Entertaining but I wasn’t a fan. As someone who loves goth weekend and Whitby this should be a high scorer for me but it fell flat on its face.

The writing of the female characters was dreadful and completely took me out of the story.
Editing needs reviewing due to errors. Story was weak but entertaining enough, not one I’d recommend tbh.

Good concept and once the story got going you can see its a very accomplished modern take on Dracula.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t for me and I was so disappointed as I have strong family ties to Whitby and have always loved vampire fiction. A cynical, largely in likeable protagonist in Danny Murray however I hoped this was laying the groundwork for some character development. The format of the book did mirror the original however updated with a mixture of text messages/social media posts and emails dotted throughout.

I may be a little biased being from Yorkshire, but I think this book has great potential and is an intriguing storyline. Always a fan of a good Whitby gothic tale! And enjoyed turning every page of this book.😅

I feel it just needs some minor tighter editing, or some sections/characters fleshing out in more depth. For instance, I'd have liked to have known more about Lupei's personality/psyche and also about Rawes' background. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Decent idea for a story. Bought while in Whitby so nice to know some of the places mentioned. Really needed a good editor to bring the book into shape, tighten the narrative and eliminate typing errors.
