A few months before her wedding, Isa Lavender always knew what she wanted. She was happy with no doubts and ready for a quick I do, good cake, and life with her green-eyed groom. When tasked to interview renowned chef Elijah Stone on his rags-to-riches story, she meets a man who is dismissive, overcritical, and still tormented by the demons of his past. He’s nothing like the charismatic, talented man she’d read about online. Naturally, everything about the conceited cook rubs her the wrong way. But the more time Isa spends with him, she’s surprised to find herself falling for the suave Seven Pines’ hometown hero.
Chef Elijah Stone is at the apex of his career. He’s only in Seven Pines for a short while upon the grand opening of his new restaurant in an up-and-coming section of the city that raised him. Whenthe well-read writer shows up at his hotel room asking too many questions, he quickly becomes unable to resist Isa's captivating aesthetic, charm, and chestnut brown eyes. Soon, the heat is on, both in and out of the kitchen. He finds himself exposing more layers and revealing elaborate details of his past with each exchange. Isa quickly learns there is more to his story than the clickbait online.
Their connection is like nothing she’s ever felt before, but it’s clear they are from two different worlds. When Elijah leaves to embark on his next endeavor, what happens when she’s left with more than just the steamy memories of the nights she spent in his arms?
Something New is the final book in the Potomac Falls series.
I liked this story the best out of this series. Isa did not deserve the BS from her mother and Axel's betrayal. How did Axel think his lame excuse for his behavior would make a difference to Isa? She had a real man now with Elijah in her life. Her mom's situation was terrible. I hated that Isa and Iman's constant sorrow crept back too often. Maybe even their mom's karma/ answer. In the end, both Isa and Imani got their happily for now story.
I really liked this one- getting the backstory on Isa and Elijah was much needed. Isa wasn’t perfect but she was definitely settling with Axel. Elijah was misunderstood but I loved the chemistry by him and Isa. I didn’t see the plot twist happening but it made me feel bad for Isa and Imani. Overall, this was good and I enjoyed it.
I feel like this serious waa a real let down. An abrubt death, somebody get engaged after spending what a week total together, someone ends up with a brain tumor and that explains their actions and fails to mention the death of his love. As soon as Imani finds out about Bleu she forgets all about her mom... It was just a total disappointment.
This was a messy series...IYKYK but the finale wraps up nicely...thank goodness. While others may frown at the coupling of Elijah and Isa, to me they had a vibe that was undeniable. To hear Elijah's heartbreaking story and how Isa connected with him in her consolation, I knew that something was blooming. And with the foreknowledge we had as readers, the timing worked. I wasn't saddened by one character's departure unfortunately. Yet it brought the couples we wanted together. Imani was still too much but Bleu shined through. Axel's lame excuse for his behavior could have been saved even though I would have loved to have his POV after him discovering that Isa was pregnant and the wedding not happening.
Yes! Was so looking forward to this wrap up, as all these Lavender women were a handful! Especially Isa! Girl, how did you manage to slide this man into your life, with a whole fiance at home? 👀 Isa meeting Elijah was not pretty, but he did put forth the effort to make it up to her, after his awful behavior! They just clicked! Isa couldn't understand how and why she connected with this man so quickly, and knew him better than Axel, who she is to marry! I shook my head at Imani, cause she was just doing too much! I get that you are scared, but honey Bleu is it for you! Gone mess around and lose that good man! Ughh.... Mama Lavender just thought apologizing over and over was going to repair the relationship with her daughter? Isa was like, nope you gotta do better than that! 😂 Then all the ish starts to hit the fan! I just wish that Isa had talked to Elijah right when she found out, as the really had something! She knew deep down that Axel wasn't it! Imani and this ignoring of Bleu really got on my nerves, when she knew she wanted that man! The situation with Mama Lavender surprised me, but it shouldn't have as unfortunately this family has had to deal with lots of grief! 💔 The silver lining in all of it, is that what occured brought the couples back together again! Enjoyed this series! 👍👍👍
DID NOT SEE THE ENDING!!!!!! WHEW!!!! Miss Hall, you know how to write some stories hunny. This was the perfect ending to this series. Despite the hurt, the betrayal, the lies, the steamy steamy sex and the surprises, I’m glad Isa got her HEA. I’m happy Imani came to her senses cause she was pissing me off. Chef bae came to his senses thank God cause for a min there I thought he was gonna be with the tom foolery. We already knew how Bleu was coming behind Imani and I loved how he gave her time and space to realize, he was who she wanted and needed. I thought it would just be a fight and maybe some distance between Isa and her mom so when everything went down at the end I was shocked because I know deep down it hurt both Isa and Imani. Thank you for another dope series featuring Potomac Falls. Thank you for giving Imani and Isa the love they needed and took so long to get.
Hmmm 🤔💭, I’m conflicted on the final book of this Potomac Falls series. “Something New: Potomac Falls - Book 3” was a good read. I’m glad both Isa & Imani both got a semblance of a HEA even in the midst of death there’s hope, new life, new perspectives & new opportunities. However, Axel rightly admitted he’s a trifling coward. Please, don’t deflect your reckless choices to a physiological illness. Nope 🙂↔️ what a poor excuse! That tumor had no effects on your career, traveling, coordination, cognitive, psychological, emotional, motor or social skills etc. …still casting dispersion on reality. Maybe those lies & distance abroad will help you sleep better 🤷🏾♀️🥴‼️
This was a good series and I loved how each book was connected. Had my attention from beginning to end. Sometimes things happen for a reason and these characters had to go through heartbreak and scandalous revelations to find that something new. I'm glad Isa decided to take Elijah up on his offer and Imani put her fear aside to give Bleu a chance. I believe it was Karma that caused the demise of Mrs Lavendar and Axel's health issue. There was no justifying their actions. Overall, a good ending for thise Lavender sisters.
