Mel has found herself pregnant due to a life of drug abuse and trading her flesh for money.
Choosing not to carry the baby to term, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
But things don't go according to plan.
Given an opportunity to make a large amount of money, she contemplates a grotesque deal. Will she commit to the unthinkable, and how will her already damaged mind cope with her actions?

Abortus is an extreme horror tale not for the faint-hearted. It has sex, violence, mental health, and abortion themes and is not for the easily offended.

Bald, bearded and bumbling, Mark likes the spooky side of life and things that go bump in the night. Although that's usually him wandering into something, as he didn't bother to turn a light on.

Mark writes horror stories in a variety of styles within the genre and enjoys spending time with his family - including his dog, who may, or may not, be demonic.
He's also a bit of a nerd and when he hasn't got his face buried in a book can be found playing video games and board games.

This a heartbreaking story and it’s not going to be for every reader. It’s about a woman who’s had a hard life: a drug addict who sells her body for her next score. She decides to allow someone to film her home abortion for a large sum of money. She thinks the fetus is dead anyway. What happens when the filming begins is one of the hardest, most vile things I’ve read in a long time. By the end I was nearly in tears and I never cry from books. Never. If you can handle the subject matter I can recommend this one because the writing is fantastic.

4.5 ⭐️ This was seriously a lot to intake. This is about a woman named Mel. She’s pregnant, addicted to drugs and wants rid of this baby. She is suddenly offered a large amount of money that she can’t seem to refuse. This book was vile and sad at the same time. I only recommend to those who like the EXTREME

A dark and disturbing novella packed with so many disturbing twists and turns and an ending that made me jealous I didn't think of it first. If you can stomach it (*wink*) I would definitely recommend it.

If the answer to the question "do you like books that require therapy after reading?" Is yes, then this is the book for you.
It's incredibly graphic and should only be read on an empty stomach. It's also extremely well written and, much like a car crash, impossible to look away from.
All joking aside, Abortus does contain themes that some might find upsetting, but for those who have an iron constitution it's a must read.
Mark MJ Green is a sick puppy who should be stopped before he corrupts many a fragile mind, therefore creating an army of equally sick puppies. I do, however, look forward to reading more from this author.

This was honestly one of the grossest stories that I've read in a while. Written in such a way to make every bit of pain and sensation be experienced by the reader. Very, very graphic and disturbing, but it made sure to have quite the impact, even with its limited runtime. Anyone who is squeamish or not fully prepared to spend a half hour reading about a woman giving herself an abortion should steer clear of this one. For the rest of us extreme horror sadists, this is a really unsettling, yet satisfying, way to start your day. God help us all...

WOW!! What an amazingly, dark, disturbing and brilliant story!!

Mel is pregnant, but it's the last thing she needs, it gets in the way of her sex and drugs lifestyle. So, she's trying to get rid of it, in her own way! Then Lenny makes her an offer, one she wants to refuse, but can she afford to in her situation? It's surprising and sad what people will do if enough money is involved....

I found it quite emotional, yet also very tense, horrifically brutal, horrifying, trippy, insane and extremely disturbing!

This story made me cringe so much. I had to keep putting it down for a few seconds, and take a deep breath, before starting again! (Probably not the best book to read whilst recovering from a Hysterectomy!! 😉😂) I felt every single, pain, scrape, cut and tug with her! I also felt her mind snapping and the fear and emotion!

From the title and extreme horror category that this is in, you think you know exactly where this book is going to go, you don't!!!!

This was a tough read. I found myself physically cringing and squeezing my legs together as the story progressed. And the ending was satisfying in a gory, demented way. Mark Green was able to truly disturb me with this short story and I won't soon forget it. 4/5 skulls 💀

The scary thing about reading Mark’s books is that he manages to weave reality into his stories, this one in particular. I imagine that in some seedy corner of the world, this incident has most likely taken place and exists within the depraved sections of the web.
There are few authors, in my opinion, that can drip mental illness into a gruesome story and still be respectful while maintaining a realistic dimension.

OMG...My lady parts actually hurt, my body feels like it's been run over by an articulated lorry and my brain feels like it most definitely needs therapy after reading this vile, grotesque and dark book.

This was one nasty little read...with an shocking ending that left me dangling on the end of an umbilical cord!!!

It was extremely hard to take in and digest at times...but it was well worth it.

It won't be for everyone and will offend some readers...so check it out for trigger warnings before hand...So don't say I didn't warn you!!

This disturbingly dark tale follows a pregnant Mel who will do anything for money and drugs. I had my legs clenched and ended up curled into the fetal position while reading this gory tale.

For those who like it extreme and depraved, this is right up your street. A pregnant woman is offered money for those who like to watch the sick and twisted. I'm not sure any woman could do this to herself with all her faculties, but it's an entertaining read nonetheless.

If you have the stomach, by all means, go ahead and read this. You have been warned.

