Duty is all he knows.

Logan Keller spent his military career saving lives, but none of that prepared him for raising his out-of-control teenage niece. He’s desperate to get through to her. A charity designed for teens seems like the answer, but when Logan arrives to speak to the director, he interrupts an attack on the woman’s life.

Danger surrounds her.

Willow Cassidy has dedicated her life to helping teens in crisis. When she’s assaulted in the parking lot of her charity, Willow fears the lime-light created by her uncle’s state senate run is to blame. And the threat isn’t over. A second attack proves someone is determined to kill her.

A tenuous plan.

Logan can’t leave Willow unprotected. Pretending to be her boyfriend is easy—keeping his growing attraction hidden is much harder. Every move designed to keep her safe ramps up the threat against her. Will Logan’s covert mission save Willow’s life or will it be a deadly failure?

This was an interesting mystery and a good addition to the series. I didn't love it as much as I felt I might have in the past, there were just a few things that I'd rather not have been mentioned and didn't even really add to the story. Things that others might not notice or care about, but still didn't sit right and took away from the reading experience at times.

On was the two mentions of Halloween, then a couple mentions of country music, and one of the teens was a well known "Christian rock" musician. I know it seems silly but none of these details were necessary, and the story would have been just as strong without the distinctions, just the mention that she was a talented musician and that they listened to music still gets the point across here. Halloween is a whole other thing, but yet not really. They all come from the same place in the end...oh well. I do appreciate that she did choose to go vague and avoid naming any actual names or bands, that's a point in it's favor.

So, overall I almost didn't include these issues in my review, but in order to be honest with my actual thoughts I would have rather it not mention or include the at all, but I find myself very appreciative that at least it was kept vauge and handled the way Ms. Lynn Shannon choose to handle them here.

I did end up liking Logan in this one, and enjoyed meeting his niece, Mia. Willow was also a wonderful addition to his growing family, and I loved her kindness and loving nature as she got to know them both. The mystery was interesting and had some surprise twists of it's own, and reading this has me excited to read the final book in the series!

I nibbled into a chapter one night, then devoured the rest in a giant bite the next day. The author's style is easy to read, the plotting moved at lightening speed, and the characters were fun to follow. Believable love story--the liked the way her characters were direct and straightforward with their feelings without all the endless second guessing. Enjoyed this story very much and looking forward to the next installment.

Another great book to the series! This one brings Logan and Willow's story. The author does a great job developing the story with all the action in this suspenseful romance. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific read. Loved and recommend this book.

Concern for his troubled niece Mia sends Logan Keller to a charity run by Willow Cassidy. Logan hopes Willow’s youth center, developed to help teens in crisis, will be the answer to his prayers. When he arrives at the parking lot, however, he stumbles upon an assault in progress and proceeds to rescue the woman he hoped would help him.

With Willow’s uncle in a high-stakes political race and her life in jeopardy, they devise a plan to have Logan provide subtle protection by pretending to be her new boyfriend. But when the pretense begins to blossom into reality and Willow’s enemy grows bolder, will Logan be able to fulfill his commitment to keep Willow safe?

A couple twists and turns in the mystery and a satisfying ending kept me reading.

As with most books in the Christian Suspense Romance genre, the story is a bit formulaic. But like a good Hallmark romance movie, the story was a light, fun ride. Lynn Shannon does a good job of driving the plot forward through action without sacrificing the underlying romance. I enjoyed Covert Mission and recommend it for anyone looking for clean, contemporary romance suspense with Christian themes.

Logan needs Willow's help and it turns out she needs his as well, although she doesn't see it that way to begin with.
Timing is everything for Logan and Willow not just about them meeting, but also the close calls to Willow's life that keep escalating and not knowing who is behind it and when they will strike next. I really liked how everyone had a vulnerability in different ways, but also passion and determination like Willow with her charity that she runs and Logan with not only keeping Willow safe but trying to be the Uncle Mia needs. There are some good twists and surprises that unfold as the danger gets closer to Willow and Logan and his team track down who is behind everything.

Another book finished in the series. I have really enjoyed this series learning of each guy's story of saving the girl. Logan lost his brother and wife to an accident and now is responsible to raise his 15-year-old niece. Willow is the Director of a Youth Center. She lost her parents in a plane crash when she was 13 so she understands what Mia is going through. Logan has the opportunity to save Willow's life from an attack. He and his friends then continue to protect her and try to find out who is trying to attack her and kill her.

The suspense is even and smooth. I appreciate how it continually pulls you back into the story again and again until the resolution at the end. Good writing -- I would recommend this author.

Lynn Shannon has written a great story with plenty of suspense and danger. Logan has retired from the military to care for his teenage, orphaned niece. When he gets to his last nerve, he turns to a charity that helps teenage girls. What he didn't expect was to stop the abduction of Willow, the woman he was to meet. He will keep her safe and she can help his niece since she dealt with the same situation. The characters will keep you glued to the story until the end. There is plenty of action to hold your interest.

First book I've read in this series and this can be a standalone. I like there's plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, who done it and a HEA. Logan had to step up for his neice when her parents (his brother and sister-in-inlaw were killed in a vehicle accident. He's single and an Air Force veteran, so he's out of his element. Willow's parents were killed at a young age and her uncle raised her. Now he's running for office and she's in danger. An excellent read.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a fantastic story. Willow runs Blessed Hearts Youth Center and her uncle is running for state senator. He talks to her about threats against their family and wants her to have bodyguards. She doesn't want one until she is leaving work and is attacked. Logan is looking for assistance with the niece he is raising, that is getting in to trouble. He arrives just in time to save Willow. A great romance and suspense story.

