The shy girl who moved to Pleasant Grove for her senior year is long gone. After being beaten, tricked, and kidnapped, Charlie has more than one battle to fight.
The battle of falling for two men who were involved in her kidnapping.
The battle of saving Ava from some of the most powerful traffickers in Spain.
The battle of becoming the warrior, rather than the wary.
But what happens when the once shy girl stands up for herself and those around her?
Sometimes to save the ones you love; you have to throw yourself to the wolves.
Contains references to assault, trafficking, and violence.
The overall story was good, but I just couldn’t get on board with the Mateo train. I found it cringe when it was said when he saw a photo of her at 7 when she was taken making him 15ish how something about her called to him, ugh what… then fast forward he’s 26 and she’s 18. Not sure but when I was 18 I would never date a 26 year old because that’s a whole as man you she’s still in high school. I felt gray at 21 legally able to go to bars and her in high school was a bit much. But this made it so much more cringe. I tried to read past that, but it made it hard. But I truly love gray overall, he didn’t do her dirty, he knew of his uncle for maybe days and was trying to process the information.
When I say these 2 books took me on a 2 day rollercoaster, I AM NOT KIDDING. I wanted to hate him, but couldn’t helping falling in love with him just like Charlie did. He was everything she needed That girl is a badass and deserves every good thing that comes her way.
Once again, our girl does it. Literally sitting at the edge of your seat the entire time. You think something is going to happen and then it flips, at least 3 times i this book I wanted to scream!
I thought the first book was amazing. But this, this book. I can't even describe without giving away spoilers. This is worth the read honestly. It was so heartbreaking towards the end but I am so glad thats how it played out.
A unique story and not bad but definitely didn’t not see the twists coming and who Charlotte ended with. Not a bad story slightly disappointed we don’t hear more about Paxton or Grayson.
I hated the way it ended and the plot of this one. The same things happening to her right after each other was annoying. I had to skim through this book to finish it.
It was a good read. Jumped between character views alot and not just the main character. Some parts felt a little rushed or like they didn't flow with the book
