Ella Will it ever end? The constant battle for survival. Will I ever claw my way out of the darkness that’s begging to take me under? I will. I have to. Because now that I’ve had a taste of true happiness and safety, I refuse to let it go. My entire life, I’ve been a victim. A pawn in everyone else’s messed-up plans. No more. I will not cower. I will not hide. I will find my strength, and I will fight. I found love when I wasn't looking for it–when I’d given up on it, and now that it’s in my hands, I’ll be damned if I let it be taken from me. They may have demons of their own, but at the end of the day, they are my demons–my devils. In a world full of brutality, murder, and destruction, all of us will have to lean on each other to find our way out. But what happens when the enemies we thought would strike us down, end up being nothing more than distractions from the real threat? Will we survive together or will it tear us apart? And what about my best friend? Will he find his way into our lives or will he decide to abandon me once and for all?
Stone Mi Cielo. My Sky. My World. Mine. Except, she’s not mine. She’s theirs. Until now. I have waited most of my life to have her back in my arms, in my orbit, in my life. I will not let her go. I will not allow those who haunt her past, to destroy her future. Isabella is full of secrets and pain. She’s spent her life lost in a darkness created by monsters. She needs us, but more than that, we need her. Enemies are coming from every side in all of our lives. They’re hellbent on tearing us apart and taking us down one by one. But I will not let them. I may just be the nerdy, quiet tech guru, but I’m still a Devil. I’m just as powerful as my friends, if not more because unlike them, I have something to lose. If Isabella is taken from us again, we’ll all lose her, but they’ll also lose me. Because I refuse to live in a world where she does not exist, and that makes me the most dangerous Devil of them all.
Where do I start with this book? I really enjoy this story. I really like the twists and the turns, the spice it's all really good. However, there is still a lot that could have been cut out of this book, and it would have made a really good book great. The long internal thoughts in the middle of conversations which I have been skimming through because it isn't significant in forwarding the plot it takes up so much unnecessary space. But like the last 3.5 books I will continue with this series because it actually is so good just unnecessarily long.
I gotta say I'm relieved there aren't links to songs in this book like there were in the last one. Added a star just for that.
So little of this series has been a romance, it's almost all internal monologuing going in endless circles. I mean like half of the constant monologuing is whining about how there isn't more time spent on romance. If even the characters know it's an issue maybe just write it in? Tedious.
If this Maddox/Hunter flirting is just a tease I really will lose it. Frankly it's the most compelling pairing at this point.
Here we go again, and I say that in the best way possible! Another perfect masterpiece of a book from Bex Dawn! Literally love her and her writing. Read the warnings at the beginning, to know where to stop if you have limits. She helps you to know where some of the hard parts are to skip if you need to! I don’t know how she does it, but Bex just captures you and holds your attention and twists your heart while creating a whole image to get lost in the whole time you read. There are so many topics touched on in that have some powerful messages. This includes toxic relationships, what makes a family, loving yourself/self-image, owning up to your actions, open communication, and many more. This series, particularly this book, will ruin you, and fix you, all at once. Buy the tissues and keep ‘em close. You feel their pain, their heart ache, but also the love between them all. It’s cathartic to get through and if you have any childhood trauma, you’ll probably relate. You just want to reach through and hug all of them. The details, plot twist (didn’t see that ending coming), foreshadowing for future books… just so good! Watching Ella stand up for herself to certain someone’s will make you proud and cheer her on. Absolutely love her as a FMC. The possessiveness of these men, and *ahem* Hunter! Swoon. Getting more of Stone and a bit more from Nyx was everything. Absolutely obsessed with them all and now I have to impatiently-patiently wait for book 4. Something big is coming and I am so excited to see where these characters end up next. If you’ve gotten this far, just do yourselves a favour and go read them. Start with Crash, then Burn, & Evolve. You’ll be happy you did!
