There is no worse betrayal than being kidnapped by the fae.
Or so Delphine thought.
She’s been torn from her home, forced to face the curse that plagued her since birth, and nearly murdered more times now than she can count—and yet that never broke her.
No, not even the princes, not even the kings of faerie, managed to do that.
But this, this most recent betrayal, just might.
And that will be their downfall.
The fae should have broken her before they made her stronger.
With little magic to aid her, Delph must find her way back to the human realm to reach her brother before the fae prince Nyx. She made the foolish mistake of trusting him, even for a moment, only for him to prove himself to be the beast she once believed all fae to be.
He’s dangerous, determined, willing to offer up anything in exchange for the magic that will save his dying kingdom. There’s one problem with that, however.
So is Delphine…and it’s not just a throne or even her brother she’s trying to save, it’s the whole human race.
The tides are turning between the realms. Loyalties are shifting. Fates aligning. Something changed the night the Starlight Fae witnessed one of their own die.
Nothing is certain except for this—Delphine is finally going back. She’s finally going home.
Only, she isn’t going back alone.
This time, she’ll have the royalty of not one, but two fae realms at her side.
For better or worse, the fate of all realms is about to be decided.
I really like the story but this author needs to either hire an editor or fire them and hire a new one. In fact I personally volunteer to be their editor. The story is good but it has missing words, misused words, mixed up tenses. Which pulls you out of the story. Also for a RH it is less smutty than i thought it would be.
Honestly… the plot points of this series could be so great. But where there could be more explanation and tension , scenes are rushed, and at other times it’s like “move on” already … spelling and grammar errors galore, the tense of the characters narrating changes mid page which is super frustrating… in book two there’s a moment where Elvie becomes Erin and in this book the gender of the Catsuga changes from him to her randomly. Whoever edited - well - didn’t. I tried. I persevered … but I’m done… won’t be reading any further.
i think this has to be officially where i stop with this series. the editing is horrendous, most notably in the last 25%. the story drags. at one point i had to put it down mid chapter to do something, and when i picked it back up i had no recollection of anything i read because it is also so… unmemorable? boring? idk. two 2 stars in a row and it’s just gotta be done for me here
wrapping up on this series and not continuing, lots and lots of typos and I’m bored to death to get to this reverse harem that keeps getting pushed on the authors social media, where???
This series started with some amazing potential. By this book I’m wondering how she can duck so many guys and they’re all okay with it. Like.. I get reverse Harem but come ON! That set up with the one fae (you know) just to have her boink another, lesser, one?? It felt way too forced and random.
NO AVANZA.
I was saddened when I got to the end of this book and realized there are two more. The plot is a cool concept, but the writing is just so sporadic and there is no connection between the characters, like there is no back story or reason for them to be in love with her, yet they just are? The only character I’m connected to his her cat Moon lol, all the men could die and it wouldn’t matter🥴 also, the smut scenes are still weird and pop up in the most random points in the book, with basically no build up.
What a ride! The action kicked in and there were some nice twists I didn’t see coming. The characters have definitely grown. This is most assuredly a why choose series. Beginning the next (and possibly last) book later tonight or tomorrow. Have to make time to take a breath after the emotional whirlwind at the end.
I am bored and this honestly feels like it could have been condensed. 3 books in and feels like the wheels are spinning and we ain't moving. every big event is juuuuust around the corner.
Ok but for real where were the editors for this series???? The amount of typos and misspellings in this book was truly painful but I stuck it out bc I can’t BELIEVE she still hasn’t banged Caldamir. Last like thirty pages were pretty exciting, the rest of the book felt like a repeat of a bunch of stuff we already knew? Gonna finish it bc I’m 3/4 in at this point and there is potential with this story

I'm not sure why I was still reading the series at this point, but this is where I called it quits. I didn't actually like any of the main love interests and there's too many overlapping dimensions/worlds (?). Maybe the next book explains how they fit together/matter, but I don't really care to find out.
Love: One of the strongest elements of this book is how it dives into the characters—especially Caldamir. His arc in this book is so layered and emotionally raw. Every decision he makes is painted in shades of grief, loyalty, and an ever-present tension between duty and desire. World-building, too, is expanded with impressive depth. There’s a richness to the setting that makes it feel lived-in and real, without ever dragging the pace. The magical elements continue to evolve in fascinating ways, revealing more about the cost and complexity of power in this universe.
Don’t Love: There isn’t much I didn’t like, but for the sake of a balanced review, I’ll mention a few small things. There were a handful of minor spelling and grammatical errors that briefly pulled me out of the narrative. They were far from deal-breaking, but given how immersive the prose is otherwise, these little slips stood out more than they might in a less polished book.
Final Thoughts A Veil of Moonlight and Madness is a stunning entry in the series—ambitious, emotionally charged, and rich in detail. It offers a deeper look into the souls of its characters while dramatically expanding the world we’ve come to love. Though a few minor errors crept in, they’re far outweighed by the quality of the writing, the strength of the plot, and the charm of unforgettable characters. If you’ve been following the series, this book is an absolute must-read.
Favourite Quote Never apologise for protecting yourself again. Not to me. Not to anyone. Don't you dare apologise for protecting the thing I care for most in this new, dark world.
Favourite Chapter 7
Character Spotlight: Moon, the Catasuga Without question, Moon stole my heart. Mischievous, clever, and absolutely adorable. There’s something incredibly refreshing about how she’s written—not just as comic relief or a token magical creature, but as a real, emotionally intelligent presence in the story. Her antics had me smiling more than once, and I’m hoping she gets even more spotlight in future books.
