The third book in the Arresting Onyx series, Arresting Benjamin is a suspenseful romance. It follows Belle and Benji a couple who shared one passionate night together. Months later, Benji sees Belle and realizes his mistake in not pursuing a relationship. He wants to convince her that they have a future together, but Benji hurt Belle deeply when he left without so much as a goodbye. When Belle reveals she’s pregnant with his baby, they decide to give their relationship another chance. But with a stalker threatening Belle, Benji’s unstable sister returning, and a host of other issues standing in their way, the couple’s journey is rife with complications.
I like both Benji and Belle. They are both strong, independent, hard-working people, and they make a great pair. Benji is a mechanic and business owner who has worked hard to establish himself. Belle is an aspiring musician and has gained some recognition in the indie world. Benji is also really caring, and I love that he believes in second chances. He tries to help his sister who struggles with addiction, he wants to protect Belle from a scary stalker, and he is a dedicated uncle to his young nephew. Both are stubborn and impulsive, and they sometimes act and speak without thinking. I like that the author created realistic characters, flaws and all.
Belle and Benji have a lot of chemistry, and it’s pretty clear their feelings for each other aren’t just sexual (though the sexy scenes are steamy!). Benji is very protective of Belle, and he is a definite alpha male. I like that Belle fights her own battles and doesn’t let Benji take over. She is a strong person, which she proves time and again in the story. Something I really liked about their relationship is how hard Benji falls for Belle. She is more hesitant because of how he hurt her in the past, but Benji falls hard and quickly.
Belle has a fantastic group of friends, and I love the role female friendships play in the story. The women are very supportive of each other, and if you read the other books in the series, you’ll recognize some of them. Benji also has connections to the characters in the first two books, and I like that they have secondary roles in this story. It’s always great to see what’s happening in the lives of characters you read about in previous books.
The story also has a lot of suspense as a stalker has targeted Belle, and Benji’s sister has possible connections to a gang that’s plagued other characters in the series. As the stalker’s actions become more violent and frightening, Belle and Benji do everything they can to protect themselves and their unborn baby. It’s intense, especially since they don’t know who is a threat and where danger might lurk. I would recommend checking out the content warning before starting the story, as there are parts that could be triggering for readers.
This is a suspenseful and dramatic addition to the series, and though it’s the third book, it can be read as a standalone. Thanks to Amber Daulton for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

The story is a continuation of characters, old and new, in the Arresting Onyx series. Two people, who meet up, with mutual friends, will have a night of passion. The problem, one is not looking for a relationship, and the other coming out of a situation with a cheater. What happened that one night, leads to more than they expected. But, Benji leaves the next morning and never contacts Belle again. How is she supposed to accept he is a changed man now? Seeing her out of the blue is his hope for a second chance—gaining her trust will be a challenge.
The story is a mystery, with suspense, and danger, people from the past, and new people in the story. Amber Hamlin is a musician by night and works in an insurance call center during the day. She has had months of ups and down, catching her boyfriend in bed with her rival. A New Year’s Eve and meeting up with Benji leads to a night of passion—that results in a pregnancy. Why this wasn’t anything that Belle or Benji planned, now that he knows, he wants to be involved.
Belle: A lot of men should love a free pass.
Benji: If you don’t want me involved because you think I wouldn’t be a good father. you’re wrong. I’m great with my nephew. I’d love and treasure my own child too.

The story is actually several stories or events that intertwine together. It is the relationship between Belle and Benji as they begin as a couple—slowly, by dating and getting to know each other. But it seems anytime these two are together, it is easy for them to become intimate. Another part of the story is the relationships between other family and friends. When Benji’s estranged sister returns needing help, it leads to problems. Meghan has a bad history and has soured most people with the harm and damage she has done. But, she is still Benji’s sister—and he does help—because of what their dad would do. But with Meghan, come evil, and danger, and leads this story in a direction of drugs, cartels, and kingpins. Then Belle is facing threats from someone—and those threats become destructive, and violent, and places her and her baby at risk.
I love how Benji does things to try and prove to Belle he is all in, yet she doesn’t fully believe him. She has been hurt too many times to blindly trust. The chemistry between them sizzles off the pages and you can’t help but like them together. Benji, at times, is caught between a rock and a hard place, wanting to do what is right, and best for not only the relationship between him and Belle but also the obligation to Alan and Danny, while trying to offer assistance to Meghan—even if he doesn’t trust her, she is still his sister.
The story has the good, the bad, and some very evil, vile people. It also has scenes of intimacy between a loving couple, that at times are explicit. The life created by Benji and Belle allows these two to find their way back to each other and begin again. This time, so much is at stake and the responsibilities are what help ground them both.

