She’s his best friend’s sister.
He’s going to keep her anyway.
Getting caught in bed with his friend’s sister wasn’t the welcome Ben had planned when joining the roster of the San Francisco Gold.
Neither was the black eye he sported for several weeks afterward.
Jordyn was a newly divorced, single mom of two boys, and not looking for love, but Ben wasn’t easily scared off.
Not when her brother threatened dismemberment.
Nor when Jordyn told him she was swearing off men and relationships forever.
Because she was his forever…
And he’d fight tooth and nail to keep her.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Trope: teammate's sister
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

If you're looking for an über sweet, angsty read Covered has it covered. Jordyn is trying to get her life together for herself and her boys, but it can be oh so hard when the rug has been pulled out from under you. From the moment Ben sees Jordyn she pulls at his heartstrings. He's just going to need to get past her big brother and all the familial baggage he carries.

Elise Faber always seems to come through with her nice guy heroes and Covered is certainly no exception. Great characters you can't help but root for with problems that make them super relatable. Sweet, almost to the point of cavities, it's perfect if that's what you're in the mood for. Loved all the nuggets for the next book in the series - can't wait!

5 Star review of Covered (Gold Hockey #16) by Elise Faber
I haven't read all the books in the Gold Hockey series, but the ones I have read I really enjoyed. The last thing that Ben expected when he joined the Dan Francisco Gold was to fall for a fellow teammates sister.
These two could not be more different and yet they work well as a couple. Jordyn is recently divorced and the last thing she is looking for is a relationship, especially with her brothers teammate. Even sporting a black eye tanks to her brother does not dissuade Ben. He knows he has found “the one”, now all he has to do is convince Jordyn.
There were moments where I was moved to tears, moments where I laughed out loud and moments where I swooned. I admired Ben’s determination to prove to Jordyn that he was there for her and that he was not leaving and their journey was entertaining.
He’s my kind of book boyfriend.

Once again I was rooted to my bed and would not leave it until I read the word THE END.

I'm not sure I have enough words to describe how much I loved Ben and Jordyn. She is coming out of a failed marriage, trying just to keep her head above water for her son's. She has a lot of help in the form of her brother, but Ben knows a thing or two what It feels like to have a single mom. He is determined to make her life easier. Now here's where the magic happens. I absolutely loved the way these two interacted. From seeing that there is something more to them, to her confessing that it's too soon for her, and him patiently waiting. I don't even get me started on the boys and how much they loved Ben, and he them.

Elise Faber knows how to write real and honest books. This one too pull all my heartstrings and made me want to wrap my arms around this little family and never let go.

Covered, book nine in the Gold Hockey series is my favorite story in this series. It is a fantastic story with an emotional storyline filled with heartfelt moments and characters that are easy to love. It is also a story of healing and finding love that is worthy of the investment of time and effort needed to make it work.
Jordyn is now a single mom to her two boys, Marcus and Sam, after her husband cheated on her and isn’t interested in being in their lives anymore. So, she moved herself and her boys to live near her brother. Now she finds herself living off the generosity of her brother and his wife all in a new town and since the Gold Hockey team is a big family they all step in to help her out especially Ben who can’t seem to stay away from Jordyn and her boys.
Ben has a heart of gold and easily falls for Jordyn, embraces her strength and brings her back to herself. She returns the support and finds herself opening her heart and giving him the support he needs to help him heal from his past.
I loved this story so much as Ben and Jordyn finally found their perfect someone to give them the love and support they deserved.

After being betrayed by her husband and her best friend all that Jordyn wants is a fresh start and where better to get the support she needs from her brother and the San Francisco Gold. A large part of that support comes from Ben, one of the members of the team, but she isn’t certain she is ready for a relationship until he shows her that he is the man that she and her sons need in her life

Ben still bears the emotional scars of his past and has had to fight for everything that he has achieved. This opportunity with the Gold is a dream come true and he doesn’t want to jeopardize it but denying his feelings for Jordyn and her sons is not possible.

All the circumstances are very different both Jordyn and Ben have difficult pasts that they help each other from. The chemistry between them is intense but it is the way they support each other that makes the relationship that they have with each other and her sons so special.

