Epic conclusion to a wholesome forbidden romance

This book was absolutely everything. Everly is an outstanding, engaging and gripping writer.

The beautiful way that this book revealed all its agony and secrets was just mesmerising, I couldn’t put it down! It was a slower read for me as I didn’t want to miss out on anything, hanging onto every chapter.

Aura and Nathaniel had such a wonderful love story, filled with pain and understanding in the times of darkness they were facing and had been living through. Both such fierce and loyal characters to their beliefs, family and each other.

This trilogy was magical, painful and really showcased the depths of Everly’s imagination and creativity with the uniqueness of it.

Another glorious edition from the Maven of Suspenseful Scenes!! This beautiful book picks right up where the second book's horrifying cliffhanger left us. This conclusion was a hard battle to get to. I feel like this adventure was trying upon my poor heart with all of the angsty drama. Aura and Nathaniel are just a couple that you very quickly become invested in. Their welfare is the whole being of the plot. The path they trod was so intertwined even before they ever locked eyes. The queen and king are so easy to dislike. I couldn't wait to see them fall. There were some very surprising twists that kept me riveted to these unputdownable pages. Aura isn't who anyone thought she was and what she's capable of are things never before seen. The tenderness with which Nathaniel treated Aura with is just so perfectly perfect. His words and actions reached into my heart and squeezed so tightly. He said, thought and did all the things that a man in love should do. He's not book boyfriend material at all, he's book husband material because he just exudes that protective passionate vibe and I couldn't help but sigh. Look out readers! You're going to fall hard with this one.

Oh my words guys it's nearly here!!!! Have you got your countdown going for this book?! You better, because man I flippin' loved these books!!

There's something truly beautiful about reading a complete series for the first time. Of course, we can always re-read them and know that it'll never grow old...and I know that with any of Everly's books I could do this...but the initial reading of an incredible series is unbeatable...that feeling of having your heart in the back of your throat, the first meeting of incredible characters/friends and the feeling of not knowing for sure where or how everything will work out. It's an incredible rush. One that is hard to put words to. But I'm sure you book-lovers understand and know this feeling well...and you won't be disappointed with this book. It's everything. Absolute perfection. I didn't know how I would feel about the book only being over just three days, but I shouldn't have been...Everly pulled it off...and I shouldn't have had a doubt because girl...

So to put all this simply, if you haven't started this series you need to. Stop reading my review, for multiple reasons, one, because this is the perfect time to start binging and two, well, there's gonna be spoilers from books one and two lol. So go, go and buy yourself those books! Trust me and trust Everly with your heart. She does like to take us through the fire before she deems it okay that her characters can have their HEA.

For those who have read Books one and two...that HEA...It's coming guys...just hold on. You can do it. Make sure you have that handy tool, duct tape on hand...who says we can't use it to keep our hearts in one piece? 🤷🏻‍♀️ You are going to need it with this book...be prepared to be put through the Everly wringer (Yeah I named one of my emotional wringers after her lol). Everly amps everything up in this final instalment and it is killer.

Day two has ended and now the stress levels are heightened (for us and okay, fine, maybe them too lol 😆), as day three begins. These guys are in for hell and they are running out of time to come up with a solution...and my poor brain was running through a hundred different scenarios trying to fix it for them lol...and while I worked out some of the plot twists, I did not know that the ending to fix it all, would be that hard on my heart. My heart legit was breaking. I was decidedly not okay...I tried so hard to remain in control, to tell myself it'll be okay...but this was what it was like. Remember my head is a crazy place lol.

Okay, I think you get the point now. But I had to get real tough on myself and was like: "if Aura can do this...I can too dammit!". So I did what any insane person would do, and had a stern talking to, to myself.

The world Everly created here is truly something else and guys...you are going to love how everything goes down (gah I want to drop a spoiler here soo badly lol). moving on...but I loved how it all finished up. Just everything about this book I loved. The characters depth and how real they felt...then you have the world development, which was just otherworldly (odd statement to make lol considering it is another world haha 😂)... but my point is that it is just so phenomenal. I can't think of a better way this book could've gone.