Roller Coaster Ride of Romance and Suspense
A thrilling roller coaster ride of romance and suspense will keep you turning the pages of Arresting Benjamin by Amber Daulton. Although it’s the third in a series (Arresting Onyx), it can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read the first two books but didn’t have any trouble getting into the story. As soon as the hero, Benjamin Starwell (a mechanic), and heroine, Belle Hamlin, (a musician), get out of one harrowing jam, they fall into another, plagued by dangerous stalkers, drug lords, an unstable sister and other complications, such as Belle’s pregnancy, a result of their one-night stand. I enjoyed Benjamin’s extended family and wanted to read more about them. Smart and sexy, readers will enjoy these characters and the plotline.

Arresting Benjamin is the third book in Amber Daulton’s Arresting Onyx series. I loved the first two books in the series, so I had high hopes for book 3. Arresting Benjamin didn’t disappoint. While all three books are romantic suspense, this book has a back-stacked plot. Belle’s stalker, while scary, is nothing compared to the final scare at the end. I jumped out of my skin about three-quarters through when the violence escalated sharply. I couldn’t put it down because I was so frightened for Belle.
My favorite books are romances and Belle & Benji’s romance is a brilliantly written enemies-to-lovers. This trope is difficult to pull off and Daulton does a fantastic job of not only conveying Belle’s hurt but Benji’s redemption. The couple has a one-night stand gone wrong before the book starts, but have remained in the same friend circle as couples from the previous books in the series. A great bonus to fans of the series because they get updates on their favorite couples through their interactions with Benji and Belle.
Belle is an ultra-strong, rocker chick who reminded me of Meredith Brooks. I loved watching her walls crumble when Benji declares he wants to be a father to their baby.
She’s independent without being cold. I loved her commitment to her musician dream as well as motherhood. While they seem like oil and water at the beginning of the book, Benji is perfect for her. He has the patience of a saint and doesn’t have the ego to prevent him from apologizing when needed. It is the mix of alpha male and new dad that makes Benji totally swoon-worthy.
Overall, I highly recommend Arresting Benjamin to hopeless romantics who love the enemies-to-lovers trope, and romantic suspense fans who don’t mind feeling a little scared while reading.

If you like romantic suspense on the hot side, with danger threatening from several directions, don’t wait to pick up Arresting Benjamin, Amber Daulton’s latest in her Arresting Onyx series. Benjamin (Benji) and Belle are an inviting hero and heroine, whose relationship works from an awkward, rather antagonistic, start to a satisfying conclusion. Heroine Belle is a sassy, tough, and talented musician by night /insurance customer service voice by day. She’s worked long and hard for her standing in the music field and when a stalker threatens her, she fears Benji will be pulled in. Benji is protective of her and their unborn baby and isn’t willing to stand aside when she’s under attack. But Benji has a sister he’s trying to help, so more than a stalker threatens the him and Belle, and the last few pages of the book are non-stop action as they fight for survival.
Ms. Daulton has quite a touch with creating memorable characters. Dialogue also is in keeping with the world she creates so vividly. The plot is fast-moving and filled with a variety of conflict and, yes, some steamy love scenes.
Arresting Benjamin is the first of the Onyx series that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last. A secondary character did something at the end here that raised lots of questions for me. Hope the answers are in the next book, Ms. Daulton! 4.5 stars

