An intriguing second encounter where two people indulge their impulses.
A one night stand that ends with an escape and no goodbyes.
Relationships are complicated, even more so when they’re unexpected and that’s the problem with strangers who leap with no safety net while allowing Late Nights full of fun to shift into an Early Morning full of regrets.
1. The editing for this was not good. I had to read several parts more than once to understand it. It just needed to be done again and maybe spelling and grammar checked. 🥴 2. I was bored. I started skipping the parts in between dialogue. And it still didn’t do it for me. 3. The spicy scene had no real build up. It definitely could have been better. 4. I tried. Just NO. 😮💨
This book has so much potential, it just didn’t come full circle for me. I felt the author should’ve flesh out the details of this book because it felt unfinished with so many different storylines being introduced. I liked Lilly and Miles as a couple and I felt their slight enemies to lovers story would’ve been the move. I also loved how it focused on the dispensary . I Just felt it needed more structure
I really enjoyed the book and the characters were very relatable and lovable. And of course, the happily ever after for all of the characters ended the book on a good note. Sadly, the number of grammar and punctuation errors took away from the storyline. I feel if the errors were corrected, the book would definitely be a five star!
This was my first time reading thus author and I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all. I love the bond that was form between Miles and Lilly. It was like they at the right time when they both need someone. I definitely will be reading more of this author work.
Myles was rude to Lilly. She was already having a bad day. Lilly rescued him from a strange woman. It was on after that. Lilly one up on Ryan because his company closed, he naturally blamed her. Then Myles and Cam's pops died, Lilly and Max were there. Jess and Damon were expecting. Myles propose to Lilly.
First read by this author. I liked the storyline, but there were so many different aspects being introduced and never resolved, that it felt incomplete to me. I wish that the book would have been a bit longer to fully develop all the items that were brought up. Lilly accused Ryan of firing her because she would not sleep with him. But there was no proof of that, other than her word. Why was Damon so protective/controlling over Jess? There were inconsistencies with Miles being in the streets in the past or not, and Cam being able to remember his mom when he was supposedly a teenager when she passed. Anywho, Miles and Lilly's relationship formed quickly after their not so great initial meeting. Neither were looking for anything, but once they spent time together, you knew that a relationship was inevitable. Lilly was there for Miles through a tough time in his life, and he appreciated her for it. Okay read. 👍👍
The story follows Miles & Lilly. They're first time meeting isn't the best, but then they are coincidentally set up. But don't let the set up fool you. They didn't really get together until Lilly "saves" Miles from some other girl pushing up on him, they go home together & the rest is history.
This book has too much detail & not enough detail at the same time (for me). Too much time is spent on Miles business & not enough on the forming of his relationship with Lilly. The sex scenarios were good, but thats pretty much all they had was sex. Its supposed to be this chemistry between them, but it fell flat & forced for me. They really only bonded over the lost of their mothers & just having good sex. It is one part of there story that was extremely heartfelt, & I wished the author would have added on to that more.
I honestly felt like this "scenario" is what's wrong with dating nowadays. Once again this is MY personal opinion. Oh & that ending was slick wack (yes, I said wack). I don't want to ruin it for future readers, but lets just say this book could have used a good rewrite & a better editor. This was such a mediocre follow-up to Charity Shane's "Seven" in the Late Nights & Early Mornings series.
What🥴⁉️ …I’m so darn confused 😵💫 & frustrated the by books end. Between trying to correct, decipher & or edit the grammatical errors, misspellings & the sentence structures, I didn’t know Miles & Lilly were a couple? 🧐When was a relationship established? There were lots of benefits with no communication, title or commitment but a proposal ….and why? “I love you woman. Thank you for believing in me when I hardly believed in myself.”…Okay, if you say so, but Lilly hasn’t known Miles long enough. I still don’t know them. More so, I didn’t read/see this rapid romance develop between Lilly & Miles. Unfortunately, I’m totally clueless by the variant events in this second installment. Nevertheless, “After Dark (Late Nights & Early Mornings - Book 2) was a disappointment.
After Dark was an ok story. Although the writing was a bit elementary, I continued reading in hopes that it would get better. Unfortunately , things got worse. I can forgive a lot, but all of the errors found is this story were inexcusable. Mistakes like, “…he looked on in discuss”, “We have been opened for a year and wish to expend.” Expend or expand?”, “With one nodded of my head …” 🙄 Chile!! I ain’t got the patience! It’s so important to proofread!
So what could have been a great story turned out to be a rushed attempt that left this reader shaking my head.
I loved the family dynamics for both of the main characters. Lily lost her parents at a young age and her sister and brother in law made sure to fill in that role and make sure she was always straight. Miles lost his mother as well. He was a little guarded with his feelings but it was because he felt he needed to step up and make sure his dad and younger brother were taken care of. When him and Lily meet the chemistry is automatic even though she put on this tough girl act like she wasn't feeling him. They had the main thing in common which was the lost of a parent which connected them in more ways than one. Great book!
I really loved Lilly and Miles and he way they met. Especially when she saved him on their second encounter. ☺️❤️ the chemistry was there and the love that they each had for their siblings was special as well. As much as I wanted to love this story my enjoyment was cut short by the number of times I had to reread a sentence because of poor word choices and types. No disrespect intended. The author may need to consider another editor to look over her work. Because those errors ruined what could have been a perfectly good story.
This was my first read from this author and I’m impressed. I loved the bond formed between Miles and Lilly considering their first meet. The second time they met they hook up and we’re inseparable after. Miles was used to being so strong for his family I’m so glad he leaned on Lilly after Senior passed instead of pushing her away. Really cute love story‼️
Miles was closed off but Lil was not about to give up on him. Their first meeting was unconventional but the second time they met, they hit it off. Sometimes you just have to find the right one. It got 4 stars due to errors in the book.
I like these short stories. Wish there was more..little cliffhangers but none the list wish Miles character was a little more thuggish..lol I liked Cams playful and sometimes sensitive demeanor overall cute story!!
I don't understand the purpose of short stories or novellas. This little story could have been cute but it was filled with grammatical errors. When I downloaded this series Idk they were so short...thought they would have a little more substance.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was very good from the very beginning to the end. Miles and Lilly needed each other. This was a good short read that you everything you need, chemistry and love.
I really liked the story, but the grammar, misspelled words, and the incorrect words interrupted the flow and was frustrating to me. PLEASE, get a good proofreader as your talent for storytelling has wonderful potential.
I enjoyed Miles and Lilly story, it was funny story of how they meet and ended up together. First time reading this author and I would read another one.
