I made it through the first but didn’t even try to start the second book. The characters are immature - blowing up then giving each other the silent treatment. Colt is supposedly an NFL quarterback, but he loses focus on the last play of the playoff game that they’re losing by 2 because he’s looking around and is distracted by something he sees on the Jumbotron? There’s 5 minutes left on the clock, but he misses a “pass” from the center then the game is over?? Where do I start: it’s a SNAP from the center, not a pass. A play takes about 10 seconds, so if there’s 5 min left in the game, that’s a ton of time, not one quick play. That’s just a small sample of errors. I was puzzled that an author would write such glaring errors until I read that she lives in Australia! Please don’t write about American football players if you don’t know about the game or at least have someone else review and correct basic mistakes. It’s an insult to your readers. And for the love of Pete, don’t have the H call every woman “Sugar”, including his girlfriend in every sentence, the school receptionist, the drama teacher, etc. I was “sugared” to death and I hate that term. That’s NOT how they talk in New England where this was set. I live in Georgia and the men don’t say that here (a few southern women, but no men!). Is that how the author thinks American men speak? OMG. The plot and writing were okay, not good or particularly bad. Better than a high schooler could write. But as compared to so many other authors out there, I really couldn’t rate it higher than 2 stars.
I only just barely got through the first book. The Hs are American NFL players, story's set in Boston MA. I didn't read the author bio until I was about halfway, but the grammar and wording let me know that this wasn't an American author.
The book's not terrible, but we don't ring people. Nor is it a football match. I couldn't take anymore. Sorry.
