Taylor Klein is tired of being an employee and is eager to be her own boss. Her family owns an estate that she wants to turn into a boutique hotel. Since she has little knowledge of running a hotel, she concocts a plan to get advice from Roman Scott.

Roman is an established hotelier and intrigued by Taylor's business plan and by Taylor herself. Soon though, Little Black Book is spreading secrets that Roman worked very hard to keep buried.

Insta-love is crazy to me, but Karen writes it well. They were both sweet and steamy together in this quick, fast paced read.

Series notes:
I really enjoyed Book 1, so I was super excited to get my hands on this one since there was a cliffhanger. Said cliffhanger is not fully resolved, so keep that in mind, but we've dived more into the mystery of who is behind it. Definitely not a standalone.

I missed the first book in this trilogy, but I was able to pick up the story fairly easily. Taylor Klein wants one thing from Roman Scott, his expertise in the hotel industry so she can turn her family’s summer estate into a boutique hotel. After paying a quarter of a million dollars for him at a bachelor auction, Roman agrees to see the estate and talk with her about her plans.

These two had some sizzling chemistry from the start but Taylor was determined to keep things all business. I had some issues with the fact she has absolutely no experience in the hotel/service industry but she’s tired of working for other people so with her daddy’s money she’s going to open a hotel. I appreciated that Roman listened to her and that he didn’t come in and try and take over, in fact he told her she needed to figure out her vision and they would work through it together.

There was a bit of a mystery going on in the area where the estate is located which cost them some time while they explored it to help her friends which threw in a bit of suspense for these two. I felt like the relationship moved way too quickly but I did like Roman and Taylor together.

Despite most of these characters being out of touch with how people really live, I still enjoyed the story and hey, I guess billionaires deserve love too!

Black Tie Bachelor Bid is the second book in Karen Booth's Little Black Book of Secrets series. The series focuses on three best friends who met each other while attending the Baldwell School for Girls in Central Connecticut. The series follows their lives and careers as they fall in love. However, there's someone who doesn't want them or any other affluential people to be happy and has made it their mission to embarrass and bring them down. The million-dollar question is who is behind the gossip site Little Black Book and why.

31-year-old Taylor Klein is like a leaf drifting through life. She's always falling for the wrong guys, the ones who choose to not put her first or protect her heart. While her friends are established in their careers, Taylor has made a career out of looking for a career. She has yet to find anything she can stick to for more than a few months. Her latest career idea is to turn her family's Connecticut vacation home into a boutique hotel. In order to do this, she feels she needs the help of Roman Scott who is one of the most creative and successful hotel owners in the world. The problem is that Roman has refused to meet with her or return any of her phone calls.

At the age of forty, Roman Scott has worked hard to become one of the best at what he does. His creativeness and eye for detail have made him a fortune in the hospitality industry. However, his dedication has come at a price. People view him as mysterious and closed off. It’s true that there isn’t much to learn about him through online research. And this is all by design. Roman isn’t comfortable being the center of attention or in the spotlight. He despises the media and people talking about him.

One of the only people who could get him to step into the spotlight is his sister-in-law Fiona. This is why he has reluctantly agreed to allow her to auction him off for one of her beloved charities. Roman never imagined that he would be at the center of a bidding war or that his would-be date would spend six figures for him. But that is exactly what happens. With the unwanted media attention, Taylor and Roman escape to her family’s Connecticut estate where she has every intention of picking his brain.

When I started reading Black Tie Bachelor Bid, I had a problem with Taylor and her not accepting people’s boundaries. She isn’t rude or dismissive. It’s more about her being excited and curious. She knows what she wants to do, but she wants Roman to tell her exactly what to do. Roman definitely sees potential in Taylor, but he refuses to hand feed her ideas. He wants her hotel to be hers and hers alone. These two are similar in so many ways. Each has sworn off relationships because they can’t trust their own judgment. Yet at the same time, they have this attraction and pull for the other that goes far beyond just the physical. They’re fun and caring. I loved that their families are extremely supportive of them. I also loved that their relationship was steady and straightforward. There is no black moment, where your heart breaks and you’re left wondering how they’re going to get back together. It just seemed real.

Of course, Little Black Book strikes again. Unfortunately, the result they were hoping for isn’t what they get. At least for me, some of my previous suspicions are confirmed. A major piece of the puzzle is revealed, and Taylor and her friends are closer to finding out who is behind the account. I can’t wait to read How to Fake a Wedding Date.