Holy heck, this was gruesome, messed up and honestly really good! Trigger warnings galore and it’s not for every reader (it’s extreme horror) but I definitely enjoyed it in it’s messed upedness! Will definitely read more from this author.

I have started, then stopped and erased these very lines multiple times in the past 15 minutes or so … I want to do this tale justice, but I can’t decide where to begin… so, let’s start at the beginning and introduce this brilliantly nuanced protagonist.

“She was not a whore, and hates the assumption that she was. She made the distinction based on how she didn’t sell her cunt regularly as her only source of income. Just because someone naked a cake occasionally, that didn’t make them a baker did it? Therefore, just because she traded sex for money when desperation - or need - called for it didn’t make her a whore” - Mark Green, Abortus

The old trope about the “hooker with the heart of gold” is danced around and delicately woven into this story… Her evolution and de-evolution was brutally birthed upon those pages into a conclusion that strangely made me smile.

This is dark, it’s gritty, it’s prose is absolutely beautiful and it’s scarily akin to what is now reality for so many women nowadays. You all need to read this.

This book was raw, real, hard to read, yet hard to put down. I devoured it in 30 minutes. At times I didn't know if I could continue reading it because I could literally feel the words on the paper. I didn't feel myself judging the main character, just feeling bad that she felt this was her only way out of the situation she was in. This book is definitely not for beginners of the Extreme Horror genre. I do feel that more seasoned readers will appreciate how well written this book is. This was my first book from this author and I look forward to reading more by him.

Well that was certainly true horror in my opinion. I almost don't have words. I think I ranged every emotion while reading this short story! I have so many questions about what happens next, but also it was a fair and decent cliffhanger to leave one off on. Like the end of a great horror movie that you may never get a sequel too.

Pardon the pun, but Abortus by Mark Green dug its hooks in me by the time I hit that first period at the end of the opening sentence. Presumably set in a seedy, skid row motel room, Melissa and Lenny contemplate dark deeds and bloody bargains as she seeks to alleviate a dilemma and he seeks to capitalize on his fetishes. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but when horror fans (such as myself) call something ‘disgusting’ they mean it as a compliment, and I can’t complement this story enough. It’s twisted and sick in all the best ways.

Abortus secretes terror much in the manner an open wound bleeds: it’s hot and sticky, and as much as you might want to look away you’ll be compelled to stare, eyes wide, as the blood flows. It’s everything extreme horror should be: grotesque, revolting, yet compelling and profound.

Although the story is not political in the least, and can be enjoyed (for lack of a better term as ‘enjoyed’ seems a strange assessment, given the topic) by readers with opinions on both sides of the subject, the recent overturning of Roe v Wade in the U.S. brings renewed relevance and urgency to this tale, making it a must read for those who have the stamina to endure its horrors to the final page. And what a final page it is!

It’s a shocker right up to the last sentence.

This story was arresting and sad. I would like to believe that this is the tale of a dark and dystopian commentary on current Western society, or some such nightmare. But, in reality it is probably a situation that has occurred more than a few times. This story is very well written. In terms of darkness, blood, and imagery, this story reminds me of Clive Barker’s The Hellbound Heart. Coming from me, that’s a big compliment. However, the big difference is that The Hellbound Heart was a complete creation. That’s what makes this so sad. My conclusion is that I do recommend this book, but make sure you can stomach it. If you can’t handle the movie Hellraiser, if it were a true story, you shouldn’t read this book. If you have any triggers, you should carefully evaluate what you can handle. Dark, brutal, horrific; all of these apply to this short story that got me out of nowhere. Still, there's also a lot of emotion and empathy for the central character: beyond the cruelty, Green manages to convey to the reader all the nasty feelings, the dizzying thoughts and the self-imposed torment of Mel, who's decided to get rid of her unborn baby. The issue is a very sensitive one, but it's all handled extraordinarily well. Expect a lot of stretch; both of your moral boundaries and of Mel's body. The ending is extremely satisfying. Recommended.

This was a really good read.
The prose is really lucid, and weaves nicely to balance out the dark and disturbing subject matter. The author has carefully crafted the story so as to balance out the beats really well.

However, massive trigger warning follows the story, as it deals with a twisted and sick horror story. This book will make you feel really heavy and sick after completion. I am eagerly waiting for the sequel.

First book to EVER make me feel physically nauseous. Excelled my expectations by miles. I have never seen a piece of writing with such a unique and unusual storyline, and just to make it better, it was a super quick read. I loved the fact that it was written from a non-personal narrative, however we were still able to witness Mel’s own thoughts (demonstrated through italic dialogue) within the telling of the story. The close detail and the idea of not knowing whether Mel’s hallucinations were a product of the drugs taken prior, her insanity following her overwhelming decision, or whether she was actually witnessing such things produced an ambiguous yet beautiful twist to this piece of work :)