The longest of the three, and definitely felt like the roller coaster ride finale it was meant to be. So much happened, and it wrapped everything up in a satisfying way.
That said, I wish we’d gotten more from Axel; it was like he just forgot about Momma, and that thread felt left hanging. Some parts were sad, too, those “what ifs” that you know the characters will carry forever based on how things went down.
But at the end of it all, I’m happy we still got some HEA in the midst of the mess and emotions. A solid ending to the Potomac Falls series.
I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this series and can see it as a Netflix series! The writer wrote the best characters and took the reader through so many of life issues. I read the books back to back until I finished. I was so afraid I would be left with a cliff hanger.
This is a must read full of sorrow, love, twist and turns I needed popcorn and wine🤭I read tons of books and this author is now one of my favorites ❤️
I'm okay with this ending. I feel like even though the mom died and I should feel some type of way I don't care... She was wrong for what she did so I however I do understand how her daughter's fault bout her dying I on the other hand did not give a rats patootie... It's just little brain tumor still don't care.. I'm happy we got our happily ever after with Imani and bleu.... And Isa and Elijah
Book three was good! It wrapped up nicely with some huge surprises. My lord I was not expecting that accident. No spoilers from me just know it’s heavy. One thing that will always be complicated in life is Mothers and Daughters. So much was left unsaid before tragedy strikes and time waits for no one. Axel came in created a mess and then slinked away. His letter did not move me at the end. The voice ensemble for this narration was amazing. I truly enjoyed everyone.
ALTHOUGH I’M HAPPY AXEL FINALLY DECIDED TO GET THE HELP THAT HE NEEDED, HE COULD’VE KEPT THAT LETTER TO HIMSELF 🙄
THEIR MOM WAS STILL TRIFLING ASF AND WAS STILL TRYING TO RUN ISA’S LIFE BY FORCING HER TO TALK TO HER. HER ENDING WAS SAD. THE WAS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY THEY MADE THE LAW TO NOT TEXT/TALK AND DRIVE😔
IMANI FINALLY GOT HER ISH TOGETHER AFTER LOSING HER MOM WHICH ALMOST COST BLEU HIS LIFE. I WAS SO HAPPY THEY FINALLY GOT THEIR HEA AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS OF BEING IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER AND NOT ACTING ON IT. HE TRULY LOVED HER 🫶🏽
ELIJAH & ISA❤️🔥. THESE TWO TRIED SO HARD TO FIGHT THE LOVE THAT THEY HAD GOT EACH OTHER. I UNDERSTOOD ELI’S APPREHENSION AFTER FINDING OUT WHAT ISA PLANS WERE, BUT WHEN SHE CALLED HIM ABOUT HER MOM THAT MAN DROPPED EVERYTHING TO BE THERE FOR HER🥰. HE REALIZED THAT SHE WASN’T LIKE ALL THE OTHER JOURNALISTS AND SHE REALIZED SHE NEEDED THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS AND HE PROVIDED THAT FOR HER🥰
This book ended with happy endings! Despite the tragedy each sister suffered they found happiness in the end! losing another family member opened up raw wounds for each sister but being together helped them heal along with their lovers! Elijah and Isa shared losing members but discovered they had much more in common! Great book!
That’s all I could say when I finished reading this last book in the Potomac Falls series. I have no words…..all the books were great! I’m glad Elijah didn’t stay mad at Isa. I think their story was my favorite. Isa saw behind Elijah pain and demons and saw the man who needed to be loved.
This was a great series! If stressed out was a person it would be me. This series and the drama took me through it but it wrapped up perfectly! Each book kept you wanting more and I’m so glad it ended the way it was. Kudos to this NTMA! Awesome job!
It sad that Isa and Imani didn't get a chance to make-up with their Mother. Elijah really hard a rough childhood, glad he overcame it. Bleu loved him some Imani. Finally she got her act together ❤.
This series was great. I loved the play on words from each title because this book was something new that both girls needed in their lives. Sometimes people have to go through something to get something. Love it!!
So, I loved Isa and Eli story. I won't speak ill of the dead so I will leave that as that. Axel can keep that foolishness, I'm glad Isa wasn't moved ( neither was I). Imani was kinda annoy but she had been that since book 1 but glad she came up her senses. Good ending 👏🏿
Okay I was wondering how this was going to get wrapped up and boy did it!! The ending felt a bit rushed but they overcame and got their HEA’s not everyone but some!!
This series was bananas. I'm talking about everyone you think you have a clue of what's going on. Here she come like here hold this plot twist, plot twist, plot twist again. And this last book had me just like! Ok Isa I see you. Bleu and Eli is both bae! Outstanding job
This book was a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Love the characters, love the surprise twists and turns that this book has taken. It an absolute pleasure reading your books 🥰.
I’m so glad Eli and Isa finally got together and had a baby together . That was sad about how Jeanine passed away which made me cry a little . I’m so glad Blu and Imani tied the knot . Great series ❤️
This series was an emotional rollercoaster. It was a bit like a soap opera in some places. But Eli was seeexy. And Wesleigh’s narration was on point as always. I couldn’t finish book one and I didn’t read book two, but book 3 was great.
This was super sad and super cute. A great ending to a 3 book series. K.L. Hall you did it again! You've officially made a die hard fan out of me. I love everything I've read by you so far.
Damn that was perfect. K.L. Hall even got some tears out of me. I did not see that twist coming. I loved everything about this book. Isa and Elijah's backstory and the rest of Imani and Bleu's story. They both got their HEAs.
