Why do bad things happen to good people?

After reading the Touissant series, it was pointed out that Bijoui and Lyfe were introduced in this book. I don’t want to spoil any part of this so I’ll keep it short. When you feel yourself side eyeing things, just keep reading. You’ll see that the title is fitting.

😩😩😩
Got darn it man this was good! I knew something was strange; from the first chapter, all the flashbacks, vague descriptions and secrets - I knew it!! This was a a journey and when I say I read this book so fast, I couldn’t put it down. I felt so bad for Lyfe & Bijou - these are clearly two souls that if things were different, they would definitely be together. Loved the mental health rep. Loved the plot twist. Loved the pain and realistic story. This is perfect, Dominique really outdid herself!

I’m Shook!
“Blow Your Mind” by Dominique Thomas took me by complete surprise! It blew my freaking mind. I usually can figure out how a story will play out with most books that I read, but honeeeeyyy, I was not expecting this. Dominique Thomas brought us such a unique and unexpected story! This is a book that I recommend you go into blindly. Don’t read any reviews or spoilers. I’m not even gonna say much about it here. I just want to praise Dominique and her gift of storytelling. I’m not a huge fan of short books and this book was just a bit under 200 pages, but it was so worth the read. It packed some much in so little pages, but everything felt so complete. Amazing storytelling! Great writing! The character development was on point. I would absolutely love to read more about these characters in the future.

I KNEW IT!!!!! Halfway through the book I called the ending!! This was soooooo good!!! OMG!!!! If you pay attention to the details throughout the story you’ll figure it out. Some details may seem like the author was confusing certain parts of the story but PAY ATTENTION!!! Man this was good! I was expecting the end but was still somewhat shocked! I even shed a thug tear at the end. Ugh my heart ached for Lyfe and Bijou…..Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What did I just read? I mean, I am trying to wrap my head around what just happened here! I am just stunned! 🤯 This read quickly pulled me in, then I was in a trance hoping and cheering for Bijou to get out of this situation! But, I kept questioning things and coming up empty! Am I missing something? Bijou reconnecting with Lyfe was just what she needed at this point in her life, and he needed her as well. Things were going well, until they weren't! Things began to unravel, and I became more confused than ever! I could not believe that bombshell announcement toward the end! Damn! How did I miss all the signs? My heart broke for Lyfe, as he was ready to risk it all to be by Bijou's side! 💔 Ma'am you did that, for real for real! Whew......... This read is going to keep me up tonight, thinking about these characters! Blew my mind indeed! What a ride! 👍👍👍

Unexpected twist!
The title appropriately fits the story. I won't say much as I don't want to give out any spoilers. It is a unique story with an unexpected twist. I will also add that Lyfe is bae, all bae. Even though several more stories could be generated from this one, this author owes me nothing. Great read!

Blow your mind
This title us exactly what happened to me in this story. I just can't believe the events that happened and how it was all due to her mental illness. I will say is Lyfe and Bijou meeting again was definitely a blessing because they both needed that wake up call. Lyfe was literally just walking thru life and Bijou was floating but it's like once they met back up things became more clear. Love the Supremes brothers, they definitely dropped jewels throughout this book. They had there brother back for real. Shocked was an understatement for this but I truly loled this story.

Okay Dominque. Like I really want to be mad with you but you accurately titled this story. It was a good read and pretty adventure packed. It was funny and I’m not going to lie, I really was hoping for the expected turnout but Dominque …. Okay sis! Lmaoo. Outside of some grammatical errors, and a few placements of wrong names and words, it was pretty good. Give it a try.

Omg what can I say?😭
This book really had my heart😭😭. The love that they shared was so real but in a different kind of way. Bijou and Lyfe were made for each other but unfortunately some things got in the way of their love. Dominique you did an amazing job on this book💕.

Somebody come help me pick my jaw up from the floor!!! This was good! Bijou and Lyfe's relationship was so beautiful to watch! Lyfe needed her to help him feel again. You definitely want to read this!

This is my first read by this author... I can say that I definitely enjoyed the ride that this author took me on... It read at a nice fast pace kept me wanting to read to figure out what was really going on here... Loved how the character were built up and how things did not get drawn out... Well except for the big reveal at the end that could "Blow Your Mind"... I definitely recommend that you give this book a try...
With Bijou... I felt so bad for her... She was just so sweet... Yet it was like she had so much on her plate that she didn't know what to do or how to deal with it all... She was running to escape it all but all it did was lead her to her past... Then to think if she didnt have her sister Rumi would she have made it as far as she had... Rumi was her protector... She was the only on that Bijou could count on... Yet she was also really making Bijou mad and had her in her feelings and had her emotions all over the place battling with herself internal... Bijou became desperate and was willing to do anything in order to escape what she was desperate with... As I was reading things felt like they were off... Like I knew something was not right with Bijou or her sister... But I just couldn't put my finger on it...
Lyfe was so mean and rude in the beginning... I really hated how he talked to and treated Bijou... Then even when he found out who she was he was still a jerk but it felt like he hated her even more... Then he switched up so fast... And I started to like him but I still felt some type of way about him... Then he started to prove himself... And he became a good guy and someone I was happy that Bijou had around... But it was like the moment these two started to find happiness with eachother... Rumi kept stepping in... but why... was she trying to protect Bijou and if so then from what... Why was Rumi so set against Lyfe...
But Honey when things all started to play out all the pieces of the puzzle really started to come together... Man oh man what was revealed... I just really wish that everyone could have found their happily ever after...
I am definitely going to see what other books this author has on deck... I liked their writing style the plot and storyline...

