She needs a Daddy and he’s in need of a Little who can be strong enough to stand up to him.

A last-minute surge of courage enabled Substance Abuse Counselor, Veronica Wallace, to leave her fiancé, chosen by her overbearing mother, at the altar. Escaping to Colorado for a visit with her college roommate, Veronica finds home and acceptance among the citizens in the small town of Grand Ridge.

Hardened Navy SEAL veteran Nicholas, “Bull", Schmidt followed his best friend Phantom to the mountains of Colorado to set up Valhalla. Returning to his roots, Bull builds a successful Equine-assisted therapy program. When a kick from an unruly donkey reinjures his shoulder, his refusal to take pain medication sends him spiraling downward to a dark place fueled by pain and exhaustion.

When Phantom calls Veronica to help Bull manage his pain, their two worlds collide. Bull finds much more than he expected- a Little who’s been forced to hide her inner desires for far too long. A Little who stands up to him and gives him a reason to fight his way back.

But, can he be the Daddy she needs?

Please note that this DDLG book contains high steam, age play and spankings.

Another wonderful addition to series, great characters and scenario

Veronica Wallace has finally plucked up the courage to leave the boyfriend that has caused her so much misery, he had not even been her choice it had all been her mother decision and finally she ran to Colorado where she is living in a small home with her college roommate.

It had been so long since she felt as though she could actually breath, all she ever wanted to do was help those that needed her assistance and this was why she had taken on her Substance Abuse Counsellor and was not going to be pushed around anymore.

Nicholas “Bull” Schmidt had been with his friend in the mountains and had been trying to build a therapy program that used horses, when he had been kicked the pain medication had caused him to spiral down a very black drug reliance that he needed help with.

Phantom his friend contacts Veronica asking if she could help Bull to manage his pain and also to stop feeling so ashamed with himself.

This is a wonderful read you will love the characters and their loyalty to each other and the wonderful Veronica that is a breath of fresh air.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This is book seven in the Valhalla series but is certainly a standalone. This one was with Bull and Veronica. It was a good Daddy Dom/ little story. My only problem lied with the fact that if his little lied or did something not to his liking, she would get spanked. To me, he was being a hypocrite and that is one of my pet peeves. Rules and consequences should be both ways, not just on the little. She should have been able to flog him as punishment or something. What’s good for one should be good for the other. I received an advanced reader copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

He provides what money cannot buy.

Past experiences affect Veronica's behaviour causing her to see Bull's desired relationship description as red flags instead of seeing Bull as the perfect Daddy for her. However, as time and proximity is maintained, this damaged couple evolves and work through their issues. becoming stronger and more invested in their chosen lifestyle.

I greatly enjoyed the storyline with it's highlights of a prevalent social issue and the effects that ensue. I look forward to meeting the next hero of Valhalla.

So far in this series, I haven't been disappointed and that continues with Bull (Nick) and Veronica's story. We've seen Bull throughout the previous books as he is a vital part of the team at Valhalla. Veronica fled from her wedding to escape a guy she didn't love and her mother! She's a counselor at Valhalla. I loved the interaction between these two as they try to figure out how a relationship is going to work. Veronica tries to hide her "little" side but Bull is a "Daddy" and he can see that part of her. When Veronica calls him on something and shuts him down for a few days, I started to worry what he would do but once again, Ms. Gray sets up the whole "talking" scene perfectly. After all, Daddy Doms make mistakes too and it was nice to see Bull acknowledge he messed up. This whole series has been outstanding and Bull is a much welcomed addition with his and Veronica's book.

Another of the Veterans of Valhalla gets his HEA in this installment of the series. Nick and Veronica met several months ago and were both interested in each other romantically but neither had approached the other. Once Veronica asked Nick for help on a home repair, he tried to start a relationship, but she put up walls due to her past history. Nick worked to break down her walls and bring her into his life and show her the type of relationship he wanted and thought she would want also. They had a few rough patches but worked through all of their issues and realized they were both in love.

Entertaining and quick read. RJ Gray novels are always a great escape from everyday.

Bull is book seven of the Veterans of Valhalla series of interconnected standalones. This was a quick and easy read that I was able to finished in one sitting. I enjoyed that we got glimpses of characters from previous books in this series.

