack of, for want of a better word, wooing, of Chasey. Beck did nothing to demonstrate his willingness to step into Chasey's life in the role of lover and father to her child, other than giving Chasey his number and telling her to call him if she needed anything before they got together, and it just didn't ring true for me. Their first meeting was in a location where there was a small amount of information about Chasey left...why couldn't or wouldn't Beck talk to Dani or even Samantha from Only in Dreams and see about getting messages to Chasey through them and their commonality with said location, letting her know that he was thinking of her, hoping she was well, etc? Because of this lack of interaction, Beck sat on his hands (metaphorically) for months, before outside catalysts forced a second meeting between him and Chasey. That made the first third of the book drag for me a bit, and threw a bit of a lackluster pall over the budding romance shown in the latter two-thirds of the book.

Speaking of that latter two-thirds, I really enjoyed watching the romance between Chasey and Beck blossom! That pacing felt believable and spot on, even with the slower pace of it. I loved Beck's sensitivity toward Chasey's fears, and her desire to give her daughter a better childhood than she had. It reminded me of my own romance, and I was quite touched by the end of the book! All things considered, this is another book of the author's that I would happily recommend, even with my disappointments in it!

If I had one wish it would be that Chasey and Beck's story never ended, it was flawless in every way. Beck the big bad rocker, completely melted my heart, he is pure perfection. I caught a glimpse of this couple at the end of the first book in this not to be missed series but nothing could have prepared me for this wonderfully written book.

The first time that Chasey met Beck's, she had just confronted her cheating husband at a hotel, and Beck's had been in the right place at the right time to support her. Now, Chasey is a single mom to baby Luna and life isn't easy. When a couple of months later Beck's is back in town for a small gig they meet again.

Beck's is the most swoon-worthy rocker ever, and I loved how he worked at showing Chasey and her Luna that he was determined to make this work, even though they lived miles away from each other. Chasey couldn't stop thinking about the hot rocker, but who wants to take on a single mom, but just as she starts to let Beck in the world is turned upside down.

Rock Stars and Romance is one series you really don't want to miss!

I absolutely love this story. This was really just a beautiful love story. We first encounter Chasey in Fragile. When Beck comes to her rescue. You'll get a recap of that encounter and my god is Beck more than a hero in this book. The story at its bones is one that is totally heartbreaking but once this couple finally connects it's brilliant, moving, and full of passion.

As a single mum, Chasey's dream of being a stay-at-home mum is shattered. Because of her ex-husband and his cheating ways. But when she meets Beck again he has to prove what kind of man he is. He just needs her to believe in him and that he isn't like her ex. He must show her how much he feels and cares for both her and Luna. Chasey is a simple woman that isn't blinded by money and fame and that's what makes her all the more special.

The journey this story takes and the relationship it builds is a joy to read. This book is a total recommendation from me. This series is one to watch out for. The first 2 books have made it strong and well worth a read.

Rock Romance and More

In Wish, A.K. Evans gives her readers a twist on the rock and roll romance. Usually we encounter a bit of a manwhore looking for his next chick and Beck was the exact opposite, although he does end up with two chicks. ;)

They way they met was unconventional and for Chasey (a name that grew on me) the lowest point in her life. The last thing she needed was for rock god-Beck Emerson, to see her at her worst. Unbeknownst to her, this guy wasn't like the others. In fact, he takes the rocker reputation and turns it on its head and I loved that about him.

Beck has an appreciation for single moms and the minute he met Chasey, he wanted to be everything for her. Kinda creepy at first, however it mellowed out as we read. Beck was a good guy. Maybe a little bit of a glue stick, but in the best way. Chasey was unsure, definitely navigating uncharted territory, yet stayed strong for her baby.

The book is well written and was one of those waiting for the other shoe to drop types. I am a fan of angst and Wish might have been too much of an easy road. A few speed bumps here and there, nothing major. That said, I enjoyed the story of Beck and Chasey, as well as meeting the other band members and girlfriends. Rock Stars & Romance seems like a series of standalones (this was my first read) that would be more fun reading in order, as I am a fan of the origin story...
Walker's book is up next and I'll have to add it to my list so I can check in on Beck and Chasey as well.

