Rays of sunshine, the smell of fresh cut grass, and quiet country living.
That’s how my summer in midwest America was going to be spent.
Bringing the Knights home to meet my parents and spend time with my family was supposed to be relaxing. The perfect getaway to reset and heal from the physical and mental scars the Dark Lord left on me.
Unfortunately, his evil knows no bounds.
I’m quickly learning that the Dark Lord would go to any lengths–across oceans and continents–to destroy me when I least expected it. To make matters even worse, he brought help from the depths of hell.
Faced with a new set of challenges, I’m left to question if everything I’m doing involving the Elementi and my new reality is worth it all.
Is love for my guys, for the world, and for myself, enough to keep fighting for when we might have no hope of winning?
This is an adult romance where the leading lady does not have to pick between her men. This is an 18+ book that has sex, language, and paranormal violence. Book four out of five.
This is probably one of my favorite series by Elizabeth. I just love the world building in this series and the lore around the Elementi. Taming Fire advances the plot, has some nice steamy moments, and features more bonds/oaths. I was very excited to finally read Micahs book, but I honestly wish we had gotten a little more of him-but in a book with multiple guys they have to share page time so I get it. I am so excited for Jay's story and to read more about the Elementi world.
This book does feature OW drama from an ex of one of the guys. It's different than normal OW drama but does cause some major plot issues and feels. Not going to spoil it for anyone, but if you want details feel free to shoot me a message. I normally hate OW drama but this didn't bother me as much and I felt like it added to the plot.
After the events of the last book and the encounter with the Dark Lord, Layla is having a hard time dealing with panic attacks and anxiety. In an effect to help Layla, she and the guys travel to America to spend the summer with her family. As they try to relax and act like normal tourists, the demons seem to find Layla where ever she goes. So many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and many more ups and downs with Layla and her guys. Cant they ever get a break? This book was probably my favourite out of all them so far, I can’t wait to see how things play out in the next book!
Lailah is struggling with the scars she's left with from her past. So as they all work to gain some normalcy to their lives, and grow in their bond, demons are lurking at every turn, and some are keen on getting a hold of her.
This was by far the best book in the series. I love Laliah and how much she has grown as a character since book one. Her men are swoon-worthy and make you want to have your own harem.
The ending leaves us with a small cliffhanger, that I am excited to see resolved in the next book.
The author provided a copy. This is my honest review.
The books starts off and you are pulled completely into the story - it’s so detailed I didn’t want to put it down. This book is written with such emotion and has fantastic characters , Lailah and her Knights. We see Lailah suffering from the previous contact with the dark Lord. This storyline has some great steamy scenes and also more bonds and oaths. Loved the twists and turns throughout, oh and the demons everywhere causing chaos. Overall a great book with a killer cliff hanger ending, can’t wait for book 5 to see what happens next.
Elizabeth Knight is one of my favorite authors, the woman seriously has had me hooked from her very first book, Discovering Synergy, which was the first book in the Elementi series. Since then I have been excitedly waiting for each book in the series wait to see what will happen next in Liliah's story. Taming Fire is the fourth book in the series and it did not disappoint, the wait was so beyond worth it.
A lot of bad happened in Liberating Water, Lailah being taken by the Dark Lord and almost becoming Lililth's puppet has left its mark more than just on her skin. Lailah is dealing with PTSD, she's having nightmares, barely sleeping, and is having panic attacks, however, some time has passed and Lililah has been working on with therapist when it comes to her mental health and all of her guys are supporting her in any way they can, each has taken on a role. They are all very sensitive to her every wants and needs, and they take care of her in every way possible, it's brought them closer to her in their own way. There may have even been a bonding or two in this book. I love all the guys, they're great but one of the guys' past comes backs and threatens everything they have built with Lailah as Synergy.