I honestly can't wait until you guys can read this book.

Whoopsie, I have totally been rambling on so much lol, any newbies to my blog, are you understanding the whole "Ramble" name to my blog now? 😂🙈...So I've been trying to hold off on the talking about the plot lol because I know, this is going to be so dang hard for me not to accidentally spoil anything...but dammit I'm gonna try.

*deep breath* Okay here goes...so you know how our boy Nathaniel kinda had a spike shoved into him? 😬 yeah, well, this is where this book picks right up from, with dawn coming...and man is this heart-wrenching. Somehow our man survives, can't say how, pure strength and determination? Aura? Or a bit of both? Can't really say hehe...but he is alive and he is determined to fight even harder for Aura to live....but the thing is, Aura is just as determined to do the same. Man. This is going to go swimmingly.

Don't worry...it'll get fixed later...but in the meantime you gotto suffer like I did haha.

Okay lol back to the plot. So Nathaniel is alive but not all is well. Truth's are slowly revealed, and they finally get answers about Aura and her power (which was soo cool, just sayin')...and with answers, Aura is now something else and is more powerful than ever...Deceptive rulers know that their time is borrowed and what do they do with that time? Sigh. Of course. Prepare for war.

Aura now must fight to survive, she has no people, the fell and fae fight to destroy her. It's time for fae and fell alike to finally pick a side. Who will they stand for? Will they fight because of fear or stand for what is right?

But with Aura and Nathaniel's time closing in on them, they try and distance themselves from the heartache, well mostly that's on Aura lol....but Aura must choose the right path to follow, the path that can save all and unite them, once and for all...but our man, is determined that Aura continues to fight and doesn't give up or give in to the encroaching danger. For she is not alone...she finally sees that she may not have a people but she does have a family.

I truly adored the relationship between Aura and Nathaniel. He never once let her close him out. He fought/fights for her til the end. He dares to challenge her even when the odds are stacked against them. And that was truly something beautiful to witness.

This book will break you and then remake you. It is incredible. I loved so much about it, but the one thing that really stuck with me was the growth of them all as a people...and how they continued to pick themselves up. Aura's story of growth really touched my heart...to see her accepting who and what she is and to realise she has a place in the world and is more than enough. Afterall...

"...Darkness can turn to light."

And that, is what Aura knows is worth fighting for. To fight for the ones that are willing to see change and make the change happen. Aura must release the loyalties she holds to the fae and even the humans. It's time for her to find who she is...and be true to that.

My loyalties can’t belong to the fae anymore—or even to the humans. I have to be loyal to myself. I have to be true to the only outcome that can possibly bring peace to both Bright and Fell....

That's all I'm going to say on the plot...but I just want to say, when the time for the Champions to fight came...and Nathaniel pulls a Nathaniel lol...I'm like dang boy, only you...And my brain was legit like...

And oh how it did....but even though I saw the path where this was heading and the realisation hit, that what I dreaded was coming...I was like, I understand but don't make it happen. Internal battle commences lol.

Alright, I'm playing a real risky game right now. So I honestly think that's all I should say. Just know that you must read this book. It has everything you need in a book to get hooked.

Side note: Is it weird timing that one of the songs I'm listening to, as I write this review says: "It's a fight to the death"....heck.

You may want to take some advice from Harry right now. Hide. So no one can find you. Be real quiet so you can just read and read and read some more.

You guys are not going to be disappointed with this final instalment. I can't wait to talk more with you guys about this book. It releases on the 21st so just 5 more days to go! Just make sure to read it. I may unfriend you if you don't. Jokes.

Okay fine, I probably wouldn't do that...but I may want to do this ↓ 😂What? 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's to help knock some sense into you hehe.

I think, I've rambled plenty today....so I is gonna go now. But a huge thank you to Everly for yet another fantastical series, that I just need to add to my growing collection. What? I have to keep on top. I have to have all her books. And I'm currently short of two.

