E be’, Stillwater ha tutto.

Awww look at this beautiful man on the cover. I’m usually not one to get off on long hair (unless its tied up in a sexy man-bun) but this guy… *phew

Anyway… this was nice. A hot & sweet little small-town story.

“Remember what I said last night?” he asks…
“Harder? Faster?” I joke.

These two single dads where cute, I enjoyed their banter and was amused quite often.

And I looooved the relationship Harrison had with his ex-wife and mother of their daughter.

“So you’re not upset that I’m with Fletcher?”
“Hell no. He’s great. And you’re not moving to Boston?”
“Not in my plans. Have you seen Fletcher’s ass? Why would I move away from that?”
“Good point, well made,” she says and gives me a tight hug.

But other than that I was also annoyed quite a lot. All in all there was too much going on besides the push and pull between Fletcher and Harrison. At least for my liking.

✘ Trouble for Harrison at his work place
✘ Trouble for Fletcher with his ex
✘ and Trouble for them altogether with the school fair

At some point I did not care and was not overly invested in the story anymore. Time will tell if I will continue with the series.

This was a great read.
From a kind of sweet, uncomplicated, (maybe a bit), the story turns into a more emotional one.

Two dads, clashing time after time, there’s a strong attraction but they annoy each other hard.
Until they have to work together and their seven years old kids are good friends.

Harrison Davis is a moody, grumpy attorney, he has a daughter of seven who lives alternating with him and his ex Stella. He’s new in Stillwater, now closer to his daughter and ex.

Fletcher is an artist, a sunshine, and a single dad. His ex, who doesn’t want to miss anything out of life, flies around the world.

We can follow the two men, getting closer, precious to watch this romance. So many feelings in the air.
Some troubles are coming their way, thank goodness it ends well.

This is a beautiful written emotional story, the main characters are well developed, they felt honest, real, sensible, and realistic. There is some variation of side characters, some I loved, some I had negative feelings for, and some I want to know more about. The nosy, meddling citizens were great.
The struggle coming sweet Fletcher’s way was really hard to watch, I wanted to scream, I wanted to shake some sense in someone. Harrison was a rock, thank you very much!
Overall a wonderfully written story, entertaining and emotional with the best characters!

It's an okay story, but I have no understanding, at all, of the MCs motivations for acting as they did. They went from being total assholes to each other to lust-ridden teens in a millisecond. And Fletcher, argh! He was annoying as hell. I really like them both as dads, though. I just couldn't see the romance.

And I'm not too fond of the sad voice John Solo uses when he reads the chapters' titles. WHY??? I don't get it *throws arms in air*

But if you are looking for a story with cute kids and lots of sex I'm pretty sure you'll like this. Just not my thing.

Ever since I read the blurb for Antagonist by Ana Ashley , I knew it was my kind of book, and it’s now available on audio!

Harrison and Fletcher meet at a bachelor auction and think they’ll never see each other again.

Of course, that’s not how it goes, or it would be a very short book. Harrison moves to Stillwater with his daughter and ex-wife and surprise surprise, that’s where Fletcher lives with his son.

I fell in love with Fletcher from the very beginning, he’s a sweetheart and deserves the world. I’m a sucker for single dad romances and the kids add a fun dimension to the book.

I haven’t listened to a book narrated by John Solo before, but I really liked his performance and it for sure enhances my reading experience.

In short, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves single dads and sassy kids!

I can’t wait for book two, where I have the sneaking suspicion that our favorite teacher will get his HEA.

Thank you to GRR and Ana Ashley for providing me with an advance listening copy in exchange for an honest review.

Even though this is a spin-off of the Chester Falls series, you will not be lost if you start with this one. I do recommend reading that series as it is fun & the characters are very lovable. We have a sweet story of Harrison who has moved to Stillwater to be closer to his daughter & his ex, who was not the evil ex. Fletcher is an artist who lives in Stillwater with his daughter. His ex is too busy with her life to care for their son. Things are not 100% smooth as there are a couple of outside forces throwing wrenches into their HEA. But in the end, they do find it. I really enjoyed these two & the kids were so adorable. I'm looking forward to Ellis & Milo's story.

