With the help of her best friend and her hard-headed secret source, they will stop at nothing to grill the dearly departed's temperamental social circle to draw conclusions. Rita Larose now has her job as an investigative reporter and her friendship with Elsie has managed to stay in her life but when a socialite is murdered during a get together at a highly exclusive club can Rita manage to get to the bottom of what actually happened? With Elsie helping along the way we see Rita finding out who the potential suspects are in this case and getting a better understand of each and everyone of them.

This is another well written piece that has great characters throughout and whilst I really did enjoy the book it has the same little markdowns as the first book in the series (editing and how many phrases Rita appears to have), would I recommend this book and the series? Yes.

Enjoyed the good characters and the current mystery. Elsie is definitely a great character and friend. She learned a wonderful lesson that can be appreciated by many. Plenty of suspects and fun ghost. As with the first book, I was not familiar with quite a bit of the slang so I found myself looking them up. The long term mystery is making progress and book 2 ends with a cliff hanger that makes me glad I have book 3 on hand.

A great continuation into Rita’s adventures! Her sassy, sarcastic, and head strong qualities are a refreshing take on a protagonist! Love the murder-mystery aspect of this second novel and it’s many riveting characters.

Friendships are murder

Wow! This series just gets better and leaves you eager to dive into the next book. Rita Larose investigates the death of a socialite at a private dinner party, concluding only one of the guests could have done it. And she uncovers a startling revelation.