As you all probably know by now, I am on Everly's ARC team, but as always this is my honest opinion and ramble on this book...I'm just that much of a fan of her work. 🖤

Anyways I'm gonna leave now. Hope you make it through all the crazy 😂

Happy Reading Book Dragons.

I loved this series! I was at first intrigued by 1st books blurb, the story takes place in 3 days. What? But then worried, how does that work? Talk about insta- love! Eventually curiosity won out and I tried it, and I am so glad I did. This three day story was really fleshed out, full of depth, great characters, a believable plot, lots of action, and yes a love worth fighting for.

Absolutely recommend!

Book 2 in the Bright Wicked series (Radiant Fierce) ripped my heart my heart out, tore it to shreds and then ended on the Mother off all cliffhangers. HOWEVER, book 3, Infernal Dark (by the end) did a pretty good job of stitching it back together (albeit, rather slowly, with a little pain and torture sprinkled in for good measure).

All kidding aside, Infernal Dark was the perfect ending to the Bright Wicked series. I absolutely love Aura and Nathaniel, and have since probably halfway into book one. Their characters have grown so much since the first book and their romance is one of my favorites in a long time.

Infernal Dark was intense and compelling, and once I started reading, I absolutely could not put it down. All of the questions from the first two books are answered in this installment. I was actually shocked a few times with revelations and events that I did not see coming. I sat in the bath with a glass of wine and some soft music and before I knew it, my water was cold and I had devoured the entire book in about 3 hours (yes I was shriveled up like an old prune 🤣).

As much as I would have loved this world to have lasted much longer, not once did I feel like it was rushed for the sake of wrapping up the story. As I said before, Infernal Dark really was the perfect ending to an outstanding story.

Great ending!!

What an ending to Aura and Nathaniel’s story. This world is amazing and draws you in wanting to know what’s going to happen next. The h and H are perfect for each other and their story is one you can read and again and again. I would love to read more from this world. Hagen and Christiana would make a good spin off series lol

“Infernal Dark” by Everly Frost is the third and final book in her Bright Wicked fantasy romance trilogy, and what an ending it was! I never thought I’d get so sucked in to a series that only lasted for the course of three days, but here I am, completely and totally addicted.

This book wraps up Aura and Nathaniel’s story, and I thought the whole thing was very well-done. I don’t want to give away too many spoilers, but this book took me on twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, and I couldn’t put it down!

Every Frost was a new-to-me author, but with this series, she has definitely made a new fan in me. I will absolutely be checking out the rest of her backlist, and I highly recommend the Bright Wicked trilogy if you love fast-burn fantasy romance novels that will leave you spellbound!

Wow!! Kudos!! So well-written! I love the multiple facets in Aura and how Nathaniel kept all parts of her safe. They both compliment each other so completely. He is her courage in a time of fear. She is his when he cannot see the road ahead. Their love is unequivocally absolute. I especially love Nathaniel's heart. He saw beyond what the fae community overlooked. Many rejected her. The fell community cast her aside as well due to her affiliation to the fae. Both sides mistreated her. The thunderbird Treble was what she considered her one true friend. Her pain was palpable. She didn't have a place but Nathaniel, through his words and actions, showed her that her place is always next to his. Nathaniel's unwavering love and loyalty to her made him stand up to his own people against the injustice and especially the mistreatment of his beloved. He became her shield and she to his in every way possible. The ending was perfect. I loved the epilogue.

Great conclusion to a fast-paced series. In this book we have a lot of questions answered that came up throughout the series, which is always satisfying.

The strain that is put on Aura and Nathaniel brings out natural times where they need to keep each other at arm's length, while affording times to have tender moments.

This book has a lot of action, and, again, even though it only takes place over one day, it is still really interesting and sooo many things happen.