Nick is a Navy SEAL veteran that is now running an equine therapy center in Valhalla. Veronica is a substance abuse counselor and is asked by her boss to intervene and try to help Nick. Nick refuses to take pain meds after an injury because he doesn’t want to take a chance on becoming addicted. But he is being grumpy and short tempered with everyone around him because of his pain.

If you are looking for a easy, quick and light read then I highly recommend this book. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

Growing up a fourth-generation perfectionist, I could so easily relate to Veronica and her (failed) coping strategies. And I know it’s a little bit spoiler-y, but I’m just so excited to see a hero who can admit when he makes a mistake and genuinely apologize for it. I really liked Veronica and Nick together and was charmed by their dynamic. They’re mature characters who have flaws and vulnerabilities, but didn’t always take the mature path to dealing with those flaws and vulnerabilities. I liked that the epilogue introduces us to the next couple to be featured in the series, however it felt a bit jarring to switch away from Veronica and Nick the way it did.

Heart warming story… This fabulous series just keeps getting better. Bull and Veronica’s story will melt your heart and wrap you up like a blanket on a cold winter’s night in front of a fire. This is the type of DDlg story that I swoon over - caring, protective, compassionate, and downright yummy. Once again, this author has written a book that is impossible to put down as you don’t want the magic to stop as you return to reality. Fabulous read - can’t wait for what comes next.

I loved this book. I loved Nick's explanation to Veronica about what a Daddy is and what it entails. Also his "What I can promise you is talk", that was panty melting for sure. Veronica was very strong in some of her opinions and biases, but Nick dialed it back and worked with her patiently. He was earning her trust, not demanding it. I'm so glad she have him a second chance. Love this story!

Veronica and Bull’s story is a wonderful read. The connection between them is so strong it jumps off the pages. She’s trying to find her adult and little way while Bull is trying to deal with an injury he won’t acknowledge needs attention. How they come together and figure everything out is a super read. Loved it!

I have been looking forward to Bull's story since we were first introduced to him earlier in the series and this book didn't disappoint. Bull and Veronica are wonderful together and I loved their interaction. This, like the other books in the series can be read as a standalone with its own HEA, but being familiar with at least some of the previous books would aid in your enjoyment. This is a wonderful story that you can easily get through in a few hours. As it stands, this book is absolutely worth 5*.
However, I believe this book could be better. I've been reading this author since 2019 when her books at that time were longer. This is an issue for me with a lot of authors. Romance readers, like me, are insatiable. We constantly want more from our authors and so, like fashion is dealing with fast fashion, we now have fast romance. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with wanting a relatively short, quick read that gives you that wonderful hit of dopamine to ease you through your day. So, we have to expect a trade-off. We get a quick turnaround of new stories from our favourite authors, accepting that theses books will be shorter, with not as much time spent on the relationship between the characters. There will be more instalove, less effort put into the situations surrounding the characters that don't directly affect the romance with the result being that sometimes the books and characters can feel rushed and shallow. Some authors make this transition better than others. RJ Gray is one of the better ones in that she is still, and probably will always be, one of my favoured authors, but I'm saddened in what we've lost in order to have our fast romance.

I was looking forward to reading Bull's story since we first met him in "Phantom", and it's incredible!
A daddy without a little, Bull gets to know Veronica when she helpes him out after he was injured. Veronica moved to Grand Ridge Colorado after the ending of a disastrous relationship.
She's hyper vigilant looking for red flags in every guy she dates, determined never to be hurt so badly ever again. When she and Bull start dating, it's very hard for her to trust him and her own feelings.
Bull is the daddy legends are made of; caring, attentive, loving, and stern when he needs to be. He's the daddy of Veronica's dreams if she will only let herself try again. But when Bull fails to admit he's having health issues, their relationship is being put to the test.
This story was everything I could hope it to be, the only issue I had with it was that it ended too soon! I want more! It fetures a great couple, excellent writing and just the right amount of steam. A really great book.

Yup, this is my absolute FAVORITE out of this whole series!!!!

Veronica works at Valhalla as a counselor. She loves what she does because she's helping others and maybe even helping herself in the process.

Bull, aka Nick, has been earning his nickname recently. If you've read the previous books you know that Bull was shot in the shoulder. Unfortunately that wound has not healed, especially when he reinjured it, and it's made him grouchy at times. It doesn't help that he's bullheaded and refuses help.

