Steve Perry really said it best: “Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world.”
Baby Payne is a woman on a mission to shake off the reputation she grew up with in Red River, Texas (population 762). Twenty-eight years old and still dragging around her V-card, there’s no time like the present to change how everyone sees her.
And how she sees herself.
Small town gossip, some childhood trauma, and old enemies try to get in the way as Baby works to become the woman she knows she’s meant to be.
Even if it means leaving her crush on Stone, the town's silver fox, in the dust.
Age-Gap Romance A Journey of self-discovery Small Town Romance Sarge the Goodest Boy
"Baby-he bothers you again. I wanna know about it. Or better yet, let Sarge chew his nut$ off."
I don't know how I missed the first books in this series but I am ready to go binge them. This story right here completely grabbed my attention and I hated when I had to stop reading to take care of real life stuff.
Baby and the entire situation that is her life made me so angry on her behalf all while she is just trying to do what is best for her. I like how she can handle herself with the a-holes in her town and loved it even more when Stone always shows up at the perfect moments.
Stone and Baby are such a great slow burn couple. The tension between them is scorching and I loved Baby's internal debates about him any time he was around. The time comes when they just cannot fight the attraction any longer. She deserves every single ounce of love Stone gives her.
This is my first Noelle O'Ryan book and I adored her writing style. Her heroine is strong minded and doesn't give up on life...just focuses on becoming a new person. Stone is a such a laid back person trying to do the right thing and I am so glad he gave in! He is perfect for Baby!!!!
I have to say I’m not a fan of single POV stories, but I really did fully enjoy Stone and Baby’s story. Whilst this story is told from Baby’s POV, you still ‘see’ Stone and feel his emotions and thought processes.
Noelle O’Ryan is a new author to me, so I can’t speak for other books, but this one was brilliant!! I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and the way Baby’s mine works.
Noelle has created a brilliant world that just compelled you to keep reading and envelope yourself in its welcoming warmth.
Baby is such a strong badass character. She has experienced a lot of pain and negativity in her life, which has shaped the way in which she sees herself.
All I wanted to do was hug this woman and tell her how awe-inspiring she is. To face everything she has and still be the beautiful soul she is, is so awesome. Facing everything head on, determined to not break despite what obstacles she faces is beautiful to watch.
Stone is a total Alpha male with a protective streak a mile wide. You can clearly see his feelings for Baby from his actions and demeanour.
Watching these two characters come to life in full technicolour magic is spellbinding. Their journey to their own HEA is heartwarming.
I thoroughly enjoyed the depth that was beautifully enhanced by the addition of Rusty, Cal and Carl. And, for me, the addition of Sarge was most definitely the icing of the cake. I love when writers bring pets into their stories, the unconditional love bounces from the pages.
This is a brilliant and beautiful read. I will definitely be purchasing more books of Noelle O’Ryan’s. They are addictive, compelling, funny, heart warming. I could easily picture myself walking besides these characters and having a vested interest in the paths they take.
Noelle O’Ryan continues to bring the snark and sass, with the snortlaughs and steam, in Third Wheel, the fourth installment in her Accidentally Yours series. Don’t be fooled by the humor Noelle is known for, though. This book is heartfelt and emotionally intense as well. Plus, awesome aging German Shepherd, Sarge.
O’Ryan has a wonderful knack for creating heroines readers will want to hug, hang out with, and stand up for. Strong and independent, but with a penchant for self-deprecating humor and situationally relevant insecurities, Baby is a beautiful example of how a well-developed character can quickly work their way into a reader’s heart. And Stone, well, he’s the cinnamon roll hero every romance reader loves to love. Together, they’re the perfect age gap romance in a small town that thinks they know it all, but really doesn’t know much of anything.
O’Ryan’s pacing is perfect, engaging the reader and bringing them along for the ride through Baby’s POV, employing beautifully descriptive phrasing and authentic dialogue to set the scene and immerse the reader in the action and emotions of the story. And when that twist hits, yeah, it hits hard.
Third Wheel can definitely be read as a standalone, but works beautifully within the series as well. And the little hints at a future book for two of the minor characters have me excited for more glimpses into Baby and Stone’s life together as well as the lives of their friends and family.