Even Cami, Lailah 's best friend has tried her best to help her get through this rough patch. I love that Cami is still close with the guys but that Lailah is truly her best friend and that they are so close, that Lailah has someone outside the guys but in the same world to support her and Lailah needed Cami's levity because telling her family about the guys was not easy. Half of them reacted like I thought they would while the other half seemed more understanding. There were a few surprises and most definitely some awkward moments that had me laughing but I loved getting to know Lailah 's family and seeing her interact with them. It was fun getting to know Lililah's family, seeing what they are like, the family dynamics, and seeing more about where she grew up.
After the whole Dark Lord attack in the caverns, and the demon possession I kinda forgot about the serum that makes humans susceptible to demon possession. The demons in this book are clever, sneaky, organized, and ruthless, which are all very bad qualities to fight against. Lailah and the guys have fought so much and they still have more fighting to go, they have also lost so much and are threatened to lose more. Throughout all their struggles, Lailah may be tired but she keeps fighting for the greater good because she has a genuinely good heart. She is even training harder than ever and it's paying off but things look to have gone from bad to worst in this book, things are pretty much a dumpster fire and I wonder how they can ever fix things. The way Knight wrapped things up in this book was epically smooth, everything flowed well and made perfect sense and because of that, I can't wait to see how the entire series wrap up.
I loved this book so much! Taming Fire with its twists and turns, had relationship drama that made my jaw drop, had me tensing up as Lailah explains her relationship and new superhero status to her family, the bonds becoming more solid, and the beautiful relationship between Lailah and all the guys. Not to mention the demons wreaking havoc, causing all kinds of issues, people going missing, more demons coming to earth, and Lilith, the mother of all demons makes an appearance. Taming Fire was epic and I loved every single moment of it. The story ended on a cliffhanger that no one, not even Lailah and her guys saw coming. I can't wait until the fifth (and maybe last) book in the series, until then I will be excitedly waiting for Rescuing Air.
Taming Fire was an eventful and emotional rollercoaster. You can really see how much Lailah's character has progressed in this series and how much stronger overall she is. Let's be honest, she has been through the wringer. Coming from the sacrificial torture at the hands of the dark lord in the previous book, Lailah is of course affected by nightmares, PTSD, panic attacks, anxiety, and not to mention many physical reminders of her traumatic encounter. On her own, these things would probably consume her and put her on a much darker path. But I have to say, her men seriously stepped up in this book! They were considerate, doting, supportive, healing, and beyond patient with her as she slowly came back to herself and dealt with what she experienced.
Even though it is summer break from school, Lailah and her guys can't seem to catch one. In what was supposed to be a calm and relaxing visit with the family, danger is revealed to be closer to home than expected. It seems that with a lot of this book that when there is good, there is also bad as well and vice versa. Family reunions bring unexpected OW drama, betrayal leads to more inner strength that will be helpful in the future, and trauma leads to a more solid and protective team. But the one good thing that happened in this book with possibly no negative effects was the Bonding. I know the Bonding is expected by now, but you really see a difference in Lailah and her guys. The love they share is real and isn't forced by proximity, so the Bonds, although permanent, seem more like they will last because the people involved want them to and that they are a family unit, not just because it is what is required of Synergy. If given the choice between being Bonded or allowed to go another path, I'm sure this group is at the point in their relationship that they would choose to remain together.
This book has definitely been filled with ups and downs, and I'm sure the next book will contain a lot of lessons learned, actions (because "words are fleeting but actions are permanent'') to fix past decisions, true tests of a pure heart, and much more. It will be exciting to see what Knight decides for Lailah and her men in their fight against the demons.
This is the book Ive been most looking forward to in this series... I'm a sucker for a good grouch turned big, softy in love.... and Micah fit this description to a T.
This was an action-packed book, that definitely got a little heavy here and there. This, of course, wasnt surprising given everything that Lailah went through in the last book of this series. Ms Knight did a good job injecting the levity with some fun and I found myself very grateful for Cami and her ability to add some comedy and light-heartedness in some otherwise glum situations.
I am, generally, not a huge angels/demons genre fan. Not being a religious person, it sometimes dives into info I dont know; and dont really care to know. This series does a good job in keeping it simple and more of a fantasy feel without the preaching this genre can sometimes slip into.