Healing love!

Ben hadn't had a great childhood and his past was seeped in despair and hurt. When his team mate Josh asked him to help with helping his sister Jordyn, move into her house he didn't expect to find the one thing he needed in his life - the family he needed. Jordyn had moved close to her brother after her marriage broke down and she wanted family around to help her heal and look after her boys. What she didn't expect was Ben and the way he healed her! Together they became what the other needed. When the past and the present collide, will they find a way to move forward or will the hurt drag them apart? This was a story of healing and growth but the chemistry between the characters was epic! I can't wait for Elise next book!

COVERED is the seventh book in the Gold Hockey Season Two series but you can read it as a standalone. Jess and Josh from book six do feature here as supporting characters, but you don't need to have read their story.

Jordyn's world exploded when she caught her husband and best friend together. She packed up her sons and their lives and moved to be near her brother. Ben can see she is hurting, but also sees the strength inside, the strength she doesn't feel. With his confidence in her, Jordyn is able to find her feet. The connection works both ways, and she is able to help him when his family issues get too big for him to contain.

This was a brilliant read! Ben and Jordyn know what they want and go for it. No messing around, no unnecessary angst, just feelings and the ability to show them in small ways. That's what got me about this book. There are no big flashy 'look at how good I am' moments. Just kind, caring, simple, and oh-so-effective times that burrow under your skin and make you yearn!

I read this book in one sitting as I simply couldn't put it down. I loved Ben and Jordyn's story, not forgetting Sammy and Marcus. The pacing is perfect, the story flowing without any hitches or jerks. Well, maybe Daniel is a jerk, but he's supposed to be!

This was a great addition to the series, the best one so far in my opinion. Now, I just need to wait for Will and Lily. Absolutely recommended by me.

Another great book in the Gold Hockey series. This book is Ben and Jordyn's story. It's a great love story with hardships on both sides but more so on the MMC's side. Ben knew the moment he had Jordyn's body against his that she was it for him. He knew that he'd do anything to make not only her but her two little boys happy. Jordyn took a little bit but she's also coming out of a divorce where her ex made her feel little, not important. Jordyn is starting over, with the help of her brother Josh and his better half Jess. She's feeling inadequate and like nothing she has is hers. She eventually gets over that but it's gonna take her a little bit. Ben comes barreling into her life, unexpectedly. He's there whenever she needs him and he makes her feel alive again. Ben has his own ghosts that Jordyn is there to help him through.

I really enjoyed these two. It wasn't a give all get nothing back relationship. This was an equal loving relationship that was wonderful to watch develop. There was nothing standing in their way (not even an over protective older brother) other than inner thoughts. Ben had so much guilt running through him and I hated that. He never deserved the burdens that both his sister and his mom forced on him. Nor did he deserve the guilt. I was glad to see his sister finally realized that... though the breaking point wasn't fun to read about. His mom on the other time. I wanted to smack her. She should have known better and put that guilt on herself not her child. I loved Jordyn. She was a great mom and did her best to make her boys happy. They deserved nothing but the best. Those boys were adorable even with all of their crazy energy.

I find that every Gold member I read about gets better and better. Some day we won't have anymore to read about and I'll be sad but I'll enjoy the stories we get until then.

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*

I freaking love the Gold Hockey series. Just about every single book has held my attention, and had me falling for the characters. This cast is like family now. A fictional family, but a family none the less.

Covered was no different. The moment we met Jordyn in Cap I knew I was going to need her story. Jordyn is going through the motions after her marriage has ended. Her life has been upended, and she's just trying to find a safe place for her and her sons to land. Thankfully Josh and Jess have provided just that. With Josh playing for the Gold, he also is bringing an extended family into her life. One of those new acquaintances is Ben. This man's life hasn't been easy, and he sees Jordyn. He sees her grief, her pain, her heartache, but he also sees her power, her passion, and her strength. There is something about her that draws him in.

Covered had me swooning, it had me laughing, it sent so many different emotions coursing through my body. I could not get enough. From the moment I started reading Jordyn and Ben's story, I didn't want to put it down. I fell into their world, and I felt like a fly on the wall as I witnessed everything. I watched as Jordyn transformed right before our eyes, and I also saw the bond that her boys were building with Ben. Those little boys were also finding their footing. It was glorious to see.