Ella has found her way back home from yet another traumatic experience at the hands of her ex-boyfriend but it would seem there are more facets to this mystery than she ever imagined. A villain from her past is now looking for her and she knows that it is only a matter of time before he ends up catching up with her. This realization brings with it the fact that she will always be looking over her shoulder for the man who destroyed her life. The outcome of this knowledge leads Ella into severe behaviors. One minute catatonic and the next letting herself fall into some old habits she didn't realize she had. She is starting to realize that she needed to be stronger. Even when she had been training before it was as a meek mouse just wanting to learn how to protect herself. Now she needed to be a weapon unto herself and she knew just the men to help her with that. Add to that finding a place for Hunter, her best friend, in her new life and her guys own issues with their syndicate, they all have a lot on their hands. Will they make it out intact or fall apart?
It was about time that they started delving more into Ella's past. You would think that would have been something they focused harder on in the beginning, but it seemed to take a backseat to their need to track down her ex-boyfriend and exact revenge. I am liking that they are starting to show Ella remembering some things through muscle memory even if she doesn't fully know where it is all coming from. I am really curious where she came from and what accident she suffered through. My theory was it was the same accident that the boys went through when they were children but that is just my thoughts.
Once again I want to punch the lights out of Nyx because he's being so stubborn. However, he does start to ease up a little which is finally some progress. I guess his guilt over what happened to Ella and his role in it really got to him. Look at him go! He can show growth after all. If it's not surprising Nyx is both my favorite and my least favorite. I think I will love him when he loses that chip on his shoulders but for now my favorite title goes to Gage. Got to love a cool and controlled dominant figure.
I think this book was good but it was not as good as the others I have read. And there is a little bit of teasing leaning towards a potential split off from the reverse harem in two of the guys which I am not a fan of personally. I like books where the female is the only focus for each of the guy. Them exploring sexual relations with each other as well just makes me 'meh'. And the hinting in this case made my eyes roll so hard I gave myself a headache. If it weren't for that I probably would have rated it higher. But this my personal impression of the story as it's going. I am unsure if I will read the next installment when it comes out in September or not but if this is the end for me then I do think it was good while it lasted.
I will need to review this book together with all 3 previous books in this series because I just so happened to consume them all in one huge gulp.
I read Crash, the novella, first. I have a separate review for that. It really baited me on this series. I was so intrigued with the plot and it was - like an appetizer - just a preview of the main course. Then I sat down with Burn, Evolve and Resurrect back to back. Let's just say I barely came out of my cave until last night around 2 am and I really wasn't ready to. I was left speechless. I cried. I cried so much. I had a few nightmares. Not gonna lie. Oh, but I laughed twice as much and I loved like a teenager, too.
This book was different from some of the other dark mafia romance books I've read in the past. Bex has a way of really developing the plotline so deeply that you are completely consumed by it. The spicy scenes are just the frosting on the cake. The storyline is the true meat and potatoes.
The characters are so well-developed. I feel like I truly know them on a personal level. I feel like I WAS Ella for almost an entire week! I loved each character like they were my own, I hated each enemy as if they had wronged me personally. I cried whenever Ella and Hunter talked about their past. I smiled every time Maddox smiled his gorgeous smile and winked at me. I wanted to slap Nyx every single time he did something dumb. I could just visualize Gage in his Armani suit looking like a GQ model so well I could almost smell his cologne. And Stone, the things I thought about with Stone...
The spicy scenes were definitely at the very least a 4.5/5 for me. I'm going to leave that .5 unclaimed just in case I get any more surprises this month. But yeah, I blushed. I made that stupid face you make when you read something and you're looking around the room just praying no one else can see your face or hear your heart pounding. My eyes bulged and my mouth wouldn't close. Yeah, you know that look. I had to go back and RE-READ it a few times just to make sure I was reading the scene right, making sure all characters were in position as intended...you get the picture.
I am floored at how intense this series is. I love how pieces of the Trichotemy is intertwined. I can't wait to dissect this series further along with the other series so I can connect the dots even better before book 4 comes out in September.
Negatives: I really couldn't find many. I am a beta reader/proofreader by nature so of course, I found a few editing issues here and there but they did not hinder the experience one bit. If you DO let them, then you will truly be missing out on an intense series. In fact, I'd venture to say you won't even notice them at all.
Readers: Please make sure to check all TW and CW! They have been made pretty clear so if you have any issues or think you might possibly be triggered, then please put your mental health first and take all necessary precautions.