When Chasey discovers her husband cheating on her, she’s devastated not only for her, but for their five week old daughter Luna as well. And, to top it off, her humiliation is witnessed in a hotel lobby by the band, My Violent Heart.

When Beck sees the drama playing out in front of him, he immediately escorts Chasey and her daughter away from the scene and offers the newly single mom his personal phone number telling her to call him if she ever needs anything. But, Chasey never calls even though she thinks about Beck all of the time. And, Beck doesn’t forget about the beautiful woman and her daughter wondering how they are doing.

When fate brings them together again, sparks fly and Beck knows he wants a relationship with Chasey and Luna and is willing to take things slow so as to not freak her out. And Chasey wants the dream as well, but wonders how it can work with Beck being a rockstar and her being a single working mom to an infant. There’s also the matter of Chasey’s cheating ex . . . Can this couple with more in common than they realize find a way to be the family for each other they always wanted?

I adored this book and I don’t know how A.K. Evans can possibly top it with the rest of the series still set to release. It is incredibly sweet and emotional. Chasey is an amazing mom, truly working to put her child’s needs above everything else and afraid to trust in what seems too good to be true. And Beck really is too good to be true. He is in it to win it. The time he spends with both Chasey and Luna is enough to make even the most cynic of readers believe in sunshine, rainbows and happy ever afters. 5 stars!

I have been really into single parent romances lately. Throw in a small town with a rock star twist and Wish sounded right up my alley. The first meeting between Chasey and Beck was less than ideal but it set the stage for what became an intensely emotional journey, for both of them. Especially since sweet, innocent Luna was involved.

I liked Chasey's unrelenting dedication to her daughter. The sacrifices she made. The outpouring of love. The time she made just for her. The one thing she didn't plan on was seeing Beck again months after he witnessed the worst day of her life. While he wasn't far from her mind, how could he be- he is a rock star after all, she just never anticipated that she would be at the forefront of his thoughts.

Goodness me, Beck. Such a good man. He loved his family and his band mates wholeheartedly. And when he saw Chasey again, he knew she was meant to be his. There was this pull that he couldn't and didn't want to shy away from. Convincing Chasey was another story and I loved that he didn't let her pull away when things got sticky and she wanted to.

Chasey and Beck's sweet and emotional romance is all about grabbing onto the things you want. It was low-ish on drama and high on hope. Beck showed time and again with his actions and his words how much Chasey and Luna meant to him and that their love was worth anything. And I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of these rockers meet their match!

Thank you @authorakevans and @givemebookspr for my ARC copy. I am a bit late to the party but here is my review.
Wish is a love story between a single mother and a rock band player.
When Chasey finds out that her husband is cheating she is devastated. The situation is even worse for her 5 week old baby girl, now forced to grow with divorced parents. By chance Chasey meets Beck, a famous player for My Violent Heart. Beck is instantly smitten with the blonde beauty and wants to see her again. Five months later Chasey and Beck start their journey together.
Wish started out fine, but even the first few pages raised a red flag for me and that was the smut part. As soon as they meet Beck has fantasies with Chasey when they don't even know each other. I felt like this part ruined a promising start.
Moving on the action progressed ok, at an even pace. Chasey and Beck start to talk regulary. Beck gets to spend time with Luna (those scenes were so adorable). The 3 go out or spend the holidays together. The main no no for me again were the smutty scenes as I felt they were either to soon into the action or they just didn't sit well with me.
I would have loved to see interactions between Chasey & baby Luna and the band or even with Back's family.
I can't say much about Chasey because I couldn't love her as much as other female characters. The same with Beck. The guy is a musician, show us his passion not just mention it.
The story was ok but I wanted some parts to go different.