Dang !!!!
I was not expecting this 😭 this threw me for a loop for real for real. Dominique Thomas got it for sure her mind is out of this world. I was rooting for them and loved their connection but this whole process was crazy man. I feel so bad for bijou she deserves better and if we get insight on how a person like her can feel imagine other people with the same situation it’s so unfair the cards they get dealt with but I’m glad she is getting the help and realizes she needs the help. I feel for lyfe man just when he was about to get that happy after it’s gone in a blink. I really hope something good comes for both of them in the future because this ending was just unbelievable 😭. I highly liked lyfe’s crew and people they are such characters and so interesting while hilarious I hope we get insights on them also. I loved how the author subtly included her other series and world interwoven but good by itself at the same time. This book is really good and gets you caught up definitely worth the read 🙌🙌

Ummmm.. wooowww
Sooo great story line and I understood what was going on kinda early in but gave the wrong diagnosis in a sense. Anyway it’s my fist read by the author and though the book was good I feel it could have been developed a little better, I’d rather read a little longer book that better develops the character and build up of a story like this then a short rushed one and it felt like the author was rushing to get to the “blow your mind” portion. And it didn’t necessarily blow my mind because it felt to rushed. Idk overall good read just give us some background history on the characters and better build up of the plot next time and take your time with scene switching because it felt again rushed .

I don’t know what I thought this book was going to be like but what it was definitely was way off.
Omg. I’ve read a few of Dominique’s books and I usually take heed to her authors notes but I didn’t do that this time and chile, I knew better.
This story went from girl stay focused to girl were you even focused at all?!?
Bijou and Lyfe were childhood friends, each other’s first ( not a spoiler it’s very obvious from their interactions)
I thought this was going to be a second chance at love type book but was I wrong .
And don’t get me started about that ending😭

I applaud D. Thomas. From the beginning i knew to savor this book and not rush through it!!! The minor details felt more than important, it wasn’t predictable but after a while you could tell something just wasn’t quite right! I cried and cried and cried towards the end because i just knew one of us was going to close this book with a broken heart! What a well written book, you don’t read books like this often that want to send you off on a rant and tell the world to read the book! EVERYBODY READ IT!

Wowwww. Just when you think you know…you have no idea. The things that JuJu dealt with are very heavy. I felt bad for Lyfe because he was willing to lay it all on the line. Trauma is something serious and Dominique captured that with this story, pen game definitely strong. Hopefully we can get a follow-up story on Lyfe and the Supreme Brothers. I really love Shameek 😂😂😂 he had be dying. I highly recommend this read if you want your mind blown.

When hearts break
Smdh. Juju and Lyfe were meant to be! This was a deeply entertaining book! Throughout the entire thing I wondered exactly where she ran from and why! One persons reality is just that, their reality. Unfortunately others get caught in their sphere and alot of them are damaged in the process causing them to challenge their own mental state.
Very well written. Would a part 2 be possible?

This was quite a book. Definitely different. I wasn’t expecting this! Threw the whole story I was getting fed up with Rumi reckless attitude but mannn…my mind was definitely blown with Bijou. I was really caught off guard. Mental illness is real. I must say though, when everything hit the fan, Lyft was still deeply in love with Bijou. My heart broke for him and her too. Amazing Story!

Blow you mind was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the twist on this … I really thought Bijou was really a nurse that was broke out of jail for murder . This book totally different from all the other Dominique Thomas wrote but , love this . You did it again . Side bar : I Can’t wait for more for more Matin family !!

Mind completely BLOWN
Wow wow wow. I’m speechless. The title did not prepare me for how blown my mind would be. The characters, the details, the happiness, the heartbreak, the supreme brothers, the encouragement, the motivation, the DRIP… EVERYTHING was so perfectly written. I don’t know what else to say but READ IT. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow!! I did not see that coming 😳
This book did exactly what the title states, "blow your mind!" I was not prepared for the plot twist at all!! My mind was definitely blown!! My mouth was agape! Lyfe was a solid dude! It sucks how it all ended. He deserves true happiness. Bijou deserves healing and happiness. I hope they both get what they deserve. Very well written story!

Oh my goshh. This book just confirmed why i love Dominique. This book was crazy as hell i loved it. I am so interested to see what other stories come from the Urban Crest family. This is a must read.

Dominique you are talented girl. I truly wasn't expecting that ending. Hopefully we'll get more from the other characters in the near future and eventually revisit Bijou & Lyfe. Or at least Lyfe he deserves a happy ending.

Mind blown
I could feel where this story was going. I couldn't help but continue to read just in case I was wrong. This story was really interesting and gave some insight to mental health issues. That ending was a tear jerker for real. I wanted that HEA badly.

I honestly don’t know where to start because my mind is really blown! This was in my opinion a phenomenal read! The ending took me out. I really rooted for this couple but life has all kinds of twist and turns!! Get into it!!
