The only thing they have in common is they don’t believe in fated mates…
Not many PIs would investigate the disappearance of a former drug addict, but Iris was brought up in the system. She knows what it’s like to be alone. No pack. No home. These days, her wolf is virtually non-existent.
When she lands in Austin, Texas, she learns that more than one wolf shifter is missing. Another addict. The Moonmate ceremony is the perfect opportunity for her to gather intel—until she gets caught.
Eli is an alpha-in-waiting, but Iris isn’t fooled by his dreamy green eyes and British accent. She doesn’t date wolves and won’t be told what to do by the headstrong alpha.
Then another wolf goes missing. This time they’re someone important and Eli’s pack is worried. When Iris discovers something so big she knows she won’t be able to solve the case alone, she has no choice but to partner up with Eli.
But whoever is behind the disappearances has set their sights on Iris and Eli, and the clock is ticking. If they can't put their differences aside, they will run out of time...
This is a slow burn romance and a slow burn plot spanning the entire 3 book series. I liked the plot and characters, but thought the story telling was a little lacking in some places. The two “packs” were pretty much nonexistent. We heard mention of them a lot, but only ever saw 5 people from each pack, so it was hard to get any feel for them, which in turn made the alphas seem a little weak to me cause I never really saw them running their packs. That’s one of the ways I think the storytelling failed to deliver.
I do like that the two characters resisted each other for a while and the attraction was slow to build. Sometimes I need a break from the non-reality of instant fated mates. Both of these characters had pretty bad childhoods, and sometimes the author seemed to rely on that a bit too much whenever the character acted like an ass. It excused their behavior too often.
That said, I still enjoyed the book enough to give it four stars. Just go into it knowing it’s not the most stellar of storytelling and enjoy the ride.
The plot and action moved along at a good pace to hold my attention and I loved the little girl that comes along in later books.
This series is a sequel to an earlier series of this author which I haven’t read. There were some casual references to past events and you could tell that the main character’s brother was the star of that other series. But I had no problem reading this without having read the other books. It didn’t effect this series.
3.75 Stars - Oh man, that ending! Quite the cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more...
Resisting the Alpha is a story about a private investigator, Iris and her missing person's case. Along the way she meets Eli, and they end up working together. I really liked Iris. She's tough and intelligent with a good heart, though she keeps it shielded. It took me awhile to warm up to the hero, Eli. He was a jerk to Iris in the beginning. Though to be fair, she wasn't nice to him either. but I felt like he was the aggressor and the instigator. Once they finally talked some things out and started working together on the missing persons case, it got better. And Eli got much more likable. He definitely won me over.
I quite liked Resisting the Alpha. The mystery is interesting and the romance slowly building. I look forward to the next book.

Oh my goodness. I finished this book in less than two days. I was enthralled from the first chapter. When it ended, I wanted more! I am so glad there was a second book, because I was so upset on how it ended! If you like shifter romances, definitely pick this one up!
The writing is poor, the plot is not well-conceived, and the characters…One did her qualifications for becoming an nationally licensed private investigator while she was a foster child in high school and the other is an alpha-prince billionaire.
Mystery and danger is the theme of this book, while love is on a slow burn in the background. When she was 10, Iris Walker was allowed to attend clan gatherings with her parents. She was so excited. But as the Alpha stepped forward, a shot rang out and he collapsed. More shots were fired as the pack scattered. Her best friend had been killed and her parents were not in sight as men chased the fleeing wolves. When a man would have grabbed her, her father suddenly appeared to attack him while her mother grabbed her and ran… until they shot her too. A horrible pain erupted as something hit her chest and she collapsed. The last thing she saw as the man bent over and shook her was a silhouette of a blackbird.