This is not the first book I’ve read by Ms. Daulton, and won’t be the last. I love her Onyx series.
After a one-night with the sexy musician on the brink of stardom, Belle, Benji takes the low road and disappears.
Repentant and realizing he may have missed his chance at happiness, he tries to make things right.
When he does, Benji becomes the man we all need in our lives.
Belle thinking she’s on her own with an unplanned pregnancy, does what women all over the world do. Moves on with her life even though not the one she’d planned. Though trust has been broken, she allows the father of her baby the chance to make amends. Things are tough, though, and regaining trust is difficult.
Add to the difficulties is a well-fleshed-out cast of secondary characters with their own opinions on the matter, a deranged stalker, street gangs, and a police force that, at every corner, is stymied by funding and staff shortages.
This is a fast-paced novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat until a harsh but satisfying ending.
I highly recommend this novel which can be read as a standalone, but the reader will be well served by engaging with the entire series.

Belle’s got every right to be angry with Benji. The mechanic skipped out on her after a one-night stand and, against all odds, she’s pregnant. She’s willing to give him a second chance – but he has to prove himself. And Belle’s busy these days – boring day job, burgeoning indie rock career, a pregnancy…oh, and a stalker.
Benji’s instinct is to go all caveman and protect his woman and his unborn child. Slowly, though, he learns that Belle doesn’t react well to those tactics. She’s an independent woman who’s relied on herself for a long time. She also has a group of close women friends – whose friendship I envied – and a desire to live her best life. That means balancing everything going on in her world – including falling in love with the father of her child.
But things don’t go smoothly – between Belle’s stalker and Benji’s sister, things are chaotic. This book moves quickly through a series of events that culminated in something I didn’t see coming. I liked that. I enjoyed the story very much and I encourage others to snag it and give it a try. I’m glad I did.
Oh, and I loved Pepperoni.

Arresting Benjamin: WOW! Fantastic story with amazing characters. I loved that it was full of suspense, surprises, and lots of romance. Belle didn't like the way Benji left her without saying anything. He never stopped thinking about her and was also beating himself up about how he left Belle. He was determined to convince her that he is worth a second chance. He is not the man he was that night. It was a very entertaining and never-dull moment in the story! The story kept the readers on their toes. Great job Amber Daulton!

Belle Hamlin lives to perform on stage, singing, and playing guitar. She's tough as nails and has built thick walls around her heart, determined never to let anyone in. That is until she discovers she's pregnant. A one-night stand with a sexy mechanic, Benjamin Starwell, changes her life.
He's the father.
I love that she told him. I've read so many stories where the woman tries to go it alone and not tell the father, so Belle's bold honesty is refreshing. The tumultuous and passion-driven course their lives take is riddled with obstacles. A drug lord, a jealous ex-boyfriend, and an even more jealous singing rival cause all sorts of life-threatening situations for Benjamin and Belle. I rooted for them all the way. They worked so hard at trying to build a relationship based on having a child together, but in the process, fell in love. The author threw plenty of hardships their way and kept me engaged and interested. The sex scenes sizzle. While there may have been a tad too many that did nothing to move the story forward, they were hot and graphic. The personalities of the characters are well-defined and three-dimensional. Belle's snarky attitude fit her perfectly, and Benjamin's undying loyalty endeared him to me. There are other characters in this story I enjoyed. I know this book is a part of the Onyx series, but it works well as a standalone. If you like a romance filled with action, angst, and hot sex, you will enjoy this book!

A drug lord, a jealous ex-boyfriend, and an even more jealous singing rival cause all sorts of life-threatening situations for Benjamin and Belle. I rooted for them all the way. They worked so hard at trying to build a relationship based on having a child together, but in the process, fell in love. The author threw plenty of hardships their way and kept me engaged and interested. The sex scenes sizzle. While there may have been a tad too many that did nothing to move the story forward, they were hot and graphic. The personalities of the characters are well-defined and three-dimensional. Belle's snarky attitude fit her perfectly, and Benjamin's undying loyalty endeared him to me. There are other characters in this story I enjoyed. I know this book is a part of the Onyx series, but it works well as a standalone. If you like a romance filled with action, angst, and hot sex, you will enjoy this book!