I love that even though Bull is struggling, he's always tender with Veronica. He's understanding that she isn't 100% convinced that she herself is Little. And I adore the fact that Veronica can get her Daddy to admit he needs to follow his own rules (even though it took a lot of work).

I'm looking forward to the next book.

Nick (Bull) and Veronica are both strong characters that refuse to depend on others. For Nick, he refuses help when he re-injures his shoulder and is a "bull" to those around him. Veronica has issues with her mother, is a counselor so she has a hard time letting others help her. She doesn't want to seem weak in others eyes and because of that has a hard time letting her little side out.
As with the entire series, this is another great book that the characters become close and help bring the best of each other out. For Bull, that is his caring Daddy side and for Veronica, that is her little side.

This is the next book in the Valhalla series, which I love. Veronica ended up in Colorado after escaping from her mother and fiancé by leaving him at the altar. Her family disowned her because all they cared about was status. So, yes, Veronica is wary of men being 'perfect'. Nick, Bull, has been a daddy before, but his little would not move when he needed to for the military. He still wants a little and he feels that Veronica is the one for him. He has to work to get Veronica to trust him and to let her little out. Eventually, they get there and it is a sweet romance with a HEA for them.

As your Daddy, I am your number one fan. I believe in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself. I don’t see brokenness, I see possibilities. “ so many of us can relate to feeling broken. I absolutely love the way RJ uses feelings and circumstances that we can relate to and uses her characters to show us that those things are not failures or make us undesirable.
Nick and Veronica’s story, like the others in this series is a very emotional read. The author brings her characters to life in such a way that by the end of the story you feel as if you know them. This book is well written and the character development is amazing. I would highly recommend this book and if you haven’t read the others in this series, you are going to want to grab them all!

Bull: Veterans of Valhalla is a sweet, enjoyable, hot and very well written ddlg romance with one seriously alpha male who goes for what he wants and one cautious, previously burned female who tries to gather the courage to do the same.
I very much appreciated this budding romance with its naturally paced development, its high and palpable tension and its relatable and authentically flawed characters.
RJ Gray plants the readers so firmly inside the characters’ heads, describes their struggles and emotions so well, that it is impossible not to understand and relate to them both at the same time. I felt them, I understood them, I saw where they were coming from.
This book is not an action packed read full of danger and suspense; what it is, is an emotional story about very real struggles with pain, accept and trust - and it is beautifully done.

Bull is the 7th in the Valhalla series and features Nick aka Bull who we have seen in previous stories. Bull is a valuable part of the team who does his part providing horse therapy for others. Veronica is a Little who desperately needs a Daddy. She has just gotten out of a serious red flag relationship that she was expected to continue to endure at the behest of her mother. As a favor to her new boss at Valhalla, she steps in to see if she can help the injured Bull. But what started as a favor, quickly becomes so much more. Bull is the Daddy that Veronica needs but because of her past relationship experience, she perceives a red flag in Bull. A red flag that she later discovers does not actually exist. It takes some time for the two to come together but it is perfect.

I loved how Bull was a different kind of book, but still fit within the overall series of VofV. Instead of the drama coming from some outside forces working against this couple, their issues are more internal. Veronica has a history ignoring red flags. She doesn't want to make the same mistake again, to the detriment of almost losing the great guy right in front of her. Nick (Bull) wants to be the best daddy he can and that means show no weakness, be the guy who can do it all. My absolute favorite line in the story (and I may be paraphrasing here a bit) is "you don't have to be perfect, because you're perfect for me." Swoon! I think this is my favorite book in the entire series because this couple makes it work in the real world.

Nick, aka Bull is running his equine therapy when a mean donkey kicks a bullet wound he had. In serious pain but refusing to take medication for the pain, substance abuse counselor Veronica is asked to see if she can help him. Bull sees the little that Veronica hides as she's a professional and fears her patients or other would judge her. The relationship that developes between them is super hot, sexy and perfect for them both. They get a well deserved HEA in the end.

Another standalone in this series. The right amount of age play ( not excessive, not overwhelming ) which is good for readers who are not so much into this genre ( me included). The main characters are passionate, strong and loyal. The dialogs are enjoyable. A page turner.