I enjoyed the different layers to this story, the twists, turns, family, friends, the pain and the happiness. I liked Willow and Logan and felt a connection to them, and I believed in their connection too. I liked seeing their relationship develop, the way they supported and trusted each other from the start and how brave they were to see what was happening between them and to not shy away from it. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Fantastic!

Lynn Shannon has done it again with Covert Mission! Her combination of suspense, clean romance, and faith, as well as an outstanding storyline, made for a fantastic book! Willow is compassionate, sweet, and easy to root for, while Logan is steadfast, loyal, and hunky. I enjoyed watching as they had each other's backs while they fell in love. And those kisses? Top notch. I can't wait for the next book in the series where the last bachelor of their group finds his match!

Willow runs a youth center. Logan is raising his neice, who is becoming difficult so he goes to the youth center to see if Willow can offer him guidance. Upon arrival he stops a threat on her life. He poses as her boyfriend to keep her safe. Will he be able to protect her and help his neice? New to me author and series. I will be reading more of her books and going back to read the rest in the series. This book can be read as a standalone. Loved the Christian romantic suspense. Fantastic read.

A great read:
I really enjoyed this book. There was plenty of drama and suspense to keep the story moving but also heartfelt emotional times too. I liked the faith aspects although this was more of in the background than being a predominant feature.
I thought Logan and Willow made a great couple and I felt invested in their journey to a HEA. Although part of a series and past characters make an appearance, this can nevertheless be read as a standalone.

Suspense & Romance!

Logan is at the right place at the right time to come to the rescue of Willow. Who wants her dead & why? Is it someone seeking family revenge? Someone wanting to derail her Uncle’s political ambitions? Could it possibly be her Uncle’s wife? Then Willow’s ex shows up on the scene…could Mike have anything to do with it? Does Logan want to become involved with Willow? What about taking care of his teen niece, Mia? So many questions - lots of suspense & romance in the mix - another great read by Lynn Shannon!

I enjoyed this story of Logan and Willow. Someone is targeting Willow, and Logan rescues Willow from her attacker.
Logan is doing his best as the guardian of his 15 year old niece Mia who is acting out after her parents died in a sudden accident. I enjoyed how Willow helped Mia as Willow lost her parents when she was a teen.
The story plot was wonderful and had me guessing as who was behind the attacks on Willow. Did it have to do with her uncle who was running for state senator of something else? Great story.

Covert Mission

Logan's niece, Mia is having a hard time since her parents died in a plane crash. Logan has custody and is grieving also and is at a loss to help her. It's late but he stops by Blessed Heart for help and saves the owner/director Willow from a vicious attack. The guys are back in protective mode as they protect Willow and catch the men that are threatening and attacking her. Of course Logan and Willow fall in love and will be forming a family with Mia. Great story.

I love this series of books; they have suspense and romance but are not graphic about it. Logan is the guardian for his niece that is trying to deal with losing both of her parents. At his wits end he goes to see Willow, however, what he finds is her being kidnapped. As time goes on her life is put at greater risk until she is kidnapped, Logan will stop and nothing to save her.

This is the fifth book I've read written by Lynn Shannon; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fifth book in the Triumph Over Adversity Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Willow & Logan; she runs the local charity that helps teens in crisis. After someone attacks her the second time she’s know she needs protection. He pretends to be her boyfriend so he can protect her.

Logan, Mia, Willow and the list goes on

Logan was hired as a body guard for Willow. Willow’s Uncle was a candidate in a senate race and had become a nasty race. In comes Logan as her body guard. Logan’s niece Mia is an angry teen that has turned her back on those that love her. Don’t put the book down, because you will have to pick it back up because you can’t wait to see what will happen next. Enjoy.

Can happiness come in the midst of trouble

Willow is being threatened and needs undercover protection, Logan stumbles onto her and he totally fits the bill. Somewhere along the way, they find emotions that neither of them were expecting. Then that is how the author writes, you find the expected in the unexpected. She has a creative mind that takes the obvious and hides it in the unexpecting.

Clichéd

I have ranted about, er reviewed, several of this author's books. She has so much potential but cliches and some basic editing errors make it so hard. She does a good job of picking villains. But statements like this, "“I was a Navy SEAL, Mike. I can shoot the wings off a fly at seven hundred yards.", really? No. No he can't nor can any SEAL. Hyperbole and over dramatization abound.

Kept Me Guessing

I love Lynn Shannon's suspense romances because they keep me guessing. The only annoying thing about the last couple or so books I've read by her was that there were a few places where the wrong word was used. It doesn't ruin the story, thankfully. I highly recommend this book and series if you enjoy inspirational suspense romance.

Nice series. Good thing the next one isn’t out yet; I’m a little tired of the theme of super-hot ex-military guys who each end up protecting women whose lives are in danger and fall in love almost immediately. But they’re nice for a break between murder mysteries, and I appreciate that they are clean and not too religiously pushy for Christian romance. And the action—definitely helps.

Her ex shows up and the next she knows she is getting text messages and threatening messages with the help of a friend and his partners they solve the problem. This is my review and mine alone. ANOTHER GREAR BOOK BY LYNN SHANNON!

Book 5 of the Triumph Over Adversity series is every bit as good at 1-4. I’m excited to start book 6. These books have been wonderful quick reads. Once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down. If you enjoy clean Christian romance, suspense and lovable characters this is the series for you!