Also, when I say this ends on a cliffhanger, I mean I nearly threw my phone at the wall at 2 AM when I finished. The only reason I didn't was that I didn't want my husband to catch me staying up all night on a CHURCH NIGHT reading books I'd need to talk to my priest about today. If I had a time machine, I would have spent today in September with book 4.
I have to put this series in my top 3 series read this year. BINGE THIS! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
I received Resurrect as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have been patiently waiting for Resurrect ever since Bex left us on a cliffhanger with Evolve and this did not disappoint. I'm over here looking up when we get the final instalment with Prevail because this was simply amazing and I need to know what happens next. This book was everything! I feel SO invested in these characters lives after 3 heart wrenching books. The plot twist at the end had me shouting "what" out loud in the middle of my house and trying to click forward for more on my e-reader!
You absolutely cannot read this as a stand alone. Do yourself a favour and start at the very beginning and be prepared to be destroyed with Crash, Burn & Evolve. Read all the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book and do not go in blind. These books are amazing but are dark, deep and heavy with serious trauma and demons from all of the characters. If you are sensitive this is not the series for you! This is an intense continuation of a gang/mafia romance where there are multiple love interests with our badass female main character. Then once you are done with Los Diablos books and are waiting for the last and final instalment, pop over to her other series in New York that has the characters interwoven and loosely connected. SO good!
Resurrect picks up immediately from Book #2 when Elle has been taken and her four men will do everything and anything including burn the world down to get her back safely. The story of resurrect is a deep dive into the demons of Ella, Hunter & Stone specifically. There are intense flashbacks to childhood trauma which the reader can choose to skip forward based on carefully laid out symbols throughout the story but I think if you skip them the story will just not be as powerful. Ella and all her men; Nyxon, Gage, Maddox, Stone & Hunter come together in this story and form an unbreakable bond emotionally, mentally and most important physically when all their secrets are truly revealed.
Resurrect brings a level of heat that we've all been waiting for with Ella and her men. When you get to the rooftop hot tub scene, you'll know! Be prepared and have your devices charged because this was hawt!! What woman doesn't want 4 hulking tattooed hotties panting after her? Sign me up please! 5 starts of spicy smexy goodness that included BDSM, bondage, degradation and praise.
"He's right. You're ours, Babygirl. Mine. Gage's. Stone's. Nyxon's. Ours. No one else will ever touch you again."
I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it either.
The original novella that introduced this series dragged me in hard and I've been patiently awaiting for book three to come out, only to feel a little disappointed.
I found this book a little difficult to get through for a few reasons. First of all, this book is DARK. And not just dark in the themes it explores, but dark in the way that there are a lot of flashbacks that are really detailed in a way that made my skin crawl and were a little difficult to get through. If you are someone who is triggered by SA, especially by SA of a child, I can't imagine you being able to get through those scenes. I had to skip through a few of them because it was way too much for me. (HOWEVER, I want to note that the author has a dagger symbol at the start and end at each of the flashbacks to the SA, so it makes it easy for the reader to skip those scenes if it's too difficult for them. I really appreciated that.)
The other reason I found it difficult to get through this book is because it's really a lot of flashbacks, monologues, dialogue, etc - not a lot of direct plot movement or action. That's okay, because sometimes in a series you really need a book that allows for character development and expositional breathing (see Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix), but it just felt like too much of nothing but trauma in this book, which made it hard to get through. By the time we get to the end, we have a sudden dramatic scene and a huge cliffhanger, and it gave me a little whiplash how fast we went from 0 to 100 in this book.
I'm going to continue the series to see what happens, but this book didn't necessarily leave me absolutely itching for the next one.
The raw emotion you feel from both Ella and Hunter as they pour their past out, the guilt both of them still carry all these years later. Absolutely heartbreaking but I was SO happy they finally opened up to they guys. Now if we could get Stone to share!
We witness Ella completely breakdown and that was rough, especially from the guys POV and hearing how helpless they felt. It’s been building since the beginning and honestly, I think she really needed it even though she had to relive awful moments.
This book definitely deepened certain relationships now that everyone’s feeling safe to open up about their pasts/issues. My heart hurt for Madds 😔
But sexual tension between Hunter & Maddox? I’m HERE for it!! Hopefully we’ll get to explore that more in the next book. 🤞🏻
Alsooooo, I’m just going to say what I’ve been thinking since the last book… Hunter and Stone are half siblings. Their features have been compared multiple times and everyone’s noticing their similarities.