Of course there had to be drama. I love when that pops up in romance stories. We had the conflict between Josh and Ben. We had the ex husband showing his face, and trying to insert himself where he doesn't belong. Then there was the emotional scenes with Ben's family. Those scenes had me holding my breath, and shedding a few tears. All of these conflict scenes just added that little extra to the book that made it so enjoyable, and had me not wanting the story to end.

Also I have to say I can relate to Ben with his need to do a drive by when finding a new place. That had me laughing, and saying "that's me". That man has a special place in my heart. He's just this amazing man.

Oh and the set up for Crushed? Uh, yes please!

I enjoyed Ben and Jordyn’s relationship grow and mature. Ben is there for her the night she arrives from Oregon with her boys and all of the possessions left from leaving her soon-to-be ex-husband. He recognizes her as his other half that night and realizes he needs to be careful and slow with building a relationship with her. Ben is teammates with her brother Josh, which is another reason to go slow with Jordyn.

Jordyn and is broken from her husband’s infidelity with her best friend and with how he tore down her self-esteem over years of criticism. She’s a single mom to two adorable, high energy boys so she is determined to make this new chapter in their life better. She is appreciative of her older brother, Josh, and Jess’s support. Josh is captain for the close knit Gold, and his teammates welcome his sister and nephews into their fold.

The relationship between Ben and Jordyn builds slowly and includes him developing a close relationship with her boys - Marcus and Sammy too. I’m loved how even though both Ben and Jordyn had emotionally painful experiences, both of them stepped up to support each other and the avoidance of any angsty drama.

This was an incredibly enjoyable and entertaining story that brings appearances and interactions with Gold teammates and their significant others.

I received a free ARC from the author and Elle Woods PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Another winner from the Gold family!
Covered, the 16th installment of Elise Faber’s fabulous Gold Hockey series features Ben, one of the rookies and a friend of Josh, the hero of Cap, and Josh’s sister Jordyn, who’s starting over with her boys after her husband imploded their life. Poignant and so real it almost feels like a story being told to you by a friend, Covered is yet another read from the Gold that is near impossible to put down. Elise does hockey romance extraordinarily well, and the strength of the found family that the Gold creates from players, to the organization, to friends and family of those connected to them, is utterly heart-warming. The kind that brings readers back for more, no matter where in the interconnected series of stand-alone romances that also has ties to Elise’s Breakers Hockey and new Rush Hockey serieses. Fan of Helena Hunting’s Pucked/All In world, Natasha Madison’s multi-series hockey universe, Teagan Hunter’s Carolina Comets, or Elise’s Breakers series/other work will absolutely love the family-style of the Gold that trickles all the way down through their organization.
Jordyn’s fresh start has left her guarding her heart, but Ben’s protective instincts and gentle care for both her and her boys makes it hard for her to resist him. And Ben knows that Jordyn isn’t ready, but also can’t deny the connection that he’s felt from the moment he laid eyes on her. And even Josh’s warnings and Jordyn’s wariness won’t put him off. Their story feels so real and is so well don that not shipping them isn’t possible, even at the beginning. I’m so looking forward to Crushed next spring, featuring Will and Lily!

Jordyn Webb, Josh's sister is starting over with her two sons after she catches her husband and bestfriend together now its divorce and a new town San Francisco home of the Gold her brother's Hockey Team were she will find a love she wasn't expecting and if you had asked her she would have said I'm done with relationships and heartache. But then theres Ben who is dealing with his own family drama who sees a kindred spirit in Jordyn someone who is the opposite of what he grew up with a strong women dealing with her pain without gilting her kids. So how dose Jordyn's brother feel about a friendship and romance with his team member well you have to read the book to find out then theres her ex husband he's a looser who tries to make Jordyn's new life just as miserable as he is.

Ben is so sweet he keeps going and trying no matter what his mom and sister throw at him family drama is the worst drama but when he meets Jordyn he just knows he's found the one now to just has to convince Jordyn and Josh he's playing for keeps and he wants a real family not the sad tragic one he grew up in. And his family his sister eventually gets it but his mom well thats just sad she can't see her mistakes.