Now Iris is a Private Investigator. In the early morning, a former client called her in a panic. Demi said her sister was missing and the cops didn’t want to do anything since her sister was 19, used to run away as a teen, and had been a drug user now clean for 6 months. So Demi wanted Iris’ help finding her. Iris arrives in Austin, Texas, to meet with Demi. She discovers multiple wolf shifters have gone missing. Attending the Moonmate ceremony where everyone will be gathered and she can begin to investigate, an Alpha takes an interest in her. Eli hadn’t even wanted to attend, but his half-brother invited him so he grudgingly went. He absolutely didn’t believe in fated mates, so this was a waste of time. But he would make an appearance and leave.
When Iris realizes she will need help in her search, she finally partners with Eli when the daughter of a high-ranking pack member of the pack disappears. But this puts both Iris and Eli in danger as an enemy from her past may be involved and will want to finish the job and kill her.
I loved the way the author describes and expertly shows the reader the characters as they interact. Watching their behavior and thoughts, we immediately observe their personalities and feel like we truly do know them as real people, which takes us deeper in their lives. The story line moved smoothly and was well-paced, giving us tension or joy as we deftly move through the mystery. How does it all fit together? Grab your copy and find out.
Suspense, Drama, Intrigue … What and Who Is Project Night Moon?
Bio Weapons? Genetic Manipulation? Making Werewolves Killing Machines? At Risk Werewolves Disappearing ✔️
It was all part of a secret operation …. Project Night Moon. It was a human operation but humans were not aware of werewolves existence. Who could be selling them out? And how could so many werewolves turn up missing and nothing be done about it?
Iris knows firsthand the pain of losing it all. At 11 years old her entire pack was wiped out leaving only her laying on the ground, left for dead. That attack changed her entire life. She was shot with silver but alive, barely… and now she wears a pacemaker. But that’s not all she suffered., with family and friends now dead, Iris was placed in foster care…. with humans. She was abused, bullied and almost lost her wolf since she had to suppress it with nothing but humans around.
Now in her twenties, she is a private detective searching for a client’s sister who suddenly went missing. She was from the Silverstreak Pack where there are two missing wolves. She teams up with Eli, an alpha from London who is visiting his half brother Remus, alpha of Silverstreak. There are a lot of dead ends but one thing is for certain, it does’t end with kidnappings, those only are the beginning. There is lots of danger that is raw with emotion and second guessing. Will Iris find the Project Night Moon echelon or will they find her? Can Eli help her before before the worst can happen… Before it’s too late?
Was Project Night Moon involved in the ki11ing off of Iris’ childhood pack? All will be answered in the followup of this series.

Before you read any further, it is helpful to know that this series takes place after the "Chosen by the Alpha" series (Alpha's betrayal being the first book there). It's not mandatory to have read that series first, but you might want to, as there will be some crossover in this series. With that said... on with the show, erm, review!
Character development: Iris, our heroine of the story, is a private investigator. She pretty much lives out of her car and goes where her clients need her. This time the sister of a good client goes missing, and so the search begins. Eli, an alpha from across the pond, is in Austin to put down a chapter of their financial firm. They meet at a Moonmate, and well, let's say they both don't believe in fated mates and deny it as hard as possible :D
Pacing and flow: The flow was really nice in this instalment, though I have to say it felt a bit slow :( It got better towards the end, but it took a while.
The book: The book was well written with no (noticeable) errors. There is some sexual content (if that is important to you). I would rate it 🌶️🌶️ out of 5. It has xx pages, spread over 35 chapters, with points of view of both Iris and Eli. Warning: it does end on a cliffhanger!
Final thoughts: I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and I'm a bit on the fence about this one. While it kept me reasonably entertained, I felt it was a bit too slow to keep my attention fully. I am, however, checking the first series out to see if that gets me going in time for book number 2 :) If you like urban fantasy with a mystery and a touch of romance? Pick up a sample chapter and see if it's something for you!