A protective hot man? Yes please!
I really enjoyed Belle and Benji's story. I loved that she was a singer and song writer and I loved that Benji wants to take responsibility of his baby and will not give up on his family even though it is hard at times (Meghan come to mind!)
The stalker theme also allowed him to act as the protective hero I always enjoy reading about. (who doesn't?)
The sex scenes were hot, just the way I like them and the emotion between them felt real.
All in all, I recommend!

Daulton packs plenty of hot, steamy action into her story as Belle and Benjy get reacquainted. There is an armload of conflicts here, as the pair journey from a simple one-night stand into the search for something meaningful. Both have had challenges in their pasts which make them skeptical.
The characters are well drawn and easy to identify with. There are also several subplots that help drive the book. Just when you think the big problem has been resolved, Daulton reminds you there’s a little more to the tale.

It's such a great book filled with suspense, drama, and love. The plot captures your attention and it's easy to follow. I liked how well blended the romance with the suspense. The characters are amazing. Benjamin is a true alpha male, a protector but he also knew when to step back. Belle was a strong-willed woman who had been hurt too many times. I loved their interactions especially when they fought. My favorite moment was when she revealed her feelings.
I really liked this book and I highly recommend it to those who are fans of this genre. I will rate it with 4 stars.

Belle had a one night stand with Benji and now she's pregnant. With a less than happy history with men, Belle is sure Benji will bolt and leave her to raise their child alone. To her surprise, he stands by her and becomes her champion as, together they make their way through a series of tense, potentially dangerous situations. Someone is stalking Belle. Benji's sister is involved with a drug cartel. The story moves to its climax, a reckoning that is both dangerous and, ultimately rewarding. A few too many red herrings at times, with too many minor characters, and the final encounter with the bad guys goes on too long, but it's a fun, fast read and Belle is a very enjoyable character.

I just finished reading Arresting Benjamin, Book 3 in the Arresting Onyx series, by the very-talented author Amber Daulton. What a great read! Lots of excitement, intriguing characters, a strong, determined female character who doesn’t take sass from anyone, and a fulfilling love story. If you’re looking for a fun read, this book is a must. Well done, Ms. Daulton!

Thoughts: This is a spicy hot story full of action, romance, and more. Benjamin Starwell had a one-night stand with Belle Hamlin. He ran away because his feelings for her scared him. He doesn’t do commitment. That is, not until he finds out she’s pregnant with his baby. Suddenly, he’s the one who has to prove to her that he’s all in and wants to be part of his child’s life. But they both have Issues—and not just with each other.
Belle not only has to cope with her pregnancy, but with a deranged stalker who wants her to quit her music career. After her apartment is trashed, Ben finally gets her to agree to move in with him. But all is not smooth. Ben’s sister, Meghan, Is a drug addict who comes to Ben for help, but her pusher boyfriend has other plans for them.
Between the stalker and the pusher, Ben and Belle have plenty of problems. Plus the two have issues. One thing they don’t have a problem with is sex. There’s a lot going on here. The only problem I had with the story—and it’s a small one—was that I didn’t understand a lot of the character relationships, mostly becausee I haven’t read the first two books in the series. And there were a few threads left dangling that lets me know there are going to be more.
Recommendation: If you’re looking for a good story with lots of conflict, heat, and a HEA ending that satisfies, this one has it all. I do suggest that you read the first two in the series, though, as it will help you understand the character dynamics much better.

Disclaimer: Belle was one of my favourite side characters from previous books in the series, so it's actually good that we get to spend more time with her. She's a feisty, independent woman, who moonlights as a musician in bars during the evenings. I like the start of the book, how Belle and Benji have already hooked up prior to the novel and Belle is pregnant with Benji's child, and although they clearly lust for each other, Belle is unsure about Benji's capabilities to be both a partner and father to their unborn child. And of course, when Benji's sister enters the fray, it complicates matters.
Amber Daulton's strength lies in the characters and their development. Both Benji, Belle and even Meghan come across as real people and their reactions to specific situations that occur are believable. Meghan is a character that comes across as callous and self-destructive, but it is also clear that she's trying to escape her previous life and that generates sympathy for her. At the end of the day, she's a rather tragic figure, and the MC can't seem to bring himself to give her a break and the support she actually needs, treating her more as a burden. To top it off, Belle is also being harassed by a stalker, and this adds to the pressure the MC is under.
I really enjoyed the book. The love scenes are well described and passionate, however, the conclusion is a bit underwhelming and similar to previous books. But as always, Ms Daulton delivers what is promised.

