In Arcadia, summer's light can reach the deepest, coldest depths.
When a lethally beautiful Fae brings me to his city and shows me the truth about who I am, it feels like a dream. I'm a mermaid, a real, flesh-and blood-mermaid. Not only that, I'm something of a celebrity, too.
The Summer Fae live in an underwater city called Caeris, and its people have been waiting for me, the Lost Siren, to return. Why? Because they need me in order for a sacred ritual called the Siren Trials to take place. I don't know much about it, but I'm being treated like royalty - like a champion.
The only problem is, the pirate that kidnapped me is being put to death, and for some reason, I can't help but feel like that's my fault. I don't want him to die, but I also don't know how I can help him. Worse, I can't help but feel like I haven't shaken Captain Mordred off, and that I'm not quite safe with the Summer Fae.
Something is wrong, here, and I need to figure it out. Otherwise this dream is going to become a nightmare.
Siren Trials is an action-filled adventure in a fantasy world, with a funny sidekick, pirates, mermaids, and a slow-burn romance! Welcome to Arcadia, a land of beautiful monsters.

I have been reading this author for a while, and I really like the way she writes. This is the second book in this series, and it’s tied in with other series she’s written. First off, you really need to read the first book in this series to understand stand a couple of things in this book, but you probably could read this without that. This book basically starts where the first one left off with poor Kara dealing with a new reality and trying to find her way out. I love Bubbles and her new companion Delora, and I love how she doesn’t need a man to help her out of her trials. This was a very good addition to the series, although I’m a little frustrated we haven’t found out much about Kara’s past…but it’s coming! LOL! Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
We start pretty much immediately where the first book left off, and this story hits the ground running. Everything around Kara is new and confusing, and she’s not given any chance to get acclimated before she must face the Siren Trials. But she must also face the fact that not everyone wants her to succeed. It’s also possible that someone she trusts doesn’t have her best interests at heart. Will Kara survive the Trials to win her reward? What secrets will be uncovered in the process? I was immediately hooked. There are lots of different threads coming together in this story that make for some exciting revelations. Even though we don’t yet know the answers to all the mysteries of Kara’s past, what we do learn is plenty stunning enough to leave me hanging on with bated breath, desperate to discover what will happen next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
WHAT DID I LIKE - The author has an amazing imagination - The dialogue is fantastic. I specifically loved Blackstone. - The story flows well (except for a few nitpicks) and it’s easy to follow. - Who doesn’t love Captain Sparrow? Blackstone reminds me of him, which I believe was the author’s intention.- - I enjoyed it and I’m willing to give the next book a try.
WHY FOUR STARS There were some things that tripped me, some is purely personal preference and some is what I believe a flaw in this author, whom I believe can be a fantastic one if not for a few things: - The MC and her pixie sidekick are likable but sooo similar to the ones in The Coldest Fae series, the first books I read from this author and what made me want to read more. Basically the same personalities. - Not just the MC but there is a part of the plot (trials and caretaker) identical to that series. Fortunately the author did a twist and it wasn’t the same and that was why I opted to give 5 since I was starting to feel dissatisfied. But it was similar even as the author changed something. - I love having the male POV as well so I was excited to read Blackstone especially since he’s a fun character, but alas the narrative is identical to Kara’s. I’m very picking this aspect: if the author is writing in first person and has two POV, they better be distinctive! - Kara suddenly has powers, just like in that other series, and they aren’t won, they just are. That’s okay but this reader finds that a little off-putting. I want to see characters win those advantages and the author is definitely talented.
But that’s me. If you like fantasy romance and mostly clean (so fat) this is a fun, light read.
No pienso parar ahora.
I really liked the first book in the series. It felt fresh and kept me hooked. I was disappointed that the romance aspect was barely more than a hint, but I curious where the story was going, so I tried to read book two. This book took the story in a really strange and tired storyline....she immediately has to enter "trials" to compete as a siren? I can't tell you how many mysterious trial books I've read where a fish (pardon the expression) out of water must compete, barely knowing the rules. Geez, even Harry Potter did that. It's just crazy that she literally gets thrust into a competition the morning after she arrives From that point on even the characters felt tired like ones I'd read before. I found myself skimming pages and paragraphs getting bored. Won't be reading book three:(
This book takes place immediately after the events in book 1 and i loved that. Kara is discovering what being a siren means when suddenly she is told she must enter some trials but can't get any information about those. Still doubting a lot because of what the voice told her she wants to do well and that means helping Blackstone too ....with bubbles in her side Kara will have a lot to learn to survive and be able to see how is an ally from a foe because with fae.......appearences are not always synomym of truth
One thing is sure, Kara refuses to be manipulated by anyone and with her magic stating to appear she could be deadly opponent
very good paranormal fantasy with a touch of romance
GOD I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I always have a huge smile the whole time reading it!!! Its just a happy fun series that i enjoy from start to finish!