This is another great read in the Gold Hockey series and I cant wait to see what's next. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This series…it NEVER disappoints! Each story packs so much emotion and Covered is no exception.

Jordyn’s adult life hasn’t been easy. With two young boys, moving to a new home in a new place, to start a new life is…overwhelming. She has her brother Josh and his “family” of the San Francisco Gold hockey team to help but, in the end, this new life for her boys, and herself, was her responsibility. A responsibility that she takes very seriously, not matter the weight of it.

Ben’s life hasn’t been easy, either. And as an “older” rookie on the team, he has plenty of pressure just maintaining his spot. But he also has family baggage. No smooth sailing there, either.

So when Ben arrives early at Jordyn’s house to help with the move-in (as many members of the team are coming to do later) and sees she’s clearly overwhelmed, he can definitely identify with that.

And so begins Ben and Jordyn’s story. There are wonderful moments (especially with the children, Sammy and Marcus) and as the story unfolds, Ben and Jordyn grow as individuals, as well as a couple. But, the road isn’t easy and there’s healing for each of them that needs to be done.

This is another wonderful story in the Gold Hockey series and I highly recommend!

Elise Faber has a game-winner with COVERED (Gold Hockey #16). In this story, San Francisco Gold’s Ben Roberts instantly fell for single mom Jordyn Webb and her two sons Sammy and Marcus. Jordyn is the sister of Gold captain, Josh Webb (CAP, Gold Hockey #15) and his best friend. There is an unwritten rule that you stay away from teammate's sisters, but Ben’s not going to let that stop him from going after what he wants.

Jordyn and Ben are perfect for each other. Jordyn has some self-esteem issues after catching her soon to be ex-husband sleeping with her best friend. Ben’s father left him at a young age. He had to pick up the pieces as his mom feel apart, and he needed to take care of his younger sister. He admires Jordyn for her strength and how she takes care of her boys. Ben has some issue to resolve with his past. I loved their emails to each other, and how they help each other heal. I appreciate the bond Ben forms with the boys.

I’m looking forward to Will’s and Lily’s story next, CRUSHED. COVERED is an excellent addition to the Gold Hockey series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Ben (sigh) and Jordyn might be my favorite couple. They both had a lot of baggage to unpack: he has a lot of guilt about what happened to his sister and she is starting over after she found her husband in bed with her best friend. The first time they see each other there is an undeniable connection but she isn’t ready to start something new.
I found the fact that they moved at her pace, so she felt like she had control of her life, refreshing and that he didn’t push her too fast. I also liked that he showed who he was by his interactions with her sons. I went through the gamut of emotions while reading this book, but it made the characters and reading experience that much better.
She was stronger than she realized and showed him support when he needed it, and when he reached out to her when things went horribly, my heart broke. His relationship with his sister and mom was heartbreaking and confrontations he had with them were long overdue and necessary.
I love this series and this book. I highly recommend both. I received and ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

After a horrible end to her marriage, Jordyn packed up her boys and moved south to San Francisco to be near her brother, a player on the Gold, to try and find herself and make a fresh start of things. But things are incredibly overwhelming for a newly separated mom that's been out of the job market for years.

The last thing she expected was to be embraced by the entire team. As she and her boys are taken under the wings of the giant family that makes up the Gold, the last thing she expected was to find comfort in one of the big burly players.

Ben knows pretty quickly that Jordyn is it for him. But he also knows that it's too soon for Jordyn to jump into anything but friendship. Soon though, they are each other's touch point - finding strength and courage that neither realized they had been missing until they found unwavering support from each other.

I loved watching both Jordyn and Ben grow and help to heal each others wounds from their difficult pasts. Such a great addition to the Gold family!

Jordyn has moved to be close to her brother after her marriage implodes. She is trying to figure out what to do in order to rebuild her and her kid’s life. Ben is a teammate of her brother, and from the moment he sees her, she is his. He doesn’t falter in his feelings. He does falter in the way in which he pursues her only because he has some hang-ups from his past. I adore this series and the fact that Faber is able and willing to show that there are all kinds of people that make up the world. Everyone has a past, and it has shaped the person that they have become. These two bring out confidence in each other that neither one was expecting… The Gold family is superb as always, and I can’t wait to see where they go next.

