Follow along with a group of heroes as they seek out a weapon to destroy the gods in this epic Age of Sigmar novel.
n eldritch days long lost to memory, those desperate to escape the cruelties of the gods forged a terrible weapon. Capable of granting the humblest mortal the power to stand against the might of the divine, it came to be known as Godsbane.
For Thelana Evenfall, Lumineth loreseeker and tutor at the Lyceum Fundamental in the city of Settler's Gain, the weapon is a footnote – the shadow of a rumour buried under mountains of long-forgotten lore. But when whispers of its whereabouts resurface, the vying factions within Hysh emerge to claim its power. From trusted allies to insidious cults, Thelana must navigate a treacherous landscape of clashing armies, political machinations and betrayals within betrayals, all in a desperate effort to defend the powerless from the all-powerful and to ask the unanswerable
Impresionante...
This is a fun enough read which kept me interested throughout its lengthy story. The characters are sort of well written, at least most of the time. The adventures they go on are interesting and I genuinely wanted to know what happened, but that’s sort of where the book fell flat for me. Because nothing really happened.
This is one of the longest Age of Sigmar books I’ve read, and while I enjoyed it, I honestly might as well not have read it. Because it did nothing.
If you like Harry Potter and ever wondered what a Harry Potter book would be like if it was written to sell warhammer then you may enjoy it more than me, but I can’t think of anyone else to recommend it to.
Thelena Evenfall, lumineth loreseeker embarks on a quest to defend Hysh and the mortal realms from a terrible weapon of the long lost past, with the power to defeat the gods themselves. Dale Lucas crafts a tale with immense detail, building an elaborate world filled with characters who all have meaning and relevance. This is one of the best new Age of Sigmar novels.
A true fantasy epic for Age of Sigmar. A good cast and sprawling adventure make for a very fun read. It does start to buckle under it ’ s own weight about 2/3rds through, but remains interesting to the very end.
I will say, I don't think the book provides an adequate reason for why the antagonist is in the wrong, though.
It was okay. I wouldn't highly recommend it. Felt like only about 70% of the book was necessary, the other 30% could have been left out. Started strong, got very slow and didn't really feel anything for the majority of the characters. Some bits were enjoyable but the boring outweighed the good.