The ending gives you a good sense of conclusion for the full story as well as the world. However, I'd love to see more books set in this world, maybe Evander or Christiana.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

What a series

I absolutely loved this book and series. It was such an emotional roller-coaster ride that kept you wondering exactly what was going to happen. Both were willing to put the other first that it just made you want to scream to the stars
Once I started reading this, I couldn't put it down, I needed to know what happened next. Do yourself a favor and read this book and series.

An epic battle between the two Champions
The death of Nathaniel brought Aura to a great sorrow as she tries to heal his wounded body despite of not hearing his heartbeat anymore. Then, she escapes bringing Nathaniel's body along with Hagan as Treble takes them to the Bitter Patch. As they head towards their destination, they are being attacked by people whom despises her so much. They do not trust her words and treat her as an enemy.

The book is full of twists which makes it interesting as truths are revealed. Aura discovers her true self as she manages to gain her power. Nathaniel continues to prove his unwavering love and devotion to Aura despite of the circumstances of their fate. The character development is great and the story itself was well-written.

There were emotional scenes that broke my heart but the journey is worth it. I absolutely love the epilogue The book is a phenomenal and I recommend reading it for it is so worth it.

These are my favorite quotes:
"Beautiful woman, the choice will always be yours."
"I did it because I wanted to. Because you are a beautiful, complicated, loyal woman who
surprises me with your strength and your mind. We always had a choice
about loving each other."

I have been awaiting the finale of this series. Everly Frost is one of my favorite authors and I have trouble realizing that the entire Bright Wicked series occurred over the course of three days since the books felt very in depth and not as rushed as you would have thought.

Since the second book, I am pretty sure every reader is holding out hope that it won’t end how Law of Champions dictates it will. Don’t worry, I won’t tell you, you’re going to have to read for yourself to find out ;).

This book was pretty detailed about how the conclusion of the book came about. The main characters, Aura and Nathaniel were able to find out the answers to a lot of their questions so the reader did get to see some sense made of things. That being said, all the old magic and laws were still a bit confusing to me in terms of what trumps what, how it’s superior, etc. However, Frost did spend a significant amount of time explaining everything, I just think in the explanations, it also raised different questions if that makes sense?

I also have some question about Aura based on who she is. Again, I don’t want to spoil anything so please skip this paragraph so I can ask some questions haha… Can Aura die now? Does she age like a normal person? How come the one law suspended the other for the moment? Does that mean one is more important than another?

However, despite some of my questions, I did really enjoy this book. I liked the characters relationship development. I liked how supporting characters didn’t just immediately believe Aura and Nathaniel with everything happening since that would have been unrealistic. I liked the imagery and the emotion readers can experience.

I definitely recommend this series. Everly Frost is great at writing fantasy and I always enjoy her books!

This is the third and final installment in the Bright Wicked series.

There was so much action in this book and in the entire series, I was exhausted reading it. I read them a book a day which seems appropriate as it literally spans three days.

Aura is a badass warrior who is constantly striving to figure out who or what she is as her world was turned upside down in book 1... she figures it out and I love the finality in what she learnt those words always speak to me.

Nathaniel, what a guy...who doesn't love to watch these warrior men show their devotion to these ladies and want to swoon...yes I still want to know where I can get my own!

Honourable mention goes to Hagan, cos I feel if I got to see him more he would be the guy I wouldfall for.

My only complaint is it's too short...only in that I hate to say goodbye to characters and world's I get attached too, I want the epilogue to be a whole book, just greedy really.

Another lovely series from Everly Frost, I highly recommend it and her Assassin's series too...cos Slade no Cain either way you'll love it.

