A mountain lion, a motorcycle club, and a gut-wrenching tragedy...
Melanie Fitzpatrick made a mistake. One that could cost her life and the lives of those she loves. But how was she supposed to know pursuing an adventure with her human biker lover would end in tragedy? Now that she's all grown up, all she'd wanted to do was let her inner lioness out to roam.
Tate Masterson, the biker known as "Bones," lives a double life made even more complicated by his love for his now-deceased brother's woman, Melanie Fitzpatrick.
By the Club's code of ethics, Melanie is totally off limits. So if Bones falls to temptation, he could lose more than just his place within the brotherhood. He could actually lose his life.
But while Melanie and Bones are busy worrying that their love is forbidden and deadly in his world, they forget to watch their backs for the danger coming from hers. It turns out, the threats against the Fitzpatricks didn't end in the barn fire.
USA Today bestselling author A.S. Green lives in chilly Minnesota and spends the all-too-short summers on Lake Superior, which is the muse for her paranormal and contemporary romances. She writes complex characters, action-packed plots, and snarky in-your-face banter. And, of course, loads of steamy love scenes.
When she's not writing romance, she's probably watching Outlander or pleading (unsuccessfully) with her husband to don the kilt she bought him last summer.

She had everything that could cure me, and right now--just looking at her--I felt like the sickest bastard on earth.
4.5 stars!
I was so pleasantly surprised by Melanie and Bones' story! I've never read a shifter/MC crossover novel, but after this brilliant novel, I am now on the lookout for more. As always, Anne delivered a great romance filled with angst, drama, and danger in such a seamless way that I did not want to stop reading. I loved the slow-burn romance that blossomed between Melanie and Bones in the face of tragedy as our MCs gradually accept that fate is ultimately undeniable. Melanie was such a great heroine in how she wasn't easily cowed by all the alpha male energy surrounding her, and I loved how domineering yet sweet Bones was towards her. This was such a great addition to the series, and after seeing my favorite hellhounds again, I am so stoked for more♡
Tropes: fated mates, human/shifter pairing, alpha hero, kickass heroine, MC romance, forbidden love, best friend's girl (no cheating), secret pining, bodyguard hero, age gap, will they/won't they, "who did this to you" vibes

I love how the story is moving towards new characters, well, not new, but new to be following. I just love the way A. S. Green writes. Her stories are fun, exciting and filled with adventure. This book does not disappoint at all!
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone. 5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

Renegade Lioness by A.S. Green is the next amazing book in the Secrets of the Northland Shifter Series and immediately takes place in & during Mated to the Mountain Lion. We learn about the youngest & only sister Melanie of the Fitzpatrick Family in the previous books; this is her story along with Bones aka Tate.
Duality is an overall theme in this book and makes for interesting dynamics, action & dialogue. There is Melanie the woman & the mountain lioness, Tate - the doctor & biker known as Bones, the human world & the ancient magical world, biker brotherhood loyalty & shifter mates loyalty, childhood crushes & adult lust, moments of love & death, keeping secrets & honesty...
Like all of A.S. Green's stories - this one reveals a lot, hints more at what is coming, we learn different facets of everyone & become invested in all the people. A.S. Green's world-building thoroughly entertains you...PLUS some seriously hot A.F, phone-melting sex between Melanie & Tate are experienced & enjoyed.
...aaaaannnnddd one of my all time fave hell hounds - Cormac MacConall (& his Family) is back with this series.
⚠️ ...there is a mini cliffhanger at the end...
😊🌴🌺 I received an ARC from Booksprout for my honest review.
I leave you with this pledge of love & loyalty (...que the swooning)...
“We’re together,” Bones announced, as if it wasn’t already obvious. “It’s new. But in a way…it’s old. For both of us. We’re staying together whatever way this goes down. If I have to give up my legacy, the Club, my brothers…so be it. Some things are just more important.”
Melanie is a lioness shifter and Tate/Bones is a member of an MC. Melanie has been through a lot and the loss of her boyfriend has been the hardest for her to deal with. Bones is torn between his feelings for Melanie and betraying the club's code of ethics. This is an MC shifter romance with great characters, MC drama and danger, and a forbidden love that is meant to be. Renegade Lioness is book four and a great addition to the Secrets of the Northland Shifters series. After that ending I can't wait to read the next book in this series to find out what happens next. Tragedy to triumph of a second chance Renegade Lioness (Secrets of the Northland Shifters Book 4) by A. S. Green sheds a new light on this book’s heroine. She is the youngest, and only Lioness, of the Fitzpatrick family and Melanie is struggling to find her place and meaning in her life. Her need for adventure and exploring outside of her home and brothers evolves into tragedy. The tragic event brings out how emotional and vulnerable Melanie truly is beneath her tough and seemingly unaffected demeanor. The Hero of this book, Tate, is just as growl-ly and grumpy as any shifter without being a shifter himself. Deep down his heart belongs to Melanie, but honor and loyalty to his MC rules creates antagonism he constantly battles with himself. The back and forth prompted by their chemistry and draw as mates creates all kinds of emotional havoc that explodes when it becomes clear that Melanie is in danger. Overall, I love all the elements within this paranormal romance which also includes a sort second chance as these two knew each other and discover their hearts belonged to the other even back then. Because of their shared past, the connection between Melanie and Tate is palpable, undeniable and ultimately fated. Through the tragedy, this couple triumphs in overcoming danger and perceived loyalty to find their much deserved HEA. When I started this book, I expected it to go in a certain direction… it did not!! From the very first word to the last, I could not put it down. November is much too long to wait for the next book and more of this shifter series!!
Love that you’re tying it back into the other series… I’ve missed them!!
I really loved that this book drew me in from the beginning and I just wanted to find out what happened next. I love that A.S. Green books are so great and world building and keep me interested. I liked Melanie and that she was a shifter and Bones is in an MC.

If you missed 1-3 go back! They CAN be read out of order but it follows better in order. Each book is a story dedicated to a specific couple but it's HFN working on HEA - NOT there yet! - With side stories/subplots that work better in order. Thank you for your time, talent AND THE STORIES!