There were a few twist and turns, including one that left my heart hurting for Lailah. I was surprised by the betrayal and am interested to see how the wrong is eventually righted (because i obviously have faith it can be repaired).
I really enjoyed the guys opening up more and being more vulnerable. Micah was expected, considering the books title and therefore focus, but there was a lovely little surprise near the end that I really enjoyed and left me on the edge of my seat for the next book!
I'm really loving this series! It has been great to see Micah and Lailah's relationship progressing the way it has.
The added element of OW drama really started to freak me out. I have almost no triggers (give me blood, guts, and murder any time) but a little OW drama seriously stresses me out. However, the way it was handled actually added to the story instead of just making the story painful. Did I LIKE the OW drama? No. But it really was necessary for the story.

I have to say that there was a ton of foreshadowing when it came to Parker and the guys not trusting him with Lailah so this OW drama wasn't really too surprising.
My hope for the next book is to have Parker actually make amends. I want some SERIOUS groveling. I can't stand when various "bonds" in PNR series like this allow for shitty H behavior. I don't want any of this "my traitorous body" bullshit that so often follows major fuckups. So here's hoping we get the resolution from Parker's beyond epic fuckup the we (and Lailah) deserve.
Can't wait for the next book! Excellent job to Elizabeth Knight!!!!

Wow. This series just honestly keeps getting better and better! Elizabeth Knight is truly phenomenal and her books are always so amazing, witty, sometimes devastating but brings out strong emotion where you are invested the plot and the characters. Taming Fire doesn’t disappoint and the Elementi series is absolutely one of my favourite.
I honestly hope it never ends because I’m 100% invested in Lailah and her knights. I love the relationships and how they’ve developed despite everything they’ve been through and how badass Lailah is. Being through so much already some R&R is definitely needed! The twists and turns keep going and Taming Fire is certainly not an exception.
With off the charts steam, drama and scars and pain of the dark lord Lailah is struggling but with her guys there’s no doubt she’ll get through this. Even the strongest, struggle and the emotional connection this creates with the reader makes you all that more invested. Simply amazing and a must read!
The latest instalment of the Elementi series sees Lala and the gang off to see her family and looking for some much needed down time….but things don’t always have a way of working out like that do they?
After the rundown with the Dark Lord will Lailah manage to heal from her experiences and avoid being made into the conduit for Lilith to wreak havoc using her power?
Packed full of sexy, explosive action…there are more completed bonds as everyone is looking to settle into their own version of domestic bliss, heartbreak and tragedy - six flags will never be seen in the same light again for sure!lol
Ms Knight keeps her foot firmly on the gas with this one, providing a rollercoaster ride of emotions that made me wonder just where she could lead us to next. The story is brilliantly balanced and ends in that all encompassing cliffy that is sure to really p you off as usual.lol
A brilliantly entertaining read, and a hearty 5⭐️s from me!!
Lailah and her men are back with Taming Fire. You know who is fire, it is Micah. So we have seen his struggle from the previous books. So why did he act that way? We learn a little more about him and now we hope that he does take the oath and bond with Lailah. There is definitely a lot of heated moments and it is steamy. Now we know that she is synergy and the dark lord wants her. So we know that there is going to be action but what we don't expect is the hurt and betrayal that happens. We learn that Lilith the mother of demons has been making moves as well. Things get intense and trust me you will not want to put the book down because you want to know what will happen. When I got to the end I was shocked. Why cause of course we end with another cliffy. Now we have to wait to see what will happen next. I wonder will they be able to defeat the dark lord. I feel as though it never ends. What more will they need to go through before it all ends.
Just when I think the book can’t get any better than the previous one, Elizabeth outdoes herself! Taming Fire was full of action, steam and moments I did not see coming! I love how much Lailah has grown since the first book. She’s accepted who she is and the men around her. I love her relationships with each of the guys and enjoy the detail Elizabeth puts into their interactions. This book was definitely more serious than the previous books with the aftermath of the events with the Dark Lord. There is no escaping him and it’s just been one thing after another for them. They can’t seem to catch a break even though they try to get away. I cannot wait to read the next book and can’t believe we’re nearing the end!