The characters are fun and endearing and even when things get complicated and dangerous Kara and her friends make it worthwhile for you! They still are able to put a smile on you because they are either very optimistic or hilarious debby downers! 😅
I heart 💙 this series so much! If you enjoy fun, happy messy pirates, sirens , Crazy mad villains with a lot of humor, action and shenanigans you will love this one!
OMG OMG OMG!! Book one was addictive and so good that I couldn’t wait to read the second book and boy oh boy was it worth it! From the start the author once again does an incredible job drawing you into this amazing world she has built as we join the summer fae in their underwater city of Caeris. Kara Is facing a lot of new things, some good, some not so good and she is doing her best to adjust. I am absolutely loving her adventure and her discovery of who she actually is. We get a few revelations but there is so many more secrets to be revealed and questions to be answered. It’s a fantastic continuation and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Siren Trials starts off right where Lost Siren ended so its easy to hop right back in and get lost in yet another fast paced, action packed, story that pulls in a little romance, trust and mistrust, and some fantastic humor. I absolutely adore all the characters. They're well written and their character development blooms in each book. The detailed world building let's you really SEE what you're reading and that's definitely another check in the box. Siren Trials is 100% worth the read and if you haven't started the series yet, absolutely get on it. The Enchanting Fae series is worth every second and every page turn and will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
If two sexy men offered to be your champion, which would you choose? The fae Prince or the fae pirate (think Captain Jack Sparrow)? Hard choice, right? Kara has to compete in the siren trials, and must choose a champion to assist, but are the trials what they seem? And is the King really as good as he seems?
I loved book two in this series. And I never saw the plot twist coming. I love unpredictable plots. I also love the characters. Reading this book was like watching a movie. I could visualise the fae world of Arcadia perfectly. Did I mention the vampire haunting Kara's dreams?
Oh boy is this getting good!!!! Never underestimate a woman ....even a confused one in a new world filled with all kinds of strange new things. Filled with sarcasm, adventure galore, wonder and deceit, prophecy and oh so much more. Bit by bit the pieces are being revealed, and I for one can't wait to see what awaits us in the next book!!!! Bring on the Queen 😉💖. These characters will grab hold of you and have you cheering from the sidelines. Go ahead and treat yourself now to this wonderful series now...you won't regret it.
I devoured this second book in this series and I love Kara, Bubbles and Captain Blackstone! We find out more of who Kara is and she really makes this a fantastic story. Now I will say that there is a cliff at the end, but it is a series. I Loved those that are close to Kara and the ending was still outstanding! Great Story! I Loved It!!! I received an ARC from the Author and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Choose to and Think that this is an Amazing Story!!!
I'm really enjoying the portal fantasy stories Katerina keeps bringing out with the human getting brought into the middle of the different faerie courts and their squabbles.
There is some great laugh out loud humour with some lovely organic romance not the over done insta love trope.
It's easy to read with a fast pace and i really love the pirate humour.
What a fantastic follow up to the last book! I swear her Fae books keep getting better and better. She kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! I absolutely love Kara and her pixie friend. The snark between them had me laughing. The romance between Kara and her guy is well thought out and developed! If you love mermaids you should be reading this series!
The next exciting adventure of Kara and Bubbles! The trials have begun and quickly expose the king to be a most loathsome being. I loved how powerful Kara is and how she stood up against her enemies. I am liking Delora more and more, especially after she showed her loyalty. This was exciting and fun to read!

Siren Trials is the second installment in author Katerina Martinez's The Enchanting Fae series. Siren Trials starts off right where Lost Siren ended. After being taken from the cruise ship where she worked, and chased by pirate Captain Mordred who nearly killed her to force her into cooperating with him, she was later rescued by Captain Damon Blackstone who promised that he would find a way to get her back to her home.
After reading book 1 I could hardly wait for this one to come out and boy was it worth the wait. I enjoyed every second and now I'm anxiously awaiting the 3rd book. Definitely recommend.
This was a great read and I can't wait for the next book. I love the characters and the character development. Love how quirky they are and how they interact as well. Makes it fun to read.
Trapped in and underwater world, scared and made to compete in the Siren Trials our heroine has a lot to learn and that curve is huge. Love the character and side kick, Bubbles. Definitely excited for the next installment. Well done!
The whole trials and everyone expecting Kara to know what was happening was super weird and had me confused. I’m alright with that plot choice but it definitely could have used some backing up. Otherwise, I’m ready for the next book
After reading book 1 I could hardly wait for this one to come out and boy was it worth the wait. I enjoyed every second and now I'm anxiously awaiting the 3rd book. Definitely recommend.
omg, this series just keeps getting better! … what girl don’t want to learn they are an actual mermaid, but what’s with those trials? … NEED the next book!
Well, I’m very disappointed because I enjoyed the first book enormously. One must think very carefully when writing about other popular novels and be careful to keep their characters unique.