I rec'd an ARC from Gay Romance Reviews in exchange for an honest review.

Antagonist is the first book in the Dads of Stillwater series by Ana Ashley.

Harrison first meets Fletcher at a bachelor auction after Fletcher buys him. What starts as a rocky meeting ends when Harrison angrily leaves. Harrison leaves a busy city to move to the small town of Stillwater with his ex-wife and daughter. He meets Fletcher once again at his daughter's school. Harrison doesn’t want Fletcher but quickly falls for him. Fletcher is also a single divorced dad, and they find they have things in common.

I liked Harrison. He was so sweet and was there for his ex-wife, daughter, and anyone who seemed to need him. His coworkers and even the parents at his daughter's school very quickly liked him. Fletcher is also a nice guy. This is a dual point of view, but I wish we would have seen more of Fletcher working. We know he is an artist, but that’s pretty much it.

I had a hard time getting into this book, but midway through, I was hooked. It was a very nice read, and it made me excited to read more of this series, but it also feels like we are missing a whole other series of stories with all the side characters in committed relationships, and they know everyone.

I struggled with this one a bit. We meet Harrison and Fletcher in the previous Dads of Stillwater book, Newcomer, and I was excited to get their story here. The tension between Fletcher and Harrison is DELICIOUS, but there are several moments in the book where they seem to be starting to get along better and then all of a sudden one of them takes something completely out of context or just randomly starts deciding the other is awful again, but there's no REASON for it so it was weird and awkward and just pulled me out of the story.

I did love that Harrison and Fletcher are both single dads, and their kids also start out in a sort of love/hate relationship. The kids are really the cherry on top of this whole series, they're ADORABLE, and I say that as someone who doesn't usually like kids in my romances. (I'm a mom of a 6 and an 8 year old, I live these plotlines every day already, haha.) I actually think I like Fletcher better as a side character in the other books in the series than as a lead, for some reason.

Sweet and steamy single-dad, small town romance where you can't help but fall in love with the couples and also the side characters (well, the ones who don't suck, anyway!)

This is the second book in the Dads of Stillwater series and can be read as a standalone.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

Antagonist is the first book in a new series by a new-to-me author, and I was intrigued by the blurb enough to pick it up. However, I finished this book with definite mixed feelings about the story and the narrative style as a whole. While some parts worked for me, others didn’t and while I liked it, I didn’t love it.

This story is told in alternative first person present POVs. While the POVs weren’t wholly distinguishable from each other, for the most part, this worked well. It really gives the reader an in depth look into the MCs’ thought process, and for me, helped me to like Fletcher more. Parts of Fletcher’s personality were irritating to me personally, and I didn’t find them as amusing as I believe the author intended. His snark and nicknames didn’t work for me, and there were times I found him rather annoying. That being said, having chapters from his POV went a long way to endearing him to me. After his first few chapters, I liked him a lot better than I did at the start.

Fletcher and Harrison meet when Harrison is forced to enter a Bachelor's Auction by his friend and Fletcher bids on Harrison. Harrison is about to move to Stillwater, so he gets out of going out with Fletcher. Surprise, surprise, though, when Harrison discovers Fletcher is the dad of Harrison's daughter's new friend at her new school, and not only that but Fletcher and he are going to have to organize the school's fair if they don't kill each other first.

Okay, so it's fair to say that this book has a very apt title. Harrison is very antagonistical against Fletcher, annoyingly so, at least at first. Fletcher is more the flirty, bubbly type, although he's going through some things that show that he has hidden depths. Harrison and Fletcher have great chemistry and when they finally get on the same page, they were really hot together!

Megan and George, Harrison and Fletcher's kids, were adorbs and Stella, Harrison's ex and Megan's mom, was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Fletcher's ex, she deserved to be thrown off a cliff.

Overall, this was a very entertaining small-town, enemies to lovers romance, and I can't wait to see what else Ms. Ashley has in store for us in this series.