My heart is hurting so bad for all the intense emotions this book made me feel, actually the whole series has shattered my heart and pulling it back together several times!!! 😭
My mind was blown with the shocking relevations we finally uncovered in this installment, the twist and turns, the intensity... This book is so perfect, I'm so sad this series is ending... Nathaniel is now my number one book boyfriend #heismine #heisperfect 😍🤗
Aura and Nathaniel are so perfect together, in spite of all the obstacles and reasons for them to be apart, they fought for their relationship, always having each other back #couplegoals 💕
But their destiny call to them, whether they like it or not... Will they find a way to avoid their final battle and finally be together??? 🤔 😩😭

This finale to the series was EPIC! It was everything that was needed in the final book of a series, it had surprises, tension, angst and hope. I think my favourite thing about this series is how each book has only covered a day. So, in Infernal Dark it is only the 3rd day since Aura & Nathaniel met, yet I felt that we as readers know them both so well as the author has managed to fit so much into each book, yet not overload us with information.
I loved that the author managed to surprise me with whom Aura was, I had not even thought that and I'm so used to guessing correctly about where a book is going these days that it was a wonderful surprise to not be right. For me, everything about this book was perfect and I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear a time or too. I will miss the Bright Wicked world but I'm comforted in the fact that I can pick these books up to reread over and over again whenever I choose.
Five stars for not only this book but for the whole series, the world building and the characterisation. I loved it.

The ending to this series was everything I’d hoped for; and more. I’ll definitely have a book hangover after this one! This series is truly unique, and I love Frost’s take on humans, fae, and everything in between. The truths though. The truths that come to light in this final book absolutely left me breathless at times; and that’s no small feat for me. I found this book to be a difficult one for me to read since I didn’t really want it to end; yet I was anxious to see how it did end. Frost is brilliant in creating a dark cloud of foreboding throughout the entire story, and it certainly culminated in this epic ending. There were twists, turns and surprises until the very end. And top it off with an emotional rollercoaster throughout it all. The epilogue is a nice touch; though it’s not anything I would have expected. I wish the epilogue was focused around something else, though it was a nice way of tying up one loose end. Overall, this is my fave series of Frosts, and is definitely a series I will be reading again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Everly for not dragging out that cliffhanger and giving us answers straight away.

This series is incredible. It’s so fast paced and action packed that I sometimes forgot that it all happens over a three day period.

About half way through Radiant Fierce I started to have a theory about Aura and it’s like guessing who the murderer is in a crime novel - I was so happy I was right! And then worried about what it meant for her and Nathaniel.

Their relationship is absolute goals with the they way they try to protect each other, the strength they lend each other, and the love they share.

I had so much apprehension going into this book. I’m such a lover of HEA and I really didn’t know if I was going to get one.

I kinda wish that this series could continue one to see what happens next but it the ending was brilliant as it is too.

This is the last in the bright wicked series and what a finale. Day 3 has begun and Nathaniels’ life is hanging in the balance. Has Aura managed to save him? Desperate to reunite him with his people and seek the help he needs Aura finds herself at the mercy of the Fell. Can Nathaniel survive and together can’t they figure out the truth before they are destined to fight each other under the law of champions.
I was not disappointed this conclusion was an epic end to the series and had me on the edge of my seat throughout, as the truth is unravelled and discoveries are made. There wasn’t a moment where I wanted this story to end. Truly an amazing read and highly recommend you don’t miss out on this series.

Be still, my broken heart.
Aura and Nathaniel have one day left. One day to be together, to save human kind, and to stop the fae from wiping everyone out after the fight of champions. Not only has Aura been lied to her entire life, but now she learns what she has been missing her entire life.
Always being pushed to new limits, Aura and Nathaniel are trying to make sure the other is the one who lives past dawn. Are the feelings just because Nathaniel lifelong quest to protect the light? Or that they haven't been able to leave each others sights for almost three days, with insane circumstances ensuing? That doesn't stop the light between them when they touch.
I was on edge until the very last page. If a series has to end, please end it like this.

Everly Frost brings another amazing series to an end. And I'm sad to see this series end.

The ultimate sacrifice was made by Nathaniel in order to protect Aura. They never knew what would happen when the lies and truth was revealed. So much was at stake, having to fight against a Queen who deceived her, the Fell King, humans and even her own people who wants to kill her. Only one person can save her from the lure of darkness.