Beck isn't your average rock star, like he isn't about sleeping with as many women as possible which is a delightful change of pace to be honest. He ends up coming across a woman whose life has been destroyed right in front of him, and he ends up giving her his number if she needs anything, and hoping she'll call but she doesn't. It's not surprising since she found out her husband was cheating on her so trust issues definitely come into play big time at this point, especially with the hottest man she's ever seen so she leaves it be. Little does she know that Beck isn't going to leave it be, and he intends on making her his, but he's not rushing her into anything. She goes back & forth with it all as they get closer, and I loved the fact that Beck was so patient in proving he means what he says. However, her past decides to come back to bite her, and Beck shows he has her back no matter what, but will she finally accept it?! I LOVED this story as Wish was an original take on a rock star romance but seriously, I would expect nothing less by this awesome author. In order to see how it all pans out, you know what to do as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Beck is One Swoony Heartthrob of a Book Boyfriend!
I’m already a fan of A.K. Evans’s Rock Stars and Romance series, and Book 2, “Wish,” was one that I was anxiously awaiting because I just knew I was going to adore Beck Emerson. From the moment his eyes met those of troubled single mom Chasey Rivers (initially in “Only in Dreams” from the Road Trip Romance lineup), I just knew Evans had a good one here. Beck is sexy, sweet, and surprisingly down-to-earth considering his high-profile music career on keyboards for one of the hottest rock bands in the country. Chasey is beautiful, vulnerable, and yet far more resilient than she gives herself credit for - picking up the pieces of her life as a divorced mother of an adorable newborn. The steamy bits, the relatability of the characters, and masterful storytelling are things I’ve come to expect of an A.K. Evans release; however, what makes “Wish” so special is the irresistible combination of sweet and sexy that is Beck Emerson. And his interactions with Chasey’s beautiful baby girl...friggin’ SWOON alert! Let's pretend this is 20 big, fat stars, A.K. Evans! Bring on Book 3!

Wishes is what this is all about, making them and possibly having them come true. Beck is a character that will steal your heart, with his sweet and sexy sides both winning you over. This single parent romance shows us how determined that Chasey is at ensuring her daughter's need are all met. These two cross paths at a time when Chasey's life is falling apart, however when they cross paths yet again Beck is the one who is determined this time that Chasey will be his. Their story is a unique storyline with this rock star being a genuine nice guy without the playboy tag. These two take us on a journey that is sweet, funny and is very low in angst. However it is overflowing in emotion and passion and has you captivated within the connection and love that burns between them. This was nothing short of a beautiful love story that is filled with swoon worthy and heartfelt moments.

Get ready for another twist on rock star romance here! Beck isn’t your typical rock star passing the time with every willing woman he meets. Oh, no. He’s got his eye on the beautiful woman who had her heart ripped out in front of him, yet pulled herself together for the sake of her daughter. And while Beck hoped for Chasey to reach out to him, he tried to understand why she didn’t. Or wouldn’t. So when he sees her again, he knows he needs to pull out all the stops to prove to her that he’s all in. All in for her and for her daughter.

Chasey is trying to rebuild her life after a devastating blow, and the last thing she needs is the heartbreak of Beck, the hottest man she’s ever seen. But when Beck makes his intentions known, or seems to, she starts to thaw. And then she’s confused again. Then they’re all in until she fears that she’s taking advantage. But when her past comes back just to be spiteful, Beck proves exactly what kind of man he is and what “mine” means.

I love how this story didn’t focus so much on the rock star life. Instead, it focused on how two seemingly different people fell in love, even in the most unlikely of situations. We don’t see added drama, which is always refreshing when I crack open a book by this author because she’s excellent at only delivering the drama necessary to take the story where it needs to go. We don’t see pettiness. We do see love and trust being built and exactly how much Beck and Chasey mean to each other. And that was a fabulous thing to see, especially when so many rock star reads focus on the stereotypical.

So now, I wait. Walker is up next and he’s already thrown me for quite the loop! So I need to know what’s going on there. So badly.

Beck is my newest book boyfriend! I received and ARC in return for an honest review of Wish.

Chasey just became a mom, and just discovered her husband has been having an affair. She meets Beck when she confronts her cheating husband during his extracurriculars. Both Chasey and Beck were raised by single moms, and lived very different lives because of it.

Months later they meet again, and their chemistry is OFF. THE. CHARTS. Beck is seriously interested and attracted to Chasey, but doesn’t want to push anything too soon. Chasey is seriously attracted to Beck, but being a single mom, her baby comes first. And a rock star falling in love with her, she only wishes it could happen.