Nyx, my man. I said last book that he needed to get his shit together or I was kicking him out of the harem whether Ella agreed or not. His eyeballs finally opened, so I’m feeling a redemption happening for him soon.
That cliffy had me in SHOCK but opened up so many more questions and possibilities. I cannot wait for the next book!
Why Choose // Multi POV // Alphahole // Dark Romance // Mafia/Gang Romance // Touch her you die
Resurrect is the third book in the Los Diablos Syndicate series and picks up right where Evolve left off.
This book does have a long list of potential triggers and does touch on some pretty intense topics, so please make sure you check those before you start reading.
You guys, I absolutely love this series! I devoured Burn and Evolve but I must say, Resurrect is my favourite so far ! The plot, the banter, and the smut—I love it all.
My favourite thing, though, is the character development! Maddox will forever own my heart, but I freaking LOVE Stone and Nyx too! Let’s be real, I adore them all and would marry them tomorrow if I could, except for Hunter .. I’m still a bit iffy about him!
Bex, thank you for bringing me out of my reading slump! I absolutely adore you and cannot wait to see where your writing takes you! It just keeps getting better and better with each book you put out into the world and I am here for it!!
If you haven’t read this series or any series written by Bex, I HIGHLY recommend you do! You won’t be able to put them down.
-TRIGGER WARNINGS - Self harm // Therapy // Depression // Anxiety //Gang violence // Drugs/weapons // Sexual trauma and abuse // Human trafficking // Graphic language // Racial and sexual slurs // Physical and mental abuse // Gaslighting // Kidnapping // Sexual kinks // Child abuse/sexual abuse past references // Death/murder // Rape // Drug/alcohol abuse
This series will always stick with me. Ella's story is heartbreaking and I relate to her in so many ways. Resurrect is the 3rd book in the LDS series, with the next coming out in 2023 and let me tell you, this series is worth the read and the wait even with the cliffhanger! Evolve, book 2, was my favorite and I didn't think it could get any better after it. But it did, just in different ways. Ella struggles with her past in this one and grows stronger with every page you turn. But watching her grow, even with the constant things she's being thrown is amazing. I can't wait to see her kick ass in book 4. Hunter, my sweet Hunter, I did not care for you much at first but you've proved yourself in book 3 and I love you now.
With all of that being said, Bex builds you up with things in this book to then destroy you. In all the best ways. Prepare yourselves...also remember, kindles/phones are NOT indestructible, don't throw it when those pages stop turning at the end!!
This is an emotional roller coaster with spice and humor. I loved every second of it. ❤️
Whaoowww just Whaoowww … This série is so good. So it starts with Ella kidnap by her ex drew …she kill him and escape. Then she have nightmares all the times and needs hunter so bad.. We learn that hunter is in love with her and so is she but she doesn’t see it !! I didn’t see this twist coming at all and it was very good .well done !! People want to kill Ella and hunter so the guys and Ella decide that he is gonna come live with them .hunter like Maddox ..i think that may be in the next book they gonna have a thing !!! Ella finally tell the guys her and hunter story (about the abuse ,the rape etc..) At the end on Ella ‘s birthday they go to an Halloween party and Eric her abuser is there .he try to kill Ella nag hunter jumps in front of her and he is injured.we don’t know if he is dead . Ella is kidnapped and when she wakes up she finds her foster parents and her mom ..her memories come back and we learn that she is skylar Moreau princess of the bay . Can’t wait to read the next one !!!
Nope can't do it. Once she starte looking at Hunter like he was the sexiest man meat on planet earth surrounded by the hot boy band that is Los Diablos, I was done. I've never liked Hunter in the series. He should have left her well alone and not become obsessed with her. I was also pissed off that because of her years long emotional affair with Hunter that she couldn't love the guys properly and let them be there for her. Also, I was not about to watch Hunter and Maddox flirt with each other. Big nope. That's, just no. Too many of those came in at once and I was done. I loved the series so much and was going through them as fast as I could despite being busy with life and this all after her depression episode just threw everything out that window for me. No, can't do it anymore. She keeps hiding everything possible from the guys and keeps Hunter friend zoned for years. Guys don't just get out of the friend zone that easy because shes feeling horny with 4 of the hottest guys on the planet. I'm out.