Aura and Nathaniel are one of the most perfect couple that I've ever seen. The chemistry and devotion to each other is so sweet and fantastic! This series is definitely one amazing roller coaster ride! Full of love, action, deception and heartbreak. A definite must read! And one you must read in order. I'm definitely sad to see this series end.

I truly enjoyed how this series devoted one book to each day. Day 3 has started and, if you've read Radiant Fierce, you know the situation is looking pretty dire! It's looking pretty impossible at this point that the story will end happily for Aura or Nathaniel, but I had to know how their story would end, and I loved it so much! Also, Aura's past is finally revealed in this book, and I kind of had a feeling that's where it was headed. There's not much more I can really say without spoiling the book for you, other than it is so worth reading! This is one series that I want to re-read again right away! So amazing!

Absolutely loved it! Full of lots of twists and turns and very fast paced. I absolutely adore the main character’s Thunderbird, makes me want one! As I was reading I kept thinking, “how is this going to work out?! I hope it has a good ending!” And that’s because I like HEA endings. I know that’s not real life, but if I wanted a story about real life I would read non-fiction, like a memoir. Reading fantasy is about adventure, romance and the spectacular! So, don’t worry you WILL get the happy ending even when it seems impossible! Promise! So, if you haven’t read books 1 & 2, do so because it’s a trilogy and needs to be read in order! Then, get this book and enjoy the ride!

I loved this series. Aura and Nathaniel's enemies to lovers, star-crossed amazing action packed romance. It was amazing how much the author could pack into what would essentially be three days and three nights - so much happened! Reading this series after finishing Kingdom of Betrayal was perfect, revisiting the Spire, seeing the laws of old magic after time had swept past, meeting the new Vanem Dragon, seeing the Keepers in action, it was just amazing to read with a more linear perspective. I loved Aura and Nathaniel's story for itself because it was just awesome on its own but as part of the wider Everly universe it makes the whole story even more meaningful

What an amazing conclusion to a fantastic series.
Infernal Dark picks up right where book 2 ends. Everly definitely delivers all the action, great heartwarming feels and some really cool revelations.
Everly Frost writes fantasy series that constantly remind me of some of the fantasy authors I grew up reading. Whether it's her and Jaymin Eve's Storm Princess series or Everly's Bright Wicked series. If you haven't started, then what are you waiting for? It's amazing and you will not be disappointed.

OMG what an amazing series this was. This last book wrapped It up so beautifully. I am never disappointed when reading book by Everly Frost. Her ability to paint these worlds and characters that literally transport you to a whole new place is amazing. The ways she make you love the characters wholly or hate them depending on who they are is phenomenal. This book bring everything together. It heard my brokenness from the last one and tied up every question I had. This was a wonderful series. You can tell the author poured herself into it.

I am enough!

An absolutely stunning, perfect ending to one of the most tragic love stories I’ve ever read. The trials this couple face just make their love shine brighter. Each one of them fighting for the other and a love so pure it cannot be broken by any type of magic.
Everything they have faced up to this point has pulled them closer together only for them to have to fight to the death in what proves to be a battle of epic proportions.
This book is for everyone who never felt like they fit fully, you are enough!

Not your typical fae story

Everly has created a fae/human world that is off-the-chart different. Fae warriors riding Thunderbirds. Dark, light, winter, spring and every fae in between are woven into this epic fantasy where champions are required to fight to the death and determine who rules. Surprise! It's a celestial being that is the star power in this story and boy is Aura Lucidia full of badassery. Combined with her love for Nathaniel, they are unstoppable! This is a fun must-read series.

Beyond my wildest expectations!!!

This series pulled me in from the first page and it’s been a thrilling tale, filled with twists and action. This final book is just an incredible read that I couldn’t put down. My imagination has been in overdrive visualising the fantastic world building and characters and they came to life on the pages - these books would make awesome movies!!!!!! Aura is a very inspiring character teaching us that even in our darkest times we can shine bright and overcome our struggles. Highly recommend this series to all fantasy fiction fans.