I have been waiting for Beck and Chasey's story ever since they first met in Cal and Sam's story. It was so satisfying to read! I absolutely loved how their story goes. And I loved that Beck was taken by Luna and how he is with her. You can tell he is the man for them and he is genuine in wanting to care and love them. I can't wait for Walker's story next. I'm curious who is going to be his heroine.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wish was just as good as Fragile. I am truly loving this series. This story is about Beck Emerson and Chasey Rivers. We met Chasey in the very beginning of Fragile. Chasey has a five month old little girl named Luna when she follows her husband to a hotel and finds him cheating on her. Beck and the rest of his band, My Violent Heart, witness the whole event. Beck has always had a soft spot for single moms. He even gave her his personal cell number.
When their story really begins, Beck is at the end of his famous band's tour. He hasn't forgotten her and she certainly hasn't forgotten him. It's definitely not every day that a rockstar sees you at the moment your life falls apart and actually tries to comfort you. She is now a divorced, single mother. She had always wanted to be a stay at home mom and provide the life for precious Luna that she, herself, never had. When Beck is in the same city and sees her again, he's determined to make her his. I really loved Beck. I love rockstar romances so much and I've never come across one like this. For once, it's a rockstar who isn't a complete playboy. He has his head screwed on straight. He fights for Chasey, proving he's a good man. It's not just Chasey, he cares a great deal for little Luna too.
This was a really sweet love story. I usually am addicted to all the angst I can get but with this plot, I didn’t need as much. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite rockstar series. I can’t wait to read more! If Beck weren't swoon-worthy enough, the heat inducing times had me head over heels for him. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves rockstar romance. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

Chasey knew her husband was cheating on her so she grabbed her five week old baby daughter and to go confront her husband. It was an awful scene that started in the hotel room continued from to the lobby. She might have fallen apart except strong hand caressed her arm as she told off her cheating husband and the man comforting her was Beck the keyboard player of her favorite band, he even offered to beat up her husband. He walked her out to the car and insisted she take his number just in case she needed anything. It’s been a couple of months and Beck wants so much for her to call him, she hasn’t and he can’t stop thinking about her. He’s even thinking of getting security to track her down. Luckily that wasn’t necessary. They ran into each other one night and it was on. The chemistry of these two is off the charts. They’re so cute together and Beck is wonderful to Chasey and baby Luna. I find this story so sweet and romantic. There was very little drama in this story and I loved the holiday sort of love story. I’m giving this book five stars and I highly recommend it. Now I’m looking forward to book three after reading the opening.

When Beck first saw Chasey it was at the absolute lowest point in her life, yet there was something about her that he couldn't let go. When he offered to be a friend Chasey didn't want to believe him. Chasey can't fathom that a handsome rock star would find a newly single mother attractive so she ignores him. She might think it's for the best but Beck knows there is something different and special about Chasey. Beck sees Chasey for more that what she thinks she is. When fate intervenes, their chemistry is undeniable. Beck definitely steals some scenes with Luna and you can't help but fall a little more in love with him. When Chasey and Beck finally realize that what they have is real, fireworks all around! This is a great second book in the rock Stars and Romance series. This book checks everything you would want in a quality book. The characters seem real and they don't shy away from dealing with real world problems. This was a very enjoyable read and I can't wait to hear about the rest of the band mates of My Violent Heart. A+

Watching the life Chasey had planned for her and her daughter Luna self destruct before her eyes was difficult enough but having it be witnessed by others only made it that much worse. She is drawn to the musician who was there when she needed someone the most, but she never expected to see him again as who would to be a party to the turmoil that her life has become.

Beck was intrigued by Chasey and even though he hasn’t seen her again she and her daughter are never far from his thoughts. When he sees her again, he isn’t about to let her walk away a second time and is determined to show her that the only place she and Luna belong are with him.

After everything that Chasey has been through her caution is understandable, but Beck has known from her first meeting that he wants her in his life and isn’t about to be deterred.