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If ever I need a feel good, steamy romance that’ll make me laugh and blush, I can always count on Noelle O’Ryan to deliver! I absolutely love her stories, especially when it comes to her heroines! They’re some of the most true-to-life heroines that I have ever read (or ever aspire to be!) They’re snarky and clumsy, but they know their worth and don’t settle for less!
Baby Payne is a perfect example of this heroine! She’s been dealt a poor hand from life, including but not limited to: a small town that loves to gossip about her, and a crush on a man that thinks he’s too old for her. But no matter what life throws at her, Baby continually brushes herself off and keeps moving forward.
To find about more about Baby’s story and what happens with her crush, you can read the book tomorrow (07/15) either by buying the book or reading it on KU!
"My name is Baby Girl Payne." Baby has spent her whole life listening to rumors and being bullied in her small hometown. Her mother died at childbirth and her grandpa didn't like having the reminder of the daughter he lost around. She's now 29 years old, still holding her V-card, and is determined to change into a new and improved version of herself.
Baby has had a crush on Stone for a long as she can remember but she relieves he deserves someone who has more to offer him. Stone seems to always be there when she needs him, quietly stepping in and helping her. This friendship slowly grows into hot, steamy. Stone is the kind of man we all love; sexy, kind and good to the ones he cares for.
This is a story of 2 hard working, ordinary people, who find love and build their future together. This is the first book I’ve read by Noelle O’Ryan, and I’m looking forward to reading her backlist.
The latest installment in Noelle O'Ryan's "Accidentally Yours" series, "Third Wheel" focuses on Baby Girl (you'll need to read the book to find out how she got that name) and her quest to find out who she is. She's lived in a town all her life and used as a doormat by the townspeople for reasons beyond her control. Putting up walls to protect her fragile ego, Baby Girl uses words to deflect and keep herself contained. Stone Medina is an older man on whom Baby Girl crushes. He holds himself back for unknown reasons but still manages to find himself involved in some of Baby Girl's most frustrating or embarrassing moments.
O'Ryan is a new author for me. I found her writing style to be refreshing; she tells a story well and engages the reader in wanting to know more about secondary characters mentioned in addition to the book's focused couple. Nicely done.
Third Wheel was my first read from author Noelle O’Ryan. It will not be my last. I found O’Ryan’s writing style to be relaxed, fun, and engaging and her characters believable and intriguing.
I loved Baby’s resilience and was pleased that O’Ryan allowed this strong character to expose her vulnerability without losing her core identity. Stone, well, who doesn’t love an older protective hottie? Their story takes a few turns on the way to their HEA, but they get there in the end. I recommend this story to readers who don’t want to take their romance too seriously, Baby, Stone, and their friends, remind me of people I know in real life, flaws and all.
I was able to read this book as a part of an ARC team. It was my first book by this author and I can tell you that I LOVED it. I really enjoyed the characters and how the story flowed. This is the 4th in a series which I have not read, but I don’t feel like I missed anything. It is well written and I found myself rooting for the characters and their relationship. 5/5 recommend and I will now go back and read all of the others in the series.
Ms. O’Ryan books aren’t new to me and when I was asked to be part of her arc team, I couldn’t resist. This storyline was my favorite, Baby and Stone are my favorite couple based on her previous books. Baby is strong willed, knows what she wants and doesn’t take no for a answer but Stone is exactly what she needs and when they finally do feel the attraction to each other, it’s explosive. Definitely recommend this book.
I love small town romances and this did not disappoint. This was my first Noelle O'Ryan book but definitely will not be my last. I loved the humor in the book and Baby was an amazing, strong and independent heroine. Stone was the perfect hero for her. Now I have to catch up on her other books!
Baby is a woman trapped in a small town with very few options. Now stuck on a crossroads she has to choose what her future holds or if she should just leave. There's an awesome amount of tension, humor and when it gets hot, it gets HOT.
First book I’ve read from this author. She definitely has great story telling genes. Book was a bit hard to get into but after the first few chapters I couldn’t put it down!
I really don’t know what to say here. Just making a note for myself. I really, really enjoyed this authors writing style. I love this particular trope as well. Just something about the characters didn’t jive with me. I kept feeling like I was missing something. Oh well. Will definitely try something from her again in the future.