I was immediately captivated by the mystery of Little Black Book, and knew I needed to read the next in the series. I liked Taylor. My heart went out to her. She’s had terrible luck choosing trustworthy guys to fall in love with, and her track record with careers is almost as disappointing. I had a little tougher time connecting with Roman. It was easy to understand his reluctance to trust his heart to anyone else, but I couldn’t wrap my head around why he kept shouldering all the blame for what happened. I guess my vengeful spirit wasn’t accepting the burden of all that misplaced guilt. The physical chemistry between these two practically crackles off the page. I thought it was kind of cute how they kept trying, and failing, to resist the attraction. We still don’t have the answers to what’s the deal behind Little Black Book. I felt like that thread wasn’t as integral to the plot as it was in the previous book, and I had been hoping for more from it. But, because I’m still pretty desperate for answers, I can’t wait to get my hands on book three to find out the rest of the story.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book I have read by Karen and I look forward to reading many more.

I did not read the first book in this series and had no problem following along with the story. (I will definitely be reading the first book though, so I can learn more about these secrets that are being released.)

The relationship between Taylor & Roman was very well played out. The characters had great depth and amazing chemistry. I really liked Taylor's friends too.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a little scandal and mystery mixed in with your romance.

Book two in The Little Black Book of secrets brings Taylor and Roman's story. They have a hot and steamy connection but she's fighting it. The author does a great job building the story and pulling you in. I was glued to the pages right to the end. It's an entertaining story filled with emotion. It's well written with descriptive scenes and is a fantastic story. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This is the second book in the Little Black Book of Secrets Trilogy but can be read as a standalone. If you like Harlequin romances you'll love this book. You'll love Taylor and Roman's story. She's a wealthy socialite who wins him in a charity auction. She has no interest in winning his heart she just wants a chance to meet him since he was a recluse. She had plans to build a boutique hotel chain and wanted to pick his brain for advice. Their chemistry was explosive and things got testy once things got public. This was a good romance that was a fun read. I read an advance copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

Black Tie Bachelor Bid continues the Little Black Book of Secrets series (trilogy) with a story that captured my imagination from the start. Taylor and Roman might not have started their romance in anything near a typical way – but that never stopped them from falling into an unexpected future.

Both Taylor and Roman are hiding from their pasts, in different ways perhaps but it’s there in the background of any new relationship – that is if they’d allow themselves to fall ever again. When Taylor has the winning, heartstopping amount, bid on Roman in the bachelor auction he’s allowed himself to be involved with neither would have thought it would lead to a forever kind of love for them.

Taylor has sworn off men, she no longer trusts her judgment in the men she dates so she’s centering her focus on turning the family summer home into a unique boutique hotel and she desperately wants Roman’s opinion and help in accomplishing that goal. Roman lives to work, he no longer has to work to live for his wealth is more than adequate for any millionaire’s lifestyle. He hides behind his work, his elusiveness, and stepping out into the spotlight that Taylor’s very large bid could have been his worst nightmare if it weren’t for the attraction sizzling between them.

As they try to escape the media attention by heading to Taylor’s family’s Connecticut home these two unlikely lovers will discover that the past has to be dealt with… or someone else will bring it to the attention of their particular world. Little Black Book strikes again, and the result will be… not quite what they intended.

I enjoyed Black Tie Bachelor Bid on several levels. While it took me a few chapters to really warm up to Taylor, I loved that the person she is at her core was slowly revealed to us. The mystery continues in the background, and we won’t get the full reveal until Alex’s story is told. The sizzling chemistry between Roman and Taylor is undeniable, I love watching them work through issues, and find their way to their forever love. It’s because of emotional, intriguing stories like this that Karen Booth is a go-to author for me. I had fun back in this world and would definitely recommend this series to any reader who loves a good, believable romance, some sizzle, some mystery, and an all-around feel-good romance.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Taylor Klein needs business advice from Roman Scott. As his attempts to get a date with the millionaire businessman’s assistant were unsuccessful, she decides to attend a charity auction in which Roman will volunteer, and bid an obscene sum of money to go out with him. It’s here that the sexual attraction between them kicks in and leads them to have an affair. But what will happen when the very secretive Roman finds his well-protected privacy threatened thanks to Little Black Book, a social account that has been uncovering high society’s dark secrets?