Resurrect is book #3 in the Los Diablos Syndicate series. This is a dark reverse harem romance. Make sure to check the trigger warning.
Bex, you always leave me speechless!!!
Resurrect will take you on an emotional ride! We pick up where we left off in Evolve and it's non stop amazingness. Ella, Hunter and even Stone deal with things from their past, Gage and Maddox won't stop until their girl is safe and happy, and even Nyxon gets his head outta his butt. Ella and the guys have such amazing connections and are creating something beautiful together.
Those flashbacks tho!! Broke my freaking heart so much! I just wanted to hug Ella, but I know she will just keep getting stronger.
Don't even get me started on the spice in this book!!!! 3 words- rooftop hot tub 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am so obsessed with this series and I can't wait for Prevail!!!
When Bex first posted the video of her own heartbreak with writing this book, I just knew I wouldn’t be the same. And she did not disappoint. Grab tissues, and maybe a hunky friend 🥵, because your emotions will be all over the place.
Before diving into this book, make sure you read the TW, this book dives DEEP into trauma, and many other things. So just keep that in mind. Now, after Resurrect, Ella has been taken and her guys, are all panicking and searching for her. Stone, Maddox, Gage, Nyxon… and Hunter 🙄, must come together in this book to help each other, especially Ella. And how Bex brings them all, it’s crazy, especially when we get into the demons that Ella, Hunter & Stone all have.
With all the trauma, Bex did not leave out the 🥵 steamy parts. Especially the hot tub scene on the roof, sign me up!
I am now wallowing in a corner waiting for book 4 😳😳.
For those that, I do see negative comments, please read the whole book before you judge. Even though my trauma hasn’t been the same as eve’s but I still connect with her character as well as Bex’s writing because there are similarities, and the fact that Ella continues to fight for herself, and figure out what she needs to survive. She finds the strength within her self with five men that equally helps her through the many depths of hell that has been forced upon her and I agree, not one person can be enough to help her because each of these men hold the ability to help Ella through this, and to fight for herself in ways, the as humans need to do. Bex your books hold dear to my heart and my soul because just like these five men, your books are helping me in many ways that even therapy could never help.
Enjoyed the first part of this series, but honestly don’t know how it continued to have good reviews. Spoilers below:
I read the novella prequel, book 1, book 2, and through chapter 18 in this book and have decided to stop. Maybe I’ll come back and try to finish at some point, but the inclusion of Hunter just makes absolutely no sense. Then the fact that the other four are fine with it and hunter and Isabella don’t tell them everything at this point is just ridiculous. We’ve been going around and around her not telling them about her foster father and she’s letting them chase their tails without telling them. We aren’t in book 1 or even 2 anymore. It’s 50% done with book 3 and it’s still the same crap.
Will update if I decide to resume at a future time and anything changes.
This never ends! Omg! I'm crying about who just died! Sorry spoiler but I can't believe that this all just happened! This series is so great! It's got everything, I mean everything! If you've made it to book two well wait til you read this one! So much comes together then did it just all fall apart?!!! This is crazy I mean edge of my seat! I'm laughing at the inner dialogue then crying because the issues brought up break my heart and touch my soul and then I'm so angry and now I'm crying over what just happened! Oh please I don't want him dead! Again, sorry for the spoiler but I'm so upset and I had to finish this book so I'm exhausted! Lol! Ok Bex you are awesome👍! I now have to wait for the final book! Ugh! 💔💥💓💥!
If you haven’t read this, then you probably should. I’ve never read anything so raw and beautiful. A dark why-choose romance, that isn’t for the faint hearted so check the trigger warnings before proceeding. This series was wonderfully written, the sheer attention to detail and accurate depiction of haunting events and their impact, evoked the most overwhelming emotions whilst reading. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re looking for something heart wrenching and real then look no further. It’s clear the author has poured herself into these pages and all you can do is applaud them for bearing their soul to us in such an exquisitely agonising way. As a bibliophile that has reads hundreds, if not thousands of books, I have never come across anything like this.