This is one of my favorite series by Elizabeth Knight... and boy she did not disappoint with this latest installment. I think bringing Lilah's family into the mix brought an interesting new dynamic as well as some hilarious moments. This book does take more of a somber tone due to Lilah's trauma, but it does not lack in the humor that Knight is known for infusing in her books. Also, I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but I totally think that Parker needs the kick in the pants that happened in this book, I am very excited to see how those events pan out in the next books. If you are wanting some action... don't worry this book has got you covered, there are some really good fight scenes woven in as well.
WHAT THE F?? I'm DEAD Never saw it coming. Gosh. Ok,. spoilers ahead BEWARE
What the fuck was that with Parker? Geez I personally dislike when one of the H in the RH already had a relationship or loved someone,.I'm a jealous bitch what can I do? It gets even worse when he doesn't know if he still loves her. God, that hurt! Honestly, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to forgive and forget what he did. He is kind of a big nope.for.me rn. I felt really sad for Lilah. A betrayal like that is not easy (plays traitor by Olivia Rodrigo). I hated this part, NGL. It ruined their relationship for me. That being said, yeh others are amazing, loving, and take care of Lailah. That's what I want to see and what she deserves!
Moving on to yeh last one

Elizabeth has done it again! The Elementi series just keeps getting better. In Taming fire we see the aftermath of Lailah being taken by the Dark Lord. She has extreme anxiety and panic attacks and her and her guys are having to work through them. I loved this book because we get to see Lailah’s family and how they interact with her and the news that she is an Elementi. I loved her family and how supportive they were! I was also so happy to see who she cemented her bond with, but my heart broke for her when other events happened. I don’t want to give too much away, but I highly recommend this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Book 4 of a series and not to be read as a standalone. This instalment includes violence, trauma and some OW drama.
Lailah is struggling to come to terms with what happened during her encounter with the Dark Lord as she returns home to America with her Knights and Cami. A summer of R&R with her guys is just what’s needed but unfortunately there’s no rest when your Synergy and the Dark Lords reach is vast. Meanwhile a blast from Parker’s past threatens his bond to Lailah resulting in some jaw dropping concequences for our group.
This is a thrilling ride from start to finish, sprinkled with surprises there’s action, heartbreak and a big helping of steam.
I have been waiting to read how Micah finally bonds with Lialah! I was not disappointed in that but it was just the tip of the iceberg. Our girl has gone through so much and she really needs time to recover from the trauma of what happened in the last book. One would think a trip home would be a soothing respite, but this is an Elizabeth Knight book, so we all know that is not how this works. There was so much action and steamy times packed in this book. I was genuinely shocked at points and I honestly don't know how some of the events in this book can be resolved. I have faith and no patience, I am going to sit here on pins and needles waiting for the next book.
This was the first series I read by Elizabeth and it is still my ultimate favorite! I love these characters story and I wish I could continuously stay in this world. This next installment saw even more character growth and also some major bumps in the road towards their happily ever after. I was on the edge of my seat and the whole time and didn't want it to end. They really have to come together and learn to lean on each other and what they can do working together. This book definitely had plenty of action, steam, plot twists, and a major throw your kindle moment. I can't wait to see what is going to come next for this group, I never want their story to end!
This book was amazing and so emotional. Absolutely love it. I really enjoyed watching the bond get stronger for lailah and her men and the emotional roller coaster that you went on along with the characters was truly amazing. That ending though!! Seriously recommend this book and series. Can't wait for the next book. There is so much action and hotness and tears that it leaves you feeling like your soul was shattered and put back together just by the strength that Lailah posseses. Truly remarkable.