I liked this story, it’s well written and entertaining and the interactions between the characters is believable and realistic.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Great start to the series. We are introduced to Eli and Iris. Eli is currently in Austin, TX to keep an eye on his company that is opening up in North America and to get to know his half-brother Remus a little better. Eli seems to be a little immature at times, but also seems to want to make himself better so his father will stop thinking of him as a little pup. Iris is a lone wolf without a pack since she was 11 years old. Her whole pack was killed, and she only just survived. She is a private investigator who is feisty, strong and very independent. Iris just happens to be in Austin looking for the sister (a wolf shifter) of an old client of hers, once the sister is told there is nothing they (police and the Elders) can do. Iris runs into Eli at the Moonmate Ceremony, and she is very quick to shut things down with Eli. Eli is not use to being rejected, so he is a little mad!
As Iris investigates, she finds there are more shifters missing and will stop at nothing to find them. Iris and Eli meet up again and decide to work together. They start to share with each other and learn a little more about each other. What happens though when things get a little too close? Secrets, deception, passion, chemistry, mystery, suspense, and intrigue are just a few words to describe this story. Can’t wait to see what happens as this leaves off on a cliffhanger! This was ok. The plot has a lot of potential but I’m just not sure why I feel we haven’t had enough in this book.
I found Eli to be a bit of a moody bastard, he acts like a spoilt child but he is 25. I understand he had a hard childhood but god the author made him out too be a whiney little kid rather than an alpha in waiting.
He definitely had some character development but I don’t think it was enough.
Iris is quite cool and her being a PI is interesting because obviously it’s not a typical shifter job but there is nothing Normal about her.
The smut is practically non existent and the only time they are together is in the last 10% of the book and it’s not in great detail. Not a deal breaker but I prefer a bit more spice.
The ending was good and left on a cliffhanger which will obviously be picked up in book 2.
I’ll continue the series because it is free on KU but it won’t be a series I come back to time and time again
Iris has been alone ever since her whole pack was killed, she had been left for dead. Had to have a pacemaker put in after the silver bullet was taken out near heart. After foster care she became a private detective and has solved all of the cases he took. Was asked to find a sister of an ex client that went missing but found a lot more wolves were missing. Eli and his father came from England to meet his half-brother, Eli had problems with his mom and choices that were made when he was young. Eli asked if he could help Iris on her case and was accepted, things were happening so his father and half-brother were helping also. One morning she was given an address and went there but was caught. Good book!.

Iris was a orphan whose entire family and pack had been murdered when she was eleven. She had been shot too and had barely survived. She was put in the human foster care system because no one really knew about shifters. There was a lot about shifters and packs she didn't know because she hadn't lived in one for years but she was pretty sure "fated mates" didn't exist. Eli Archer was a proper English alpha although he didn't have a pack yet since his father was still alive and well. His older brother Remus Silverstreak was alpha in Austin Texas of the Silverstreak pack. The men had only known each other a little over a year. Remus Silverstreak didn't believe in fated mates anymore than Eli did. He had a mate and twin boys. Iris was in Austin as a private investor looking for a missing girl when she met Eli who she immediately disliked.
Indulged, insecure sole heir of an overprotective alpha, Eli Archer has more than enough issues with his father and newly discovered brother. When PI Iris Walker gives him the brush-off at a multi-pack dance to help wolves meet their mates, that just one thing too many. Eli’s rude and has Iris thrown out of the party when he discovers her where she shouldn’t be.
Iris’ wolf has been suppressed so long its practically non-existent but alone in the world, she works hard for her clients and yea she was searching for clues but no way is she gonna tell alpha boy. After a rough start the pair begin to work together and find Iris isn’t working a run of the mill missing shifter case and the bottom of this sink hole has yet to be exposed. Rating: 4.5stars
Oooooooh, that cliffhanger though! This book is the perfect mystery, wrapped in layers and layers of “who dunnit?” & a gorgeous little slow burning romance. So good, could not put it down and needed to finish it in 1 sitting. Eli & Iris are wonderfully fleshed out characters with complex backstories that are easy to follow and lots of “what if’s” for the next book, for which I cannot wait.
Read this if you’re a fan of slow burners, fated mates, shifters & a belter mystery!! Highly recommend, such a lush read, you will not be disappointed.