I love all of RJ Gray’s Valhalla books. But Bull is my favorite.
I fell for Bull when he was protecting Sam. In Phantom.
Bull is every Little, Middle & Brats kind of Daddy.
But this Daddy is keeping a secret. And this secret is a lie.
Daddies have a rule that their Little girls can not lie to them.
Can Veronica make her Daddy see that he is lying too her. Can she make him see what it’s doing too her. To himself. By keeping this secret.
Can they get through this obstacle? To become the Daddy and Little girl for each other?
I totally enjoyed this book.
I got this book as a ARC.
I recommend this book. And all the other books in this series.
Cause they are all combined together.

"I wouldn’t change you for the world...But if I need to, I will change the world for you.”

This is part of the Valhalla series, a place in Colorado where veterans live, work, and, err, practice BDSM. I've dipped in and out of this series, so was familiar with only some side characters and storyline references. In addition, the couple has already met, so this may or may not work as a complete standalone. Here, we get a DD/lg relationship between substance abuse counselor Veronica and horse wrangler Nick (Bull). He thinks Veronica is his ideal little girl, but is she up to letting go of a lifetime of repression and inhibition to fulfill both their needs?

Of all the entries I've read, this is my favorite couple since what I like was present: consent, safewords, an MMC totally devoted to his partner and who apologizes when he's wrong, an FMC who was self-supporting and autonomous, believable angst and conflict that was neither over-the-top nor strained credulity, and an HEA. I also appreciated that the relationship wasn't one-sided in that there were times when Veronica had to be the "strong one." Finally, as someone who will never be convinced that domestic discipline is not inherently patriarchal, I really appreciated that the two put the "play" in Age Play. Their dynamic was both real and not, and each was self-aware enough to realize that (as is the narrative, which commented on their interactions in a very knowing way).

I had three prose-related problems. First, there is one serious continuity error where Veronica first says that she's the oldest of six; later that she's an only child. Second, Veronica's initial dilemma is . Finally, too much telling and not showing makes for a slower read. To give one example, we hear the story of how Veronica left her fiancé twice: once when the narrative relates it and, later, when one of Nick's friends tells him. Leaving aside the fact that this is unnecessarily repetitious, neither is a strong, dynamic choice since we don't get to see the emotions Nick and Veronica might have evinced when discussing this very painful part of her past. I've seen so many authors do this and I don't understand why since relating information via dialogue, detail, and action rather than exposition is the number one rule of effective story-telling.

Ultimately, the strength here is character: The MC is extraordinary likable, ethical, professional (I'm not an expert, but the author appears to have done her homework regarding horses and addiction), and level-headed. My only caveat is that while Nick was a dream book boyfriend, if he was going to move that slowly, he had no right to insist that Veronica refrain from masturbation; in her place, I would have called him on that.

3 1/2 stars. Underlying the smexy times was an important point about how traditional views of masculinity often mean that men don't seek medical help when they need it. Given that men are over 1 1/2 times more likely to die of COVID than women, I'd say this particular conflict is very timely. Note: The epilogue tells us who will get the next book; since I had expected it to be about our couple, I found it abrupt.

BUT WHAT IF?

The seventh story in this series gave this avid reader everything she wanted to see in a book. The story has passion, mystery, suspense, angst, strong alpha men, and equally solid and feisty females. I liked the characters, their interaction, and the journey they begin with a Daddy Dom little girl relationship. The story shares the experiences, new beginnings, and issues that Bull and Veronica explore together.

Veronica Wallace finally did what was suitable for her, even if it meant leaving her wedding before making her life's biggest mistake. She is a people pleaser, capitulating to her mother's whims and wishes, but this is her life, and she has to do what is best for her. It isn't marrying a cheater who informed her he would not give up his mistress and didn't love her. Paisley will convince her to move to Grand Ridge, Colorado, where there was an opening for a Substance Abuse Counselor.

Former Navy SEAL Nicholas 'Bull' Schmidt has followed his friend, Phantom, to Valhalla and works with the horse for equine therapy. He is shot in the shoulder during a rescue mission and then kicked by a mule in the same spot. Bull is a stubborn man who refuses to admit he is still in pain and is adamant he will not take painkillers.

The story's plot will have Bull and Veronica engaging in a conversation about her being a little, which she claims she isn't sure she is one. Slowly, he will coax her to explore her little side at a private meeting at the Citadel. They will move their friendship into exploring a DDlg relationship.