HOLY MOLY. I didn’t think this could be better than the rest of the series before but boy I was wrong! I ate this shit up! You literally never know where the story is going to take you at this point. I haven’t fallen in love with characters like this in SO long. The way this series has been written makes you feel like you’re really there in the story it’s absolutely incredible. Again, I love a plot heavy series especially when there is this many books and the books being the lengths they are. Obviously the smut is a VERY nice bonus. This series has been living in my head rent free for days now. I almost don’t even want to continue reading because I don’t want it to ever end but the way this one ended…. Literally I have no choice because I HAVE TO KNOW

Another good book in this series by Bex Dawn. It picks up immediately after the end of the previous book and the story continues to twist and turn in such a good way. As with the previous books this one has some sensitive parts, please read the trigger warnings at the beginning. What I really liked about this book is that these parts of the book were labeled with a certain symbol at the beginning and end so you could skip over these parts and carry on reading the story. It ends on another cliffhanger and as usual I can’t wait to read the next book. I would definitely recommend this series.
Now what takes this one apart is the turmoil I feel for all the characters. The inner monologues are long YES get over it people, you knew what you signed up for at this point BUT ITS IMPORTANT! It’s important to understand the minds of each character. To understand their behaviors.
Ella has been through hell. Literal fucking hell and she is fighting left right and center. She stood her ground.
The cliffhanger was 😨😨😨
Though I expected that she had to be apart of some sort of French dissent just bc she went on a rant with Spanish and French.
Anyways, it’s gripping. I will be reading the next book NEOW

A much anticipated book 3 of the Los Diablos Syndicate, Resurrect is Beautiful, tragic, and powerful, Still Beating is a heart-wrenching tale that will hold you captive from the first opening sentence till the last. Prepare for a sleepless night with this unputdownable dark romance. Overflowing with angst, steam and twists, Bex Dawn weaves a dark complex web that will keep you intrigued and hoping to see more of Ella and her fine as F**k men. The cherry on top? It’s one of her best dark romance books to date.
Love this series. Hot hot and OMG hot. I’m really not liking to have to wait until flipping SEPTEMBER to read the next book. I’m gonn go crazy. This is why I try not to read series until they are all out because it drives me nuts! Well guess I’ll have some good dreams tonight!
Besides the hot factor this book does have lots of the heavy stuff. Made me want to cry for the Isabella and even the guys!
So yes read the book read them all and suffer with me until the next one comes out
Bex just keeps getting better and better and this book shows her growth as a writer. The bits of banters and laughs, the growth of characters, the drama, the excitement. This is one of my favourites. Ella is growing and learning and her journey is one of my favourites to date. Her relationships are growing and evolving and the way she’s making Nyx work is everything. Plus Hunter! That cliffhanger was rough and we will all collectively be waiting until book 4/5 are out!
After the cliffhanger from book 2, I couldn't wait to get my hands on book 3. The whole group of guys have come together (begrudgingly for some) to help Ella. She continues to get stronger and fight back, but there are definitely times I want to shake her and make her spill the beans on her past! Let's share the burden!
Also do we think certain someones are actually related?! If you know you know.
Best line of the book "We look like the Backstreet Boys, don't we?" (still laughing)
I'm gonna need book 4 like now. I do love that the foreshadowing in the prior books came to light. The author did a great job on the characters and their relationships and how it changed over the course of the series so far. I feel like we got way more of Maddox when I feel like this book should have been more about Nyx, Stone and Hunter buttttttt we still see amazing stories develop with them all. This book was rough with the trauma. Please read your triggers. I can't wait to read the next one!
I’ve spent the last week and a half reading this series and omg this has to be one of the best rh I have ever read. The dark romance aspect of this book/series is all I could ask for and more. The plot was such a fresh take and the characters have amazing development through out the series. I adore that Ella the fmc was written as such a strong character and her men were just so delicious I couldn’t put this down.
This is such a great series. I hate the last one (I'm assuming) is a year away. I was glad that Hunter was part of it. Their story is so horrifying. And heartbreaking and I hope it's not the end for them. I dobt know if I could handle that and I think Stone and Hunter are brothers. Anyway I can't wait for the next one. This author did a fantastic job. Please give it a chance
