**This will have spoilers because I'm too frustrated to care
This series started out really slow but still interesting enough that I wanted to continue on with it. I was disappointed when the second book came and Luna and her best friend Maddox were the ones starting a relationship. Her mate, Jackson wasn't in the first book much but when he was I thought the tension between him and Luna was very intriguing and I would have much rather seen them together. I liked her and Maddox as friends and really enjoyed how close they were but not as more than friends.
Then I got my wish in the third book when shocker of all shocks (that's sarcasm by the way) Maddox's actual mate popped up and he and Luna were no more. The third book essentially made the previous two completely pointless and that frustrated me so much. We had two books of Luna and Maddox from friendship to lovers only to turn around and all of that be ruined.
And the last book was SO rushed and added so many POVs that we still didn't even get to see Luna and Jackson, you know her actual mate, together much at all. I can't say this was romance at all because of that. And honestly that wasn't even my only issue. The slow pace to start this series wasn't fun and then the ending was so rushed it gave me whiplash. Add in extra POVs that felt unnecessary and I was about ready to throw my Kindle and give up.
I'm giving these books 5 stars, because they were really good and well written. Didn't get anything done, because I couldn't put them down. I'm kinda bummed about the ending though. I mean Luna came into all of these powers that were barely focused on and I don't think it's fair that she wasn't the one to get the kill in the end. I mean these books are supposed to be about Luna mostly and it just feels like she should have had that big moment instead of Remy. Side note, I agree with another review I saw. I don't like Poppy either. I just think Maddox needs someone with a different personality. I'm glad Luna and Jackson end up together, but it ripped my heart out for Luna going through everything she went through, especially with Maddox. I think if Maddox ended up with a more likeable mate it wouldn't make it as bad for the way he treated Luna. Luna is one amazing, strong Heroine and I totally love her. I love a strong FLC and it's hard to find in books sometimes.
