Ansel Adams: Landscapes of the American West

Rate this book
"Sometimes I do get to places just when God is ready to have somebody click the shutter." Even Ansel Adams' humility could not impede his growing reputation; by the time he died in 1984, the octogenarian Californian was commonly regarded as America's finest landscape photographer. In fact, his pictures have been credited with generating enthusiasm for creating environmental preserves. Most of the 120 wilderness photographs in this large scale pictorial were taken for an abandoned National Parks project and thus will be new even to aficionados of the artist. A major new book by a master photographer.

This book is huge! Like 2 ft tall. But the photos are stunning, so turning the pages and experiencing the beautiful photos of Ansel Adams is pretty exhilarating.

Beautiful, high definition, big format, coffee table book with some of the most iconic Ansel Adams works taken in the American West.
A great way of getting to know or revisiting the talent of this genius of landscape photography, forever connected with the vast American outdoors and National Parks.

OK book. Good photos of the Tetons, Glacier, and Rocky Mountain national parks. A few good shots of Grand Canyon too.

Nothing from Yosemite. Few from the mural project.