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series, and this is Beck and Chasey’s story. Chasey has always just wanted to be a good mom, and she is devastated when her little baby is 5-weeks old to find out that her husband is cheating on her, and when the drama is played out in front of rockstar, Beck, he guides her away from the scene and givers her his personal phone number if she needs anything. Chasey never makes contact, but fate has destined them to cross paths again, and Chasey is now divorced, and life is tough. Beck is determined to prove that he is there for Chasey and Luna no matter what. This is a beautifully written story which pulls at the heartstrings throughout, and is filled with emotions, drama, trust, love, and is an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Ahh this story will hit you hard with the raw feels and so much more. I had been intrigued for what was in store for Beck and Chasey. There are so many underlying things that these two had against them but Beck wanted to be a part of her life as well as Luna’s. Seeing the ups and downs and how these two connected was utterly stunning and you could not help but swoon. Being a former single mom, I know exactly where Chasey is coming from with those emotions of fear and more. But Beck is the kind of guy that will prove her wrong and it was just everything.
There are so many raw emotions plus sizzling passion within these pages that I could not get enough. I loved the blend of the rockstar life but it is not the dominant storyline. Itr is so much about Beck, Chasey and Luna. I am so looking forward to what is to come with this series!

This is my favourite so far!
We briefly met Chasey in the first book of this series. She tragically finds out her husband and father of her newborn is cheating on her and confronts him about it in the lobby of the hotel he used to have his affair.
Beck and his band members also happen to be in the hotel lobby at the same time and witness the confrontation. Like the gentleman he is, he offers his help if she needs it even though he doesn’t know her.
In this story, Chasey is now a divorced single mom working and trying to make life work for her and Luna. Beck is determined to show her they can make it work despite what she’s been through and his like as a rockstar. I love Beck so much and enjoyed this book immensely. Cannot wait for the next one and of course to visit this couple again. Loved it!

I’ve only read one other series where the sequel was set in the same time as the beginning of the first book, and I LOVE it! While Beck; the keyboard player for My Violent Heart and his girl Chasey are the main characters, the story takes place concurrent with many events in book one of this series. Doing so ensures that we, the readers continue to see the characters from book 1 that we grew to love but to also experience the big events from another perspective. Well done!

Chasey & Beck meet in quit the unusual circumstance, but it is definitely not one I’ve read before! Beck, as we hope for is the swoony rockstar that we can help but fall for, Chasey included although her reservations are appropriate given her circumstance.

I enjoyed Wish and would recommend it.

From the moment Beck Emerson, percussionist for one of the hottest bands, saw Chasey Rivers in the lobby of a hotel the band was checking into, holding a new infant in her arms apologizing to the desk clerk and clearly telling the man screaming behind her she was done, he was in love. Moving her out of that situation in case it got violent, he gave her his number and prayed she’d call. She didn’t.

Months later Chasey went to the band’s impromptu show and Beck made sure they made contact. Though Beck knew Chasey decided she’d be a single parent rather than go back to her cheating spouse and he’d been waiting months to talk to her. He had no idea how hard things had been for her in the meantime. Now that he knew, that would be ending soon. As the pair draw closer, Chasey’s ex decides it’s time he gave the appearance of being a concerned dad.

I. Love. Beck.

This was another amazing read from this talented author. I knew from the preview at the end of Fragile that I would enjoy meeting these two characters. I didn't realize how much joy I would feel at their HEA!

The characters are developed well, and the relationships between all of them are easy to enjoy. I very much appreciate the support given to Beck, and in turn, how he cared for Chasey.

All in all, this is a read that, in my opinion, allows a reader to experience many different emotions, ending in (for me) contentment and happiness.

I strongly recommend reading this series in the correct reading order to get the most from the read. Well worth the time to do so. I cannot wait to read Walker's story next!!

Adorable:
It was so sweet I think my heart may have melted!
I absolutely loved Beck and Chasey as a couple and I was totally invested in their journey. Chasey and her baby daughter were just adorable and I couldn't wait for them to have their new beginning full of love and happiness. I also liked how understanding and caring Beck was and he made an exceptional book boyfriend.
Whilst quite emotional and heartbreaking at times, this was also an uplifting story about resilience and overcoming life's hardships. All in all a great addition to the series and I can't wait to see this talented author comes up with next.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