I think out of all the books in this series so far this one has been the most emotional (for me). I loved that Lailah and her guys get to go to her home and meet her family finally but that doesn’t mean it’s all fun and (board) games! There’s a lot of action in this book as Lilith keeps at trying to find a viable host and also trap Lailah into being the conduit. Parker’s side story was really what got me in this book. Regardless of that I loved the progress Lailah made with the rest of the men, it felt like it was a long time coming. I can’t wait for more!
Outstanding book in the series. I’ve been anxiously awaiting fire. And it doesn’t disappoint. So much action and drama in this one. And meeting the family added another layer. An old love interest pops up and causes major issues and I’m not sure how it’ll be handled long term but I like that it wasn’t just swept away like it was nothing. Lilah is an amazing character who is growing in depth and complexity with every book just as her men are. I love this series. It’s hot and romantic and a rollercoaster of feels. Definitely recommend.
Ok really? Lailah may have been blessed by angels but the girl is Murphy's Law. That being said she has grown nicely as a character. No longer as naive as when she first started and stronger, much more balanced. The guys - well this book was full of SHOCKERS when it came to the guys. I'm awed by the growth of some and pissed off at one (ugh! He made me want to jump through the book. Idiot!). However, I'm curious how it's all going to work out. Really loving this series and you should definitely start it if you have not
Wow! Elizabeth knight knows how to write a story that encompasses your whole being while reading. This story was phenomenal and had me not wanting to put it down. I absolutely loved the writing, the descriptions really give you a sense that you're there in the story. The characters are beautifully designed and have such a raw, natural feel about them. This fourth book was spectacular from the first page. If you haven't started this series, I highly recommend it. I adore this story through and through!
HOW DOES IT KEEP GETTING BETTER? I shouldn't be surprised, but Elizabeth has yet again knocked it out of the park with this one. It honestly keeps getting better and better! But holy emotions batman! I love Lailah and her guys and love seeing more bonds forming, but after the last book there's no rest for our fmc. The twists are back all through the emotional rollercoaster that is this book. Though you'll be left reeling at the end you'll want to jump straight back on because you can't fail to be drawn into these books!
So this book happened. Man oh man that plot keeps thickening and thickening. Lailah shows her vulnerability in this. She’s coping with the trauma from the last battle and also struggles with a connection with a certain someone. I kind of felt Lailah was in the wrong when it came to a blow out situation. But I know they can get past it. The dark Lord cracks me up. Every time I read that I think Harry Potter. Lilith is a raging witch with a B. Karma is going to be evening the playing field.
What a ride this is! Best book in the series in my honest opinion. I've recently re-read to get ready and it's an epic journey for sure. The growth of Lailah in the series is amazing to see! I'm really happy at how the development is here. Trying to act normal is hard when the demons find you where ever you are. Can't imagine what it must be like for her. Never a quiet time but her life is a rollercoaster that seems neverending. Can't wait for more.
Blown away once again by Elizabeth Knight! Lailah is working though her last dreadful meeting with the dark lord. She continues to push forward though the trauma caused by him and still put her men and her family before herself. I am still reeling from the last part of the book, my mind has officially been blown. Can't forget all the smexy steamy moments mixed in with the chaos in this book. I could not put this down and ended reading it in one sitting.
This book is amazing! The ride of emotions, the realness of PTSD and how it can effect everyone around you. Their was moments of steam and moments of heartbreak it just keeps sucking your back in when you need to put it down. This is a wonderfully crafted book that continues a story without being predictable or losing it focus or becoming boring. Trust me when I say READ THIS SERIES! You won't regret it!
How does she keep doing this?! This book has taken me on a ride emotionally and I'm here for it. I definitely shed a few tears and am just shock at one of the guys! I love seeing characters grow and its been an amazing journey so far for Lailah and her men. This book/series has it all!! Action, emotion and well a little bit of PTSD... what more could you want?!
After the ending of this book, I'm in agony awaiting for the next installment!!
This is the fourth book in the Elementi series and really loved it. Lilah is an incredible FMC, and of course I love her and the guys! I love the character development and world building in this one. The storyline is amazing with all of its action, intrigue, twists and turns! I couldn’t get enough of this awesome book and I cannot wait for more!
