She’s the one person who loved him, despite his flaws. Meeting Ivy was like sunlight breaking through his grey clouds. Gorgeous, confident and smart, standing next to her always made him feel like a superhero. Ivy was never shy about what she wanted in the bedroom. As they explored D/s together, Gabe took control of her orgasms, even as Ivy longed for their D/s to be more formal. As Ivy climbed the corporate ladder as a PR Executive, she wanted Gabe to be her soft place to land. She has to save him. Even if he hates her for it. When Ivy finds out Gabe is determined to take a job that could end him, she’s determined to stop him. Can their Love Flame Again? Gabe is crushed by Ivy’s interference and they part ways.
When Ivy shows up months later, he is still angry. She thinks what she did was right. Neither can see a way to work it out. If they could just keep their relationship between the sheets, everything would be fine.
*I received a copy of Flame Again by Raleigh Damson in exchange for an honest review* Raleigh reached out to me asking me if I would be interested in reading her book and leaving a review on it. I was working on several other books at the time but I love working with author’s and reviewing their books. I was able to read Flame Again which is book three in the Bandit Brother’s series and I am so happy I was able to learn about this story.
I have to say that this book was not what I was expecting. Sure, the book synopsis talks about the BDSM and D/s dynamics and what both characters are looking for. However, the cover of the book looks like your typical love and romance story. What I was not expecting was this story to be so personal and really showcase what it is like in long term relationships not just kink relationships.
Ivy is our Female Main Character (FMC) and Gabe is our Male Main Character (MMC). As the reader we are taken on a journey between these two characters as we see their relationship fall apart and how miscommunication can be the downfall for any couple if there is no trust or understanding.
This is an emotional book and this book focuses on the D/s relationship aspect between the main characters. If you are new to kink or unsure how you feel about a kink or fetish relationship/lifestyle this book could either be very interesting to you or could be very shocking. If you are unfamiliar with these relationships and lifestyles I would highly encourage the reader to go in with an open mind and really absorb what the characters are saying and you will have a clearer understanding of what is being said and what is not being said. As the reader we get to see the growth of both characters as the story progresses and ultimately see how their journey unfolds to a healthy and real place between them.
Flame Again is book three in the Bandit Brothers series but can be read as a standalone.
Ivy (no, not me, our lady-lead) is the quintessential boss babe. She’s in control of everything. Except for what happens in the bedroom. She shares a D/s relationship with her partner, Gabe, who is hesitant to carry their lifestyle into places other than the bedroom. We get to watch as their relationship disintegrates and is then reforged through their D/s bond.
I would love to get into more detail, but I do not want to ruin the emotional rollercoaster for anyone else joining me on this feels trip.
I have to start with the most obvious praise: this is the best thing Raleigh has written. The writing in this book was clean and a joy to read. The storytelling was magnificent. The character development and dialogue were polished. And most importantly, the characters felt real.
Congratulations on another stunning release, Raleigh! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
The third book in the Bandit Brothers series of stand-alone, Flame Again is an emotional read. Gabe and Ivy are the focus of this novel, and their journey towards a healthy relationship is rocky and real.
As with all the Bandit Brothers books, Damson does a masterful job of depicting how various couples blend their BDSM lifestyle and their day-to-day interactions.
Gabe and Ivy’s story is incredibly compelling, encouraging the reader to reflect on the pitfalls of miscommunication and how easy it can be for longer term relationships to become stagnant.
Flame Again is an excellent read, the characters are relatable and their growth throughout the novel is incredibly compelling. Oh, and the spice is phenomenal. As with all the Bandit Brothers books, this is an instabuy for me.
Loved this! Ivy and Gabe shows how much trust a couple needs in each other to make it work. Ivy does what her heart is telling her. But unfortunately when she does, it back fires. Gabe is learning to deal with the blows that life has thrown at him. His struggles may tear your heart out. Can he earn Ivy’s trust ? Can he learn to control his emotions? Read this to find out! Gabe may have some surprises for us all. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This books did not disappoint! I was living for the spice, the romance, the drama, the growth of Ivy and gabe, and seeing other characters from the other books! I am definitely hoping there will be more of the other bandit brothers!
Book three was so good! These characters evolved so greatly throughout the book, and even thru their struggles, they didn’t give up. I cannot wait for book four to see where all of these characters end up!
Good story about a couple who has strong chemistry but needs to work on their relationship. They have to learn to compromise and communicate. Steamy and realistic.