As someone who doesn't typically read romance books, I think this series is shaping up to be something special. As with the first two books, Arresting Benjamin can be read as a standalone novel, but reading the others first will provide a lot of context and enhance the great experience you're sure to have with this story.

I just love all the books in Amber Daulton’s Arresting Onyx series and Arresting Benjamin may be my favorite yet! Belle is a singer in a band. Benjamin owns an auto shop. They were together for only one night and he can’t stop thinking about her… but she’s hiding a secret. I loved so many elements about this book. Belle’s fiery energy was probably my favorite part. She and Ben had good chemistry in every scene, whether they were in a pub, or in the doctor’s office (my fave scene!) The Onyx gang is back causing trouble and Ben’s sister is tied up in it. I liked the way addiction was examined in this one. Can Meghan stay clean and escape the gang’s ties? One of my favorite things about this romantic suspense series is there’s nonstop romance (lots of spice!) and nonstop action with the suspense plot lines, including a stalker plotline for Belle. Loved this from start to finish! 5/5 stars.

As if Belle didn’t have enough on her plate, pregnant from a one night stand and trying to expand her music career, now she had a stalker to deal with. Benjamin Starwell the babies father wanted to be in the picture, but could she trust him after he walked away from her after that hot steamy night. The two will need to get through many obstacles if they can make this work. She hoped he was man enough to try.
I have read the series in order. I find this helpful but not necessary to enjoy this book. The characters are very realistic and are just like any other friends. I enjoy getting a glimpse into the other characters lives from past books. These books keep me on my toes and I find myself trying to speed through the pages to get to the end because I’m so excited to see the outcome. A highly recommended book.

The beginning of Arresting Benjamin sets the romantic element of the story and introduces two strong, sexy and likeable characters in Benji and Belle. The suspense takes a little bit to kick in but once it does, it will keep you flipping pages to the last few chapters that will keep you on the edge of your seat to the finish.
This is a great romance with lots of lovin’ on the page and a good suspenseful plot. I recommend for romantic suspense readers who like a good steamy love story with a side of “what the heck is going on.”

Wow. This is not my usual read, so it was very steamy and sensual from the start. The descriptions and banter are pretty catchy, and it moves right along. Soon, this mechanic/musician duo are also on the run from some unsavory characters and situations, and there is enough action and excitement to make it more than just a sexy romance story. One night stands, criminal stalkers, navigating the complex modern dilemmas of independent women and traditional men, rock and roll, spicy talk and scenes, and a few twists that might surprise you. Most romance readers of spicy stuff will enjoy, along with other casual readers.

Even though Romance isn't my genre, this was a well written story. Belle and Benji were very well written characters, and there was a lot of chemistry between them. Belle is someone who will stand up for herself, whereas Benji is a much more protective person. The plot of the story revolves around Belle being targeted by a sinister stalker who is from Belle's past. The lovers must do everything they can to protect themselves from this individual. What I liked most was the amount of suspense that was throughout the story, which was unusual for a romance novel.

Two thumbs up for this series! This story is about two characters we met in the previous books, Benji & Belle... For me it took a little bit of time to build and pull me in compared to the previous books, but it is still a great read overall. Once things picked up and danger was around them, I was totally focused on seeing what happened next. I love surprise baby romances... add in some family drama, suspense and danger... it was a worthy read! Enjoyed Benji and Belle's tale!

Awesome reading as usual. This is beautiful, Benjamin and Belle hooked up for a night of pleasure, little realising he’d left a treasure behind …he convinced her to take him back and they begin again but there’s lots out to get them and quite frankly it’s not good timing. Will they won’t they put the pieces of their puzzle together and have their happy ever after.
