ভাইখেকো
বাংলাদেশের মেয়ে তন্বী। ঝড়বৃষ্টিকে কখনো ভয় পেয়েছে এমনটা তার শত্রুও বলতে পারবে না। অথচ টেক্সাসের এক অখ্যাত শহরে তুমুল বাদলা-রাতে আশ্রয় নিলো এক ছাউনির নিচে।
অচেনা লোকটা সিগারেট ধরাতে ধরাতে জানতে চাইলো, “নরখাদকের গল্প তো অনেক পড়েছেন। বিজ্ঞান একে বিকৃত রুচি বলেই উড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। আমায় বলুন তো, মাংসের আবার প্রকারভেদ কী?”
উত্তর দেবার দায় পড়েনি তন্বীর। ছেলেদের ওর জানা আছে। ঢাকা কিংবা টেক্সাস, লাই দিলেই সটান মাথায়। রাজা আর বাঁদরের গল্প ওর পড়া ছিল।
তার উত্তরের অপেক্ষা করলো না সুঠামদেহী যুবক, আনমনেই যেন উত্তরটা দিলো, “৭৫ভাগ পানি, ২০ ভাগ প্রোটিন, আর ৫ ভাগ চর্বি, এই তো। মাংস। গোরু খাবেন কিন্তু কুকুর খাবেন না। আর মানুষ?” গলগল করে ধোঁয়া ছাড়লো লোকটা, “মানুষ খাওয়ার কথা এলেই ছো ছো করে উঠবেন আপনারা। বিষয়টা আমাকে বোঝাতে পারবেন দয়া করে?”
রাতটা ভীষণ লম্বা হতে যাচ্ছে তার জন্য। যে কোনও দিকে মোড় নিতে পারে ঘটনা, মেয়েটি কেবল জানতো না আগামিকালের সূর্য সে আর দেখতে পারবে কি না…
এতখানি পড়ে পাঠক নিশ্চয় ভাবছেন, আরেকটি ক্যানিবলিজমের কাহিনী কি না।
তো, আপনাকে নিশ্চিত করতে পারি, চমকের কিছু এখনো শুরুই হয়নি...

দুইদিন বেশিরভাগ সময় বাইরে কাটানো হয়েছে। ছোট-খাটো জার্নিও ছিল। সময় কিছুটা হিজিবিজিও কাটছে। তার মধ্যেই বাসে বসে কিশোর পাশা ইমনের থ্রিলার ই-বুক ‘ভাইখেকো’ পড়লাম। ছোট একটা ই-বুক, আহামরি বেগ পেতে হয়নি। তাছাড়া কেপির লেখা বেশ উপভোগ্য।
বইটার নাম দেখে যে ধারণা মনে বদ্ধমূল ছিল। ভেতরে ভিন্ন এক গল্প। সিম্পল গল্প, কিন্তু লেখকের লিখনশৈলীতে দারুণ হয়ে উঠেছে। কেপির লেখায় একটা ব্যাপার ভালো লাগে, সামসময়িক ব্যাপারগুলো সংলাপের মধ্যে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে।

বইটার নাম দেখে যে ধারণা মনে বদ্ধমূল ছিল। ভেতরে ভিন্ন এক গল্প। সিম্পল গল্প, কিন্তু লেখকের লিখনশৈলীতে দারুণ হয়ে উঠেছে। কেপির লেখায় একটা ব্যাপার ভালো লাগে, সামসময়িক ব্যাপারগুলো সংলাপের মধ্যে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে।

খুবই ছোট একটা উপন্যাসিকা।
কেপির স্বভাবসুলভ স্টাইলে লেখা, ফ্লো ছিল বেশ ভালোই। এক বসায় পড়তে ভালোই লেগেছে৷