"You can't let what others think define you, Veronica. You are enough, and you are just right. You are perfect the way you are. Little you and big you. Your desires are healthy and there is absolutely nothing wrong with you."

The journey of Bull and Veronica into their relationship also shows that it is a two-way street that needs to be respected by both parties. Saying you aren't in pain or seeking help isn't healthy whether you are the Dom or the submissive or little. Like in any new relationship, there is trial and error, but there must be trust and respect. Maybe some of the ways things are handled aren't the best, but these two do find their way in the end.

"I know you aren't infallible, Daddy, and neither am I. You don't have to be perfect to be perfect for me."

The story does have power exchange, discipline, and explicit scenes. It also has a few scenes witnessed inside the Citidel. The story does not end on a cliffhanger, but the epilogue is a setup for the next story in the series.

Book 7 of the interconnected Veterans of Valhalla series.
Each book can be read as a standalone, however I highly recommend you read the series in order to get the most out of each book.

Nick is a Navy SEAL veteran that is now running an equine therapy center in Valhalla & Veronica is a substance abuse counsellor.

The two crossed paths previously when Nick was shot in the shoulder during a rescue mission & Veronica selflessly supported him throughout his admittance to hospital ensuring he didn’t return home alone caring & supporting him.

Thus both have been wanting each other from afar ever since, but never had their chance at love.

Veronica is asked by Phantom to intervene and try to help Nick as he refuses to take any pain meds after his injury is exacerbated, due to a history of substance abuse within his family, causing everyone around him to be on the receiving end of his fowl temper & mood swings.

This beautiful story navigates their journey to become a very loving & fulfilling daddy dom and little girl relationship that is written wholeheartedly with a HEA.

Once again RJ Gray you have outdone yourself with beautiful, caring, compassionate and protective characters who bring out the best in each other.

This was a DDlg BDSM romance.

Veronica Wallace is a substance abuse counselor. She is a closeted little. She was raised by an alcoholic father and overbearing mother. Her mother pressured her into agreeing to marry her friend's socially acceptable son. Veronica left him at the alter with the help of her college roommate. She moved to Colorado to get a fresh start.

Nicholas "Bull" Schmidt is a former Navy SEAL, a Daddy Dom and runs an equine therapy program for children and adults at Valhalla. He was shot last year during an op and a donkey kicked him in the same shoulder recently. Due to a belief that addition runs in his family, he refuses to take any pain medication and he has turned into a grump. His friend Phantom asks Veronica to talk Bull into getting help.

They start a DDlg relationship, with Bill helping Veronica to accept her littleness. Their relationship is tested when Veronica confronts Bull about his injury. They reconcile and get their HEA.

Bull is a retired Navy SEAL, strong and true. He has a shoulder wound that causes constant pain, and which causes him to be a pain to everyone around him. Veronica, the substance abuse counselor on Valhalla Ranch, is recruited to talk to him, to encourage him to seek treatment for it. Problem: she has a crush on him, and wants to keep things personal and not professional. What she finds is a man who brings out the best in her, by holding her accountable and loving her. She has never had that before.

Wow. Just wow. Bull is such a good guy, even when he's surly. Veronica has strength she doesn't know she has until she taps into it. Together they are fire. Beautifully written, these characters leap to life from the page and worm their way into your heart. I dare anyone not to fall for the characters on Valhalla Ranch. These books just keep getting better and better. This can be read as a standalone, but references are made to previous books in the series. I recommend reading them all.

Nick "Bull" Schmidt (you gotta love the play on words) is a SEAL through and through. He's tough, believes that pain is the body ridding itself of weakness, is stalwart and stoic and doesn't complain. There's only one problem. He is in pain and refuses to do or take anything that will relieve said pain. Consequently he's the world's biggest grouch. Veronica Wallace, Valhalla's substance abuse and addiction counselor, has been asked to try and break through Bull's stubbornness. She has her work cut out for her. She has problems of her own as a result of an emotionally abusive upbringing. She also left her cheating fiance at the altar and moved to Grand Ridge for a fresh start. She's a little in need of a Daddy and he's Daddy who's been searching for his little girl for years. She's reluctant. He's patient. She's afraid to trust because she's been betrayed before. He promises to love her and meet all her needs given the chance. He expects her to follow his rules yet doesn't abide by some he's imposed. It may be a turning point if things don't change.