Gold Hockey #16

Jordyn left her husband who cheated on her with her best friend and took her 2 boys and moved into her future sil's house and filed for a divorce. Her brother Josh has been there for her and the boys and brought some of his teammates from the Gold hockey team to help unload and get the house set up. Ben is one of the members of the team that comes to help and he is just smitten with Jordyn from the beginning and the boys he think are great. She is just getting out of a marriage and isn't looking for a relationship but Ben just makes everything for her easy. And he treats her with respect and thinks she is beautiful, something she didn't get from her husband. Ben also has emotional scarring from his childhood and had to be the adult even when he was a child.
They start spending a lot of time together and help each other in the healing process. Will it turn into more?

This is the 16th book in this incredible series, and this is Ben and Jordyn’s journey. When Ben joins the Gold Hockey team, the last things he expects is to fall for a teammate’s younger sister. Jordyn is newly divorced, and a single mom to her two boys, and she just wants a fresh start, and is defiantly not looking for love again. Ben is determined to be there for Jordyn and the boys, and to make life a little easier, despite the black eye and the threats from her overprotective brother. This is a beautifully written story which has undeniable chemistry. Angst, emotions, humor, witty banter, family, friendships, and love, which leads to a sweet and entertaining page turner, which pulls at the heartstrings throughout.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

It’s time to catch up with the San Francisco Gold and this time it’s Ben and Jordyn’s story and boy do they have an entertaining tale to tell because we all know your teammates sister is off limits !!!!
Neither Ben or Jordyn are looking for love, he has just arrived on the team and she is recently divorced single mum and as her brother is Ben’s new teammate these two should avoid each other at all costs but when our hearts wants someone it’s hard to walk away. From the moment they meet they both realise what they are feeling could be something very special but will they take a leap of faith and risk friendships…..one click now to find out.
Covered ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I cried and I fell hard and fast for Ben, I adored Jordyn but what made this a very special read was watching Ben form a relationship and a bond with Jordyn’s little boy. A great addition to a wonderful series.

I'm a huge fan of the Gold series and the love these guys find. Ben is thrilled to get the opportunity to play with the San Francisco Gold and when he meets Jordyn, the sister of one of his teammates, he knows she is special. Jordyn is devastated when she is betrayed by her husband and her best friend and realizes that she is now a single mom to her sons. Understanding how difficult being a single mom is, Ben decides to help out Jordyn in any way he can. That changes their dynamic and the chemistry sizzles. Even though Jordyn admits that she feels it is too soon for her to be starting a relationship, Ben waits patiently for her to be ready, never giving up on them or her boys. I loved how their relationship was one of mutual support and understanding.
This story was emotional, hilarious, and crazy. Loved it.

This is a wonderfully written story with characters that have depth and are easy to connect with. I loved reading Ben and Jordyn’s story and felt the emotional upheaval they both are going through. They are great together and help each other deal with their insecurities, while slowly gaining confidence. They are understanding and perfect for each other.

Jordyn has gone through a traumatic divorce and she and her two little boys are still recovering. When she moves closer to her hockey playing brother to start over, she meets Ben.

Ben plays hockey with Jordyn’s brother. He is big, broody and keeps to himself. He had a tough childhood and feels guilty for things that were out of his control. Ben broke my heart. He is so sensitive and caring while silently beating himself up. Covered is another delicious read by Elise Faber.

Covered is the seventeenth book in the Gold Hockey series. There are lots of reoccurring characters, but the romance does stand alone.
Jordyn is going through a divorce and has her two boys to take care of, and Ben wants her for his own. Willing to take things slowly, to build on their foundation, do they have a chance at love, or will family issues get in their way?