I confess that I skipped a few pages because the story of Roman and Taylor did not completely convince me (not to say it bore me for a moment). Yes, it’s a Harlequin Desire book, who tends to have spicy romances and sexy scenes, but that doesn’t mean that the plot has to be based solely on sex for three quarters of the plot. This blurs the original subject. Not to mention the famous Little Black Book factor.

Speaking of this social account, both Taylor and her best friends Chloe and Alexandra are determined to uncover the identity of the person running the account that has high society concerned. The mission is joined by Chloe and Roman’s boyfriends; after all, none of them want the page to intrude on their lives, both public and private. This subplot is what saves the book: I found it interesting to see the different theories that are woven in the search, given by the three friends and the boyfriends of two of them.

Being the second book of the Little Black Book of Secrets trilogy, it fulfills its role well in continuing the search for the identity of the author of the account. However, the main story, Roman and Taylor’s, lacks credibility, although the last four chapters are fantastic and the ending is great. But four good chapters are not enough to make a story memorable, don’t you think?

In the second book in the Little Black Book series, the mystery of the social media account exposing high society secrets continues. This time Taylor takes the lead in the investigation. After a bachelor option bidding war over brilliant hotelier Roman Scott ends up in an obscenely high bid media attention falls on Roman and Taylor. The pair escape New York to Taylor’s family estate in Connecticut. An estate she wants to turn into a boutique hotel with Roman’s advice. Instead of picking Roman’s brain, they get roped into investigating abandoned mansions and dead a socialite’s past.

This book had an insta-love vibe going which really isn’t one of my favorite things. Almost immediately Taylor says that men in the past weren’t right because they weren’t Roman which is kind of a bold assumption to make for someone you’ve known only hours. While I understand it’s a well-loved trope, it just isn’t for me. Despite that, there were parts of their romance that shined and pretty much everything after Roman’s initial departure from Taylor and Connecticut was perfect.

Still, despite the first half of their romance not being a trope I enjoy, the presence of the Little Black Book mystery was enough to keep me going until the romance really heated up. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series to see how that mystery wraps up.

I received an ARC of this book but the thoughts are my own.

Karen Booth's Black Tie Bachelor Bid is a sexy and sparkling contemporary romance that is so much fun!

Socialite Taylor Klein has got great plans for the future. She wants to open her own boutique hotel and is determined to make her dream a reality. But achieving her objective is not easy and she needs help and Taylor knows the right person to give her the advice she needs: reclusive hotelier Roman Scott, who just happens to be participating in a bachelor auction.

Winning him in the auction will give Taylor a fantastic opportunity to pick Roman's brains and with romance off the cards, Taylor is certainly not looking for a relationship - until she meets Roman and sparks begin to fly! As Roman and Taylor begin waging a losing battle over the sizzling attraction that has flared between them, giving into their feelings for one another soon proves inevitable. But can their no-strings affair lead to something more permanent? Or is a future out of the question for the two of them?

Karen Booth's Black Tie Bachelor Bid sizzles with plenty of heat, intensity, wit and drama. The chemistry between Taylor and Roman is electric, the sensuality is red-hot and their love story is sure to touch readers' hearts.

A terrific contemporary romance from one of Harlequin Desire's brightest stars, Black Tie Bachelor Bid is a must-read by Karen Booth.

The plot thickens, and trust your gut.

Despite her history of broken relationships, Taylor is determined to find her niche and her passion, professionally and personally. Knowing that she doesn't know even half of what she needs to in order to convert a vacation 'cottage' into a boutique hotel, she finds someone with the expertise to set her on the right path. That is how she connects with Roman at the charity bachelor auction.

But the Little Black Book website hasn't closed up shop yet. Soon Taylor and Roman's relationship and their individual histories are splashed all over the internet scandal pages. Can they find out who is behind LBB and keep this fragile connection between them from being destroyed?

The LBB plot thread for the series is substantially advanced, even though it is very secondary to the primary plot threads for the hotel conversion and the romance. I am now impatiently waiting for Alex's story to complete the series and answer all the questions still left hanging. WHO is behind Lityle Black Book?! and why are they blackmailing those connected to the elite private boarding schools in New England?

I received an ARC copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.

