Never the Bride #12.5

Always the Reverend

Rate this book
Always the reverend but never the groom—but not this Christmas…

Joseph never thought that becoming a vicar would separate him completely from his flock—and all marital prospects.

But this Christmas, he's back with his sister and thinking wistfully of the lady in his congregation that he cannot take his eyes off.

Who has suddenly appeared in Bristol.

Will he be able to escape the trappings of his position, and speak openly to the woman he loves?

This novella is a steamy Regency romance with a happily ever after, no cliffhangers, and is part of a series that can be read in any order.

I purchased this as part of a multi-author bundle called STAR OF WONDER.

Short novella, but very sweet about two very shy people. Our H is a reverend and only sees himself as such, not as a man someone would be interested in. The h is part of his congregation and feels he doesn't see her.

Two souls who end up forgetting their shyness and find their voice to say what is in their hearts.

Clean story, no cheating, some romance, HEA. (ljb)

Cute and awkward! I’ve never read a HR with the reverend as the hero, my only impression of regency reverends is Mr. Collins. This guy is probably just as awkward but he’s hot so it’s more of a Hugh grant “handsomely befuddled” type of vibe, instead of just straight up cringe.

A very sweet tale of a Reverend who is shy and tongue tied and wants to be seen as a man more than Reverend.
Harriet has admired Joseph for years and does not think she will ever have a chance with him.
When she sees him in Bristol they meet for weeks taking and staring out at sea.
Rev Joseph is still afraid and delightful Harriet takes things into her own hands for a HEA!

Sweet.

A short and sweet (painfully sweet) read, fitting in nicely alongside the “Never the Bride” series by Emily E K Murdoch.

I can take one lead being shy, but not both.
