Monster girls, magic, slice of life moments, action and adventure, LitRPG elements, unconventional relationships, and explicit scenes. If you like those things, then you've come to the right place. I write harem novels for readers who love NSFW fantasy stories.

Some spoilers below.

A lot to unpack here. This is a nitpick, but it bothers me. The MC is supposed to be a marine, but he was an MP? WTF? Army has military police, the air force has air police, but navy and marines use shore patrol, NOT MPs. This basic faux pas means our author thought it would be cool if... and didn't do his research. And he managed to end up doing work for the CIA, too. Naturally, he's an alpha. But when he fights, he doesn't think very much; it's mostly physically slugging it out. A military cop would be more about fighting smart and dirty because the longer the fight goes on, the greater the chance that he might lose.

It bothered me that there were multiple gunshots at his residence, he lives in town, and no one called law enforcement. He has a broken front door, and the window in his bedroom is totally shattered. Not once is it mentioned again. Instead, he calmly has sex with the catgirl, he goes out with his home basically open to anyone who might wander by.

It also bothered me that in the MC's residence, in which his fictional town lies on the Arctic Circle, and he has a basement? Hello? Permafrost?

Speak with dead spell turns the dead into a zombie? How does that equate? Granted, it's the author's magic system, but that's a weird association. And a necromancer would find being able to raise an undead army surprisingly easy. But whatever.

During combat when encountering multiple opponents, the MC took them on one at a time, like in a poorly written PC game or a bad martial arts movie. And the villain likes to monologue.

While I don't normally like stories that change perspective, at least the author starts each chapter with a name in bold text, forewarning that this was going to happen. However, this was only used to switch to the fox-girl, to show the reader how hot she thought the MC was, and how turned on she was when the MC ordered her around. Frankly, if the story was going to be first person, it would have been stronger to keep it first person focused on the MC, and if he was going to shift the story to the damsel in distress, write that section in third person.

What did bother me was that toward the end of the story, phrases kept getting repeated, almost verbatim, from the sex scene to the end of the novel, which was about twenty pages (more? I can't check because the Kindle will erase everything I've written so far). Once might be used for emphasis. Multiple times shows lack of imagination, or perhaps a rush to publish? Not impressed, and because I've read other books by the author before, it makes me worried because this book was a lot rougher than his previous books. I'm willing to forgive a lot with unique characters, good plot, and/or good pacing. What this feels like is almost desperation, throwing as many tropes as possible to gain reader interest. Except we already know he's the foretold hero, and by the end of book 1, he has two of his six females but not much else. He has a lot of ground to make up, but his thoughts keep gravitating to spending time screwing the nubile, unskilled furries in his harem. And that's fine, but the bad guys know where he lives, and there is a lot that he is ignorant about. Worse, he is supposed to be a mage and doesn't know a single spell yet.

I'm giving this 4 stars as a benefit of the doubt; I already own book 2 in the series and I expect a lot of improvement in the next volume.

Why...why..why

Few things disappoint me more than calling a Marine a soldier. Marines are Marines and Soldiers are Army. Why is that distinction so hard to understand. Its why there's separate commercials for the Marine Corps and the US Army. Its stated in the commercials for the last 40 freaking years the Few, the Proud, the Marines. Seriously the single mistake ruined this story for me to get something so simple so wrong in the first couple of pages

A fast fun read

Well this book for me was a fast read and I really had fun. I know that doesn't explain much but I go on to say I like the characters they're quirky and they're fun I wish they were a little bit more three-dimensional but so far I'm enjoying the. Hopefully in the next book will learn a little more about things and about our main characters. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

What a ride!

This is a fast paced book filled with action, adventure and more than a bit of spice! The book keeps you turning pages, as you learn about the world Jake finds himself immersed in. With a sexy cat shifter witch and a hot fox girl he saves from a mimic the action is heating up! I can't wait for the next book!

Hero of a different sort

So very interesting concept, well written and worth the read. MC character is actually very believable as well as easy to relate to. Supporting characters so far are whimsical and enjoyable as well. Can't wait for the next one.

Writing not worthy of even the amateur scene renders this novel unreadable. DNF @ 3%

What else is there left to say? Mr. Robert really needs to invest time in improving his craft and not publishing novels.

This was actively mid. It felt like he didn't know if it should have stats, then it decided it did. Nothing that happened felt like anybody planned anything, and I'm just glad it was so short that I finished it in a couple hours.
