What kind of man, that instead of asking a girl you're interested in out for a date like normal people, decides you know what I'm going to marry her mother and become her stepfather and then I can be her daddy and asks her out for a date...
This man did.
Honestly though, in my opinion, it was a decent ddlg kink book (with a dash of Dom/sub vibe and 'sneaking' kink on the side). If these interest you in any way, you should try it. Also, very steamy.

Okay im surprised how much I liked this book. Okay giving you this now Gunner married Daisy mom only for one reason Daisy. So he's her step father he does nothing with the mom so it's safe. Let's start at the beginning.

Here's what you need to know: age-gap (20 & 42), slight forbidden aspect (he marries her mom for insurance purposes when she is 19, fully intending on being her Daddy from day one), obviously some Daddy kink/play (slight age-play but nothing too aggressive), interesting (but hot) kinks you don't see a lot (somnophilia, stalking, secrecy), and more. The plot is okay and sets you up for book 2 for a side character but this was a very quick read so I'm happy with what we got for it. I wish there was more Daddy talk but that might be a personal preference.

I think that if Ann Denton hadn't been the one writing this book, I wouldn't have read the book to begin with. Nothing about this book screams my name, nothing about this book is my thing. Those kinks are not my kinks. And there is no magic in this book either. However, I know that Ann Denton is an amazing author and that I really love all the books I've read so far. So, I wanted to give this book a chance. I was therefore quite happy that I got the chance to get an arc.
I'm so incredibly glad that I read this book, even though I initially thought this wouldn't be my thing. Because maybe none of these kinks are my kinks usually and maybe contemporary isn't my favorite genre, but this book was so incredibly well written and all the elements of the plot were so incredibly well implemented that I got more and more invested and that I really started to care about the characters and their happily ever after. I even enjoyed the overload of sex scenes.
And that's mostly because Denton constantly focusses on the emotions, on the feelings, on the wants and needs of these characters. On the outside it may seem as if this relationship is totally messed up, but when spending a lot of time in the heads of these characters you notice that those people absolutely know what they're doing, what they need and want and what the right time is to do things. There is one specific moment where it's quite clear that he keeps on checking what she truly needs.
And even though this book is mostly focussed on the sex, on the characters exploring each other's wishes and needs and fantasies, there are some deeper layers hidden here and there. Enough to give me the idea that I knew these characters and what life had looked like for them. Even for the side characters, because the finale of the book already got me very excited about Rose's story! Of course, I have some guesses and I can't wait to discover if I'm right!

I'm a bit conflicted about this one. Lately, I've been pretty daring and going out of my "normal" tropes. I don't normally go for the dd/lg themes, so it was interesting to read something very new to me. It could be something that I wouldn't mind trying again
First off, I loooove Ann Denton. Her writing is always phenomenal and this was no exception! This was pretty steamy and there were times where I had to stop and regain my composure, because the scenes were literally setting me up in flames. The Dom/Sub relationship was perfectly done. I literally swooned over everytime Gunner comforted Daisy and THE AFTERCARE, giiiirrrrl!!!! Get you someone who takes care of you the way Gunner does. I have to admit, in the beginning, Gunnar weirded me out a little and did cringe a little throughout the story. However, everything fell into place and Daisy and Gunner really complimented each other. Like I said, this was a new trope for me. Also, The ending did fall a little short for me. It felt like there's more to be told and it just ended abruptly. Although, this is a standalone and the next one is Rose's story, I hope we get some sort of glimpse into more of their happy ending. Overall, I really enjoyed this and really wanting to read the next book.

Gunner is a method actor! Seriously, you’ve gotta admire his commitment to playing the long game.
This book wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but other than the annoying best friend of our FMC, zero explanation of what the stepfather and mother’s actual relationship consisted of, and the rather abrupt ending, it was a decent story for a dd/lg trope.