Black Tie Bachelor Bid is the second in the Little Black Book of Secrets trilogy but can be read as a stand alone story. This is a story of not letting the past get in the way of finding happiness in the present. Roman Scott doesn't like the spotlight or the press but agrees to participate in his sister-in-law's bachelor auction for charity. He sees Taylor Klein sitting in the front row and has an instant spark of attraction. Taylor attends the auction with the sole purpose of winning a night with Roman, not for his sex appeal but for his business sense. Taylor and Roman have both been burned by love and neither is looking for a relationship but a spur of the moment trip to Taylor's family home in Connecticut to avoid the paparazzi have sparks flying. They both must overcome and let go of the past in order to have a future all while trying to discover who is making the secrets of the past come to life. This is a fun, quick read filled with a range of emotions and a steamy start of a happily ever after that will have you entertained until the last page.

This is Taylor and Roman’s story and what a story it is. This is a steamy read with secrets, romance, family, and sexy times. If any of those things appeal to you, you will enjoy this read. I recommend reading The Problem with Playboys first ( Chloe and Parker’s story), but if you haven’t you can still enjoy this book. Alex needs Roman’s opinion and ideas on her idea to convert her family’s summertime estate in Connecticut into a boutique hotel. She’s tried and failed to contact him through his office. As a last resort, she’s going to the charity auction and going to place the winning bid on him. Does she succeed? Of course. She gets him to agree to come to Connecticut, but he won’t tell her what to do, lol. Roman doesn’t do relationships and Taylor has sworn off men. Will they give in to their chemistry or will they stay strong? No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I can’t to read the next book to see if we learn who is behind Little Black Book.

Taylor hasn’t made the best choices when it comes to the men she allows in her life so her New Years Resolution was to focus on renovating her family estate into a charming hotel. She wants it to be a success so Roman, a businessman who owns a chain of hotels that she admires, isn’t returning her calls she decides to purchase his time through a Bachelor Auction.

Roman is a private man with a past he wants to keep secret. He is intrigued and attracted by the woman who won a date with him at the auction especially when he finds out why. What started out as a weekend to help her with her business venture turns into so much more but will the Little Black Book gossip site destroy what they have before it truly begins.

Although their romantic pasts are very different they have both been burnt by love in the past and are cautious. I enjoyed seeing them realize that what they have is special and that they can trust each other with their hearts.

Good addition to series 4*.
Well worth reading this book with familiar characters that appeared in previous episodes. This novel also had well-developed and described characters, a good writing style, at times witty and a slow-burn steamy romance. The protagonists, Taylor and Roman, both with emotional baggage are finally able to shed the weight that is pulling them down emotionally. The book ends on a happy for now note but it ended very suddenly. The running theme of the “Little Black Book” blackmailing author, spreading malicious, embarrassing and very private facts about a select group of people had only been partially touched on. I can only hope that in the story of Alex (I’m hoping) more will be revealed about the identity of the person responsible along with a good measure of just punishment. I am happy to recommend this book.

Little Black Book of Secrets gets more attention. We inch closer to answers as clues are revealed, a connection between pasts. No keys to who is behind this, though. It is Taylor’s turn to draw attention to the mysterious gossip.

Taylor is not having the best of luck with men and puts herself on a hiatus from them. She is also not sure what she wants to do with her life but has a great idea and support from her father. She just needs Roman help with her vision. It takes a bachelor auction to get his attention, though.

I like how the Roman and Taylor get thrown together and build upon their chemistry. I am looking forward to the next socialite targeted by the Little Black Book and seeing what more we can learn.

Thank you to the Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Black Tie Bachelor Bid by Karen Booth is the second book in Karen Booth’s Little Black Book of Secrets series. I loved this book from the start and couldn’t put it down. Who doesn’t love a good bachelor auction? Taylor Klein’s dream is to turn her family home into a hotel but she needs help to do it and Roman Scott is the answer to her prayers. She’s tried to reach him but can’t so the easiest way is to win him.

Of course, she’s the highest bidder and he swoops her off to her family estate where things move much faster than she ever intended. When both are met with texts from an unknown source, will things go awry? Will he help make her dreams come true or will his past haunt him?

Black Tie Bachelor Bid is a great addition to the series. I highly recommend it and the previous book. I received an advance copy which I chose to read and review. This is my honest opinion.

I found these two a bit insufferable. They were a bit ridiculous in their privilege. I liked them less and less as the book went on. Their dialog felt a bit stilted. And I got that they identified each other as sexy, but didn't feel the relationship vibe.

The story line wasn't bad. But Taylor only takes helicopters in an emergency but Roman doesn't drive because he has to work constantly. Except for the entirety of the book when he never works. And a side character spends chapters wandering around her million dollar apt complaining about not being able to feed her children. The kicker for me was when these two are perplexed that people who weren't raised in extreme wealth might do things for money.