Oh my goodness, this book was amazing! I adored the relationship that forms between Jordyn and Ben, built on so much trust and love and shared experiences, and it was just a beautiful and warm and lovely book. I didn’t want to put it down! Jordyn has so much inner strength, even when she thinks she was broken, and I loved watching her come back to herself, to realize her potential, and to see what love can truly be like when she’s with someone who supports her. Ben was so perfect, especially for Jordyn and her boys. He was there. He proved his loyalty and devotion. Plus they had some amazing chemistry and steam and phew! I loved them together! I loved their sweetness and their spiciness and their ups and downs. There’s some drama in this book, but most of my attention was centered on Jordyn and Ben and the boys. My heart and attention were both completely captivated!

5 🏒 Favorite hockey team, new favorite story

Covered is my new favorite story by Elise. There is so much emotion packed into this story it was unbelievable. I particularly loved the POV by Ben, reading about his feelings and how he was dealing with his past and the potential future with Jordyn. Ben was the gentle giant on the Gold team and I feel Elise did his story perfectly. Jordyn is Josh’s sister and of course Josh played the big brother card as expected. And Jordyn went toe to toe with him, standing up for relationship with Ben.
As always, I really look forward to snippets from her past characters. I can’t imagine the Gold locker room without Brit giving relationship advice. I hope she is not retiring after this season.

Covered is amazing. If you love hockey and single mom romances then you will just love this one. Ben plays for the Gold and has always been the guy to step up when someone needs it. Jordyn is a single mom who moved closer to her brother to start over her life. You feel this pull from the very start when it comes to Ben and Jordyn. I love how he takes his time and how he gets to know Jordyn and her boys. Ben is a stand up guy who always put his sister and mom first. Jordyn is so supportive of Ben when he really needs it. I love the banter and the chemistry between Jordyn and Ben. I could not get enough of this one. I loved Jordyn and Ben so much. You need to meet them today.

This one was a favorite for sure. Benny and Jordyn.

Jordyn's brother, Josh, is Ben's teammate. Josh and the team are helping Jordyn move after she found out her husband cheated on her. Moving herself not such a big deal, she gladly left almost everything behind, but her boys needed everything and she didn't want them to leave a thing behind. Ben decides to take a ride and see where the house is. What he finds breaks his heart.

Jordyn and Ben start a great friendship. Watching it grow is amazing. When Ben needs Jordyn and the roles are reversed you see the love start forming more and more. Question is, will her brother except it? And what happens when her ex comes back?

Covered, book sixteen in the Gold Hockey series follows Ben Roberts and Jordyn Webb. When Jordyn finds her husband and best friend together, she packs her bags and takes her two son's, Marcus and Sam, and moves to San Francisco to be closer to her big brother Josh and his wife Jess. Ben is new to the Gold, but he quickly makes friends with Josh. What he's not expecting is to fall for Josh’s sister, so when Josh catches them together, the resulting black eye are not going to keep Ben from seeing Jordyn again. Can Ben convince Jordyn to give love another try? Or will Jordyn’s recent divorce keep her from opening her heart?

I love this whole series but I truly think they just keep getting better and better! Jordan is a divorced single mom trying to start her life over with help from her hockey playing brother. As is with the Gold the whole team cares and supports one another. Ben is especially interested in Jordan and her two boys. Ben helps Jordan find herself and her strengths while Jordan seems to give Ben the strength to shed some guilt he’s been carrying for years. Everybody wins in this relationship especially her boys!! Love this feel good romance!

This is an entertaining story with a sweet romance and a supportive, caring cast of characters. There is instant love and low angst in Jordyn and Ben's relationship.  The angst in the story comes from both of their family lives and backgrounds; together, they help each other stand up for themselves and cope with their family problems. That Ben, such an amazing guy! Any woman would be mad not to want him! And Jordyn's sons are precious; I love their interactions with Ben. I'm looking forward to reading Will's story next.

Elise is at it again, pulling on our emotions! Jordyn has moved into her brother's fiancee's house, with her two boys, Marcus and Samuel, because her husband has left her.
Ben arrived back from the hockey game unsettled, so he goes to see where Jess' house is, as the team is helping Josh's sister move in tomorrow. Except he arrives to see a weeping woman on the ground, and he can't leave her.
Jordyn needs time and Ben is happy to give her that, especially as Josh is his captain and won't be happy.

Another great read in the series from Elise