My, what a hot gem of a book!
By now it’s been established that Ann Denton is one of my favorite authors. I simply love the way she writes her characters and the intimate moments between them. Chaining Daisy isn’t any different. Despite being a short book, the characters and their chemistry jumps off the page!
This is my first venture into a taboo romance. Gunnar and Daisy are instantly attracted to one another from the first time they meet, but he winds up marrying her mother, thus shoving their attraction into forbidden territory. However, the fact that his marriage to Daisy’s mom wasn’t romantic (won’t explain the how because you have to read this!) made it feel less taboo. The twist that they met before? I really liked it!
The smexy times were amazing, and I had no doubt they would be. There is a bit of a “daddy” kink, which I’m usually not a fan of but somehow the author made it work here. I’m starting to realize that Ann Denton can do no wrong for me. Her books have made me try reading things and realizing I really enjoy them when they’re written well and I love the characters! But returning to the book, I would have liked to see more deeper moments between Gunnar and Daisy. Those were my favorite part of the book, but the spice (which was amazing) took priority over those. I also would have liked to see more of Daisy’s friends, since the next book is going to be about one of them!

CHAINING DAISY is the demonstration that it doesn’t matter what genre Ann Denton is writing. If you pick up one of her books, you’re bound for a smexy good time!
I inhaled Chaining Daisy in exactly two sittings. While this is a taboo romance between a stepfather and his stepdaughter with a twenty-year age gap, I was actually really happy with the author’s twist on the taboo. That between Gunnar and Daisy is an instant attraction ever since their first meeting, and the reason he marries her mother is completely unrelated to anything romantic, which—for me, at least—made it all a little less…forbidden.
The chemistry between Gunnar and Daisy was off the charts! A longer book would have helped strengthen the idea of the repressed angst that exists between them, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how much relationship and character development the author was able to fit into such a short book. Don’t be fooled, you still need to work a little to get to the smexy parts, but OMG the wait is worth it! Very much enjoyed the hot scenes, but I also really enjoyed the glimpses of their ordinary interactions outside of the bedroom.
Definitely recommend to all fans of spicy contemporary books who don’t mind a little taboo.

This is the most devourable book I have read in a long time! I gulped it down in one bite and once again I was totally captivated by Ann Denton's super compelling writing style.
I must admit, I've never read taboo age gap romance and have always avoided the daddy kink trope--but I found this love story between Daisy and Gunnar to be extremely endearing and searingly sexy. It is as touching as it is engrossing, as two lonely people finally admit they're meant to be together, despite any judgement from the world.
At just over 200 pages, this was a perfectly paced and plotted little palette cleanser and I'm SO excited to see what's next for the Wild Flowers. Rose's story intrigues me SO MUCH!!

It's usually hit or miss for me with 'Daddy' books, there are some I love and then some that make me cringe, but Chaining Daisy definitely was the last one for me. I actually enjoyed this one. Gunnar works at the hospital, and he has specific kinks. He comes across Daisy, who is there for her mother. It starts a strange relationship between the two, especially when he marries her mother and becomes her stepfather. There is no love between Gunnar and Daisy's mother, which for me made it feel a lot less taboo than some stepdaddy stories.
It's a shorter story, which makes it an easy read and I managed to finish it in just one sitting. If you like taboo, and steamy stories then this is definitely one for you.

I enjoy dark and taboo romance. While this isn't necessarily dark, it is very taboo! I feel like this book rides the fine line between kink and abuse, so if you have any triggers this wouldn't be the book for you. There were some moments between the main characters that felt off compared to other books I've read with similar themes, and I would consider them red flags of an abusive situation regardless of the dynamic between the partners, which kind of killed the romance vibe for me. Overall if you enjoy stalker daddy brat books you may like this one. If you enjoyed the darker undertones of the Feral Princess books and are looking for more, this isn't that - this is pushing your taboo limits in a different way.

This is my first read from the author, and it definitely won't be my last! I was looking for a great Daddy Dom book, and this totally satisfied that need.
Gunnar, a surgeon, meets Daisy in the hospital one morning and their attraction to eachother is instantaneous. Gunnar does some questionable things, which Daisy does find out about. But these two together, it's one incredibly hot read.

July 7, 2022This had it all to be something I would have loved! I've read similar books to this where I've truly loved the story and the characters. Unfortunately, this was incredibly stereotypical to the kinks involved and extremely cringy. Even the spicy scenes had me rolling my eyes and wanting them to be over. Now, you all know I'm for spice 24/7, but this just wasn't done well at all.

This was one hot quick read!
If you love age Gap. Dom/sub relationships. And loads of kink this is the book for you!
The chemistry is there from the very beginning and once they come together it is explosive. I definitely discovered a whole new list of kinks from this book! 🤣
Ann Denton does a great job with this Dom/sub relationship. It's not like most I've read, and I really enjoyed it.