This is book two in The Little Black Book of Secrets Series and it is Taylor and Roman's story. I absolutely loved this book as the characters and storyline was so engaging and pulled you in right from the first page and kept your attention throughout. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next between Taylor and Roman and I absolutely loved the outcome of there story as not only did they have great chemistry between them but they were also so perfect for each other and they definitely deserved a happy ending. Karen Booth is an amazing author and writer and her book's just get better and better and I can't wait to read more of her book's as they are definitely worth reading.

Taylor Klein and Roman Scott meet after Taylor pays an exorbitant amount at a charity bachelor bid, but her ‘only’ goal is to pick his brain for her new business venture.

Plans never go as anticipated and Taylor and Roman have an action packed, quick escape, insta-lust relationship. Until they don’t, spooked by the Little Black Book knowing secrets long buried from the past, Roman runs off and leaves Taylor to feel rejected again. Until he fears her safety is in danger.

I really liked Roman, he seems real, but shuttered. Taylor did everything she said she wouldn’t, but on the plus side, Taylor and Roman did have a real connection. I’m waiting patiently for the Little Black Book identity reveal.

Taylor has decided to turn one of her family's summer homes into a boutique hotel. However, given her poor work history, she wants to lean on Roman Scott for help in getting started. Since she hasn't been able to get a meeting with him, she bids on him at a charity auction. And then, circumstances get out of her control - his aversion to the press and her attraction to him. The latter is especially bothersome since she's sworn off men. There's plenty of sizzle between these two characters and Roman gets some good advice along the way from his older brother Derrick. There wasn't much about the Little Black Book though. I'm looking forward to that conclusion in the next book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Taylor bids and wins Roman in a bachelor auction so she can pick his brains. They run from the press and then go to her future hotel site. The attraction between them is very strong and soon they fall for each other. A side investigation into the little black book brings out threats and secrets revealed. The good thing at first they catch one of the agent behind the black book. However even better is the silver lining that came out once the story broke. The trust built between Taylor and Roman holds through the expose.

Temptation and scandal come knocking! The second book in the Little Black Book of Secrets series kicks off with a bang when two branches of the rich and famous collide and sparks ignite! I highly enjoyed Taylor and Roman, but wanted more development into family, pasts, their future, etc. for the story to feel more complete and rounded. I'm looking forward to more to come in the series.

Taylor is spoiled and entitled, but she's a sweetheart and hard not to like.

Roman is successful and secretive and peeling away all of his layers was very satisfying.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a whole lot of drama mixed into their romance.

Taylor has been hurt and is swearing off men. She decides to renovate her family's estate into a boutique hotel. So she tries to call Roman and get advice on her hotel, but he does not return her calls, he is a bit of a recluse. He is in a bachelor auction that Taylor wins. He is intrigued with her motives. He helps her and slowly they start to open up, then their secret is coming out. Will this be over before it starts? Who reveals all these secrets? What is Roman hiding? Questions that I needed answers to and got them when I read this entertaining story.

I received an ARC of Black Tie Bachelor Bid by Karen Booth in exchange for an honest review. This was the second book in The Little Black Book of Secrets and it was every enjoyable. When Taylor Klein wins a bid to spend the evening with Roman Scott she isn’t looking for a relationship. She is seeking information and guidance on starting her own Boutique Hotel since he is the Hotel expert. The chemistry that develops between them is very exciting to watch. As a relationship develops between them they know that they are but really looking for one and kind of go their own way. Throw in some threats from The Little Black Book and this is a must read to see where things go.

This book is about 2 people who have given up on love, until they meet each other.
Standalone with no cliffhangers, it does have a connecting problem that goes threw all 3 books in the series.
Taylor is struggling to find her nitch in life. She thinks changing one of her family estates into a hotel is what's she will thrive at. All she needs is help from the best hotelier around, Roman Scott.
Roman is talked into helping Taylor and gets so much more then he expected.
He tried to walk away, but can he stay away?
Good romance with a nice touch of mystery and heat.

This is the second story in Little Black Book of Secrets. Taylor and Roman are the main focus in this second story. Taylor needs business advice this is where Roman Scott comes in a man, she already admires and has her eye on. So, she goes to, and auction bid to get close to Roman there she bids quite bit of money on him and wins. When the couple travel to Connecticut the attraction between them explodes this also leads to Little Black Book resurfacing again. Thank you, Karen Booth for the ARC copy love the story can't wait for Alex's story!