I love small town series’, where everyone knows each other and your business, and Ana does a really great job at creating these worlds. Stillwater is a spin-off of her much loved Chester Falls series, and it’s off to a great start.

Fletcher and Harrison's first meeting goes off the rail, but who cares, they won’t see each other again…until they are forced back together when Harrison moves to Stillwater where Fletcher lives and they discover their children are in the same class. Their chemistry is fire but they also drive each other nuts. But isn’t that half the fun!!

They are both really likable characters, and their children are adorable. With some cameos from Chester Falls, an array of townfolks, ex-wives, and a pet snake you’ll find yourself really enjoying this read. It’s an engaging story with a little angst that is nicely balanced with an interesting plot and the progression to their HEA.

Really enjoyed this one. Small town reads are my favorite. The style of writing was fluid and in general the characters were dynamic. There were some cliche moments and some characters were a bit convoluted like the character Fran. I found her logic and her reasoning to be flawed. I also didn’t like how Fletcher made himself smaller when it came to her. Both him and Harrison had moments of brash thinking and that was a bit annoying. However, in the end everything worked out. There’s a lot of potential for other stories within this series especially with the cast of characters. Definitely keeping this series on my radar.

Two single dads, with precocious young kids, have a love/hate relationship. Harrison and Fletcher rubbed each other the wrong way the first night they meet. You can see the chemistry and attraction between these two the moment they see each other. They both have issues that they have to deal with especially Fletcher, but with the help of friends and family, they overcome their problems. The book is romantic, with some angst, funny, sweet, and the kids just stole the show. I really like the fact that the two had each other's back no matter what they were dealing with. I enjoyed this book and it had my attention from start to finish.

Two hot single dad, Two precious little babies and one amazing ex-wife, one annoying ex-wife, a pet snake, some amazing side characters was enough to make me fall in Love with this book..😍

I love Fletcher and Harrison 's Love/Hate relationship. The slow friendship and the bonding was awesome. Author Ana did an amazing job writing this book.. ❤️

Some of the things happen in this book that should have been handled more quickly but overall the book was nice.

Looking forward to read more books from Ana Ashley in future ☺️😉

3.5 stars. So this was a typical Ana Ashley novel. So sweet, very good, but just missing something. It might be because English is her second language, it most likely is, but she creates heart-warming stories and I will keep reading them! These main characters were likable, but not when they would interact with each other. Holy moly, these are grown men? It was frustrating every.single.time they spoke: I liked that Stella and Harrison were still close. Not a lot of the conflicts made sense, and seemed far-fetched. A lot was a reach but it was a nice enough story and fun to read. And kept me engaged at one point!

Fletcher & Harrison - first meeting has sparks but doesn't go so well but then small towns - they keep meeting again, getting thrown together. The relationship grows as you would imagine, more sparks, antagonising each other ( perfect title)

the kids and the side characters make this book even better.

A great start to a new spin off from Chester Falls by Ana.

This was fine. It was good but honestly sometimes I got extremely confused by what was going on. Idk if it was the way things were written or if there were some editing mistakes but whatever. Not a bad read but I definitely wasn’t in a rush to finish it or go to the next in the series and I probs won’t.

2/5 on spice. 1/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. Exs suck.

They are both single dads and have very different lives while one just expects a night under the sheets. He managed to stay out of the bedroom and he never expected to see them again. He moves to their town where their sons are in the same class but are fighting. Will these dads stop them fighting? Will they become a couple? See just how these dads get on

I think it’s funny how these two men just seem to rub each other the wrong way to start out. Both Fletcher and Harrison have things to work out in their own lives. There are some dramatic moments but alls well that ends well. I listened to the audio which was easy to listen too.

It was ok. I liked Fletcher and Harrison but man, they couldn't catch a break. It was like things were going on left and right. It was too much.

I agree with one review I read. There was too much going on. There were also a lot of people introduced. Usually that doesn't bother me but there was a lot to keep track of.

Aside from that, I think I will continue on the series. I am curious about Ellis and Milo. :)