I think I only panted after this so hard because it’s an alpha wolf and detective starting off on the wrong foot. The mystery is a little “huh” and seems very serious. Makes me wonder how they’re gonna handle that. I like Iris’ work ethics even if she runs herself down at times. Their prejudices against each other is pretty entertaining but I always love watching “enemies” relent. The switch was kinda smooth. The other people they interacted with were ok. There’s some serious badness going on with Eli’s stepdad, it feels like, and I also hope that gets brought to light in the next book.
I love how this is written as two first-person narratives, switching between the two main characters. Rather than creating hyper-sexual protagonists, the author chose to write the main characters as two ordinary people (albeit shifters) who have jobs and are socially awkward. I also like the way that medical issues (physical and mental) were written as circumstances to be dealt with as part of life, rather than seen as obstacles to overcome. The book ends abruptly, but is continued in the next book in the series.

Not for me. If you do not like the ML and FL, the book is just not for you. The title is wrong, I can resist the Alpha Eli because he is not an Alpha, he's a Beta and more of a adolescent girl clique buddy than a dominant, aggressive lead. Iris is annoying as hell and falls under the category TSTL. I am thankful that I even finished the book, but I will admit I skimmed just to see if Eli or Iris would get better. Sadly no. Another reader may like this but I did not.

I took the entire book to get to anything serious and that was well, incredibly short. I like the storyline and the characters. Why these women shifters always feel the need to do everything on their own knowing someone is out to get them is beyond me. And why is it always after discovering the love of your life? Why can't you fall in love and want to. I mean really isn't that what we all want. Happiness, someone who takes us and l loves us for who we are inspite of our faults. I hope they can manage to reunite and have mad passionate reunion.
Probably closer to 3.5 stars. Good character development and backstories. Eli’s constant chip on his shoulder & jealousy attitude were too much; reminded me of an insecure teenager. I liked Iris. Easy and natural dialogue between characters. Book ends on a cliffhanger (not hook), leaving the big mystery of the kidnappings’ a mystery for book 2. (Sighing!….not a fan of cliffhangers- hooks are ok, but not the former)
Read this book in one go, couldn't put it down. My only complaint is I wish the author did more research with making Eli British, the character was using American terms for everything (for example using yard instead of garden). Eli didn't appear to be British at all (probably wouldn't notice unless you were British, which I am) it didn't stop my enjoyment of the book though. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Resisting the Alpha by Skye Wilson is the first book in the Entangled By The Alpha series. The story begins with Eli and Iris. Son of an Alpha and a private detective. The story unfolds is a brisk manner and has some interesting twists. No resolution but the promise of more adventure in the next book!.
This honest and voluntary review was made possible by reading a copy through Booksprout.
Iris is my new favorite shifter, I am dying to Kean more of her story and what happened in Alaska all those years ago, and Eli…man has some things to address but he clearly knows that Iris is his end all be all. I cannot wait to see them discover what’s actually going on with all the missing shifters and who exactly is involved
I really tried to get into this one, it is a slowww burn and being a trilogy I just don't know if I can be bothered tbh. The inner monologs of the characters make them seen a little immature also.
Still recommend others read bcoz my opinion won't be everyone's ♡
The story and characters are quite personable and interesting. They keep you on your toes through the entire book. I couldn’t stop reading! I just kept going on and on wondering what was going to happen next. So far in the series the adventure is just so compelling that I can hardly wait to get started on the next book.
Another great read by Skye Wilson. Eli is starting to grow on me. Iris needs to loosen up a little and give Eli a chance. I can’t wait to read the book to see what unfolds in this story.
I wss about 25% in, and there were so many unanswered questions that I thought I missed a previous book. The h/H weren't very likable at all. Missing shifters had promise as the storyline, but it dragged.
At first I was a little annoyed with Eli and Iris. They both Gabe issues from childhood but they both start working through the issues and become better people. They make a great team when Irises missing person case gets bigger than she thought.
