A dead security guard and a missing client are just the beginning…Alexis Parker's temporary relocation to sunny California isn't something she ever saw coming, just like the homicide victims she stumbled upon while conducting a security check. Before she can even call for help, Alex realizes the shooters are still inside the building and she’s the only one around to stop them. But showing up to a gunfight without a gun is foolish, if not downright suicidal, and she made Martin a promise that she’d try to be more careful. So she does her best to slow them down, but the authorities arrive too late. With the shooters on the run, Alex can't help but get caught up in a murder investigation that turns into something much worse than she thought possible. Her client has vanished. His assistant says it’s due to a family emergency, but that doesn’t track.Everyone has secrets. But in this instance, Alex isn’t sure which will prove fatal. All she knows is there's a clock on this case, and if she doesn't figure it out in time, the consequences will be catastrophic.

Still enjoying this series immensely! I just finished book 22 and I'm looking forward to 23! I know the author is starting another series with some of the characters from this series! Would seriously consider checking out out! Of you like JD Robb, you Silk like G.K. Parks!
This is one of a series about a female PI that reminds me that there are some strong women in this world even if they're fictional. Ms. Parks reminds me of J.D. Robb .
This book is full of intrigue and thrills. This is a book you won't want to put down. This book keeps you in suspense until the very end. I highly recommend this book and series.
Another riveting book. I have read all this series as well as the spin offs....I can truly say I have enjoyed them all and have become invested in each character. A must read series for anyone who enjoys this genre!
Alex Parker strikes again with help from Julian Mercer and his gang. Enjoyed every twist and turn in the story and California will never be the same now that Alex is working there. Can't wait to see if she turns Petrocelli.
I know to always not schedule anything when I pick up an Alex Parker book because once I start reading I won’t want to put it down. This book was no exception. Looking forward to the next book.
Great story. Wonderful to see Mercer and crew helping out. So many weird things going on. Would have liked to see more Martin in the book. All G.K. Parks books are great. Can't go wrong reading them.
I have enjoyed this whole series. There was certainly a lot of action going on and I hope she stays in L.A. for awhile. More Martin would be nice as his character is so droll. Love the team arrived again to help. Another good read.
This was an intense, suspenseful, and intriguing story with many unexpected twists, as well as surprise guests. Lol! (Love when Parker calls for Mercer and crew!) It's not a story to be missed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.
At the time of this review, there are 27 books in this series. I am reading them all for the second time. I absolutely love the characters, mysteries, suspense, and plot lines. It is great to see Julian Mercer and his team included in this book. Exciting book. I liked reading about James and Donovan boxing.
I love the Alex Parker books. I've resd every one of them. If you like strong female characters, lots of action, witty banter and the very best stoty lines, these books & this author are for you, can't wait for the next,
Alex lands right in the middle of murder and mayhem in California. There's violence, torture, danger, abduction, dirty money and a mystery to solve in this action-packed book.