This series has been super interesting. The imagery the author creates in each different location is so vivid. The Starlight Court looks so different in my mind than the Sand Court. They aren’t just carbon copies. The individual relationships the FMC has with all the princes all progressed differently, but definitely progressed. I missed having Nyx with the group. I was hoping to see more of his journey to kidnap the FMCs brother. The author incorporated multiple POVs but not frequently. I wish there were more of them.
I wish we had a bit more time with all of the guys with the FMC one on one. For instance, I don’t think the FMC and Tethys had an interaction that was just the two of them. We didn’t learn much about all of them in this book, so it felt a little unbalanced in favor in the group. Considering the conflict the FMC has had with them, they were in decent standings with each other. One of my biggest peeves is when the FMC forgives too easily, and we didn’t have that here. I felt she held a realistic and satisfying distrust towards all the men. She stood by her convictions and did her best to protect herself and those she cared about in many different and impossible situations. She really had no good choices to make at any point. A lot of her choices felt like those train ethics questions, and I’m glad I wasn’t in her position. I feel like she did the best she could with what she was given.
The way the plot progressed with the High King and Nyx was frustrating but predictable. They were one step behind Nyx the entire time. They really didn’t catch a break the whole book. I knew the High King was going to come back, but now I’m just trying to figure out how Nyx is going to come back from doing what he did. I think his saving grace is that somehow they are going to be able to reverse what he did. Otherwise I’d say he would be irredeemable in the FMCs eyes.
I’m loving this series. I’m excited to see where it goes. I wish this one was longer!
At this point im just finishing the series because I got so far and dont want all this lost time to be wasted. For me like 80% of the things happening in this book and the series in general is plot points from other similar books puzzled together through awful world building that still fail to make sense most of the time. Everything happens so fast and I just find it so hard to imagine any of it, neither the setting nor the situations. It all feels like the drama club is producing a mediocre written play by a Highschooler that just finished reading ACOTAR with a budget of $200 and the stage design is selfmade out of cardboard and paper painted with cheap dollar store acrylic paint.
Book 3 finally have us some more storyline where Delphine was able to return home, finally get her brother back and find herself amongst the Fae. But once again, I found myself skipping chapters, not really paying attention and overall feeling deflated. After Book 1 I keep hoping it will pick back up but from what I now see, the author waffles on for an entire book and then in the final chapter is always BAM! major plot point or action scene or something significant happens and the book ends. I don't know why I keep reading these but I can't stand leaving a book series unfinished. My brain won't allow it so I'm now punished by bad grammatical errors and a dragged out story.
this book actually filled me with a rage the whole time but esp at the ending. im all for a cliffhanger ending. i even love a little cliche. but over and over and over again. and WHOOOO IS THE EDITOR. at this point i hope the answer is there’s no editor because it was so so hard to read. i was pushing through solely because there was a chance of a good story there. but i can’t even do it anymore. especially with the character development meaning nothing bc the characters do whatever tf they want anyway. RH does not mean the same thing to this author as it means to everyone else apparently. I GIVE UP! i even want to change my ratings on the other two books based solely off of this one
I really wanted to like this story, but I just didn't. The plot feels really convoluted, and yet there seems to be no plot. This is marketed as a reverse-harem, why-choose story with lots of smut, but there's barely any smut let alone group scenes. There are lots of spelling mistakes, and the author switches tenses mid-paragraph a lot. This is book 3/4, so I should have an idea of where the story is going and what the point of it is. Yet, I just didn't. I might try to give it another chance sometime in the future, but for now I just can't get into it.
The plot in this series is there and has great potential. However, it's very wordy and repetitive with the world building. I really like the idea of this series but it's kinda hard to follow as the grammar is off and names and genders are changed back and forth. I also was not a fan of the FMC though she did not know... Has sex with her grandfather. I was really hoping that was not going to be the case and then she laughed about it when she found out. Yikes..
I’m not usually one to nitpick about grammar or punctuation, I myself am not perfect. That being said, I just can’t take it anymore. I’m about 26% of the way through with this book and cannot continue. The first book was good, the second book is where I began to have issues. I am so confused, I feel like author just word vomits every chapter! The expression “show me, don’t tell me” comes to mind while reading.
I feel like a lot of the characters inner monologue is contradictory and there is a decent plot, but also somehow nothing going on!
So this series is kind of all over the place I'm still not 100% sure what's going on and it's always the last 2 chapters that the book gets good. The mc is Boring with no personality and tbh she doesn't add anything to the story accept that she's there for the prince's to F!@*. I had to stop multiple times to finish this I just couldn't read it one sitting.
The spice has kind of cooled off a little bit but the story is as captivating as ever! The plot is amazing and I'm always wanting to read that next chapter to see what is going on next. The writing style is amazing and even while being a high fantasy series, it is really easy to follow and understand the world and the magic systems and how it all works. That to me is amazing in itself! World building is so hard, so for her to do it so well is mega props!
This was my favorite one so far. It definitely did improve in terms of story/plot/character development, however I do think the author would benefit from some changes to how the book is being edited. I noticed many issues that should not have been missed during editing (spelling, punctuation, etc)
I really keep hoping for these books to get better and they just don’t. Insta love from every prince professing their love for the FMC? It just doesn’t feel believable to me. I also feel like I know nothing about the FMC. Who she is as a person, what she really wants. The world is cool and the premise is definitely promising but I think here is where my journey ends with this series.
